BB Cream- Do I need it or not?

I have fairly perfect skin which is combination to oily. I bought this Dr. Jart's Water Fuse BB Cream because there was a huge fuss about it so i thought of giving it a shot. But then one day someone told me that I don't need it because BB Creams are mainly meant for blemishes or hiding skin imperfections plus gives a heavy coverage which I don't need. She told me rather to go in for a tinted moisturizer if you want a light, radiant & moisturized kind of look (as it gives light coverage as well) My question to you is that whether I need a BB cream or not?

I don't think you need a BB cream and a tinited moisturizer but I do think you have that option because the BB will enhance the stay of your tinted mositurizer. So I think it's really up to the person.

I agree with Mia about the coverage -- more than a tinted moisturizer but less than a full foundation. I am really really hooked on them. I went wild and purchased just about every brand out there and there is definitely a difference in coverage. However, as far as needed to "heal" or "cover" -- nope, they're great on skin that might just need a bit of spf.

My fave are the ones found in Asian stores (also can be found on Amamzon but be careful to get the real thing). They might seem like they go on ashy or grey but they do warm up to your skin tone. Over the counter, the one from Garnier is excellent. I tried the one from Bobbi Brown and don't really like it (more like tinted moisturizer) and tomorrow I'm trying the one from Clinique.

Good luck

I know what you mean :smileytongue: I don't have any blemishes on my face except for a tiny zit now and then and the tone is even, but in the past I've tried many different kinds of foundations and such to help make my face even better.  My skin is neither oily nor dry, it's just normal, so I can pretty much experiment with things from powder to liquid.  As it turns out, however, I've been getting up earlier and earlier as I add more steps to my morning regimen.  I was thinking about BB creams, but I wasn't really sure if they were as good for you as some claim, and all in all if they were really worth it.  Now I've decided I will get some, since I've heard it works as a moisturizer, primer, light foundation, and is usually packed with good things for my face.  Is Jart's good?  They seemed pricier than some others.  Let me know how it went for you.

BB creams aren't heavy at all, way less than foundation. Plus it primes, and has anti aging properties which everyone can use at any age. I don't even think a BB cream can hide blemishes well, but I know they even out my complexion from a few acne scars I haven't got to fade yet. Go for it!

Hi Queen118,

BB Creams provide more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, but less coverage than a medium coverage foundation.  Its basically your all in one product that replaces the need for a seperate moisturizer, primer, concealer & foundation.  Its very hydrating & light weight.  You may want to check out another thread we have here on BT that will answer many other questions you have regarding BB Creams > http://bit.ly/LY68l2.

Hope that helps!

Hi!  This is a tricky question.  I have very good skin too, and tried out the Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB cream myself pretty recently.  I have dry skin, so I'm not sure if the moisturizing properties that this product has would be too much moisture for your oily skin.  I believe that this BB cream is one of the lightest coverage BB creams Sephora has right now, but I just felt like I didn't even need that much coverage.  You could always save it for a special occasion or for if you ned to cover up a breakout, but you could probably just get away with a lighter coverage tinted moisturizer like you said.  Here are a couple recommendations:

Benefit tm: http://www.sephora.com/you-rebel-lite-spf-15-P200309?skuId=1050822

Hope this helps!
