I've been looking for a good eyecream for a while, but can't seem to settle on one.. I'm looking for something effective, free of alcohol and parabens (if some companies actually put parabens in eyecreams), and "nicely priced" (not something that cost $100 or above..) I noticed that I started having fine lines under my eyes.. and I'm only 22.. which has become a bit of a concern for me.. I've used PTR laser free (which has alcohol in them), and a few organic ones that doesn't seem to do anything.. It doesn't have to be from Sephora.. could someone give me some suggestions?
I am over 40 and my sensitive skin has JUST settled down enough that I am ready to try something more than a tinted BB cream and blush. Any recommendations for hydrating, but oil free foundation and concealer? How can I get good coverage using these products that looks light and fresh and not cakey?
My mother is about to hit 50. She looks great for her age, but I'm starting to notice she has very bad bags and deep wrinkles under her eyes. Can someone tell me anything they have used that actually works a can reduce wrinkles for older women ? Also what she can use to help firm her skin?
looking for an anit-aging daily skin regime. i am 41 with normal sensitive skin. i am started to show signs of aging around eyes and upper lip area. i currently use origins cleanser and philosophy cleanser with a clarisonic. i also use philosophy day and night moisturizer which i am not impressed with. any suggestions? opinions on korres and origins line.
Hi everyone, I feel like I have tried so many products so now I want to get your opinion! First, I'm 26 with oily skin. My biggest concern are wrinkles. I'm starting to get the fine lines around the mouth. I don't use retinal because I think my skin is too sensitive for it. I've seen a lot of recommendations for OLE HENRIKSEN Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster but I didn't see much of an effect on me. My other major concern is clear skin. Lately, I've been noticing I have small bumps all over my face - I'm sure my day/night moisturizer has something to do with this so I think if I get a good moisturizer, this will go away. I have tried different lines from Shiseido, Amore Pacific, Ole Henriksen, Korres and Murad. My current line that I'm trying is Origins. I like to keep my regime minimal so ideally I could get a night cream with anti-aging effects instead of using a serum + moisturizer. I'm mainly looking for a night moisturizer but I am very open to other recommendations for day creams and cleansers. Thank you!!
I recently got a bunch of free samples for my skin type (combo/oily, aging) from Mario Badescu, and I fell in love with them. Just wondering if anyone else has feedback about MB. Almost feel guilty cuz Sephora doesn't carry the brand, but my results have been wonderful. May have found my HG skincare. Comments?
At the ripe old age of 31, I'm getting those visible annoying "expression lines" around my eyes. Can anyone recommend a good wrinkle correcting cream for me? What do you love and why? Oh...and I have rather sensative skin too. Thanks for the advice!
Hi everyone, I have the PTR Retinol Fusion PM, and am wondering what is the best way to use this product? I have not used a retinol before. The reviews for this product indicate that you take a couple of drops and apply to the face. When exactly in your PM skincare routine would you do this? After cleaning, but before applying any other creams/serums/etc? Could I mix a couple of drops with my night cream and apply it that way, or is it better to apply it by itself? Can you use it around the eyes? Thanks for any pointers for this retinol newbie!
Hi everyone, I'm in my late 40's, with normal to dry skin and not many wrinkles (yet)! I've been using PTR Unwrinkle Peel Pads about 3 times a week and really like them, they make my skin very smooth and soft. I just discovered the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads, tried them a few times, and really like them as well. From the ingredient list, these contain retinoids, while the PTR product does not. I don't know much about retinoids, is it a good thing to start using them at this age? I have some samples of the PTR retinol night serum but haven't tried it yet, how do you use this product? Also, is it good to continue using both of these products? Are they accomplishing the same thing or not? I guess I'm a little confused, so thanks for any info!
Okay, so last week I went to a local salon to get a facial that I had won during their customer appreciation month & it was fantastic. She used an AHA/BHA cleanser telling me that since I have oily skin I could use a stronger cleanser occasionally to slough off those dead skin cells and oils from your face, as well as a retinol cream. After the facial I couldn't believe how soft my face felt and how it was really glowing. Honestly in the days after my facial my skin looked and felt better. So now I want to find an AHA/BHA cleanser to use weekly for a deeper clean and I want to get a retinol cream/serum to use nightly. I've read some of the other posts (I even bookmarked Lylysa's post explaining what the differences were in those products) but I’m really not sure which ones to use. I’ve looked at the following: Cleansers – MURAD AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser PTR Glycolic Acid 3 percent Facial Wash Retinol Treatments – glow by dr. brandt overnight resurfacing serum Kate Sommerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum What are your favorites? What are you using?
Sephora now got 3 Algenist holiday products kit! How lovely ! I am considering buying the best of Algenist collection but, is Algenist really worth the hype? Anybody got some honest review and if its really worth it? Thanks! Any story is really appreciated! Hi, I need some help with my skincare routine. I have normal skin. I don't have big breakouts, but have several just small bumps (mostly on my forehead). Also, I am 34 and am starting to notice some fine lines, dark spots, and larger pores. Right now, I just wash my face with Dial soap 4 times a day. (During my morning shower, before my workouts, after my workouts and then at night). I usually run 3-4 miles a day and make sure that I take all of my makeup off before I work out, because I sweat a lot. Then, I wash again after I am done. Then, I usually wash before I go to bed. I am planning on getting the Clarisonic., but am not sure when to use it. Getting my makeup off? At night? In the morning? I know I wont use it more than once or twice a day. I am not sure if I should start using toners, moisturizing creams, ect. Can someone help me out? I have no idea where to start. Thanks!!!!
I just turned 25 and I have fine lines under my eyes. Otherwise I'm good. I started using the ole henrickson eye peel and its only been 2x but things are looking good. Retinol is much too strong and I think that's more for my 30s. Does anyone have any suggestions for products to help me out with my lines? Preferably with glycol? Thanks!
I just turned 30 and am focusing now more than ever on my fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes. I also feel like I'm noticing dark circles and an overall tired feeling under eyes as well. I just switched all of my makeup to better products and am currently using a clarisonic as well. Based on the forums I have read I want to purchase the Clinique All About Eyes for the dark circles and tiredness. I really can't seem to find a product for the lines and wrinkles though. I want something that prevents and heals, not covers up. Please help!
I started using poetry in lotion as directed (every other night for the first week) but my face started peeling so I decreased it to once a week but my skin still peels after a day or two of application. I use it by itself as directed. I also wait 20 mins after cleaning my face before I apply the product. I do like the results after the peeling subsides. Any suggestions what I can use in conjunction with the poetry in lotion to avoid the peeling. Is it safe to use with face oils?
What is the appropriate to begin using anti-aging products? I'm 23 and definitely do not want anything extensive however I do notice the occasional lines around my forehead or eyes and would like to diminish/prevent. So I guess my question is, at this stage is there something I should be using? Thanks!
It seems like I am allergic to something in the BB cream. I have tried Smashbox BB cream and Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty balm. Both times my face ended up with several red patches and itchiness at the end of the day. I tried both of them more than once eliminating other things to make sure it is the BB cream and yes it is. Now I have couple red marks on my face that will not go away. Any suggestion on any tinted moisturizer that will not kill my face? Or should I just go to primer and under my Tarte airbrush foundation?
I'm looking for an eye cream. I used to use Origins night-a-mins eye cream which was really rich and moisturizing. Sadly it has been discontinued. I'm in my 40s and need something moisturizing and if it helps with dark circles that would be a bonus. Thanks.
I was a Clinique user for years, then Theraderm, and now Peter Thomas Roth. I also have regular peels to correct the past damage I've done. But my skin is now dry (and I break out once in a while), and I can't seem to find a product line that works to both cleanse and mosturize my face. Seems like anti-aging lines are too drying, and a lot of the recommended 'over 40' moisturizers are too greasy. Does anyone have products that have worked well for them? How about serums instead of moisturizers; thoughts on those? Thank you!!
In the past 6 months, I have woken up with chest wrinkles or "sleep wrinkles". In the beginning, they would fade, now they're sticking around. They start on my upper chest and migrate down between the "girls". How do I get rid of them? Argh!
So, I'm going to turn 50 in less than 6 weeks. I haven't really used a retinol product and I'm wondering if I should add it to my skincare routine. I tried Philosphy's Help Me for a bit and did the Algenist 10 day trial (which I made last a bit longer) twice. I'm not sure that I really saw any difference with either one. On the other hand, neither one caused me to break out or have any bad reactions at all. In general I've been told that I have nice skin (and a couple of people recently have said that I don't look like I'm going to be 50). I've got some hyperpigmentation (mostly on my neck) that seems more noticeable some days than others, lines on my forehead and on the bridge of my nose (noticeable but not really deep), Nothing as prominent around my eyes or mouth. In the morning I've been cleansing with FAB cleanser, then tone with Clarins Exfoliating toner and use either the Clarins Vital Light Serum (which I've been using for several years) and/or Philosophy When Hope is not Enough. Moisturizer depends on how dry my skin is feeling that day but if I leave the house either the moisturizer or BB cream has SPF in it. At night I cleanse with Clinique Take The Day Off Balm and usually PTR AHA/BHA cleanser or exfoliating cleanser. (I might switch with Purity Made Simple once in a while, or use that and PTR if I didn't wear any makeup.) I usually use the FAB Radiance Pads (at least until they run out; I have the PTR pads to try next) and finish with Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (this is new for me) and Hope in a Jar Night. (Not sure I will get this again when I finish the jar. I have some Algenist to try.) So, hopefully that info helps. Should I consider a retinol product or just keep going with what I have? I think I have a Dr Brandt Ruby sample around to try (and I can't find my Murad sample). Products are expensive and while I know I can return them if they're not right, I'd love a good starting point. Thanks for reading all of this!
I'm looking for a new anti aging regimen routine skin care line i was looking on sephoras website and i found that korres and algenist looks like it would be the best ones for me and my budget and my skin. which ones does everyone like the best and that really works and worth the money. please do tell. thank you.
Hello there! i've been using a normal moisturizer for quite a while, but as the time pass, I realize that i have some strange wrinkles around my eyes, and that I have some semi-deep wrinkles on my forehead. Should I do something about this now? do you guys have an idea of a product I could use for both problems? the deep wrinkles are on my forehead and between my eyebrows, which makes me look a bit angry! There is so many products out there that I just don't know what to choose, or if i should go with two different products for those two problems. Some peoples might not consider this "bad" because I'm only 17. But if i compare those wrinkles with my mom ones, its actually quite bad! And I would rather get rid of it before it gets too bad, or at least stop / slow down the process. I was actually looking at Lancome Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Eye. Anyone tried that? Thanks for any advice! I appreciate it <3
