Hi, I'm 52 with very few wrinkles/lines. Just a few between my brows and on my forehead. I currently use a vitamin C serum in the morning and an AHA serum at night. I'm wondering if I should be adding a retinol to the mix? Any thoughts? Thanks so much, Lisa
something that isn't too expensive (less than $75 ish) but packs a punch. I'm 26 and noticing a lot of crows feet suddenly, and maybe puffiness, so I'm trying to be proactive. I've never used eye cream before, so I really have no idea where to start or what to trust. Please let me know what you guys know works!
Hi! I am in my upper 30's and just moved down South where there is stronger and longer hours of sun. I have very fair skin and have recently begun focusing on my crows feet. I have been looking for an antiaging, anti wrinkle moisturizer that has sun protection. I just purchased Shisiedo but saw it has to be reapplied every 2 hours. Is there anything that is light enough for everyday, fights aging, and will protect my face all day? (Barring of course swimming or sweating). Any advice would be welcome!
I'm thinking of adding a serum at night before I apply my Sunday Riley Luna Oil. I'm about to be 37 so anything that is anti-aging or could help even out the redness I have on my cheeks is something I would be interested in. My skin is combination/oily in my t-zone. In the mornings I have started alternating between the SR Good Genes and the DE Firma-C. Followed up my Murad's Mattifying Moisturizer and a sample I have of Algenist's Complete Eye Renewal Balm. Thanks in advance!
So after having worked my tail off last week, clocking way too many hours at work, I had the day off. My husband was at work and I thought it would be a great day to go to the mall and enjoy some alone time. You know, just me, clothes and makeup. At some point during my experience, a gentleman from a kiosk approached me and wanted to know about my skincare habits. Not wanting to be rude, I simply answered that I purchased supplies from Sephora, and was ready to walk away. Well he must have known that I was the type to not cut anyone off, so he begins his speech (nice skin, don't look my age, blah-blah-blah) and leads me to his chair, where he proceeds to put this cream on my face just where my cheek and under eye area meet. The first sensation was tingling followed by mild burning, during which time he is still talking. So then my skin starts to have this tight sensation, and I would have put money on one eye being physically smaller and shaped differently than the other. Finally he asks how it's feeling and I expressed some degree of displeasure/ discomfort. He then reassures me that is the product working and gives me a (and I quote) "biology lesson". Yep, still burny-tight feeling the entire time. Finally, he uses a fire extinguisher disguised as another beauty product to make it stop burning. The end cost for 2 jars of face-fire: around $300.00! I asked for literature, he didn't have any. I asked for a business card, he was out of them. I was finally able to get him to write the product name on a paper- DermalActives. He told me not to believe the online reviews (!) because "they weren't using it correctly". After coming home and washing my face, I looked them up. Bottom line- BBB has a red flag on this group. Sorry for the long rant, but my sisters in beauty need to know about this hazard.
I have developed some white bumps under my eye that makes me believe it is milia. Is there any under eye cream that will make it go away? Also under my eye looks like "chicken skin" not sure if this is milia too! Any advice or products I should use? Thanks!
I'm going to start tretinoin cream .025, for refining the surface of my face, fine lines, minor acne (hormonal mostly), reducing pore size/visibility. I have moderately oily medium-tan skin (I don't tan, my face is just medium tan in color). I have been using Roc Nighttime Retinol with some success, but decided, with my Derma, to use the RX. In the past I have used too much and didn't moisturize (I was in my 20's don't judge!) and now, older and wiser, I'm ready to listen. So, what moisturizers have you used at night to help with the dryness and redness, possible initial irritation retina can cause? I will entertain all price points.
Hi guys! I am one of those mid-30's women who woke up one day and went "Ack!!! I have mid-30's skin and need to take care of it!!" Upon the recommendation of my dermatologist (who told me to do VitC in the day and retinol at night), I recently started a new skin regimen (listed below). I'm loving how, within a few weeks of starting, my skin is looking more radiant. I get that the fine lines and minor chloasma will take a while to start to resolve, so I'm not too worried about those just yet. But I have noticed that my nose and, to a lesser extent, forehead have become intermittently shiny (not always really bad, but definitely something that's new). I have read some reports that the shine never goes away, while others have said that the shine goes away after the active ingredients have time to thicken the lower layers of skin. So for now, I'm at a bit of a loss, and I have a few questions for those of you who may have experienced this with the start of a new regimen: 1. Should I expect this shine to eventually resolve on its own? 2. Are there any mattifying products that might help reduce this shine that can be used even if I don't plan on wearing makeup? I am currently treating the shine with Supergoop!'s Defense Refresh Setting Mist with Rosemary SPF 50, which helps, but only lasts a few hours before I have to reapply. Thanks for bearing with me through this long post. Anyway, here's my regimen: AM (daily) - gentle cleanse w/ foreo to remove dead skin cells - toner: Dr. Gross C+ Collagen Perfect Skin mist - Ren Evercalm Anti-Redness serum - Obagi Professional C-Serum (derm recommend) - Obagi Vitamin C exfoliating moisturizer (derm recommend) AM (as needed to deal with flakiness) - exfoliator: Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion age defying exfoliator (free sample) PM (nightly) - gentle cleanser - Luna Oil/Good Genes combo - toner: Murad Vitamin C (as needed if skin feels tight) Thanks guys!
I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but I'm curious what your holy grail eye creams are? I have bad puffiness and dark circles, no matter how much sleep I get. I'm looking for a cream that will help me with that. I've tried Origins GinZing, Clinique Pep Start, and Benefit's It's Potent, and none of these do anything for me. So, what else can I try? Price isn't a factor if it works!
I'm searching for anti- wrinkle cream and skin cleanser that helps with fine and deeper lines and will also help firm without increasing t-zone acne. I'm a long time Shiseido and have their future LX products, but would like something a little less expensive. Target areas are eyes, lips and neck. Any advise?
I've been looking for opinions on this product ever since I saw the shiny packaging. It sounds like fun, but I want to know if you think it does anything special for skin, other than look pretty. I hear that grav3yardgirl talked about it in one of her haul videos, but I haven't been able to find the video, because she has so many hauls. The reviews seem overwhelmingly positive, but most people seem to be using it as a highlighter. I got a sample of it recently, and am trying to figure out the best way to wear it, but I'm not sure I need to buy it if it is only really a highlighter, because I have so many good highlighters already. I am mostly intrigued by the idea of wearing gold dust on my face and that it might be beneficial for my skin.
I have recently noticed I am getting fine lines under my eyes. I am only 30 but with 4 kids in my house I am surprised it did not start sooner. I have oily skin as a rule and I need a moisturizer that wont make me break out but will help slow this luggage down. ANY ADVICE IS HELPFUL! I also use the HD make up by sephora. It just seems to float off my skin on a pool of oil half way through the day.Any idea how to deal with this? THANKS in advance!
I've used up two bottles of Algenist GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin C+ Serum and won't be buying a third bottle as it's wicked expensive, and I didn't notice much visible improvement. I'm not seeing a lot of reviews on the web for Dr. Brandt Skincare Power Dose Vitamin C...has anyone tried it? If not, is there a Vitamin C serum you might recommend? I'm 49 and have good, though sensitive, skin. I do have hyperpigmentation and am starting to show some lines on my forehead and around my eyes. Aging is fun Thank you!
I am looking for a comparable product to the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum. Sephora Canada doesn't carry this product anymore & the Drunk Elephant website doesn't ship internationally. I am looking to avoid any added fragrance or perfume.
Or maybe Sunday Reily?? Being proactive about aging and I have no clue what I'm doing being over whelmed by all the options. Oily t zone and chin, dry areas and acne prone. Please help me out ladies and gentlemen!
Help! been using the clinique dramatically different one, but now that i'm 39 i need a little extra something else... and starting to have wrinkles and large pores. which day time moisturizer do you recommend?
Hi friends, I just bought a LOT of Elemis from a spa. I like it but would like to know other's experiences from this line of skin care. How pleased are you? Is there something that you recommend that you believe is more effective for lines, etc? Please let me know and stop me from purchasing such expensive skincare if there is something better! Thank you so much! RCP
