I'm 54years old and need a moisturiser to keep my skin looking supple

Hello, I'm 54 years old and my skin is in very good condition, except for a deep frown line in between my eyebrows. I'm now finding when I gently push up on my cheeks, my skin is becoming very "loose" looking. Can anyone suggest a magic moisturiser to keep my skin looking firm and supple.

Your thoughts will be well appreciated.

Breens.

I am a few years older and use and recommend products from Perricone. A good choice to address what you've described would be Advanced Face Firming Activator.  I also recommend Cold Plasma which is really effective as well.

You might want to consider Dior Capture Totale One Essential (LOVE this product) and the Algenist line.  They are on the pricy side, but have worked extremely well for me.  Also try Dr Jart BB cream (gold container with SPF 45) these are a few of my favorite things!!!

Sorry, meant to say that the Perricone "doesn't clog my pores," not "doesn't clear," because they absolutely do clear and shrink the pores.  That and firming are the hallmarks of their products.  I don't love all of them, but absolutely the Night Repair Lotion.  The Skin Finishing Moisturizer are awesome, but I love Benefit Total Moisure better as the moisturizer I finish with after applying other products before my makeup.

I agree with anaa... Perricone products are very effective and keep your skin supple and looking young.  You also see results usually faster than other products.  Try Cold Plasma :smileyhappy:

I use two methods to get rid of those "eleven" lines between my eyes.  I will be 56 in June, but people often think I am still in my forties (which I love, by the way...).  I have a high-power massager that I use all over my face.  I use it on my cheeks, my scalp, my neck and then I put the pointy part of the triangular head on "high" right between my eyes and leave it there for a few minutes.  It massages the heck out of the muscles there, which are what form the lines.  This is, of course, a temporary fix, but it works and the results last most of the day.  The other method is Botox, which fixes it instantly--but I have to get this done every six months and it costs close to $400.  I'd like to say it isn't worth the price, but I won't say it isn't, because it is.  Botox is magic; unfortunately, the "magic" needs to be refreshed every six months (for me, anyway), and in these tight economic times, I don't always have the extra money.

As far as your skin is concerned, the most important thing is to keep it clean, clean, clean.  I live in New York City where there is a lot of air pollution.  I use Neutragenia deep clean pore cleanser to remove my makeup.  My skin is combination dry and oily, and this particular product works wonders for me.  It's like a vacuum cleaner for my pores.  Afterwards, I use Philosophy Microdelivery face wash.  It smooths my skin and keeps the pores clean also.  When your pores are clogged, they become larger, and this is more thing that will make your skin look older.

I put a spritz of SK II facial mist afterwards; this stuff is pretty amazing and a bottle lasts a long, long time.  I put it in a spray bottle because otherwise you end up wasting it when applying.  This also really firms the skin. The next thing I apply is a few drops of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum.  If you are concerned about aging skin and lack of firmness, this stuff is key.  I use it twice a day (they say to use at night, my skin loves it so much I use it in the a.m also) four drops, and in one application, you will see and feel the difference.  At night I use Perricone Evening Repair Lotion--I love this stuff and it makes my skin tone even, my skin smooth and soft, and it doesn't clear my pores, and it also firms the skin.  Finally, in the daytime I use Benefit Total Moisture which is an amazing, thick and rich moisturizer that makes my skin sing with joy--seriously.  Just a few dabs of this stuff and my skin is ultra-hydrated and firm.

See, the secret is keeping your skin super, super clean, with exfoliating light scrubs and cleansers that will suck out the dirt and allow pores to be minimized, and then moisturized with pore-closing products that also smooth the surface of the skin, topped off with an ultra-moisturizer that will firm your skin while keeping it totally hydrated.  During the day if you work in a dry environment like I do at my office, I spritz my face with a moisturizing spray like "Hope Springs Eternal," which re-activates my moisturizers.  I'm telling you, if you follow these steps you will see a huge difference in your skin.  You may want to experiement with other moisturizers if your skin is different than mine, but the results should be the same.  You also won't need to use a lot of makeup, because your naturally clear complexion will barely need anything and the results will be a much younger-looking you.
