Post-surgery scar!

So earlier this summer, I had surgery to fix some feet probems I've been having (hello, hideous bunions!).  Anyway, my recovery has been going well, but slow and a little boring (hense all the posting I've done lately).  Well, my surgery incision is healing up nicely, but I was wondering if anyone can recommend anything to put on top of it to help prevent scarring!  The wound is completely closed up, and is a couple inches in length on either side of my foot (had repairs on both sides of my feet).  I've heard vitamin E oil is good for this kind of thing, but does anyone know of any other natural things to put on it?  I currently use Josie Maran's Argan Oil..do you think this is a safe and effective solution?  Any thoughts are appreciated!

Hi Beautymaven!

So glad it's healing well. I would definitely suggest using Argan Oil from Josie daily. I had a scar on my arm and used that which helped heal it up very nicely. If it is exposed to the sun, for sure put sun protection on it. The lease amount of exposure to the sun the better.

Kinerase also makes a scar healing therapy that is good as well.

Other than Argan oil and Vitamin E oil, aloe vera and Mederma are also effective. I hope this helps and good luck!

Hi babybear04 - I know it's upsetting dealing with scars, regardless of where they are. Try Josie Maran Argon Oil. A friend who had to have surgery around her neck/collarbone and was left with sizeable scars that could only be concealed with a turtleneck! A friend suggested Josie Maran Argon Oil, so my friend bought it - knowing it would never work - Wrong!! It worked wonders, you can barely see the scars, you really have to know about it and really look to see them.

So the skeptic is now a true believer. It also doesn't seem to have a nasty smell or leave the area feeling like you pored thick cooking oil on yourself. I hope you'll give it a try. It is such a wildly popular product with such wonderful success stories. It can be used for other reasons as well. I hope you'll give it a try and that it works magic for you. Best of luck though with whatever you decide you find most interesting to you. I hope you'll come back and tell us what you used and how it did, or didn't work for you. Best of luck with this :smileyhappy:

Hi Babybear04,

I have also heard that Vitamin E oil works really well on body scars. I know they sell it at a few health food stores. Another product that I LOVE for scars is the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. It is also super hydrating. A little bit goes a long way and I noticed results very quickly when I used it.
