Kate Somerville serums

The other day I was in Sephora looking for a product that had some anti-aging properties but that might help fade some discoloration/scarring from some past acne breakouts.  I was pointed to Kate Somerville's Cytocell serum.  They gave me a sample to try out.  I immediatly fell in love...until I got on the website and found out the price.  I just can't shell out $95 for a serum right now.  I went on a search and found Kate's anti-oxidant serum.  Will that deliver similar results?  Or is there another product from a different brand that I should check out?

Thanks so much for your help!

Take a look at this past thread where I broke down info on common ingredients used for brightening/fading areas of discoloration:

I mention some brands in there that have products for brightening and evening skin tone.

For some quick recommendations outside of the Kate Somerville line, try Ole Heriksen's Truth Serum, which is enriched with vitamin C to even skintone, combat oxidative damage, and boost the natural production of collagen for anti-aging benefits. It's also enhanced with sodium hyaluronate which is a humectant that binds healthy moisture to skin, softening the look of fine lines.

The Naked Truth Kit offers a trial sized serum and moisturizer so you can test how well you like the product:

I use the serum to brighten my post acne marks, it's very gentle and won't make your skin sentitive to light/UV damage like stronger ingredients such as retinol or hydroquinone (mentioned in the linked thread).

For something a tad bit more intensive but still gentle on skin without making skin sensitized, try the Enlighten Me Kit:

Ole Henriksen - Enlighten Me Kit

It's a trial size of their tonal corrector serum, corrective moisturizer, and power peel (a 3 step exfoliation process that uses physical based particles, chemical based exfoliants, and a soothing/calming mask).

This below thread breaks down exfoliators more in depth and shows the difference between physical and chemical based ones as well as shows how it can benefit the maintainence of skin while using a serum:
