Guy+Large Pores+some acne scars= DESPERATE FOR HELP

Hi everyone Smiley Happy

I am a guy on sephora.. yeah I am a really good customer here and more guys need to be too!

The one thing that concerns me is the strength of the products I am using. I am kind of a junkie for skin products and when I don't see results from a product after a while (months usually) I stop using and move on to something else.

I have large pores and some acne scars, being that I work in customer service I always need to look the best.

for my large pores I use products from dr Brandt, such as pores no more cleanser and the deoxygenizing experience mask that a sephora skin specialist helped me pick out. however the big price tag didnt have a big price tag result.

and as for my red acne scars I cover them up with Josie Maran argan matchmaker serum foundation. I really like it because you cant tell I am wearing it and it covers soooo well!

I just would like some opinion from everyone... should I switch around my skin care? or add something to benefit me more?

I have noticed a significant improvement in the appearance of my pores since I started using a Clarisonic Mia.  In addition to that, I use several products by Perricone, which are also pricy but for me have worked much better than Brandt.  I would recommend you try the glycolic cleansing bar and pore minimizer toner.  I also use cold plasma and a few different moisturizers, but for pores, the toner is the only one I have ever used that actually makes a difference, and I've used so many I can't remember them all!  It is a big investment, but as you stated, when you're not worrying about how your skin looks, you appear so much more confident and relaxed when you are dealing with people it's well worth the cost. it may take some time before you notice improvement, but you absolutely will.  Good luck!

First of all, it is not weird for guys to wear make up. Not alot of everyday guys wear make up, but if you've ever seen a back stage scene of news reporters or performers, there's always people patting on tons of foundation and stuff even onto the men.

I haven't paid close attention to my large pores and acne scars, and I think they are fine since they make my skin look like real skin. However, I like peel masks to lift things out of the face (Boscia or Sekkisei Kose peel mask, they hurt the most but are most effective right after a shower when your pores are open), Clinique Toner 2 after cleansing to wipe away dead skin etc so moisturizers go on better, and tinted moisturizers (they are more efficient and look more natural than foundation).

Edit: I usually focus on skincare instead of make up, but do you use foundation primer? I THINK it was the one from Bare Mineral that I first tried on one side of my face. It's transparent like moisturizers, but it minimized the look of pores and such, like if someone took a blur/smudge brush and lightly airbrushed your picture so the look of pores etc are not so severe. Get a sample of foundation primer, and you may find your make up look more natural and you will use less foundation.

Sephora recently started carrying Origins but I'm not sure if they carry the full line.

Trial their 'Skin Diver' line for men with bamboo activated charcoal.

Also! I noticed that Josie Maran Argan Oil started helping me with acne scars. I like to mix a couple of drops in with my moisturizer and it really helps in repairing my skin.

Origins Clear Improvement is a great mask that uses white china clay to draw out pore-clogging residue. I use it once a week (no more than twice) to cleanse my pores. My skin always feels so great afterwards. I also make sure to space out the use of the mask with the use of my exfoliator. I don't use them back to back as that is a bit too intense for my skin. The mask is greyish-black, but feels cool and paints on nicely with a brush or your fingers.

First off mimigurl, I think You need to check YourSelf.. Who do You think You are talking to anyone this way? You need to act like an Adult, if You aren't come back when You are. Everybody has the right to Care about their looks and Skin and for You to act like You are Helping or doing a favor after talking that way is pretty low.. Caliboy- Welcome! I would recommend trying Dr.Brandt Pores No More Vaccuum Cleaner (like a Mask rinse in 10 Minutes max) for pores and Kate Sommerville ExfoliKate exfoliator and maybe a new Cleanser. I really like Fresh Umbrian Clay Bar ( costly ) but effective. If You are interested in a Foundation as Well, I really like MakeUpForever HD Foundation and Amazing Cosmetics Concealer. Hope this Helps You and Good Luck!! AngieB. :-)

I highly recommend Acnetix. Its not sold by Sephora, but its my #1 miracle worker. It delivers everything it promises and more. It gets rid of acne and scars without damaging, drying out or causing more acne. Its a exfoliating face wash, and nothing more. Use it at least once a day in your morning shower, or twice a day if you want to see results sooner and your face will breathe a sigh of relief. And the best part about it is that once your acne is gone, its gone. Its not one of those products that works only while youre using it. You get a shampoo sized bottle (not kidding) for about 40 bucks and it lasts for months. Trust me, I have tried everything from Sephora, everything from the drugstore, ancient home treatments (using toothpaste as a spot treatment etc) and this is the best. And its ONE step, which for guys is godsend I'm sure. The only thing about this product is, is that because its completely natural, that it does have a weird smell but once you get used to it, you'll never smell it again.
