Help finding moisturizer... oily/dry patches
Hi! So I am in urgent need of a new moisturizer!  Some info: I used to say that I just have very oily skin but I now have dry patches under my lips (and a little around) (I have been using Aveeno Clear Complexion and Aveeno Daily moisturizer but they may have been causing redness so I stopped them after a month or two.) I used a Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief sample and now around my lips and under my eyebrow bone are flaky. All of these stung or burned in some way when I was putting them on.   I wash my face twice a day with Aveeno Clear Complexion Face Wash and use Acanya in the morning and Atralin at night for my acne.    I don't know what to do, nothing I use seems to be okay for me.  Does anyone suggest anything?? A different face wash? The dermatologist said Aveeno was a good brand but I'm not sure if it's the best for me.    (I also usually wear Sephora 8 hr Wear Perfect Cover Concealor and their Baked Face Compact Powder)   Thank you so, so much!

First Aid Beauty Cleanser ph level
So I'm testing out cleansers and I read on FAB's website that their cleanser has a ph of 6.5, only slightly more acidic that your face. While your body may have a ph of 7, the skin mantle has an acidity level of what, 4.5-5.5? Lower than 6.5, anyway.   I'm really dithering about whether or not to even try this product. I mean, if they got the basic ph of the face wrong, what else is next? I have acne-prone skin and I have found that the best way to avoid breakouts is to really keep my skin acidic.   Does anyone else pay attention to the ph levels of products?

How to make my skin smoother?
Hi guys I'm only 18 years old, and only break out occasionally. My main issue with my skin is that it has a weird texture. It's almost like really teeny tiny goosebumps in certain areas of my face. I've tried tons of primers, but it still shows through with my foundations on top. Is there maybe some sort of face wash to help smooth out my skin? I'm open to any ideas, thanks!

Foot care,,, tried everything still looking!!
Let me start off by saying that my feet are sooooooooo much work! I have tried my micro pedi amd it's not doing as good as had hoped! This month I bought the Soap and Glory heel genius and so far it's not doing much. I have rough heels and have to file them twice a week to keep them soft! Is there any other products that you have tried that really works? I'm so frustrated and sick of spending all this time and money for products that don't work, lol. Please tell me if anything is working good for you! Thanks in advance, Dan

Acne Scar Treatment + Current Acne
I'm looking for a serum/cream that will help with acne scars that also works for someone with current acne.  I have been using Clinique Dark Spot Corrector and while I do see a difference, I frequently get pimples still so the results are not as impressive.  I do use an acne treatment and use that before the dark spot corrector.  A Clinique sales associate said to do that.   More about my skin: late 20s, gets hormonal acne; oily/combination skin that tends towards dry in the winter.     I would appreciate any suggestions!

large pores and acne problems... help?
I am searching for some help with my skincare routine.  I have large pores and acne prone skin, and would like some recommendations to help solve these problems.  I'm just going to go ahead and list as much detail to help:  I'm 32, and large pores run in my family.  My daily skincare routine: AM- wipe with washcloth (warm water only).  This is something I started a couple of months ago and it has helped with breakouts a good bit.  PM- Sephora makeup remover on eyes, Simple foaming face wash in the shower.  I use Simple gel moisturizer as I think I need it, but not every day.  If I need to spot treat I either use Neutrogena spot treatment or Mint Julep mask dabbed on acne spots.  My acne is hormonal and sometimes cystic, but never severe. My skin is also sensitive and does not care for a salicylic acid treatment at all.   Makeup- I use POREfessional primer (recent purchase that is NOT working).  This primer has not helped with my pores and seems today (day 3) that it is beginning to irritate my skin (slight pink color and tingly).  I use Bare Minerals matte powder foundation, concealer, and translucent powder.   Any suggestions from skincare to makeup would be greatly appreciated.  I am ready to be excited about my makeup and not frustrated!

Foot Softening Cream For Use With Clarisonic Pedi
Hi all,      I'm wondering if anyone who has the Pedi can chime in with recommendations for their favorite foot cream to pair with it.   I didn't have much success with the cream that came in the foot transformation set (I've had my Pedi for almost a year now)  I really like the dry file and the acid boost product, but the cream itself doesn't work for me to keep my feet soft.      I've tried Bliss' Foot Patrol which was ok, and Caudalie Foot Beauty Cream which I found too greasy.    The best I've come across so far is something called Zim's Crack Creme, but my husband complains every time I have to use it, because it has a very intense clove-like smell.  Since I put it on before bed, the smell soaks into the sheets and he claims he can still smell it hours later.   I tried the search bar, but most convos seem to pertain to the Pedi itself. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!   Thanks.

Facial oil comparison/break down (moisturizer kind)
Everybody seems to be interested or using some facial oils. Here's a comparison of 6 non-cleansing ones that are <$70.Tada! For reference I have dry combination skin in the winter and used ~3-4 drops for my face. I have oily combination skin in the summer and this is a tad too heavy/moisturizing for me so I use gel cream. The smell for all of them kind of disappears after they absorb. From least to most hydrating/heavy:   Fresh Seaberry Oil: very thin, liquidy and lightweight. Have a slightly herbal scent. Sinks in fast but leaves almost nothing on the top layer, so it's not very protective but it doesn't interfere with anything else you plan to put on. Great for dehydrated oily/combo skin or as a serum for dry skin. It is an oil blend and contains fragrance. =/   Dr. Dennis Gross Active Vitamin D Serum-oil : it has a thin gooey oil texture and takes a bit longer than Seaberry to sink in. It is great for hydration but not really for anti-aging (my tiny under eye wrinkle that appears every night did not disappear the next morning. It usually does if I use an anti-aging serum like Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, Dior One Essential or Lancome). It has a slight citrus-lemon scent. It's not really an oil since the first ingredient is Squalane (a moisturizer) then soybean seed extract. It does have retinol and glycolic acid, so if you have an issue with either of those active ingredients, I suggest you google around a bit or get a sample before buying.   (New comer!) Boscia Tsubaki oil: ohhh, very light floral scent. It's thin and spreads easily, so you can apply sparingly if you don't need much. But it doesn't sink in and disappear completely like Seaberry, so it's a bit protective, too. However, it is not as thick or make the skin feel as plump/sturdy as Maracuja. Buuut, the light floral scent won over the potato chip scent of Tarte Maracuja. True to advertisement, the 1st ingredient is camelia/tsubaki oil, followed by other oils and extracts (no chemical/fragrance/problems from a quick skim of ingredients, all seems to be good stuff).   (New addition!) Marula oil : very mild herbal scent. The thickness is between Boscia Tsubaki and Tarte Maracuja, but honestly the difference is so subtle that it doesn't really matter between these 3 oil (unlike if you were to compare Fresh Seaberry and Argan oil). It's a bit thicker than Tsubaki but spreads/sinks in just as easily. It claims to be 99% marula with 1% essential oil blend, no fragrance or active ingredients there. The only possible problem is if you are severely allergic to lavender, which is the very last ingredient for Marula and Tsubaki oil, otherwise it's all good stuff.   Tarte Maracuja Oil: slightly thicker than Seaberry like Vit D serum-oil. It feels smooth going on rather than that thin greasy oily feel. Takes a bit longer to sink in and smells like potato chips oil (cooking oil). Unlike Seaberry that disappears, this makes the skin feel a tad more plump/sturdy/moisturized after it sinks in. It is advertised as 100% organic maracuja oil, so that's that.   Argan Oil : a tad thicker than Maracuja with a more gooey consistency, feels velvety on the face and takes the longest to sink in (but less than 1-2min). Great for dry skin or even combo skin in the winter. It doesn’t have much of a scent. If this feels too thick to rub onto face and tugs, try putting a couple drops into the palm, rub them together to warm it up and press onto face. 100% organic argan oil.   Nude ProGenius : The consistency is as thick as Argan oil, but once you rub it in the skin, it feels thicker like cream where it feels like it left a velvety protective layer on the skin. It doesn't feel as hydrating/penetrating as other oils, but if you have problem with oils disappearing after a couple hours, this will stay and work well as a top/final layer to seal the serum/hydration stuff underneath. While this feel quite luxe, it does have that no.2 pencil (lead) smell. It's quite a blend with some common cheap oils (corn oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil) but mostly a lot of exotic(ish) oils and trace amount of alcohol (since it's one of the last ingredients).   You can definitely use oil regardless of if you have oily/normal dehydrated skin or dry skin, and they do not cause/worsen/irritate my acne. They hydrate well and sink in well as long as you apply sparingly. They are good for preventive/first sign anti-aging or de-hydration wrinkles. For anything more, an actual anti-aging serum will provide more benefit (Murad, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Dior One Essential).   If you have any question about oils listed above, let me know (through PM) and I will check.

The skin around my eyes turns brown when i wear sunscreen or makeup- HELP
I have pretty sensitive skin in general, so I have an idea of what products work for me. However I cannot figure out this issue and I need some advice/product recommendations. The skin around my eyes turns dull and brown-ish whenever I wear sunscreen or concealer (which is almost every day). I have a good night-time moisturizing regimen that repairs this, so usually when i wake up in the morning my whole face looks even, but when i put on sunscreen i look in the mirror 5 minutes later and my eye skin has turned darker and it looks terrible. This started as a teenager when i didn't wear sunscreen, but my skin would react in the same way to undereye concealer. When I go a few days without makeup/sunscreen this goes away and my skin looks fine. My suspicion is that it's reacting to some chemical, because this also happens when i use eye cream (I now use pure argan oil on my eyes) so I guess I'm looking for "natural" sunscreens but I don't really know exactly what ingredient to avoid, etc. If anyone has this problem or something similar please give me some advice! Also product recommendations! Thanks

What should I do about face redness?
My face is naturally pink but can get very red.  It can take on that red/purple hot to the touch and is especially worse when I wash my face later in the day and try to reapply makeup...i.e. when I get ready to go out.  I've used Clinique Redness Solutions primer and foundation along with various other similar products. While these help some they make the other areas of my face take on a strange hue.  I'm hoping there is a skincare suggestion someone has.  I've tried tons of different tone correcting toners, moisturizers, cleansers but nothing gets me the effects I want.  The worst is when my face gets really red there is nothing I've found I can do that will make it better, even washing it and starting over just makes it worse.   Thanks for the help!

Stila Stay all Day 10 in1 Illuminating BB
Back in March I had asked some questions about Rosacea.       Since then I have started seeing a Holistic Dr. who is kinda putting me back together again. My skin looks 90% better (maybe more, but I am critical of myself), BUT I still have some slight redness here & there.  Of course my skin is dryer now since it is cold weather (& indoor heat).   So anyway, I just NOW have gotten to my mini tube of the Stila 10 in 1 HD Illuminating BB Cream & I love it (so far). I have used it about 5 times (maybe more) and my skin looks good..... especially in pic's ( ).  Wish I hadn't gave the other mini away to my cousin now! hehe   I was wondering if you guys could chime in on what you think a/b this BB for my very needy skin? That way I know whether or not to buy the full size (I don't see anymore mini's), OR if there is something w/ the same concept (filter, idk what u call it) that would be Better/ Healthier for my skin? *Btw, I am still using the FAB Red Clay Cleanser, Algenist Dry Oil Serum & the REN Global Day Cream moisturizer (a/b out). Should I get the Jurlique for when I run out of the REN (loved the sample of the Night Recovery), or do you guy's have better suggestions?   Thanks Everyone in Advance!

Thoughts on Paula's Choice?
Do you agree with her views on skincare products?  I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay.  Examples:  - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts.  - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse.    Products she gave a "poor" rating to:  - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid.  - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1.  - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love   - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products   I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time...  Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.

Allergy to Eye Creams
Hi all,   I am hoping some people here may be able to offer some advice or insight into a little problem I have.   About 10 years ago I started having allergic reactions to any creams near my eyes. They were pretty bad events that left me with my eyelids swollen shut and peeling skin both on my eyelid and the skin under my eye. Eventually I figured out a routine that worked and the problem resolved itself with very gentle skincare and no creams near my eyes. Makeup itself has never seemed to trigger the problem.   In the past couple of years it seemed as though I had 'grown out' of the problem and I have been able to use a wider variety of products with no problem but I have shied away from eye creams. I am now in my early 30s and am interested in introducing eye creams into my regimen. Last night I tried a sample of Benefit's It's Potent and within a couple minutes I could feel the burning. I washed it off but the damage was done and find myself with swollen eyes today.   My questions are these: Is this a problem that other people experience? Are there other very gentle eye creams people can recommend (I have samples of Algenist and Clarins at home but am now a little wary)? Do I even need an eye cream?   I realize this is a little long so thank you in advance for taking the time read this!

Intense, hot redness
The redness I get burns off makeup if it gets too hot. It tends to develop on the lower part of my cheek and I've always had it. Clinique had a stick a few years ago (I think it's a powder now) that used to cover it until it would burn off (by that I mean, that portion of my face would get so heated the makeup would disappear) but, being yellow, (on a VERY white person) it never blended well. I only ever get acne, maybe one dot at a time, twice a year or so but my skin can be dry and flaky. Has anyone know of anything that would work and not burn off?
