Clarisonic Brush Advice
Hi everyone! I purchased a Clarisonic about 2 years ago. It has the normal brush head. I initially used it once a day for 3 months then backed off to 3 or 4 times a week for 4 months. I never noticed any improvement or change in my skin. If anything, I thought my acne was slightly worse and my skin felt rougher. Basically, it has sat unused in my bathroom for a year. Now that there are lots of new brush heads available, I am wondering if I should try another brush head and give the Clarisonic a second chance    I have oily-combination skin. My chin/forehead is oily and I typically have 1-2 whiteheads especially around that time of the month. My temples and nose are dry. I am 30, and have the beginning of some tiny brown sun spots that are fading nicely with OH truth serum. I also have some unevenness to my skin tone. Any advice on what brush head to try? Or do you suggest I give up on it? I would like to know others' experience with it as well!   TIA!

Updated Skincare Research
Hello,   I've been reading on the ewg skin deep report 2014 that vitamin A exposed to sunlight damages skin cells, however I've noticed some cosmetic brands including sunscreens still contain retinyl palmitate. I'm curious to know if anyone has come across any recent skincare research.  I like to stay updated, though I don't always browse the research sites.

Skin care product for dark or age spots? My mom is in her 70's and would like some rec's please
My mom has some dark brown patches on her forehead and one on her cheek. I'm not sure if they are age or sun spots. Her skin looks good for her age. Very few wrinkles, no acne etc  My mom only wears a bit of powder and lipstick. Washes her face with soap and water (not into makeup, skin care). She would like a product to help diminish these spots. Any rec's? Thanks!

Sunscreen question that hasn't been addressed on the board.
I'm having an issue with sunscreen. I am using the MD Solar Sciences sunscreen SPF 50 and the Biore Aqua Gel sunscreen SPF 50. My problem is that even when I used these sunscreens, I still seem to be getting sun spots on my face. Has anyone experience this? I apply sunscreen in the morning, drive to the gym and come back home (around 8:00 am.), then drive to work at around noon or 1:00 pm.....that is as much sun as I'm getting. Is there a sunscreen that really works against protecting skin really well. I've heard that European or Asian sunscreens are better than American sunscreens. I prefer something that is light and doesn't have a greasy feeling. Your help would be much appreciated

Best facial oils, why and how do you use them?
I've noticed a lot of facial oils on people want lists (for sales, for wish list).  And, amazingly many of the most coveted are around $100 and sold out on the Sephora site.  Sephora's selection of face oils also seems to have grown a lot over the past 6 to 8 months.   So, which face oils are people loving and why?  How are you using them?  They seem to work for both dry and oily skin but are certain ones seeming to work better with specific skin types?   Thanks!

Red, dry patch on nose... Slightly bumpy??
For a few weeks or so, I've noticed that I have an area on my nose that is red, dry, and slightly bumpy.   Thinking it was just dry skin, I started using ExfoliKate to remove the dead, dry skin, which worked and made the area smoother. However, the redness remained. After trying the moisturizer route (a drop or two of Josie Maran's Argan Oil) and not seeing much difference, I took a more medicinal method and used a Hydrocortisone cream, which helped with the redness.   After using it for a few days, the redness went away. I continued to exfoliate the area once a week for a couple weeks, only to have it come back again.   I have not changed my make up routine or implemented any new products prior to this starting. It appeared seemingly out of the blue.   Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what this is, would could be causing it, or what to do to get it to go away for good? Thanks so much.

Dark circles and visible veins under eyes?
I'm only 16 and have noticed in the past year or so that I have very visible purple and blue veins under my eyes and very very dark purple/blue tones under my eyes due to that area of my skin being very thin and delicate as well as the fact that I'm a bit pale. I'm so insecure about myself as it makes me look so awful and tired and the veins are quite unsightly. Because of this I feel like no one will ever love me and I'm terrified of going without makeup because I look like a freak. In fact, I never used to notice visible veins under me eyes (maybe I just wasn't looking) and I think maybe the skin has got thinner because I used a lot of concealer in that area? I don't know- all I want to do is get rid of my horrible under eye circles and visible veins but I don't know how. I know you could probably use cosmetic surgery but I really don't want to and my dad got really angry and upset at the possibility. Please help! Is there anyway I could permanently get rid of them for good? I would be so much happier if I did't have to hide my natural skin away under tons of makeup.

breakout!
I just started using my MIA with the gel cleanser that was provided in the kit and out of the blue I've got a breakout.  6 pimples around my chin and alongside my nose.  I very rarely get even one pimple (am 52 with t-zone oily skin), so this is highly unusual.  What could have caused this?!?  Is the gel cleanser too rich for my skin?  I should mention too, I have seborrhea dermatitis around my nose and a little on my lower cheek, so avoided using the gel cleanser those areas because I have special medication for that.  Any advice?

Foot Softening Cream For Use With Clarisonic Pedi
Hi all,      I'm wondering if anyone who has the Pedi can chime in with recommendations for their favorite foot cream to pair with it.   I didn't have much success with the cream that came in the foot transformation set (I've had my Pedi for almost a year now)  I really like the dry file and the acid boost product, but the cream itself doesn't work for me to keep my feet soft.      I've tried Bliss' Foot Patrol which was ok, and Caudalie Foot Beauty Cream which I found too greasy.    The best I've come across so far is something called Zim's Crack Creme, but my husband complains every time I have to use it, because it has a very intense clove-like smell.  Since I put it on before bed, the smell soaks into the sheets and he claims he can still smell it hours later.   I tried the search bar, but most convos seem to pertain to the Pedi itself. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!   Thanks.

Thoughts on Paula's Choice?
Do you agree with her views on skincare products?  I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay.  Examples:  - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts.  - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse.    Products she gave a "poor" rating to:  - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid.  - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1.  - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love   - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products   I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time...  Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.

Mom needs neck cream!
I am starting this post for my mom because she is not into makeup and wouldn't even know how to start a post.. So, I am doing it for her!   My mom is struggling with lines on her neck, in other words, tree trunks, as they're called. She just bought a neck cream for almost $90 and has been using it for a long time and no change what so ever. She sent it back in hopes of finding something else. But she is doubtful her lines will go away because they are hereditary. I have them to but not as bad. My mom does not have any wrinkles either.   I am wondering if there is some neck cream that could help my mom's condition.. I'm not sure if anything will help because it seems to be hereditary, but I would like some advice or information about it because I feel bad for my mom! So please help if you can, she will really appreciate it!  XOXOXO

Allergic reaction on face! Help!!
Hi guys!! so this is the first time this has happened to me, but I have had an allergic reaction to La Mer Liquid SPF 30 which makes me really sad After one day of applying it on my face and being out in the hot Portland sun (95 degrees ) my face *mainly cheeks and chin* is now dry like sandpaper and itchy. Although the itching has subsided a bit after Day 2, I was told by my mom to lather on Aquaphor for the dryness. This leads me to question if I'm allergic to a specific ingredient in it or just chemical SPF's in general?! If any of you have experienced this and have any insights please let me know! How can I even out my discolored skin? + Concealer, please stay PUT after I apply blush
Hello, ladies (and possible gents)!   So, I'm wondering how can I even out my skin tone. I have blotchy, discolored skin - lighter in some areas than others, and even after putting foundation and powder on, you can still tell that the color is a bit uneven.   It also makes my blush appear reeeally blotchy and uneven and that bothers me to no end. Is there some sort of trick for this??   Also, for those of you who have breakouts and/or acne scarring on your cheeks, how do you conceal the area without rubbing the concealer off when putting on blush and highlighter, etc.? This doesn't happen when I conceal other parts of my face, but I think it may be due to the fact that my scars are so dark.

Dark spot removal or reduction from old scars on my body
I am very concerned about marks on my legs and arms that I have created by picking at in-grown hairs.     Most of the spots are the size of a pinky nail.  The marks are slightly raised because of a very thin layer of scar tissue.  The coloration of the marks vary from dark tan, they are sometimes lighter than my skin and sometimes pinkish-purple depending on the age of the scar.  In total all of these spots or no more than a year old.   Please, please, please advise me to products if any that will help resolve this issue.  I would with all of my heart appreciate any input.  This is my last resort before going to a dermatologist.   Thank you so much for your time,
