Hi! I'm looking for advice about an inexpensive bronzer maybe. I normally wear glasses and have gotten a little burnt from the sun this summer. I have recently started wearing contacts, and it's obvious on my skin that I'm burnt due to the whiteness around my eyes and on my nose. My skin tones are different. Would bronzer help me? Thanks!
I have a good amount of acne/sun damage scars. Any suggestions on a good product to have them disappear over time? My cousin is currently getting laser done to get them removed, and that is an absolute last resort for me...(basically I REALLY don't want that to happen) What products do you recommend/how long does it usually take for you to see results?
I've noticed a lot of facial oils on people want lists (for sales, for wish list). And, amazingly many of the most coveted are around $100 and sold out on the Sephora site. Sephora's selection of face oils also seems to have grown a lot over the past 6 to 8 months. So, which face oils are people loving and why? How are you using them? They seem to work for both dry and oily skin but are certain ones seeming to work better with specific skin types? Thanks!
Do you agree with her views on skincare products? I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay. Examples: - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts. - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse. Products she gave a "poor" rating to: - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid. - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1. - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time... Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.
Hi all, would anyone have a good recommendation to reduce the appearance of rosacea on the cheeks? I am looking to get something for my mom she is 46 and has great skin otherwise. It's combination with an oily T-zone. She mostly uses lancome, clinique and clarins in her daily routine, as well as the vivier vit c and peptides serum. Thanks for any suggestions!
I am very concerned about marks on my legs and arms that I have created by picking at in-grown hairs. Most of the spots are the size of a pinky nail. The marks are slightly raised because of a very thin layer of scar tissue. The coloration of the marks vary from dark tan, they are sometimes lighter than my skin and sometimes pinkish-purple depending on the age of the scar. In total all of these spots or no more than a year old. Please, please, please advise me to products if any that will help resolve this issue. I would with all of my heart appreciate any input. This is my last resort before going to a dermatologist. Thank you so much for your time,
I am fifty years old and have limited means. My skin texture is terrible and I have many fine lines and wrinkles. Every time I use skin care products my face breaks out. I drink plenty of water and get enough sleep. I use sun screen year round and a visor and sun glasses in the summer. When I use only cleanser and witch hazel as an astringent my face clears up but the appearance and texture just keep getting worse. I find that my skin does better with powder mineral make up but it emphasized the lines and texture problems. Please help me!
Sorry, this is kind of gross, just as a warning. Yesterday I had a particularly bad migraine in the evening, which eventually caused me to vomit (again, sorry). This caused a ton of broken capillaries all over my face. Is there anything that I can do or any products that I can use to speed recovery? My face looks absolutely awful. =(
Hello, ladies (and possible gents)! So, I'm wondering how can I even out my skin tone. I have blotchy, discolored skin - lighter in some areas than others, and even after putting foundation and powder on, you can still tell that the color is a bit uneven. It also makes my blush appear reeeally blotchy and uneven and that bothers me to no end. Is there some sort of trick for this?? Also, for those of you who have breakouts and/or acne scarring on your cheeks, how do you conceal the area without rubbing the concealer off when putting on blush and highlighter, etc.? This doesn't happen when I conceal other parts of my face, but I think it may be due to the fact that my scars are so dark.
I'm pregnant (very early) and I adore Sunday Riley products and I was wondering which products from their line (or other lines with similar products) are safe to use during pregnancy? My skin is combination, some fine lines, and occasional breakouts. Currently I use Juno oil (for the amazing glow), the Ceramic cleanser, and the Start Over eye cream. Thank you!
Hi everyone, this past year I've noticed more and more of these tiny bumps appearing around my eyes. I have pretty dry skin, so I am used to texture on my face, but these bumps are different and they appear only under my eyes, eyelids, and on the sides of my nose as well. They might be milia, but I am unsure because they are not white. I don't know how to get rid of them-please help! I've tried exfoliating around my nose, which didn't really help, and I didn't think I should exfoliate under the eye. Sorry about the pictures, it was hard to capture them on camera, but they are pretty bad in real life. Please help! Thanks in advance!
I'm having an issue with sunscreen. I am using the MD Solar Sciences sunscreen SPF 50 and the Biore Aqua Gel sunscreen SPF 50. My problem is that even when I used these sunscreens, I still seem to be getting sun spots on my face. Has anyone experience this? I apply sunscreen in the morning, drive to the gym and come back home (around 8:00 am.), then drive to work at around noon or 1:00 pm.....that is as much sun as I'm getting. Is there a sunscreen that really works against protecting skin really well. I've heard that European or Asian sunscreens are better than American sunscreens. I prefer something that is light and doesn't have a greasy feeling. Your help would be much appreciated
For the past few months, I've noticed that when I step out of the shower, my checks feel really "tight" and when I pat around on my forehead and nose, it feels dry. So I use moisturizer to add back some hydration (but the tight feeling never goes away no matter how much moisturizer i add to my cheeks) and apply makeup and not even two hours later I'm shiny everywhere and my foundation looks cakey! I don't know if this means that my skin's dehydrated or combo or oily or what. I'd love if I could get some feedback, I want to fix this problem once and for all! Product recommendations (drugstore or high-end) would be greatly appreciated too; thank you so much!!
Happy Monday! I've amped up my skin care lately and have been recently looking to add to it. Sephora has a bunch of great skin care sets and its so hard to chose one, does anyone have any recommendations? Overall I'm just looking to improve my skin, brighten, smooth texture, get rid of some redness (I think it just comes from being very fair) and diminish pores. I don't care if its a mask, peel or serum I'm open to try anything! Some things I'm considering are the Dr. Gross alpha and beta peel, the Korres rose peel, the Lancôme visionnaire set or the drunk elephant glycolic serum. My routine for now is, at night wash with purity face wash, tone with Mario badescu special cucumber lotion, mix Josie maran argan oil with my Cerave pm facial lotion and then spot treat. In the morning I clean my face with micellar water and use my day moisturizer with SPF and then use an extra face SPF. I do masks once or twice a week. My skin is combo id say, slightly oily in my tzone with some slight dryness on my cheeks that comes and goes. Thanks in advance for the help
I was think of investing in the Pro Model. I want to get one to help get rid of old acne scar and fine lines. What do you guys think of the system? Does it make you skin really smooth? Do you have any other favorite systems similar to the PMD?
Hi everyone! I have been searching forever for a product that will reduce my pore size I have around my nose and on my cheeks. I also have red, blotchy skin which could be sun damage but it is just red and never seems to go away. My skin type is combination and usually is sensitive as well.... I'm Oily on my t zone and dry around my eyes, chin, hairline. I use proactive + as my skin regime and it has gotten rid of my pesky acne I had to always deal with but I am still left with large pores and redness! Any products to recommend to add to my skin regime? Help!!!!! I just want more even, brighter, healthier looking skin!
I need to get a good exfoliator I've tried several over the years and have not found one I love yet. I'm thinking about trying this one out, but would like to hear from a few people that have tried it first. Or hint hint Sephora see it in the sample section as it is not in my local stores yet.
Hi, i'm looking to switch to a physical sunscreen as I understand it's supposed to be more stable and last longer (and who seriously reapplies every 2 hours if they wear makeup!). I have combo skin which tends to become oily halfway through the day. I'd be wearing it over a moisturiser or at least serum. Then Estee Lauder's double wear on top using a beauty blender. Ideally it's not greasy, won't cause breakouts, safe to use around the eyes, doesn't have the stupid sparkle effect (why do companies think women like this?!) and makeup goes on over it well. I don't care if it has a ghosting effect in photos, and aren't really concerned with anti-aging benefits as i'll get that from my moisturiser. If anyone's used the following, can you please let me know how they wear and compare if possible. Suggestions of other products are welcome. - Clinique's City Block Sheer: I tried this on my hand instore and it has a nice light texture. - Tarte's Tarteguard: also tested this, texture's ok but it has a sheen. It didn't seem too obvious so I could be okay with that if it's otherwise the best one. - Coola's Mineral Face Matte Finish or Tint - Dr Dennis Gross Dark Spot Defense - Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense Thanks!
Hi, I have hypmelanosis on my forearms (white spots against olive complexion) and need to know what is the best concealer for forearms. I'm so embarrassed by these. Sick of hiding them and or explaining what they are. Thanks!
Hi, I noticed that Clinique Broad Spectrum SPF50 Sunscreen Body Cream is out of stock. Does anyone know if it is discontinued? Can someone someone tell me if they will be back in stock soon or not please? Susan
For some time now I have been noticing my face is red. It's a pale pink everywhere but my cheek area is red! My nose is dry and just before you get to my cheeks from my nose, it's dry too! I'm now 33 and I need something to help get rid of the redness along with my dry nose (which btw has blackheads at times). I need something for that and I would love something that would be great for my age. Maybe anti aging? Serious help needed lol! SO... my ultimate question is, What skin care line/brand would you recommend for someone with these issues and my age. TIA Spoiler (Highlight to read)
So if you haven't heard about LUSH's product Lovely Jubblies, it's basically a skin tightening product that can be used all over the body to help firm up the skin and make things a bit perkier. Thing is, I want to use this on my breasts but I have no clue on where to apply it. I am a B cup and already pretty perky but my bikini makes my **bleep** look small, so I want them to have a little lift when I where the bikini. Any tips on where to put the cream or any other products that may help?
I have been eyeing Creme de la mer for almost 2 years now, I read up on the history of the creator and what the ingredients are. I've read reviews, the majority of which are in the 4-5 star range, and I've reassessed my skincare needs over and over again. I am finally at the point where I have pretty much used up all the face products I accumulated (Clinique, Perricone, and Shisedio)...I told myself if I waited and used up all my stuff, that I could go ahead and splurge on a LaMer face cream. So now that I am on the brink of spending a few hundred dollars, I wanted to ask everyone what their opinion is..have you tried it? Know someone who swears by? I really really want to buy it, but I will only feel good about it if I cover my bases before I do. Thanks,
