I'm 32 years old and live in Mississauga. I have seen few lines coming and wrinkles under my eyes. I thought of using anti wrinkle cream to get rid of it. I feel very much depressed when everyone asks me if I'm in my 50's, so one of my friends asked me to go for the non-surgical procedure from mclean clinic in my locality ( http://www.mcleanclinic.com/nonsurgical-procedures /non-surgical/lines-wrinkles/ ). I have just heard about injectable fillers and botox treatment but don't know much about it. I would like to know if I should consider non-surgical procedure or buy good products that help to get rid of it. Also, I would love to get advice on great products or remedies.
I have super sensitive skin! I have been using EL's Calming Fluid since its conception...20 some years ago. It has been discontinued and I am running out of time to find a replacement. Searching for help...
A dry sunblock in a powdered form to reapply over my makeup during the day. Bonus if it is mattifying! I've researched and seen recs for Peter Thomas Roth, Bare Minerals, e.l.f., and Colorscience, but they are either out of my price range or discontinued or unavailable in Canada. Thanks!
Hey everyone! For the last month or so the skin on my hands has been peeling, dry, and itchy. I've tried everything I can think of (including exfoliating and using FAB, my go-to for any skin issues) but it just seems to be getting worse! Does anyone have any ideas/product recommendations for me?
Hello, please help! Recently I have been on a quest to sooth my never-ending year round dry skin. Im 24 and my skin looks like I'm 80, I have cracks and alligator looking skin all over my body. I get flakes on my forearms, love handle area, and my shins. I just went to a dermatologist yesterday and he wasn't a ton of help but I learned to shower for no more than 5 minutes in luke-warm water, and use a a mild cleanser. I have to admit that due to a lack of knowledge I am guilt of all of this. I not sure which is a good mild body cleaser, suggestion? I also learned that showering everyday can cause dry skin, but I workout really hard everyday and I feel gross if I don't shower. However, if showering everyday is causing my dry skin then I should hold back, but I don't want to always feel sweaty and gross. Im really unsure how to properly care for my skin for it to not feel so tight, and dry. Please give me some knowledge ! Thank you!
Do you agree with her views on skincare products? I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay. Examples: - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts. - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse. Products she gave a "poor" rating to: - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid. - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1. - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time... Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.
Hello lovelies! I got burnt after my brazilian wax a couple months ago and the scar is still there. The burn is right next to my bikini line (very visible when I'm wearing a bikini) and it makes me feel very uncomfortable. The skin is very wrinkly and extremely dark. It was very itchy at the beginning and I didn't know it was a burn so I just applied some soothing cream and kept it moisturized. I went to a new place yesterday and the waxing lady told me I could get a chemical peel on the whole bikini area to help with the scaring and the hyper-pigmentation but it sounds a little scary. My skin is very sensitive and prone to ingrown and the skin on my inner thighs is a little darker compared to the rest of my body so I'm a little self conscious about that. I also thought about using peels like DDG or OH Lemon Peel on the skin around the bikini line to help with the scar but I don't know if it's a good idea. Please let me know your thoughts/ experiences if you ever had to deal with hyper-pigmentation or any type of scars in the bikini area. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hey, i'd like to know what moisturizer to use on my face before applying makeup. I normally apply moisturizer then primer, then foundation. I'm currently using a knock-off of the POND'S. My skin is normal, not dry or anything.
Hi girls! I'm wondering what do you use for your creams that are in jars, instead of your fingers ? I used to use my hands to apply a face cream, but I've reading so much how there are too many germs and it's not recommended to put your fingers in any beauty product. Any suggestions?
I have had a problem with the blackheads on my nose for about 15 years. I have otherwise near-perfect skin which is slightly dehydrated, but have never suffered from acne or oiliness. The pore problem is isolated to just my nose, which is also rather large. What I am currently doing to get rid of them is using a pore strip after a steamy shower, then gently exfoliating my face and following up with a charcoal mud mask. This gets rid of them... BUT! I have to repeat the process within 3 days, and I am so tired of doing this. I have done so much research about the topic, and I know someone is bound to respond to this with "Don't use pore strips. They stretch out your pores and make them worse. If you stop using them, the blackheads will go away," but the blackheads are literally so bad that I cannot not be seen in public without clearing them first. The blackheads are 3-D, and stick out of my skin so I can literally feel them when I run my finger along my nose. (Did I mention I have a big nose? The blackheads are very noticeable!) Also, I have tried abstaining from using pore strips for a long time while being diligent with my normal skincare routine, and the blackheads did not just "go away." Below is a list of other products which I have tried to remedy the problem with: Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment Caolion Premium Blackhead Steam Pore Pack Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask Tony Moly Blackhead Out Oil Gel Clarisonic Cleansing System the entire line of Dr. Brandt "Pores no More" I'm sure I am forgetting even more products which I have used, but NONE of these has helped my nose pores, and I am really open to any suggestions at this point. Has anyone with this problem found a method to fix it? What should I be doing differently? Any advice will help. Thank you so much!
I really want to get one of these to add to my daily routine. I just don't know which one to get. The Foreo Luna is obviously more money up front, but you have to buy replacement heads for the Clarisonic. So in the end the Clarisonic will cost more. Honestly with price aside which one do you ladies like more?
Hi, im looking for a skin mask or cream that will help with blotchiness from previous acne damage. I have oily skin and a lot of redness. My makeup does cover up a lot of the of the imperfections, however, they are still visible and i would like to get something that will help me get a more even skintone. I looked at the charcoal masks and red clay mask, but not sure what i best. Can your recommend something? Thank you!
Hello, I need a recommendation for a good moiturizer with sunscreen for my husband. He has rather sensitive skin, combo, a lot of redness & sun damage. He does not want something in a jar. It needs to be a pump or tube. Something that does not sit on top of his skin & make it white all day. Thank you!
I'm thinking about trying 2% over the counter hydroquinone cream. I've heard some scary side effects, but I've also heard people say nothing else works as well but laser. I'm aware of some of the more frightening side effects like thickening of skin, black/blue skin discoloration. From what I've read these aren't very common, and when they do occur, are from continuous use for a year or more. I've also heard some people say their dark spots got darker, but haven't seen too much on this. I'm also aware you must use sunscreen (which I do anyways). I was looking at the brand Black and White Bleaching Cream. Has anyone tried this or any other hydroquinone cream? I'd really like to hear other people's experience with hydroquinone. Please let me know the amazing, good, bad, or terrible experiences you've had! Just for reference: I'm fair/light (NC15ish), neutral skin tone. I'm allergic to chemical sunscreen. So I'd like to avoid any creams with spf in it, and just use my physical sunscreen when needed. I have a sunspot (potentially melasma, not sure since it's not on the other side of my face), and a couple sun freckles I'd like to get rid of.
I use luna/good genes each other day and use FAB exfoliating pads once a day as a toner. Do you suggest me doing a peeling or exfoliator once a week or would it be too much? I have hormonal acne and take medication. I found exfoliating my skin help a lot for texture and dark spot. I'm not realy sentitive but my skin is very flaky if I don't use daily exfoliation. Any suggestion of product or routine is welcome too!
I have had these black spots on my face for some time a couple of years and I'd really like to know if there are any good products to fade them out?I guess at most i can spend $30 so I hope you recommend products that aren't too pricey.
So, I have always thought that I had super oily skin, and I still believe that I do. My t-zone is always a disaster, however, I have also been really dry and my skin has been burning. I don't know what to use to correct my skin, any advice?
Hi, My skin is extremely sensitive and eczema prone. I have had some problems finding a new facewash--everything makes me blotchy and red, or just dries my skin out. I started looking for a new facewash a few weeks ago after Glamglow Supercleanse caused me a bad reaction (burned my skin, redness and discoloration) after about 3 months of use, daily. I switched to Ole Henricken Pure Truth, with no luck. I have had bad experiences with Boscia, Murad, Philosophy and Fresh. I am allergic to soy, parabens, some sulfates, and salycic acid (white willow bark). Any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.
I came in a few weeks ago with a super sunburned face that felt like it was on fire. one of the employees put a skin care product on me with a cotton pad that was milky looking, instantly calmed and cooled everything down, and I didn't have to wipe it off afterwards. It even took away most of the redness, but I cant remember what the product is called someone help me!!
hi im a 17 year old, i have oily, acne prone skin i was wondering if anybody has a good skin care routine for this type of skin that they would like to share or any advice on what products to use as i am unsure, thank you in advance.
Hello beauty expert, I've had problems with my skin ever since I could remember. I had acne as a teenager so I believe that most of it is acne scarring but I inserted a picture to ask for help in identifying what is really wrong with my skin and hopefully you can recommend a product that will help get rid of this. There is nothing more that I want than a nice, clear face! Right now I am using Biotherm which I feel like has done nothing for my skin, I just don't know what other products to use. Thank you and hopefully you can help me out.
I am a sunless tanner and have been for years but, I recently within the last year have developed a severe allergy to Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). I was a big St. Tropez fan but, cannot use it anymore without developing a horrible itchy/bumpy rash. I have even tried other brands thinking maybe it was just the St Tropez but, I've gotten the reaction with everything that I've tried. Does anyone know of a good Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) free sunless tanner? Help! I'm pale and desperate for a little sun(less!)tan!
I bought three different 24k Donna Bella products from Hautelook recently because I thought it was a much less expensive way to try the brand. I tried one of the products the other night - the 24k Deep Facial Peeling. It left an awful gum residue on my face that actually balled up and got stuck on every facial hair on my lower jaw/chin area. I had to use alcohol to remove it. I am wondering if Hautelook sold expired or bad product? It is also a non-returnable final-sale item, and Hautelook is refusing to take it back. Has anyone else tried this product? If so, does it really do this, or did I get a bad product? I am now afraid to try the other products I bought because I have to wonder about their freshness/authenticity. Thanks!
Circumstances have been rough, and I've had an "ugly cry" an average of 2-3 times per week for the past 3 years. I notice much more bagging and wrinkling around my eyes, even on days when I haven't been crying. Can crying cause damage? Will it reverse itself if you stop crying regularly? Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Thanks!
