Before I turned 19 i've never had a problem with my skin. Although, after I turned 19 my face went crazy! It's oily now, I'll have a mild acne flare up, I have redness on my nose, cheek bones, and now i have dark circles. what's happened?!?! I've tried everything! I'm needing advice for those that have this similar problem, please! I do not have combination skin, it's just oily. I moisturize everyday, one with spf in the morning and a ligt moisturizer at night. I stopped using face washes with benzoyl per. and sylicic acid because I noticed they make me breakout more and make my red problem areas redder! I am currently using the clean and clear morning burst wash and noticed it's helping, but i'll still breakout minimally here and there. I also need advice on a great concealer, because I had to give up my love for blush at the moment So if anyone knows any awesome high end or drugstore products that will help my problems that'd be great! I was also wanting to know how great the clarisonic is for anyone.. I am using the Olay doop for it right now but it doesn't work up to it's potential. Thanks!
Re: Skin Help!
Hi BrittS24, yes, Nebel is correct, our skin changes a lot as we age. You will most likely experience many more changes in the coming years (yay). It does take about 8 weeks to see results with any new product, so don't expect to see your skin clear up overnight. Since you seem to be sensitive to salicylic acid & benzoyl peroxide, you might want to try sulfur products. Sulfur helps to clear up acne without over-drying your skin. Take a look at these:
First Aid Beauty Anti-Redness Serum
Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Masque Acne Treatment Masque
Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment
Re: Skin Help!
What happened is as we age, our hormone levels change, and this can show up on our skin. As you get older, your skin will change again, for better or for worse..
With acne, as you will see on these boards, everyone's face reacts differently to different products. You need to be patient and take it easy. Skin does not react overnight to a new regimen- it can take two months to see results.
I really like the First Aid Beauty line- it is great for sensitive/red skin.
