Hey ![]()
I am not really sure if anyone has a similar issue or not but when it comes to using eye shadows on my eyes, my right eye always starts to get wet on the inner top corner, causing the make up to smear and come off. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone before and what their fix was, I would really love to be able to do cool things with my eye shadow instead of being binded to wearing just mascara all the time.
Thanks!

I have this exact issue, only it's usually my left eye. It's not an allergy issue, at least for me. Chances are if it's only ONE eye, it's not an allergy, but an application issue. My left eye is smaller and a slightly different shape than my right eye ( I'm sure only I would notice this-- it's not obvious). But I have to be VERY cautious about not getting any eyeshadow, eyeliner, or eye primer on my tear ducts. If you get any products too close to the tear ducts of your upper or lower waterline, they will doe exactly what they are designed to do: water like crazy to remove the foreign object!! So apply makeup and moisturizers with extreme precision in the eye area to avoid this issue. And if you do manage to get product there and the eye starts to tngle and/or water, take a dry q tip and try to gently remove product from the area and when it stops tearing, fix any makeup that has come off of that area, avoiding the tear duct.
Once I figured this out, I stopped having this problem!
Good luck!

I found out my dry eyes were causing my eyes to water. Go figure? I was advised to start using moisturizing eye drops (not Visine etc.) on a regular basis & my eyes stopped watering so much.
In the meantime give Blinc products a try. The mascara holds up amazingly to watery eyes and I've heard the same is true re the eye liner but I've not tried it myself. It's true it won't give you as much fullness etc as some but with a little practice you can get great results. I've turned a number of my 50 something friends as well as my 27 year old daughter into Blinc devotees because it holds up so well!!! Give it a try!

I agree it sounds like you are having an allergic reaction - do your eyes only water when you're wearing eye makeup? I would try a hypoallergenic line of makeup.

I have the same exact problem and even eye shadow primer doesn't work
Definetly wear waterproof liner and mascara. Apparently the Veil by Hourglass makes EVERYTHING waterproof. I've never tried it on my eyes though but I hear it's okay to do. Other than that, carry cotton-tip applicators with you! Also, I have really bad allergies so I blame it on that for the watery eyes, take a Claritin maybe?

Do you wear an eyeshadow primer? If not, you need a good eyeshadow primer to make your eyeshadow stay on your eyelid and not move its way into your eye. Two great primers are:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P74
Too Faced Shadow Insurance: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P20
I hope this helps you. ![]()
