what is good to treat dark spots?

Re: what is good to treat dark spots?

Serums are treatment that penetrate deep into the skin, look for those that contains vitamin C, niacinamide, licorice extract or kojic acid.

Peels are meant to be used 2-3 times a week and are more heavy duty. Look for those that contains glycolic acid or enzymes.

While there are brightening moisturizers, toners, cleansers etc, they don't contain as much active ingredients so they won't be as effective in brightening. Look for serums/peels with those ingredients to treat dark spots, but make sure to wear a good/high SPF during the day as well to prevent sensitivity and future/further dark spots from forming.

Hi IvieMakeup,

Could you tell us a little more about your current skincare routine, and where you'd like to fit in a dark spot treatment? Also, does your skin tend to be sensitive at all, and if so, do you know what ingredients can tend to set it off?

Thanks!

-Stephanie
