I have so many small bumps all over my face. I don't know if it's keratosis pilaris or milia or clogged pores I just really want to get rid of them. I've always suffered from acne, and I've come along way, it's just these **bleep** small bumps!
Ok, this is going to be long....hopefully someone can give me some advice. I found the Blemish Banisher kit on Sephora.com and picked it up in the store. My acne breakouts have been crazy lately and all the great reviews gave me so much hope that maybe this could be the thing to finally turn my skin around. The first night I used the kit, it immediately made my skin feel better. The next morning, the EradiKate had significantly reduced the size and redness of my cystic pimples. Fast forward a about four more days, and my skin is SO ITCHY and dry! I also first noticed a patch of little itchy bumps, like a rash, on my left cheek. Today I noticed it on the other side two in two different places. Tonight the itching on my face is bothering me so much I just can't use the kit whatsoever, even though I really wish I could apply the EradiKate again because it has been helping my pimples decrease in size a lot which is nice. Downside though is I am breaking out more after starting to use this, but not sure if it was caused by the kit or it was just going to happen anyways. I do find the Detox Cleanser to be a little drying (once I rinse it off, my face feels more tight), and the Oil Free Moisturizer stings a little when I apply it. I wouldn't consider my skin to be sensitive to products whatsoever. Even though I have acne prone skin, nothing has ever given me a rash or adverse reaction. I've gotten dry skin from overwashing or using harsh products with 10% benzoyl peroxide, etc....but never this bad and usually it was during the winter and I just didn't moisturize enough. I've been using this kit as directed, and I think the EradiKate is the reason behind the dry itchy skin but the rashes I honestly have no idea how those came about because i don't apply the EradiKate anywhere near over on the sides of my cheeks (I do not have acne there)... Has anyone else had a not so great experience with it? Should I only not be using EradiKate every night? Also, the EradiKate is supposed to dry up the pimples...but how do I remove all that dry skin afterwards (like going out the next day and not having flakes everywhere?)...simply moisturizing doesn't help. I feel like exfoliating would be the only thing to help but that would further irritate my skin. Not to mention, I'm breaking out even more.. ANY advice would be appreciated. Maybe I should just try Philosophy's Clear Days Ahead kit...I don't know.
What are your thoughts on the new Clinique acne solutions acne + line correcting serum? Is it good for combo oily/sensitive/acne prone skin? Is it safe to use while on a prescription retinoid like Tazorac, and how has it worked for your skin? Thanks!
I'm debating on trying the Clinique Turnaround Radiance Peel set for my cystic acne red hyperpigmentation. I have fair skin that is slightly sensitive, and responds pretty well to salicylic acid. Any advice with this peel/other peels for this issue would be appreciated. Thanks!
My skin is in a rough state after dealing with acne for the past 9 years of my life. I have been on a topical medication for 8 years (benzoyl peroxide 10%, clindamycin phosphate gel) that I apply every night. It keeps my acne under control however I still have acne and am never 100% pimple-free. Because I have had acne for so long and have unfortunately picked nearly every pimple I've had, I have red marks all over my face that make my skin appear 10x worse than it is. I'm considering laser at this point, but would love to hear of any tried and true products that people have used. I'm currently using a gentle exfoliating toner by Pixi, Ole's Truth Serum in the AM (although I've heard vitamin C only fades brown spots/hyperpigmentation and not post-acne marks), First Aid Beauty's Oil-Free Moisturizer, Ole's Aloe Cleanser at night with my Clarisonic, followed by Murad's post-acne lightening serum, then my acne medication and Josie Maran's Light Argan Oil. I have only been using the acne lightening serum for about a week so I am hoping that will start to work eventually. What products have you tried that have successfully faded your post-acne marks?
So I just turned seventeen and up until a few months ago I had nearly perfect skin, besides the occasional breakout, but for the last few months my skin has gone literally crazy. I'm probably being a little dramatic but I'm not used to acne and I want to get rid of it! I get hormonal acne every time of the month (which I don't really mind it's usually one or two spots on my chin). But for the first time ever I've broken out on my forehead and cheeks! I have normal-combination skin. 90% of the time it's normal, oily in the summer, dry in the winter. It's not very sensitive though. I can't go on the pill due to personal reasons and I feel like I've tried everything but nothings worked! I'm eating healthier, working out, and trying not to stress so much (I'm really bad at that). I'm going to Sephora this weekend with a friend and I really want to pick up something for my skin. Any suggestions? p.s. my breakouts are mild, and usually form white heads overtime but they take ages to go away.
I am 15 years old and for the last year, my skin has been getting worse. I have been struggling to find products and routines that actually work. My acne has become one of my most self aware flaws and I have a hard time being confident in my own skin when my skin looks bad. I have combination skin and a lot of acne in my T-zone and on my chin as well as blackheads and small bumps that I just can't get control of. I am in desperate need for products and routines that work. PLEASE HELP
Hey! I have oily, acne (I have moderate to severe acne) prone skin and I have quite a bit of scarring. I'm looking for a cleanser that'll help me. (I just bought the Foreo Luna, so I'd prefer recommendations compatible with it). I'm out of ideas, to be honest. I tried the Murad cleanser for a few months but it didn't seem to help :/ If y'all could recommend some cleansers/toners, I'd be grateful. Thanks!
What is the BEST routine that actually gets rid of acne. I have tried everything from Neutrogena to the Clarisonic and nothing has worked. The suggested products could either be high end or drugstore. I have teen acne and combination/oily skin. Thank you so much for helping!
As embarrassing as this is to admit, I have really bad body acne. It's not so bad on my face, but it's definitely a problem on my back, my shoulders, my chest, and even my neck. It's getting to the point where it's brought my confidence down so much that I try to avoid anything that shows my back at all - swimsuits, tanktops, strapless dresses. I'm already on birth control (I know that's a touchy thing for some people for it's honestly for my acne), I use the Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash, I try not to wear things that are too tight or potentially bad for my skin, and I even put my hair up in the shower when I have conditioner in it. Last year, a dermatologist put me on doxycycline - which if you've tried it, you know what a living hell it is. It made my skin so sensitive to the sun that my knuckles burnt when I was outside for fifteen minutes. Also, you can't have dairy like two hours before or after taking it, and you have to wait about thirty minutes after taking it to lay down. It's needless to say that it was too high maintenance, so I stopped taking it. I'm really not comfortable taking Accutane because of all the side effects and whatnot, but I really need to solve this problem. I don't work out at all, and I don't always eat so healthy (I don't have any weight issues as a result of this, thank god, but I honestly have trouble running two blocks or walking up stairs), but I know that's probably factoring into my skin. I'm sixteen years old and I really need to get rid of this. I know what a schpeel this has been, but if anyone has any advice for this or miracle products (not including proactiv and accutane) it's greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
Hello! I've been wanting to try the beauty and cleansing oils for a bit now, and I've read tons of online product reviews but I would really like to know which ones everyone loves! Skin Background: acne-prone skin and sensitive, oily. Thank you in advance!!
Spoiler (Highlight to read) Spoiler (Highlight to read) Spoiler (Highlight to read) HI, I have been using Proactiv for about a year now, but realized how ridiculously priced it is. I was paying over $100 for a "three month" supply. Even though the 1 month supply was the just a tad smaller! Anyways, It didn't work amazingly that i thought it was worth it. So I am looking for an alternative and i am willing to pay a pretty penny for something that works. I have Oily, sensitive skin that i usually break out easily. Proactiv, and the Target brand of Apricot scrubs have been the only things in the past that have worked for me. I have been to a dermatologist and had no luck I am open to all suggestions!! *PS i do not know how to get rid of the spoiler tab??
Has anyone here ever had cystic acne and have been able to get rid of it? Mine always seems to flare up around my time of the month but it's so annoying because it takes months to fully heal and so,rites I am left with scarring. Does anyone have a solution? My skin is combination... Oily on my t-zone and chin but dry around my hairline and eyes sometimes. Any kind of help would be appreciated! Just frustrated!
The only big acne issue I have ever had with my face is the pimple that occurs over and over again in the middle of my forehead, slightly above my eyebrows. Sometimes a cluster of littler pimples will accompany it, sometimes it is painful and swollen under the skin, and sometimes it is a normal, single whitehead. I have had this issue since the beginning of high school, and am now a sophomore in college. At some points in time it will disappear, but at those times I must keep applying acne spot cream to the area or it will reappear. However, currently, it has not gone away fully since February when I went down south to Georgia. It will shrink and become very small at best. Right now it is small with no head and sparse, little pimples beneath it. It is so annoying and makes me very self conscious because it is so noticeable!!! My skin is very dry and this area will start to peel and look cakey under makeup. Also, I have small texture bumps on the bottom of my cheeks near my jaw line which do not go away either, but they are not pimples. If anyone could help with this I would be so grateful. (-: Skin Care Routine: -Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Cleanser - Clean & Clear Toner (only on problem areas) - Kate Somerville ExfoliKate (every other day) -Origins Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gel -Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + -Clinique All About Eyes Rich - Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask (Every 2-3 Days) -Ole Henriksen Lemon Strip Flash Peel (once a week) (I've used 100% Argan Oil in the past) ***I have had my pimple issue prior to using these products
I have a lot of blackheads on my forehead, nose and a few on my chin. I've tried a lot, but I can't seem to get rid of them! Is there a mask, cleanser or anything else I can try to make them disappear? I recently bought the clarisonic mia and I'm using it with philosophys purity made simple. It has helped a little, but I want these blackheads to be gone!
I have really bad acne scars beginning from when I was a teenager (about 10 years ago) until about a year ago from my adult acne, I finally have it under control and would like to start mitigating the scars, but I am unfamiliar with the products. I've tried EVERYTHING! Murad? Kate Sommerville? Clairsonic? I am looking for any advice on my never ending skin problems. I just turned thirty and for as long as I can possibly remember I've had problem skin. I get acne breakouts---the worst being hormonal break outs around my cycle. I get blackheads, white heads, large blemishes, small blemishes---you name it. Unfortunately it is not only on my face but also on my neck, chest and back. It feels like I have tried everything. From perscription remedies from my dermatologist, acutane and I am sure I have spent a small fortune on skin care products. I am currently using Kiehl's products. I have been using them since October and I have seen minimal results. I have heard good things about Kate Sommerville, Murad and the Clairsonic but before I change my skin care line once again I thought I would get as much advice as possible to avoid spending more money! Please! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Hi Everyone! I'm seeing that a lot of people are having great results with the Clarisonic as far as clearing up their acne. I have a Clarisonic but I don't think it is helping. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? How often should I be using it to see results? My face is oily on my nose but dry everywhere else and I have really bad under the skin bumps (not so much active whitehead acne). Any advice would be very helpful! Thank you!
Hi, Sorry if this is long, but I really need help with starting a whole new skin care routine and curing my acne. Please bear with me! I am a 19 year old college student who has absolutely no idea what she is doing when it comes to skin care. (Honestly, I will probably be posting a whole different post about makeup too.) My skin was doing well during the summer, but once I came back to start my sophomore year, my skin began to act against me. The place my skin likes to breakout the most seems to be in between my eyebrows and all over my forehead. Recently, I have also been getting two or three zits on my cheeks, around my mouth, and under my chin. Some of these zits have gone away, but they have left scars that honestly look like I still have a zit. I have been trying different products these past few months, but nothing seems to be working. About my skin: I have combination skin: Oily T-zone, and fairly normal skin on my cheeks. My main problems that I would like to fix : (from top priority to it would be a nice addition ) -The cluster of acne in between my brows and on my forehead. This acne is mainly just bright red dots; only a few are painful. Reducing redness would be great as well. -Getting rid of the red scars that have grown on my forehead and between the brows. -The others places I have been breaking out: chin and cheeks (mild) -Shine/oil control -Pore minimizing My current skin care routine: I wash my face both in the morning and at night: neutrogena facial soap bar, then Clinique toner (purple one), then Clinique yellow moisturizer. I exfoliate with St. Ives apricot scrub around 3 times a week. Sometimes I do masks but I have been slacking. I also use neutrogena eye makeup remover and burt's bees grapefruit face wipes. I am fairly active. My college requires a ton of walking every day, but I do not go to the gym or sweat a bunch. My diet is healthy with lots of fruits and veggies, but honestly it could probably be better. I also 100% make sure to drink 7-8 glasses of water a day. Really, I'm looking for a new skin care routine that will help solve my skin problems. I need a whole new cleanser, toner, moisturizer, mask, exfoilator, acne treatment, etc. I am open to ANY suggestions and feel free to load on the advice about better ways to take care of my poor face. Preferably, any products under $40 would be wonderful. If you really want to suggest a product that is high price but you believe it will help me, feel free! I can always save up. I like to use products that are fairly natural (but they don't necessarily have to be.) I need serious help because I feel so self-conscious about my face and it's a pure struggle to be in college with this problem. I seriously appreciate any sort of help. Details on how to go about the new routine would be awesome. I literally have no knowledge when it comes to this. If you need any other information, just ask! Thanks a bunch
I have oily, acne prone, skin that is also red due to acne/acne scars. I am sensitve to tea tree products and things with lavender. Looking for a AM/PM lotion that won't break me out and will help with oilyness. Any other skin care regime products are appreciated.
I usually only get a monthly hormonal break out on my chin. I bought the Mia a month ago and my skin has been purging ever since. I have been breaking out for 4 weeks straight. How long does this purge usually last? Is that what Im experiancing, or do I need to switch to a sensitive brush head, or stop using the Mia all together? I havent changed anything else in my routine, I'm using the same cleanser, the same moisturizer, same serum, same foundation, same everything. Please help.
I've never had a bad breakout in my life, but my first few weeks at my humid college apartment (no AC! Wah!) really ruined my back/shoulders. I have this nasty trail of pink/purple scars all down my bra strap line. I've never dealt with acne scars. I have NO idea what to use. I'm going home for Columbus Day weekend and want to stop by Sephora to buy something. Thoughts? Thanks so much!
Hi everyone! I will be starting Accutane treatment this fall for acne in my T-zone, and I will need a new daily makeup routine to deal with dry, flaky skin. I'm very, very self conscious without makeup, so going fresh-faced probably won't be an option. I have very sensitive, very pale skin, and I'm worried that my usual makeup will look weird and fake if my skin is flaking. It would be amazing if y'all could help me choose some products for daily use! Thanks! This is what makeup I wear on a daily basis: -primer -foundation -concealer -powder -blush -highlighter -bronzer -nude eyeshadow -eyeliner (pencil) -mascara -lip gloss So if y'all could help me find moisturizing products that won't look conspicuous with dry skin, that would be amazing! Oh, and one last thing: my Sephora+Pantone Color ID is 1R02! Thanks so much!
I'm on acne medication right now (Differin in the evening, clindamycin phosphate topical lotion in the morning, and an oral antibiotic) and my acne has gotten a lot better! However, my skin has now transitioned from just oily to combo/oily/acne-prone and very very sensitive. In the evening I use the acne line from Mario Badescu skin care and I love love love it. In the morning I use a drugstore cleanser called Biore because I think it helped with my VERY oily skin a little bit before I went on the meds. But I've noticed that both cleansers (MB and Biore) have stung/burned a bit. My skin doesn't react to it the instant I put it on, but more like after I start rubbing it into my skin a bit (with a very gentle hand, too.) So I'm looking for a cleanser (1 for both M/E is fine, but 2 seperate ones are okay too,) that helps keep my skin clear without any acne-fighting ingredients because my skin's already getting that from my acne meds. I want a gentle cleanser that keeps my skin clear, and also helps with a lot of the redness, uneven skin tone/dark spots/hyper pigmentation, very large pores and oily skin that I have right now. On top of that cleanser, are there any serums or moisturizers or something else that I could also use? I've tried a small sample of Murad's Pore and Line Hydrator and I absolutely love it. I haven't seen a difference in my pore size (because I only have a sample,) but the moisturizer is extremely light weight (more than Clinique's Dramatically Different Gel, which I've been using for MONTHS and I also really love. But I think I like Murad's better.) I've also used FAB's Anti-Redness Serum and I loved the lightweight gel feel of it. I think I might go and purchase that and use it instead of Clinique's Redness Solutions (I find it to be too heavy for my oily skin and pores.) Any recommendations? If so, please let me know the formulation/texture of the product and how it felt and looked on your skin. Thank you!!
