I was wondering as to what you guys think are the best products for blackheads. I have a lot on my cheeks and nose and I want to get rid of them. So what do you think are products that are worth the money?
I get hormonal, cystic acne along my jawline. I don't want to take birth control forever, and I am looking for skincare products that will reduce/eliminate the cysts. Any ideas if the Murad line works for this? Thanks!
I have been struggling with acne scars for the past few years now. It seems like any time acne emerges on my face it ALWAYS leaves a mark once it goes away even though I dont pop it or anything I just let it run its course and go away and it is VERY frustrating as you could imagine. I have tried a few "dark spot" serums which have helped fade some scars slightly but not much of a difference. Also, they arent really dark spots they are a reddish/pink it makes it look like there is a pimple there still but there isnt. Its just a flat reddish/pink spot where the acne used to be. It makes it look like it is active acne when in fact it is not it is just the old place where it was before. These scars or "spots" are the only reason that I wear foundation and I wish I knew of a product that could get rid of them so I wouldnt have to continue wearing foundation a lot. Any suggestions? Also, The previous serum i used was the Dr. Brandt dark spot serum which again faded very slightly but not much. Looking for better results in a new producut!!
I really need some advice. I have quite a few whiteheads on my forehead and a few on my cheeks. I've tried a couple of drugstore creams and facial cleansers, but they either don't work or are much too harsh for my extremely allergy-prone skin. My skin is also extremely oily. I have tried a few facial washes, creams, and gels with salicyic acid, and they didn't seem to do much of anything. I followed the package directions and applied it 2-3 times a week for about a month. But there was no real change in my whiteheads. I was thinking of trying an acne cream with benzoil peroxide, but it says on the package not to use if you have very sensitive skin. Can someone please recommend a facial cleanser, cream, or gel that will help clear up my whiteheads? I don't want something super expensive. I've been thinking of maybe trying something from Clinique, but I don't know what. I was also wondering if a toner or astringent would help? I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do next. Any advice or recommendations would be very helpful. Thank you!
I have so many small bumps all over my face. I don't know if it's keratosis pilaris or milia or clogged pores I just really want to get rid of them. I've always suffered from acne, and I've come along way, it's just these **bleep** small bumps!
I am getting over a bad break out due to dreaded hormones I am assuming. I have it under control now, but I am still getting pimples mainly on my jawline and a little on my cheeks. Nothing too severe, but it's annoying. I only have a few active pimples right now, which are located on my jawline, and one little cyst on my chin. (Which THANK THE LORD is going away with just BP cream.) I still have a good amount of acne scars on my face. Mainly on my right cheek. There is this massive scar that was two angry zits together, and now it's just a glob of ugly, weird, purple/red scar that takes a while to conceal. Anyway, I was wondering if the Clarisonic was worth the money? Will it help my hormonal breakouts get under control when I have them, and also my just regular breakouts? Will it help my scars possibly fade faster? Another quick question to add to this: What's a good acne scar cream for my face that is under $50? Thanks!! xoxoxoxoxoxoox
Hi all! I was wondering if any of you might be willing to give me some advice on my skin care routine because I have been looking over some of the posts on here and so many of you seem so kind and knowledgeable. I am 27 years old, my esthetician says my skin is “slightly oily,” and I have been dealing with acne for the past 2 years. I get cystic acne on my chin and lower cheeks and sometimes the occasional small bump elsewhere. I have some blackheads on my nose, middle of my cheeks, and chin. My skin is quite fair so I have red post-acne marks left behind for many months once the acne is gone. I have eliminated most of my acne with the products I am using now and by having a salicylic acid peel at the dermatologist’s office every two weeks for the past couple of months. I don’t really like the products she offers because they have parabens. I used to use much more natural products; now I will use pretty much anything, but I really would like to still avoid parabens if possible. I currently use: NeoStrata Antibacterial Facial Cleanser 2x daily (I use my Clarisonic Plus at night) Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion on any active spots at night Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation at night Juice Beauty SPF 30 moisturizer during the day Origins Charcoal Mask about once a week Salicylic acid peel at derm’s office every two weeks Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation, Tarte Amazonian Clay concealer, Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder, and Korres blush a few days a week. Even though things have been looking better, I feel like there has got to be another product or two that could rid my face of the rest of my active acne and post-acne red marks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I am looking for an effective acne treatment for sensitive skin. My skin type is combination and the acne is just small under-the-skin bumps. Although my acne isn't too severe, I am looking for a a product to provide treatment and prevent future breakouts. I have already tried Dr. Brandt Blemishes No More and Dr. Brandt Pores No More, but they haven't met my expectations. Thanks!
I just picked up these vitamins about a month ago from an online order. I was in my local Sephora the other day and noticed that the bottles in the store had stickers on them that said something along the lines of "NEW" or "Now Even Better", I can't remember exactly. So....does anybody know what's up with this?
I hate acne products that bleach my pillow. I want to try this body spray before attending some summer weddings where I'll want a totally clear back, but it's not worth messing up all of my clothes and sheets.
I'm dying to know if anyone has had a similar experience!! I used my Clarisonic Mia faithfully for 6 months. It seemed my face would get worse, then clear up, get worse, clear up.....and so on. I stopped using it in mid-March due to a nasty sunburn I got while in Florida, here we are, it's almost May and I haven't touched it once....my skin hasn't looked this good in a loooong time and of course I'm thrilled, but did I waste time and money on the Clarisonic?? I don't doubt the brush itself, the company or any of their products but my mind is boggled anyway! Toward the end of my Florida vacation, the sunburn healed and my face seemed clearer...so I kinda tested the whole situation and stopped using the brush, trying to see if there was a correlation. I'd love to hear some input on this, the Clarisonic is collecting dust..... Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Wednesday I woke up with one red dot at the top of my forehead, right next to my hair line. Thursday there was a pimple and a scab. Friday it my entire forehead is breaking out, plus a few lower on my forehead, still near my hair line. I did not change any makeup, skin care or hair products. I went to sephora on Thursday, but only tried on a lip stick. I also went to lush and got a refill of the cleanser I use. Nothing new or different. I have very dry sensitive skin. I'm religious about cleansing and moisturizing. I have a very solid skin regime I occasionally will get a pimple. But one, maybe two at the same time is the most. Nothing like this! I can't understand it. I can't get in to see my dermatologist until the end of the month. I need help! What can I do!?
I don't think Sephora carries it yet. It's new on the Philosphy website. But I'm looking for a new cleanser and was just wondering if it's right for me. I'm using Philosphys Help Me Retinol and a Clarisonic. I've also been doing weekly at home chemical peels (30% Glycolic acid). I usually only break out around my period, but I still have lots of clogged pores in my t-zone and a few old acne scars I can't get rid of. I think the lactic acid would help but I don't know if it would be too much on my skin considering the other stuff I'm currently using. What do you think? My skin is not senstitive. I have combination skin. The website doesn't say the lactic acid % but it's the fifth ingredient on the list. Thanks!
Ayeeee! and YAY!! I have finally cleared up my skin but still do get some breakouts but not much but what is left over are acne scars. I have tried home remedies which don't work and Bio-Oil which is fading them away but slowly. I would really like a gentle yet effective acne scarring serum or medication or what ever. Please help! Thanks!
I am 18 years old and have combination skin. Recently, within the past year, my acne has increased and I now have small, rash-like blemishes/red spots across my face. I have fairly sensitive skin and also suffer from redness. Could anyone suggest any cleansing and moisturizing products gentle enough for my skin yet effective enough to clear it up? Thanks in advance!
Ok, so this might come across as a stupid question. But is it possible to use an anti-aging cream or anti-wrinkle cream that plumps the skin to resurface icepick acne scars? I'm 20 years old and I know I shouldn't be too worried about anti-aging yet. Because I have these pesky acne marks that I'd like to diminish without the help of expensive laser treatments.
Hi, i have just entered my 30s and am getting acne for the first time. It is very strange and stressful. I don'nt have health insurance so i can't go to a skin doctor so i was wondering if there are any recommendations for good acne products for men. Not very smart about cosmetics so maybe it's just the same products women use and there's no difference? Thanks!
I have pale skin, and my post acne marks stay red and discolored for a very long time. Which would be better for evening out my skin? Perricone MD Blue Plasma OR Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid Retinol Brightening Solution?
I got a delux sample from sephora 2 months ago and I used it is few times but didn't really get into it. Now I'm concerned about my acne scars and wanted to lighten them but the product has turned a slight yellow color. I can't remember if it was that slight yellow color to begin with or not and every picture shows it has clear gel. Has my bottle spoiled in 2 months? Sould I throw it out and or still use it? Thanks very much for any help.
HI! My brother, who is 18, is frustrated with his acne. I have been tentative to give him suggestions for a few reasons being that I have a clear face myself, I don't really know what to do, and I don't want to further the problem. He is also very self conscious about it, so the conversation doesn't come up often. This morning though, we deciding letting you all help might be a good thing. I'd say he has moderate acne. It constantly covers his face and he has scars from past pimples. He does not get any abnormally large ones, just the normal whiteheads and red pin points. As of now he uses OXY face pads twice a day and he also uses the face wash, though I'm not sure how often. He complains that even with this regimen it seems like new pimples keep appearing. This is what the packaging of the products look like. Salicylic Acid is the main ingredient in both. I have used the pads occasionally when I am trying to get rid of a minor blemish, and it feels very drying. The face wash has a pretty offensive smell to it. He gets both at walgreens. My thoughts are that these products, and how often he is using them, are drying out his skin to the extent where his skin is now producing excess oils. Is this correct? I also thought exfoliating might help, but I don't know. My main questions are- Would exfoliating help? Is he over drying his face? What products should he use? and Is there a way to get rid of his scars? Thank you so much for your help! He is going off to college next year; I think this is why he has been so worried about it recently. ~We are all beautiful~
I have acne prone skin that is also sensitive/reacts to harsh acne products. I've tried glycolic cleansers/treatments, benzoyl peroxide and prescription retinol creams. All of them dried my skin out and caused more acne issues. After doing A LOT of research (and recommended by my esthetician) I've been cleansing using the oil cleansing method for the past 2-3 weeks. I'm pretty certain now my skin is purging all of the crap that's been in my pores because now I have quite a bit of clogged pores all over. In the morning I use a gentle cleansing milk with my Clarisonic, Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum and Caudalie Quenching Sorbet-Creme. Then after oil cleansing at night I use the serum again. I use a clay mask once a week and Olay Microdermabrasion scrub 2x week. How long should I give the oil cleansing purging period? What else can I do/use that will unclog the pores without killing my sensitive skin? Thanks in advance!
Help! I am breaking out like crazy! I have small bumps all over my face and a few that slowly keep developing into full blown angry red pimples. I have never had breakouts like this before in my life. My skin is very sensitive, so anytime I use acne medicated skincare products, my face and eyes swell up and become one big rash. Last time I tried Clinique's Acne Solutions, I had to go to the doctor to get a shot just to get the swelling to go down. So, are there any products I can use for my acne ridden sensitive skin? I am desperate! Thank you.
Hi everyone! Quick question... After another visit to the derm, we've decided to take another route with my acne. The routine is as follows: AM Wash with 2% salicylic acid Finacea topical gel (it's for rosacea, but is also supposed to help with acne) PM Wash with 2% salicyclic acid Atralin topical gel (retin-a) ...As you can imagine, this is drying out my skin pretty bad. I've been using Josie Maran's Argan oil to help moisturize since most moisturizers break me out (and trust me, I've tried thousands...) but I'm a little concerned about it reversing the effects of my topical gels if you get what I'm saying? I guess what I'm trying to say is since most people recommend an oil-free moisturizer for people with acne/undergoing acne treatment, do you think it's a bad idea for me to apply oil to my skin as a moisturizer after I apply my topical treatments? Please and thank you!
