pH of products

Today I did some pH testing of products that interest me and here are the results:

Toners that are awesome at pH adjusting:

Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner ph = 3

Bad:

Belif Problem Solution Toner ph = 5 (upsetting!)

Clarins Extra Comfort Toning Lotion ph = 5

AHA/BHA that have a good pH:

Paula's Choice BHA 2% Liquid ph = 2.5

Derma e Overnight Peel with AHA ph = 3

Not so good:

Peter Thomas Roth AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel ph = 5

Cosrx BHA Bleackhead Power Liquid ph = 5 (This one kinda upsets me, how comes it is five? I always thought its around 3 or 4)

Serums with low pH:

Good Genes (super low pH)

Not so good

Peter Thomas Roth Camu Camu Vitamin C Brightening Mask ph = 5

Andalou Naturals Turmeric + C Enlighten Serum ph =5

Re: pH of products

@Alexmarya this looks interesting! is the general idea that a pH between 2-4 is good?

Re: pH of products

yes

for exfoliating you need 2-4 @whitepolkydots

Re: pH of products

Interesting exercise. I also have the Derma e Overnight Peel with AHA -- I just used it! I can only use it for 15-20 minutes though (not overnight).

I got this Derma e version of AHA precisely because of its pH. I'm not sure if they market it as being proper pH for AHA effectiveness or if I read about it on a review site of some sort. But I'm happy I found such a simple AHA product that doesn't have other irritants included in it--if I'm using AHA, my skin can't handle retinol and other stuff at the same time. But the pH was the selling point for me.

Re: pH of products

I like it too a lot !
