I have dry, very sensitive, acne prone skin and i can't decide what skincare products to start off with.
the only product i've already tried from sephora are the murad ones and they started to peel my skin as well as make my acne worse...
so, any suggestions on what kind of cleanser, toner, and moisturizer i could try?
(i've been eyeing fresh, boscia, and olehenrichson so far)

Your break outs are more then likely do to your skin being dry. Instead of trying to clear up the breakout, start with a gentle cleanser like Fresh soy cleanser and then use the Fresh soy moisturizer. Soy has wonderful benefits and if you need to treat an active breakout, try a spot treatment - like Murad, Clean Scene or Clickr

I have sensitive/oily/acne troubled skin, and the only thing that works well for me in the Murad line is the Clarifying Mask...and that's only using it once per wekk, otherwise it's pretty harsh! I tend to like Clinique's facial products; They are very gentle on the skin.

I've tried Murad before too. I was really patient with it for months before it started working, but now I only use their skin perfecting lotion. Recently, I tried the Ren Clearcalm 3 Clay Cleanser. It's really good for dry skin. On a recent dermatologist visit, I was recommended Purpose Cleansing bar. It's drying, but if you invest in a good moisturizer, it might work. And considering it's around $4 from Target/Wal-Mart/drugstores, it never hurts to try. As for toner, I don't really use a toner on my face because it could be stinging depending on what type of acne you have. But I do use Olay's toner around my neck. For moisturizer, you might just want to stick with Murad's skin perfecting lotion unless the lotion itself causes the peeling. Good luck!

If your skin is dry, sensitive and acne prone, it may be best to consult a dermatologist, because most OTC acne regimens contain higher percentages of ingredients that irritate dry and/or sensitive skin. Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid can worsen dryness, leading to more breakouts, irritation and peeling (which is what might have happened with the Murad products).
Of the three lines you mentioned, I really think Boscia will probably be your best bet; it's safe for sensitive skin, and it contains willow bark to fight breakouts, instead of BP / salicylic acid. I would start off with a regimen like the Clear Complexion Kit (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P27
I love the Fresh Umbrian Clay products, but I'm afraid they might be too drying for you. You might be able to try the Face Treatment as a spot treatment and/or as a mask, but I wouldn't use it nightly as a cleanser (It can be used as all three).
One last suggestion: If you have not already tried it, you might want to use a moisturizer from Cetaphil or CeraVe. Both of these are very gentle, non-drying and non-irritating, and they should not cause you to break out. As an added bonus, both are inexpensive and readily available at drugstores.
Good luck! ![]()
