I am a 27 year old having issues wit Acne on my face all the time from the time I was a teenager. I never did really anything to control the problem and I do have marks on my cheeks probably because i pinched them.   After reading a lot in BT, I realized the need to invest in good skin care regime. I dont want to go to a dermatologist before I try something that works. I have breakouts all over my face but increases during periods. I dont use any tbc pills n no harmonal problems either.  Is there a way to reduce the marks on my face and also reduce occurences of acne in my face?   I can post a pic of me so you can help, thanks

I have super oily skin.  I have a good skin care routine, and I thought I had found my holy grail foundation - Hourglass Immaculate.  But I'm finding that it may not be the best one for me.  It clings to dry patches, and seems to emphasize fine lines (I'm 34).  The staying power is amazing, nothing else holds a candle to it.  I also feel like it's really hard to get a smooth looking finish...if I catch myself in the mirror, I feel like it looks patchy.  So I guess I'm looking for foundation suggestions for oily, mature skin.  I used to use Bare Minerals matte, but the older I get, I'm not liking it so much.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I was recommended Peter Thomas Roth's de-spot skin brightening corrector by a lady at sephora, but it is SO expensive ($90!) and i read reviews and it sounds like it's not worth it. i got a sample of caudalie's vinoperfect radiance serum about two weeks ago and i'm hoping that will work. i'm hoping to hear some stories from people with the same personal experience!   fyi, I have a VERY oily t zone, and a fair bit of acne on my forehead (it's mostly hormonal though - I usually get it when i'm stressed and it disappears almost instantly when I become relaxed…)
Acne
My skin and acne history:  Combination/leaning more towards oily skin. My forehead and nose get oilier than my chin, though. My cheeks are probably oilier than most people with combination skin, however they don't feel half as oily as my T-zone yet still get the most whiteheads! (In both quantity and in size) I already have noticeable icepick scars on both cheeks from when I had horrible acne at age 14-15 and tried drugstore products to Murad to topical creams (clindamycin and retoinoid creams) and finally doxycycline from the dermatologist. After I had to stop taking that, my skin stayed clear save for the ocassional pimple or two. I started taking birth control in May 2013, but stopped this past August. Current **bleep**storm:  Fast forward to my 20th birthday present: random breakout (have not changed a thing about my routine - which I should probably mention I have been and almost always use drugstore products, Clearasil face wash, Neutrogena toner and moisturizer, and was using 100% tea tree oil for spots but that had recently lost it's effectiveness on my skin) Then all of a sudden a random, really bad, angry red breakout that started about 3 weeks ago. Small, but very red pimples on both of my temples/hairline and large, painful pimples mostly on my right cheek. Had an under-the-skin-er on my chin and a lot of small whiteheads on my chin. I started using Michael Todd True Organics Acne/Oily skin regime on the 4th of this month and my skin has just started to clear up, however I have used KS Eradikate twice this week and have been drinking a lot more water. My hypochondriatic questions:   Number 1 suspicion on my breakout: happened right after the end of being 4 months birth control free. Maybe it took that long for my body to complete rid itself the false hormones from the BC and this is how my skin truly is? Number 2 suspicion is I used the charcoal mask (2 times) and kaolin clay mask (3 times) all in one week in a feeble attempt to attack my breakout, which I now know could have been the reason why it didn't make my face any clearer. (Something about how it can pull up all impurities and your face gets worse before it gets better?) then got a new breakout on my cheek a little over a week ago. I haven't used the mask or scrub in 6 days. Number 3 suspicion is I just haven't given the regime enough time to work yet.   I did get fed up after leaving enorgmous white heads alone with just cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizor  for awhile without seeing any improvement and I popped them last week (I know I shouldn't have urgh!) now I've been using Clinique's spot treatment (salicilyic acid) on all pimples and used Eradikate twice. The weird looking pimples on my forehead/hairline area have faded away, but the still red remains (one even is a flat bump) on my cheeks. I'm in fear or gaining fresh acne scars and want to know if I should keep giving this regime a chance to work..angry at myself for believing the hype of MTTO after realizing how much advertisement from youtubers and reviews they sponsor. Sorry for the lengthy post, you have a special place in my heart for actually reading all of it. Will probably post a picture for some advice about what kind of pimples I have (I have been reading the posts here and was happy to find most of you are more knowledgable than dermatologists I've been to!) Thank you!

My normal routine( for both day and night ) :neutrogena oils free acne wash in pink grapefruit and then i moisturized with neutrogena's oils free moisture for combination skin. I've been using these products for a while now (around 1-2 yrs) but as of the end of summer 2014 I've been breaking out a lot. I've been breaking out all over my cheeks and jawline. I don't know if its time for me to switch products or if its the dramatic change in weather/sleeping patterns/stress all i know is that i don't like it and its causing me to have a low self esteem because i never in my life broke out so much before. below i attached a image incase it will help with finding a product( i apologize in advance for the disgusting image LOL) please note that I'm 18 college freshman on a budget so i'm looking for an inexpensive product that is effective

Fyi, this might be a little icky, so stop now if you don't want to be grossed out haha.  I'd had this little tiny clogged pore on my chin that had gotten bigger and redder over the past couple weeks.  I went to a dermatologist, and was told all they could do was a chemical peel, which wasn't an option since I don't have $1500 to throw around.  Anyway, around Wednesday/Thursday of this week the red spot turned into this enormous pimple with three whiteheads in it.  I tried to get an emergency derm appointment for Friday since the whitehead was so big and the area was sort of swollen and painful, but they couldn't fit me in.    I've been trying to treat it myself with Benzyol Peroxide and moisturizing the are with spot treatments of Thirsty Mud which has been helping a bit.  I've been being so gentle with my face (I never pick), since I knew that if the whitehead got bumped it could leave a scar.  Well I was babysitting my three year old cousin last night, and he was sitting on my lap watching a movie.  Like a typical child, he all of the sudden got all wriggly and head-butted me in the face, you guessed it, right on the pimple.  It popped and pus and blood came out, and it hurt soooo bad.    I've been putting Neosporin on it as well as continuing with the Benzyol Peroxide, but is there anything else I can do?  Any product recommendations to help it heal and reduce scarring?  It looks awful, and I'm so afraid I'm going to be left with a horrible scar since it got popped before it was ready.

Ok, this is going to be long....hopefully someone can give me some advice. I found the Blemish Banisher kit on Sephora.com and picked it up in the store. My acne breakouts have been crazy lately and all the great reviews gave me so much hope that maybe this could be the thing to finally turn my skin around. The first night I used the kit, it immediately made my skin feel better. The next morning, the EradiKate had significantly reduced the size and redness of my cystic pimples. Fast forward a about four more days, and my skin is SO ITCHY and dry! I also first noticed a patch of little itchy bumps, like a rash, on my left cheek. Today I noticed it on the other side two in two different places. Tonight the itching on my face is bothering me so much I just can't use the kit whatsoever, even though I really wish I could apply the EradiKate again because it has been helping my pimples decrease in size a lot which is nice. Downside though is I am breaking out more after starting to use this, but not sure if it was caused by the kit or it was just going to happen anyways.   I do find the Detox Cleanser to be a little drying (once I rinse it off, my face feels more tight), and the Oil Free Moisturizer stings a little when I apply it. I wouldn't consider my skin to be sensitive to products whatsoever. Even though I have acne prone skin, nothing has ever given me a rash or adverse reaction. I've gotten dry skin from overwashing or using harsh products with 10% benzoyl peroxide, etc....but never this bad and usually it was during the winter and I just didn't moisturize enough. I've been using this kit as directed, and I think the EradiKate is the reason behind the dry itchy skin but the rashes I honestly have no idea how those came about because i don't apply the EradiKate anywhere near over on the sides of my cheeks (I do not have acne there)...   Has anyone else had a not so great experience with it? Should I only not be using EradiKate every night? Also, the EradiKate is supposed to dry up the pimples...but how do I remove all that dry skin afterwards (like going out the next day and not having flakes everywhere?)...simply moisturizing doesn't help. I feel like exfoliating would be the only thing to help but that would further irritate my skin. Not to mention, I'm breaking out even more..   ANY advice would be appreciated. Maybe I should just try Philosophy's Clear Days Ahead kit...I don't know.

I had Kate Somerville's Eradikate shipped and have applied it once. I read many reviews and know that you're supposed to take a Q-Tip and dip the cotton swab into the pink flecks on the bottom of the bottle and apply to your pimples. The bottle says "do not shake" but of course being shipped it was shaken, and the solution looked light pink and creamy. I gave it a day to settle before applying and the top of the mixture was clear but the bottom was still pink and creamy, I couldn't see any flakes. I applied it anyway (dipped Q-Tip into the pink creamy part and applied - pimples were dried up and less red when I woke up) Just wondering if the product will ever settle and is it just as effective in this consistency? I've had it nearly 3 days and it has stayed the same. Thank you!

I have a question about the clarisonic purge. When I started to use my clarisonic mia 2, I heard that you may suffer a purge fase. My skin is dry and I don't usually have break outs, just black heads. But when I used it for the first weak I notice my face was getting lots of red bumps, specially on the cheeks. Is this normal? Is my skin to sensitive? Please help!

Best skin regime for acne prone, teenage skin? I have combination and also any product recommendations?
Acne
My skin has never been really acne prone and is usually very soft looking and clear but for the past almost 4 months I have had really red and sensitive skin, and I am getting really large blemishes everywhere, and even though my skin feels very soft and I exfoliate often, my face still looks flakey when I put my makeup on and still is oily it seems like nothing can cover up my blemishes. Any ideas?

I have oily/combination skin. Used to have bad acne as teen, now in mid-20s, still have minor breakouts but I use Epiduo which keeps me pretty clear of blemishes... But now I want to get rid of left over acne/dark spots. What can I use that won't make me breakout and be fine to use with Epiduo. I've done lots of research and I'm between these 3 products:   Murad: http://www.sephora.com/post-acne-spot-lightening-g el-P188907?skuId=1021930, http://www.sephora.com/rapid-age-spot-pigment-ligh tening-serum-P4009?skuId=654095   Origins: http://www.sephora.com/dr-andrew-weil-for-origins- mega-bright-skin-tone-correcting-serum-P302934?sku ...   Feel free to recommend other products also.

Hello there, I am looking for a lightweight foundation that is buildable and suited for sensitive skin. I struggle with mild acne on my cheeks and chin and have combination skin. I have always used powder foundation and have only recently tried liquid. I never used liquid foundation as I was paranoid of them breaking me out so I tried mufe hd foundation and it only offered light coverage and made me extremely greasy. I then exchanged it for the mat velvet plus I am currently using it now and it seems to cling to my dry patches.  I really want to be able to cover the discolouration on my face but still maintain a flawless and natural finish if that's even possible. I am thinking of trying the too faced cocoa powder foundation and see if I have luck with that.  I really don't know if I should continue with using liquid to cover my acne as I'm scared I will end up with even more pimples. Please help! ps. I use tarted pore less primer before I apply my face makeup

Is there any product that would help reduce the appearance of past blemishes that I have picked on my face?

I need new face wash or a full out new ritual because I still haven't found any type of skincare solution to actually use. I am in my early 20s and have had chronic acne for years. I have used many products in an attempt to help my chronic acne including: Murad, Josie Maran, Stridex, Neutrogena, and tea tree oil products from The Body Shop.   Nothing is working and I'm getting very fed up. I have combination skin, but the only area I really get acne in is my cheeks, chin, and around my mouth. In these areas it tend to get very oily. In the photo I uploaded, you can kind of see what my current situation is.   Does anyone have any recommendations? I tried to use the online Sephora Skincare i.d., but it recommended me a plethora of products and I don't even know where to start. I am also considering purchasing the Clarisonic Mia System. Any thoughts?

I am just wondering about certain products. I have been using the three little wonders for the past 2 years, including the pure truth youth activating, but I still need a little more boost into my complection. I have been hearing crazy good reviews about Perricone md, the blue palsma, cold plasma, and the C ester serum. I bought them recently and now I am wondering If I can be able to use them in conjunction with the Ole Henricksen. If I cant use them both, which one has more benefits because I dont want to keep perricone if its not worth the money. ANy advice will be helpful.

Hello, all! I was wondering if someone could suggest a new cleanser for me. I'm currently using the Boscia detoxifying black cleanser, and it's okay, but I was hoping someone might have a better suggestion. I have combination, acne prone skin. I get primarily nodules, pustules, and whiteheads. I also pick at my skin (... I know, I'm trying to stop! ) so I have a TONNNN of dark marks all over. I think getting rid of the dark marks is my primary concern, and the acne is my secondary. I also have acne on my shoulders, so if it worked for body that'd be great too. I didn't find the Skincare IQ to be very helpful, so if someone has experience with a good product for similar issues, I'd love to hear about it! Thank you!

I read all the reviews for this and was sure I would love it! Going on it was great and felt good. After taking it off, after three minutes it started burning my skin! Is this normal? In the morning my face was not red and it was not burning anymore. My skin has never been sensitive. Is this supposed to feel like this? Tanks for the help in advance ! Thanks, Dan

I have cystic, acne prone, extremely oily skin with enlarged pores and acne scaring. I believe it stems from a hormone imbalance. However I would like to know which skincare items you would recommend as well as foundation. I have struggled with finding the right one and I have tried so many different brands. I would like to know a experts opinion.

I am going to be investing in a couple of Clarisonic Christmas presents, but am not really sure which one to purchase, being they have the Mia 1,2,3, Ariel and others. I know I want to stick with the Clarisonic brush and not really the Clinique one.The prices of them all are pretty variable and I want to get the right one for my skin care needs.   What is the big difference in all these and why the big jump from $99.00 to $249.00? Have people had problems with the earlier models?

I have just about every single type of acne on my face.. papules, pimples, white heads, black heads, even CYSTIC acne. I've been to a dermatologist numerous times & used several different products & antibiotics but nothing works. It keeps getting worse!   I've tried just about everything you can get at a drug store plus Retin-A & other perscription ointments (that don't work on me). I've even tried cleaning up my diet & go full on organic & excerside regularly, didn't help.   I have very light skin & a pink undertone. It's very sensitive & dries out easily but then gets super oily throughout the day.   I'm looking for any PRODUCTS that may help clear it up & also MAKEUP to help cover it so I can live a somewhat normal life without being worried about people staring at my face!! I used Clinique but it didn't cover very well & the foundation actually broke me out worse ( even the acne helping kind ). I have recently used the Sonia Kashuk concealer pallet but I found out it has numerous toxic chemicals & has just been making it worse!   If you have any products or good advice I would much appreciate it! Thank you!

Can you use an AHA product with a retinol product? Since they both do the same thing will it enhance the process or negate each other?   My face responds better to products with Benzol peroxide. If I use Kate Sommerville clarifying lotion with (5% Benzol peroxide) should I still use my acne spot cream Murad Spot Treatment with (3% Benzol peroxide). I use the clarifying lotion all over my face with the spot treatment on my  acne. I have cystic acne on my chin and around my mouth.

Within the last month I have revised my whole skin care routine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.   My skin care regimen: am: Kate Sommerville Daily Cleanser  -Kate Sommerville Acne clearing lotion (sometimes when I have smaller acne spots) - I spot treat cystic acne spots with Murad Acne spot Fast Fix or Lush Grease Lightning - I moisturize with my Kate Somerville moisturizer or Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel night: Kate Sommerville Daily Cleanser ( use clarisonic 2 times a week) -pro activ or Kate Sommerville toner -I spot treat with proactiv refining mask or Eradikate -everywhere else I use Dr. Dennis Gross Moisturizer I use a clay mask( glam glow or an over the counter mask) then use an enzyme mask after sometimes (once a week) I use my Kate Sommerville resurfacing pads or Exfolikate once a week Ive only within the last month have incorporated the use of masks and chemical peels into my facial routine.
Acne
Hi,  Sorry if this is long, but I really need help with starting a whole new skin care routine and curing my acne. Please bear with me!   I am a 19 year old college student who has absolutely no idea what she is doing when it comes to skin care. (Honestly, I will probably be posting a whole different post about makeup too.) My skin was doing well during the summer, but once I came back to start my sophomore year, my skin began to act against me. The place my skin likes to breakout the most seems to be in between my eyebrows and all over my forehead. Recently, I have also been getting two or three zits on my cheeks, around my mouth, and under my chin. Some of these zits have gone away, but they have left scars that honestly look like I still have a zit. I have been trying different products these past few months, but nothing seems to be working.    About my skin: I have combination skin: Oily T-zone, and fairly normal skin on my cheeks.  My main problems that I would like to fix : (from top priority to it would be a nice addition ) -The cluster of acne in between my brows and on my forehead. This acne is mainly just bright red dots; only a few are painful. Reducing redness would be great as well.  -Getting rid of the red scars that have grown on my forehead and between the brows.  -The others places I have been breaking out: chin and cheeks (mild) -Shine/oil control -Pore minimizing   My current skin care routine:  I wash my face both in the morning and at night: neutrogena facial soap bar, then Clinique toner (purple one), then Clinique yellow moisturizer. I exfoliate with St. Ives apricot scrub around 3 times a week. Sometimes I do masks but I have been slacking. I also use neutrogena eye makeup remover and burt's bees grapefruit face wipes.  I am fairly active. My college requires a ton of walking every day, but I do not go to the gym or sweat a bunch. My diet is healthy with lots of fruits and veggies, but honestly it could probably be better. I also 100% make sure to drink 7-8 glasses of water a day.    Really, I'm looking for a new skin care routine that will help solve my skin problems. I need a whole new cleanser, toner, moisturizer, mask, exfoilator, acne treatment, etc. I am open to ANY suggestions and feel free to load on the advice about better ways to take care of my poor face.  Preferably, any products under $40 would be wonderful. If you really want to suggest a product that is high price but you believe it will help me, feel free! I can always save up.    I like to use products that are fairly natural (but they don't necessarily have to be.)   I need serious help because I feel so self-conscious about my face and it's a pure struggle to be in college with this problem. I seriously appreciate any sort of help. Details on how to go about the new routine would be awesome. I literally have no knowledge when it comes to this.    If you need any other information, just ask! Thanks a bunch
Acne
So I have these blackheads on my nose that go out onto my cheeks a bit. I'm sure you know what I'm asking for; how do I get rid of them? I know exfoliating can help. Though I truly don't know what product to use. I recently bought a travel sized version of Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment, which remains unopened. I have no idea if this product would do me any good, I mostly just bought it because of the hype. Can anyone recommend any products or tell me if the GlamGlow product is any good?
