I overdid a chemical peel and now my skin is raw in one area. I need it to be as heeled as possible by tomorrow for a social event. The walk in clinic only gave me 1% cortisone cream. What can I use to heal this and what makeup will cover it?
We're blabbing about everything else these days, I figured I'd check in and see what people are watching when it comes to TV shows and movies! It would be foolish to think that this thread could remain spoiler free, so let's be courteous to one another and be sure to spoiler your spoilers. If you don't know how, it's that super adorable little yellow button on the toolbar, located to the right of the bold/italic/underline/strikeout buttons. DONT FORGET: If you happen to be the most recent post, your first sentence or two of your post will show up EVEN IF ITS IN A SPOILER. So please take care if you're going to go dropping spoiler bombs. Anywho... I just saw the movie PHOENIX last night and it was absolutely spectacular. Like Academy Award spectacular. If you're fortunate enough have showings in your area, I cannot urge you enough to go see it. So whatcha'll watchin' these days? What are you anxiously waiting for to start back up?
Hello all! My doctor has put me on Tretinoin .1% to help erase the annoying red marks that WILL NOT go away. I wouldn't say I have acne. I have minor breakouts when I have a reaction to something, hormonal breakouts, ya know the normal stuff. My problem was picking. So, I needed something serious to help with scars and those annoying bright red marks that force you to wear makeup. I've also been put on minocycline as well as a topical anti-bacteria cream. My question is this : What products are a must with these prescriptions? I mean my face is SO DRY. Which is expected but I've tried every lotion under the sun I feel like and nothing is really doing justice. I've even tried Josie Maron Aragon Oil! I keep reading Cerve Pm or the lotion in the tub, I've heard Sephora has a Ceramide moisturizer as well? I've also been told ot make sure I incorporate lots of antioxidants. Is there a product that has all of this? What should I be looking for? AHH! HELP PLEASE!
Hi there! I have major acne problems. I use to have problems with pimples now i don't anymore. Im a dark skin woman and i currently have an issue with dark spots/ scarring. I was wondering if anyone would know any really really good skin care products for my issue? Masks, cleansers, anything would help. thank you in advance!
Hello everyone, I hope you could share some pointers to what just attacked my face! I began using a new foundation, and after about two days of use, woke up to blackheads. I get a spot or two like clockwork, hormonal, sometimes even cysts, but I haven't had actual blackheads invade like this since I was twelve or so! My question is, would the foundation be to blame, or is it more likely the new sleep oil that I've been sampling for around a week? i also have been experiencing itching although there is zero flaking, hives, or redness. Id hate to do a used return if it is another product. Everything else in my routine is 100% the same. Thanks in advance!!
Hi! Does anyone have recommendations for the best facial pads for acne-prone skin? I am at my wits' end here. I'm 34, and ever since I had a baby last year, my skin has been a disaster. I'm pretty sure it's primarily driven by hormones, since I am still breastfeeding, but because of the breastfeeding and the fact that we plan to try for another baby pretty soon, I'm limited in what I can get from a dermatologist. In the past Retin-A has been a lifesaver, but that's off the table for now. I have been using the PTR Max Complexion Correction pads for over two months, and they don't seem to be doing much except drying out my skin. I also have the DDF 5% benzoyl peroxide lotion that I use sparingly as a spot treatment. I am also working on overhauling my diet, cutting out dairy and excess sugars to help prevent inflammation. So, my question is this: is there a good facial pad I can use instead of the PTR pads? Or should I stick with the PTR pads even longer? I know it takes a while for results, but I would hope that after 10-11 weeks, SOMETHING would be improved. I've considered the Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel pads, Philosophy (they used to have something wonderful called the Microdelivery Mini Peel Pads a long time ago, but those appear to be discontinued now), anything else I should look at? Or that you have had success with? I'm moving to a new city next week and really dreading meeting new people and making new friends with my face like this. I feel like I'm starting high school and have the skin to prove it. Thanks in advance for any tips or product recommendations!
Hello, I just received some Ole Henriksen products I ordered online, the aloe vera deep cleanser, the grease relief facial water and the grease relief face tonic....is there a difference between the facial water and facial tonic? Can I use both of them back to back, if not which one should I keep? Thank you.
Hello lovelies, I use Clean and Clear toner with salicylic acid, and I just started adding a drop of Witch Hazel to it. And my skin loves it! Witch Hazel can help control acne and also reduce red spots and swelling. Super cheap too. I love my Clean and Clear, and I was experimenting with it. It does great on its own, but that drop of Witch Hazel really makes a difference. Anyone else try something like this?
Mascara Madness is back at Nordstrom this Saturday the 23rd. Buy 2 get 1 free mascaras! The only "high end" mascara I have used is They're Real by Benefit, and I love it, but I wanna use this sale as an opportunity to try maybe some MAC or Clinique...really anything! I naturally have long lashes, just looking for a mascara that will really darken them and add volume, with no clumping or flaking. What mascaras do you recommend buying from Mascara Madness? What ones are you going to buy!? Thanks beauties
Which all methods are you using for your skin care? Is there any effect on naturopathy for skin care? Does anyone had tried it? While browsing I read that naturopathy treatments are good for treating acne? My sister is suffering from severe acne so she is planning to get treatment from nearby physiotherapy clinic in Toronto, but before that, I need to know whether someone had tried it. Kindly share your experience.
What regime do you recommend for combination skin that is acne prone with hyper pigmentation? Usually on the cheeks but have been present on the forehead. I seem to respond well with benzoyl peroxide vs salicylic acid. I read online (Acne.org regime). I had my face waxed 1.5 yrs ago and skin has never been the same again. Ugly scarring and constant battle of acne almost cystic like. Hyper pigmentation occurs without even picking at them. Even tried prescription combo of Hydrochlorquine 4%, retina 0.05 and hydrocortisone 2.5%.. Helps with the pain of the acne, decrease them some but still better results wit benzoyl peroxide.
I am going on an Asian cruise soon. I am unfamiliar with Korean beauty products. I thought this would be a good time to try some. I could use help from any BTers who could recommend products for a 60 yr. old with dry skin and wrinkles. Thanks
I have oily skin and black heads and I need a good face wash that will work for oily skin and blackheads. I usually have to blot my face kid afternoon so anything that is good at soaking up oil would be great!
I have a lot of bumps around my face.. I'm not sure if they are all just clogged pores, but they have been getting more and more recently especially around my cheeks. Is it due to dirty makeup brushes-if I switched to just using the beauty blender would that make it better? as well, I use clay masks but they don't seem to make much of a difference. I use an oil cleanser, and exfoliate weekly. No matter how smooth my skin is, the bumps are always there
OK I don't know if its just me or everyone is has issue find a foundation that not only feels great on their skin but also is the ACTUAL color OF THEIR SKIN! I live in a small town so it is extremely hard for me to find good high end foundations - we do have a Sears which has clinique, and Shoppers which has Nyx and smash box ext. But the problem comes with the undertones being too pink or too yellow! Benefits are ALL to yellow in their under tone, SmashBox is like pink on me, Clinique *which I own the Stay Matte in 08 Golden Neutral* isn't horrible in under tone but is a little to light for my skin! It also has been cracking and flaking through out the day and driving me nuts. I tried powders, creams, liquids, foams, sprays everything and anything to just try and get something that is natural looking but still hides everything i want. Does anyone have any suggestions on what foundation they like, and how they found their color online? and how to match yourself as people who work in the beauty area's I'm in couldn't match me well at all! Thanks xo !
I am 31 and started getting rosacea sots on cheek at beginning of college. After a few fails with dermatologist, they finally found solution. Clenia wash two times daily, cleania cream in morning and retinA at night. However, I have moved and when I finally got a prescription for clenia is was denied it looks like to tonssss of people. Is there anything over the counter that actually works? I have been trying prosacea gel on spots but havent seen a difference
I know that Sephora doesn't sell Illamasqua anymore, Nordstrom never has, and now I see that it is no longer on Bloomingdales website. Does anyone know where Illamasqua can be found in the States? I am definitely not paying international shipping from the UK.
Hey guys, I'm to the point where I am about to give up. My face is SUPER sensitive and gets irritated with the littlest things. Every single cleanser I have used has left my face feeling tight and stripped, but then my skin never wants to absorb the lotions that I try to put on. So I feel like my skin is combo, sensitive and dehydrated. This results in constant acne; never cystic acne, but just pimples all over. I'm a senior in HS and it is honestly embarrassing to go out in public. I was looking at the Belif Skincare line, but I'm hoping that someone can help me. Anything is welcome!
I use to have great skin but maybe a year ago I developed a problem with cystic acne and I think it was BC related but I've been long off of that and my face does not break out as bad but I still do get breakouts more than I use to and I have some acne scars. I have combination skin and it is more normal than dry but I do get dry spots occasionally. I'm very on top of my face care so I don't know if my skin has gotten use to my cleanser I use now maybe? I was hoping to see if anyone would recommend a great cleanser or even a lotion? I can't honestly call my skin bad BUT when I break out I do break out. I've looked at the Kate Somerville Eradicate Acne spot treatment with the sulfur in the bottle but read it can dry out your skin but would that possibly be something good to try? Anything to get my skin nice again and I do use a pore minimizer and I do have a Glamglow mask. Both work but I'm hoping for something a little more.
Hi all, I'm 19. It seems if I go for a week without using makeup, my skin looks nice and smooth. But after even one day wearing it, I break out, and I'm talking painful bumps not small whiteheads. This happens with any and all makeup. I use Hourglass' Mineral Veil Primer and Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Powder, in order to try to minimize the acne, because if I use anything with chemicals like MUFE, Dior, Lancome, or Mac, it is worse. I do use the Proactiv System, and exfoliate a couple times a week with a Philosophy wash. Like I said, they work so long as I don't use makeup :-( But simply abstaining from it is not an option for me. Has anyone had the same problem or has any recommendations for makeup or a skincare line? Much appreciated, thank you.
