I am looking to get rid of or just help my scarring. I've researched a few products like Murads post acne lightening gel, PTR gentle complexion correction pads, and Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial but I would appreciate other opinions. It can be any type of product that has helped with your own spots. My daily routine consists of: -washing face 2x daily with Cetaphil face wash -for a scrub I use st. Ives oatmeal scrub -murad hydrating toner -tarte maracuja oil -PTR Therapeutic Sulfur Masque Acne Treatment Masque
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been using calamine lotion on my face after I cleanse and tone nightly for about 4 months now. My skin's redness has greatly decreased and it acts like a spot treatment as well. My face is softer, smaller pores, smoother. I got the idea because I had tried Kate Somerville's Eradikate and thought it was too pricey and calamine lotion looks the same lol. Check it out It's about $9 for a bottle that will last you months. I bought mine in December and still have it. I use about a tsp daily so it will last forever.
Looking for a skin care product to help red post acne marks / PIH that I've had for about 3 years that won't go away. I don't want to use the lightening treatments because I've read that they don't work well for red marks and the ingredient hydroquinone can be dangerous. Can anyone make a recommendation? Thanks!
I've never had "deep" acne or cysts on my face before, but I have have a sebaceous cyst on my temple...right where a side burn would be in front of my ear. When I was heavier I would get them on my arms and legs where I would sweat (yeah, gross, I know), but never before on my face. Does anyone recommend anything for this? It doesn't really hurt (unless touched, and then it feels bruised), and it's not noticeable (unless someone was close and could notice the flesh-toned orb on my temple, lol), but it is annoying. Many thanks!
When the day X comes, I always have one or two deep zits on my face, and it's super annoying, I think you all know how I use origins gel for spot treatment, but I feel it's not doing a very good job. I'm sitting with my Origins "out of trouble" mask at the moment, hoping it might help , and I decided to ask you, guys, what are your favorite ointments/products for this problem? I'm looking for something that doesn't require a doctor's prescription.
I went to a esthetician yesterday and she talked about how I have alot of black and white heads that can develop into a full fledged acne if not taken care of.. (not just on the nose but on the cheeks and forehead as well) and that I should stop squeezing them out to leave scars around the face.. she recommended for me to use a line of skin care that kills bacteria that I'm supposed to pick up next week.. I have acne prone skin, but I'm very very sensitive and dry at the same time.. she said it won't be drying.. but what should I do? she's telling me $184. I can't use anything else. just the set to get rid of the bacteria deep within I've had salicylic acid and benzyol peroxide before which both ended up leaving my skin irritated, dry, red, and just worse..
After countless months I have worked to get rid of acne. Everything was going really well with my skin care routine and products I was using. Now for some reason I'm getting these annoying blackheads instead of pimples. The start as dark spots, then they swell up and hurt. As much as I try to exfoliate, use clearing mask, and spot treatments it only gets worst. If I wait a week or two they usually burst open and leave this gaping hole in my skin that takes weeks to heal over, which leaves a scar that I work hard to lighten. When I can't take it after a few days I pop them with two Q-tips soaked in toner but that still leaves a scar...just a smaller one. Does anyone else have this problem? Could it be something I'm using or eating? I thank you in advance for your help.
Hello! My acne has completely cleared up (thankfully) but I am left with some pretty horrible (and dark) scars on my face and upper chest. The scars on my face are manageable thanks you makeup and concealer when needed but my chest is a totally different story. Can anyone recommend any products (preferable with personal results) to help with the lightening/fading of these scars?? Thanks so much!!
I'm at my wits end. I had been using proactiv but I hated it. It dried out my skin so that when I did break out I also got flaky patches around the pimple which let me tell you made make up application super easy. BUT I went from having multiple pimples all the time to one during that time of the month and a few itty bitty ones on my nose. I wasn't happy though plus the stuff is supposed to be like HORRIBLE for you. So for Christmas my mom gave me some money and I got a Clarisonic Mia 2. I got Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, Dermatolgica (if that's spelled wrong do not judge me)multi active toner, & Light Argan Oil. Well my face went NUTS. I always get pimples around my mouth, on my nose and between my eye brows, I also NEVER got blackheads. Well so I thought I was doing too much at a time. So I stopped using the Clarisonic except once a week instead of 2 times a day(I stopped using it for a week then went in once a week). I also got the acne brush head & cleanser. It was also recommended that I try the Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads. So at night I use the Clarisonic stuff (without the clarisonic) & in the morning I use the peel pads (like 1/4 of a pad). I eased myself into using these products so my skin didn't flip out again but no dice. In fact my skin is WORSE! I have HUGE pimples coming up. I used to have like little annoying ones but you pop it and 2 days later it's gone. Now? I have a pimple that has been below the surface for a week and it's painful!. I also have pimples on my cheeks & forehead (never happened before EVER) Pimples that pop up? yeah they NEVER go away. I have had the same "healing" pimple for a month now. Not to mention that I thought my skin was dry but it's super dry now. The thin skin around my nose is cracking (shout out to GlamGlow ThirstyMud for fixing that though). I've tried cutting back on the peel pads & the face wash and still no success. So here I am Sephora Beauty Talk with all you reading my skin care woes. I'm going back to proactiv. That's the best option for me. I had better skin when I used it. The only problem is now I have this $150 face scrubber that I LOVE using. I mean it feels like heaven on your face. Plus my boyfriend got his own brush and he's got like fantastic skin now. He never breaks out when he shaves any more and his dry skin is better. So I hate him. SO people please help me. Has anyone actually used their proactiv WITH the clarisonic mia 2? If you have what brush head did you use? Please people share your wisdom because like I said at the beginning, I'm at my wits end. I'm so far gone I'm debating giving up sugar? It's bad...
Hey all, I'm searching for a new daily moisturizer! I currently use a gel based oil free moisturizer from Vichy. I have just started using NARS tinted moisturizer, which I love, but I find it's not moisturizing enough to wear alone. I am looking for a moisturizer that will help with my skin. I get small breakouts, usually around my cheeks and my chin. I guess I have combination skin, my face gets oily and I'll start to breakout if I have too much make up on, though I'll also get small dry almost flaky patches. I think this is from the clindoxyl gel I use for spot acne treatment. Any good suggestions?? Thanks!
I have several whiteheads that will not go away no matter how many times I pop them and dry them out. I also have dark spots where previous pimples were. I use my clarisonic with the acne head every other day. I would like some spot treatment suggestions as well as a recommendation for all new skin care... cleanser, toner, moisturizer..etc. My skin is very sensitive and oily. I don't think I need a full acne skin care line because my skin isn't really Bad. I just have some spots that need cleared up and need to stay cleared up. Thanks!
I was just on Estee Lauder's website and they have a new acne serum. I'm excited about this because I LOVE Estee Lauder's night repair serum (so good!) and this might be a great addition to my skin care routine Hopefully Sephora will carry this soon! They also have a new spot treatment and BB cream for acne skin! Sorry if this has already been posted, I did a quick search and didn't see anything. The Sephora at Ala Moana has Estee Lauder products so hopefully I can get it on sale if they have it!
I need help finding a new skin regime. I have combination skin and still get regular breakouts, however I am also aware that I should probably start some sort of anti-aging treatment. There is so much out there and I have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking at a cleanser, moisturizer, eye cream and some sort of treatment. Thanks in advance!
I'm a 26-year-old female and have had crummy skin since I was 13 that seems to just get worse and worse. My skin is sensitive and dry. I get lots of little white bumps, never-ending clogged pores, occasional big sensitive zits, and occasional deep cystic zits. I do not have health insurance/money to see a dermatologist, but I've only been using grocery store products up to this point, so I would like to try investing in some higher end products that might work better. My current routine: -Cetaphil cleanser, always use washcloth (tried using clean hands, makes acne much worse - dead skin and grossness build up like crazy) -Neutrogenia moisturizer for sensitive skin -Neutrogenia exfoliating scrub 1 or 2 times/week (salicylic acid I believe) -little bit of 2.5% benzoyl peroxide every other night or so (too much makes me rashy) -have been using maybelline foundation, but think I'm going to switch to something else because I think it's making my skin worse -some kind of makeup remover wipes Diet: Overall, pretty healthy. Hate milk anyway, but I've been cutting way back on cheese over the past few months. Have a weakness for nightly glass of wine and once a week pizza. I am SO frustrated and ready to fix this!! I am HIGHLY prone to itchy, gross rashes, and it seems like every time I try something new, I get rashy. I tried a tea tree oil routine for 3 months, and it didn't help (maybe made it a little worse). Occasionally I'll get the urge to be proactive and try something new, and often I will end up with a rash on my face. I've settled on my current routine because it at least doesn't make things worse, but things don't seem to get better either. Going totally without makeup seems to make things a little better, but not a lot better (and damages my confidence immensely). Once tried a sort of clarisonic rip-off brush and it gave my a terrible, terrible rash. Also get clogged pores on chest, shoulders, and quite a lot on my back. Clogged pores turn into zits if I pick at them (unfortunately I have a problem with this). Suggestions from anyone are soo greatly appreciated!!! I'm being brave and attaching pictures in hope that someone will have some insight on what I'm dealing with. Thank you in advance!
I just started using Clinique's acne solution kit and I saw results in just one day. Why I haven't discovery their greatness sooner? Talking about money just wasted on other products that failed me. The only thing I am wondering is Do I need to buy the Clearing Gel for blemishes? All the products in the kits says it clears blemishes. I have acne blemishes on my back and I also wonder if I could just used it on my back after using the Body bar? Would love to have clear skin, especially on my back, before the summer. Thanks
I use an oil-free acne wash gentle scrub twice a day. I was using a Foreo device but it did not quite seem to be strong enough to get into my pores to clean out the blackheads. Is it bad to be using the scrub 2x per day 7 days per week? Should I use the scrub one day and the Foreo with a regular cleanser the rest of the days? I'm very confused. I have been spending so much time and money on products to get rid of my acne and still nothing. My pores feel huge and dirty, my face feels oily and heavy, and overall my skin just looks dim and dirty. Help! At 21 years old this acne is getting extremely embarrassing.
Ok, I just used the clarisonic for the first time 3 days ago. I'd been debating getting it for 2 years now for this very reason...but finally took the plunge hoping it would help me with my large pores/blackheads on my chin. I used the sensitive brush, and planned on using it just once a week until my skin got used to it. But now I'm wondering if I made a $150 mistake...I've got huge, cystic like bumps coming up on my chin, and even one under my eye on my cheekbone ( I NEVER break out there). What gives? Should I stop using it or just give it time? What was your experience with clarisonic?
I am still so in love with my Ole Henricksen Pure Truth Vitamin C Youth Activating Oil. I know there are lots of BTs like me, who have oily skin that is acne prone. But I will tell you why I think oil works so well for me. I use various acne products on my skin, which of course dry it out. So after I apply those products, I put a small amount (2 drops) of oil on my face and gently rub it in. Then I follow that with my oil-free moisturizer. I only apply my oil at night. Honestly, I think you'll dry your skin regardless when treating acne. So adding back a bit of oil after you've done all that cleansing and acne lotion applying for me helps breakouts. It's because if your skin is overly dry, you will break out from that. Applying oil helps keep my skin happy. And honestly the next morning, my skin is not oily and it's really soft. Hope this helps some of my fellow BT lovelies with the same skin issues. http://www.sephora.com/pure-truth-vitamin-c-youth- activating-oil-P378347?skuId=1500669
What are the best products to treat hormonal cystic acne, i just started getting this a couple months back and its horrible and very painful. It is also leaving dark spot and scars on my face. I cannot cover it up, with bb cream, foundation, concealer, liquids, creams, powders you name it. I bought Mario Badescu drying lotion +buffering lotion +drying cream. It helping a bit with acne but what about the dark spots and deeper acne. If anyone has suggestions please help bc i dont like this one bit =(. My skin is normal/sort of dry with very large pores/blackheads. I use cleanser, toner, and moisturizer daily 2x a day
I have minor acne just a little on my forehead and occasionally one or two else where, and its not very serious, its not under the skin, just the average pimple or white head. As well my skin scars very easily even if I leave the pimple alone. Is there a product which can help get rid of the acne but also fade the scarring? Its only minor to moderate so I would prefer nothing that is harsh and will strip me of my natural skin.
I recently had a terrible reaction to sunscreen. The healing process has started, but I now have countless acne marks/scars on my fair skin. I am currently using a 2% hydroquinone toner (Rodan & Fields) along with Philosophy's retinoid pads as my bedtime regimen. Is there a different/better lightening agent or process anyone would recommend?
Ok awhile ago I bought the Boscia clear complexion cleanser. http://www.sephora.com/clear-complexion-cleanser-P 199612?skuId=1227909 I had really high hopes for it but it broke me out so badly! I only get breakouts on my chin and this cleanser made me get giant pimples on my cheeks and nose and forehead and of course only worsened the ones on my chin. I stuck with it in hopes it was just a purging stage but after weeks of hating my face like crazy I had to just move on. Anyway, so I still suffer from really persistent acne on my chin and I want to give the detoxifying black cleanser a try ( http://www.sephora.com/detoxifying-black-cleanser- P302940) because I think my chin gets really congested even though I use glamglow and exfoliate enough but not too much and really do everything right. I even went on birth control to combat the hormonal acne and it's helped a little but it's still not gone. My question is basicallly-- will the detoxifying cleanser affect me the same way as the clear complexion one? What has your experience with any of the boscia cleansers been? Do you think the black one will work for me? I bought it yesterday and I'm waiting for its arrival and I can only hope!
