I am 21 going on 22 in a few months. I have the occasional pimple, a few whiteheads a couple times a month, and some scarring. I want to know what kate Somerville products I should use for that and to help prevent aging. Everything from beginning to end! Thanks!
Hi all! I'm starting "Accutane" (Absorbica to be exact) on Saturday. I've watched every youtube video and blog that there is out there and have done lengthy research (through BT also). I would like some updated product suggestions (hair and skin), I trust BT more than any other place, on product experience and advice. Any advice, on products or otherwise, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I have been having some acne troubles and I went ahead and bought the Illumask. It was on sale at Target for $25, but I had a $5 coupon for Ulta and some points, so i went there- $30-$5= $25, plus a free travel case (bc I def needed that, right?). I decided to try it tonight while watching the Ravens. My family had a great laugh about it, so hopefully they're past it, but probably not... For those of you curious if it works, I will try to keep up documenting my 30 day journey. I even took a few pics, although I'm soooo not comfortable showing my face in its current state. My face has about 5 blemishes right now, chin/mouth area, two are cystic and hurt, although better than yesterday for sure. If I forget details or you have questions, feel free to ask. I just got finished using it. Directions are pretty simple: start with a clean face, put mask on like a pair of sunglasses, push button. It lights up right away, and goes off after 15 minutes on its own. The counter starts at 30, and counts down 1 each time you turn it on. There is no such thing as a pause , if you stop and start, it will deduct a use from the counter. So 30 uses, 30 days, less than a dollar a day. I don't know if it works, but what the heck...if it were $100, I'd say no until someone else tried it first, but $25 is worth it, My first impression is yea right, but I'm hopeful. Fifteen minutes went by pretty quickly. I will say, there is virtually no line of vision- I can only see if the room is lit up, and only in front of me. Forget walking down the steps or even typing...just takes too much effort. Day 1: Begin. 5 blemishes- 3 on day 2 of healing. Day 2: 5 blemishes, sorta dried out, two still raised and red, although not painful. Day 3: So far, healing nicely. No more pain, but now I'm fighting the dryness. I've had to moisturize throughout the day b/c layers of skin is starting to peel, which I'll trade for pain and red. The two cystic are raised but have subsided a little. Day 4: Last night- my face was dry. I used the mask and did my skincare routine. The bumps are still there. They'll be around for a while. Nothing new coming in behind it, which is a good sign. Day 5-10: Dry around the chin/mouth area, but no new spots to write about. YAY! Day 20: All is clear- dryness has subsided significantly. Just trying to reduce redness now.
I got the Clinique air brushed concealer because i normally love their products because they are friendly to skin but i have started using it in places other than under my eyes recently (bridge of nose, between/above my brows, cupids bow all to do some highlighting with my foundation) and it made me break out like crazy well at least i think it's the culprit. But i'm wondering if anyone knows of a concealer i can use anywhere on my face that either helps fight acne or if you know of one that does not cause you to break out??
I have been trying a variety of exfoliators for years, but I break out whenever I use one (it seems). I know that dead skin is building up if I don't use anything, but I haven't found one that doesn't break me out (I have been trying gentler and gentler scrubs- right now, Philosophy Mircrodelivery). What can I do to remove dead skin?
I have keratosis pilaris on my arms and I've found something to take care of that. However, I have it on my forehead and have no idea how to get rid of it! My skin is relatively dry, acne-free with the occasional whitehead, and somewhat sensitive (it gets red easily). I worked for a company for 2 years that sells skincare so I have a decent amount of knowledge on skincare, but I still haven't found anything good for the KP on my face. Help please? I don't really have a price range. Thanks!
I just started using my Foreo Mini about a week ago and Im starting to break out! I'm wondering fi this has happened to anyone else? is it maybe a result of the pores unclogging?? Anyone else having the same issue?
I have acne scars that show up pink/red on my light skin. I'm looking for a product to get rid of them seeing they are unattractive and at times hard to cover up with make up. I need a recommendations of products to get rid of my unwanted scars for my sensitive and oily skin. Thanks in advance.
I am just putting my haul together to post online and was just sitting and looking at it. Almost all of it is Algenist, two full boxes of it. Now I can truly say I have tried every product that they sell. I have not found one that I did not love. Am I the only one that's just CRAZY OVER THIS? I love the products and also love there packaging. I know some sY that packaging is not important but to me it is. Please share if you also have this addition to it. I will have my haul up in about an hour. Thanks in advance and happy shopping, Dan
So I have been interested in the glam glow super cleanse fashwash. The problem is, I have the foreo Luna mini and it says not to use exfoliating washes with it because it can wear down the bristles.... Is the glam glow face wash exfoliating, or more of just a mud with no extra exfoliating bits? Any advice would be wonderful!!!!!
Where in my regimen do I use a dark spot corrector? Before my serum or after? I feel like if I use any product on top it will move the spot corrector around and not be on the spot anymore to do its job. Rough life I tell ya
I use a tretinoin (Tazorac, like Retin A) cream in the PM to help with my regular and cystic acne, but am still finding I still have a lot of scarring with darker pigmentation from a particularly bad summer. (Turns out my bc was GIVING me acne). What else can I add to my routine to help minimize these dark spots? I'm finding I'm more self conscious of them now that I'm dating more and am considering the Clarisonic and/or a peel but am seeking your help. Right now my AM regime is REN Rosa Centifolia Purity Cleansing Balm (to help with the peeling), Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner, Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster, Perricone MD Photo Plasma, then makeup. My PM regime is a mild cleanser (looking for a new one), Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner, Tazorac. Where would my Truth Serum Collagen Booster fit in at night (this should be helping with the dark spots, right)? Should I be using a nighttime moisturizer? Help please! I'm 30 with combination skin. Thanks guys. I'm all ears.
I have every problem under the sun. Anyone know of a miracle foundation that is good for... HUGE pores Redness Sometimes dry, sometimes oily skin Wrinkles / Fine lines Always looks like makeup is cakey no matter what I do. I need a miracle! Hehe Thanks!
I am in the market for a face mask that will help my acne-prone, sensitive skin. I have been looking at Origins Clear Improvement, Peter Thomas Roth therapeutic sulfur masque & Kate Somerville clearing mask. As i stated before, my skin is sensitive and easily becomes red/inflamed. I am leaning toward the Kate Somerville mask because it helps reduce acnes scars (which I have around my mouth). Any suggestions or reccomendations would be helfpful!
I have tried so many different products to clear my blackheads on the nose - from pore strips and clay masks to Clarisonic and face scrubs. Nothing seems to even remotely get rid of them. My regular skin care routine is washing my face with Ole Henriksen African Tea face wash with a Clarisonic, the Vitamin C serum, then OH moisturizer So far the only thing that has worked for me to get rid of the pesky blackheads is a comedone extractor tool. But I fear it is damaging to my skin as I do it twice a week. I feel like clay masks do nothing to battle them. Mario Badescu Silver powder has helped a little, but not much. Any recommendations on foolproof blackhead prevention and extraction?
I'm hoping someone could give me a recommendation for a new cleanser. I have combination skin that is usually pretty clear. I've been using the FAB cleanser, but now I'm having problems with blackheads and a couple small breakouts. I don't usually like cleansers with tons of salicylic acid in them. I was thinking of trying the glamglow cleanser or maybe one of the boscia cleansers? Thanks for any help!
Im struggling with acne again, My clear streak is over for now. Im watching to Today show and they showed the Illumask for acne or antiaging. I looked it up and they sell it at Ulta. Its $30, and it lasts for 30 days. Has anyone tried it for help with acne? They say its comparable to the derm, but Ive not done that either. Any advice or recommendations for this or something comparable?
I decided to start a proper skincare routine a few months back and had a lot of help from the community here to choose products to begin with! At the end of every day I've been using the Ole Henriksen makeup remover, FAB daily cleanser, FAB facial radiance pads and Ole Henrksen moisturizer. Once a week I use the FAB red clay mask. But recently I've been under a lot of stress and breaking out a ton. I'm getting a lot of large, red, under-the-skin bumps which last forever, and smaller bumps due to clogged pores. My skincare routine is not cutting it - I'd like to switch up the products I'm using. I think I'd like to start with replacing the FAB bits because I really love the look, smell and feel of the Ole Henriksen stuff
Just over a week ago I purchased the new Sephora Great Cleanse set. I was excited to try out the algenist cream/ oil cleanser, but I am having a reaction to it. I'm breaking out in huuge deep blemishes that are painful to the touch! I'm not sure If I should just not be using the Algenist or if my skin is just freaking out because I'm trying something new, and will eventually settle down if I stick with the Algenist. What do you think? Have any of you had that kind of reaction? I've tried the Algenist eye cream and haven't had a reaction to it. I feel so-so about the face oil as it sometimes can give me a slightly stingy sensation.
Hi, I am in my late 20s and I am looking for something I can do to help minimize my acne scars? I have had acne for awhile. Is there something I can use until I can afford to see a dermatologist? Thanks!
