I need a top-notch dermatologist. The two I've seen here have repeatedly ignored my requests for a skin care regimen. I have had acne since I was a teenager, been on Accutane twice I think between the ages of 18-26. It worked temporarily then my acne came back and I haven't been able to get rid of it since. I have acne on my face, behind my ears, scalp, and throat/neck. Some are the painful kind. I don't get whiteheads, just mainly nodular. My skin is t-zone oily and normal in other areas. I have an oily scalp and oily eyelids. I have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp and hairline. The dermatitis used to affect my forehead and cheeks but thankfully not any more. Right now it's just my scalp but is under control with a prescription shampoo. Back to the acne, no topical medications have worked for me. I'm almost 39 years old and haven't had clear or healthy skin since before puberty. PLEASE PLEASE help.
Hello. I am in 6th grade and I think that I have acne. My mom and sister says that I don't have it I just have a few pimples, but every single time I look in the mirrror, bare faced, my self-esteem lowers. My sister also has acne and she is 17, and my mom had it when she was around my age. They say it's just genetics, and that I'm growing and that all the oil on my skin is what is causing all of these pimples. I try to believe but I can't help but notice all of the other 6th grade girls that are "growing" too, have perfect skin with not 1 flaw. So, I use makeup. Some may think its weird, for a 6th grader to nbe using makeup, but it's help me with my self-esteem. I have tried what seems like every acne-free product in the universe. I have tried Murad, GoodforyouGirls, FAB, Shiseido,Clinique, ELF, and many more. I tried to ask my mom to buy me some things that I read about online, that have good ratings, but she says that once I'm done "growing" I'll be fine. Its quite agrivating. If any of you would help me, give me options that HAVE WORKED, because it seems like there is no cure, P.S, please give things that are in a 6thgraders, price range. Thank you!
In about 14 days I'll be starting Accutane. My skin is fairly oily now with moderate, stubborn acne on my face, back, and chest. I'm currently using CeraVe products in my skincare (oily face wash, AM and PM moisturizers, occasionally the hydrating face wash). I've researched skincare that I can use to prevent extreme drying but I'm wondering what works best. PS: I'm only a teenager without a job, so the lower the price, the better!
Hello Beautymates, I am 18years old I have acne its not too bad I know how to deal with the ups and down it brings but my skin it starting to have quite an uneven texture, very bumpy, and some of my pores are starting to look a little wonky any help or suggestions would be welcomed.
I wanted to see if anyone could make a recommendation for me! My skin is finally clearing up from battling with acne, but I still have a pretty uneven texture. It's like there are tiny undeveloped bumps underneath my skin near my cheeks especially. Can someone give me a suggestion for any skincare products that might be able to smooth out my skin! I'm also on a budget. Thanks!
I currently use Smashbox 15 hour hydrating foundation in shade 1.1 with Makeup For Ever full coverage concealer in shade 3. I find that no matter what concealer shade I have tried, it doesn't blend well into my foundation, and I more often than not, can see where my concealer has been applied as the day goes on. I need a concealer to cover a couple red blemish scars on my cheeks that haven't quite faded yet. Has anyone been matched with 2y04 and has found the perfect concealer for red marks, or does anyone here use Smashbox 1.1 and has found the perfect concealer to disappear with this foundation? I would appreciate any suggestions on concealer products, and tips on covering blemishes with this foundation IQ result and the Smashbox foundation.
Hi, I worked really hard with Sephora customer service to get VIB Rouge emails to come through to me. It occurs to me that I haven't received a rouge email in a long time. Can someone let me know when their last email was? I hope my problem with emails hasn't resurfaced.
Hi Ladies, I have skin that is very prone to moderate acne. I don't want moisturizer that combats acne because I have other things to help with that. It can't have salicylic acid or anything like that in it. I need a non-comedogenic moisturizer with no fragrance and oil-free that doesn't make me oily and shiny throughout the day. I've already tried: Clear Days Ahead, the PTR Oil-Free Moisturizer, NARS Aqua Gel, Clinique Dramatically Different, and one of the Boscia moisturizers (it was oil-free in a white tube). They all broke me out. I've been looking at the Estee Lauder Clear Difference Moisturizer. There's only one review on Sephora. Do you guys know anything about it? Can anyone suggest even a line that I can look into if not a specific product? My dermatologist suggested the CeraVe moisturizer and it's fine but it makes me really shiny. Thank you!
I got a Clarisonic last christmas and I started using it twice a day, every day and of course my skin freaked out. I tried using Philosophy's Purity Made Simple and Fresh's Soy Face Cleanser and neither of them seemed to help with the acne. I then tried using my clarisonic once a day then every other day and finally I gave Clarisonic's acne brush head and cleanser a try. The acne cleanser made the problem worse. After three months of no end to the "purge" I finally gave up and went back to using Proactiv + which works to keep my skin pimple free but it's also really drying. I bought this really expensive tool and I want to use it because I loved how it made my skin feel. I am not super diligent with my proactiv and I mainly use it every other day at night to try and give my skin some time to get some hydration back but really what's the point? I hate using the proactiv and I have had a lot of problems just getting the stuff sent to me so I'm just fed up with them. I have acne prone skin but lately my skin is more dry and the main reason I use the proactiv now is to help get rid of flaky patches around my eyebrows, nose and around my mouth because my acne seems pretty under control because it's a pretty mild version. It's also a double edge sword because of course I have to pack on some kind of moisturizer after using the proactiv and like I said, I'm just fed up. Has anyone had SUCESS using something with their clarisonic to help prevent acne but still have moisture in their skin? I am scared to try and use my clarisonic again because I'm worried my skin with start purging (and won't stop) but if anyone has any tips, tricks or advice I'm all ears because I'm really concerned that just using make up remover wipes and a simple cleanser isnt' really cleaning my skin (when I don't use proactiv).
I am looking for a facewash to help my super combo skin! My t zone is extremely oily while my cheeks are pretty normal to sometimes dry. I do have a good number of break outs on my chin and cheek bones. Murad didnt help much and I have liked the First Aid Beaty but that doesnt help the blemishes. Anyone have any suggestions on great products for this?
Hi, I'm looking to tweak my current skincare regimen. I'm 24 years old. As a teenager I never really had problems with my face, other than a random pimple here or there. But now I have pimples all over my forehead, down the sides of my temples, a couple on my cheeks close to my nose, and on my chin. My skin is combo. My T-zone is a bit oily and it shines. My cheeks are normal to dry. My main concerns are the pimples, my huge freaking pores, and the redness associated with post-zits. In the last week I've been tweaking my routine and I find my skin has been improving. I think I'm using the masks too often as now my cheeks are getting really dry in some areas and they weren't before. A lovely SA suggested that I add the Glamglow Supermud Cleanser, their masks, the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster, and an Ole Henriksen moisturizer (I forget the name and it wasn't clear on the sample). So my current skincare regimen is as follows: *Note, I don't have an AM routine. I usually just rinse off last's nights creams, apply a primer and do my makeup. I've been thinking of adding an AM routine lately but I'm not sure. **PM Routine: I remove my makeup using Philosophy's Purity Cleanser. I use Neutrogena's Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover for whatever eye makeup didn't come off. When I don't wear makeup I would use Boscia's Detoxifying Black Cleanser but now I've switched that out for Glamglow's Supermud Cleanser . If I'm doing a mask or exfoliation, here is where I'll do it. Before the tweak I had been using MAC's Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator . Once a week I use Boscia's Luminizing Black Mask . Since the tweak, I haven't used the MAC exfoliator and I've been using both the Glamglow Youthmud and Supermud masks every other day together. On the other day I would use Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask . As a toner I use Boscia's Clear Complexions Tonic . I've recently added a serum, Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster . Then I apply Boscia's No Pores No Shine T-Zone Treatment . For a moisturizer, I was using Philosophy's Hope In A Jar for winter and in the summer I use Boscia's Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel . Now, I'm trying out the Ole Henriksen one that was recommended to me. When my cheeks are really dry I use Glamglow's Thirstymud mask . For an eye cream, I'm not using anything special, just going through the tons of eye cream samples that I have. And finally I apply The Body Shop's Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion . I was thinking of adding more things from Boscia's Clear Complexion line. I've also heard good things about Murad, Ole Henriksen, and Fresh. So I'm just looking for suggestions on products I can add to my routine based on my skincare needs. Also I'm not sure where to start with a morning routine. Thanks!
Hi Sephora... I am recently disappointed that you guys do not carry so many of the Bobbi Brown skin care products (extra repair cream, hydrating toner, etc.) Would there be a day where you carry more of those?
I am a very young 72 - I look younger than a lot of 50 year olds and I feel better than I did at 35.... however, I have one continuing problem with my complexion, that no matter what I do, I simply cannot find a solution. I have whiteheads in my chin that frequently revert to cystic acne. I have a long history of cystic acne since childhoods - My face is scar-less thanks to dermabrasion, but my back still shows the scars - I use clay products and masks - Peter Thomas Roih products - assorted Murad products, but I just don't seem to get the right combination - I try using a lance - never squeeze - but my chin is still unsightly - the pores are still large on my chin, although not so anywhere else on my face - Does anyone have a great suggestion for stubborn whiteheads! AT 72 you would think I would have outgrown acne! PS I have few wrinkles and so my complexion is smooth everywhere else.
Hello! My name is Brittany and I am 18 years old. My skin type is mostly dry, and very dry especially in the colder months. I have these horrible acne scars on my cheekbones, and recently I have been breaking out a lot on my chin. I'll wake up and have like 3 pimples on my chin and these awful acne scars on my cheekbones. Has anyone tried any life changing skincare routine for dry skin with acne problems? I am desperate! Thank you! Xoxo
I have been on a mission to declutter my make up drawers. I want to have more of my items on display so I remember to use certain things daily. What items do you use to keep your make up organized and looking nice?
A limerick inspired by Butterblume's fun Sephora haiku thread. I’m bored with my makeup –the horror! I MUST run right now to Sephora. The swatching is grand And I’ll try every brand, But of course, when I leave I’ll be poorer! Anyone else?
I'm 24, most of my breakouts happen on my T-zone however blackheads started popping up on my cheeks…yuck. I'm looking for a toner, serum, AM moisturizer that doesn't cause breakouts, and a sun protectant. Also a night routine without the sun screen. I use Clarisonic Sensitive Skin Cleansing Gel 3-4 times a week and a Charcoal Cleanser when I am not using my Clarisonic. I use Murad Pore Exfoliating Treatment and Pore Refiner when I don't use my clarisonic. Also a Charcol Mask once a week. I also have dark circle under my eyes and starting to see fine lines on my forehead. I've used Shishido Refining Kit with the whole package. I hate clinique. I've used Intervine, Alba, ROC products, Vichy Products, and Skin Ceuticals as well as Dr. Brandt Pores No More everything, and over the counter Aveno does not Work. Any suggestions for an am moisturizer that won't break me out and fight wrinkles, something that will glance my skin out, an eye cream for dark circles during the day, and something that will make my skin glow, and sun protectant to keep me protected. Also a night oil, cream, or serum that fights aging as well as acne fighting and hydrating! Any advice?
I have trouble doing winged Eyeliner. I can do the right eye but the left eye looks horrible.. Does anyone else have trouble doing the other eye? Also is gel eyeliner the easiest to use for applying it on the eye?
