My skin has been a mess for the past three months and I feel like I've tried everything. Any recommendations to clear my acne up would be so appreciated! Here's my current routine: AM: tone with Lush Tea Tree Water, Josie Maran argan whipped face butter, and the NARs tinted moisturizer spf 30 PM: wash with Youth to the people cleanser, Kate Somerville Anti Bac benzoyl peroxide treatment, and Ole Henriksen invigorating night creme OR Josie Maran light argan oil I have tried Paula's Choice 2% BHA, Belief aqua bomb, Ole Henriksen find your balance cleanser, Ole Henriksen find your balance toner, most Murad products (the post acne spot serum worked, but its recommended to stop use after 3 months), Tarte maracuja oil, Kate Somerville eradikate cleanser, Ole Henriksen invigorating night treatment, Ole Henriksen truth serum, etc. I feel like I've tried it all. I'm even on spironolactone which totally cleared my skin last year when I first started it. I did stop using a benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin treatment back in November that I was on for 10 years, but I wouldn't think it'd take 3 months for my skin to break out again. But my skin was clearest on spiro and benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin. So now I've introduced the Kate anti bac and have seen some results, however I'm so dry and still getting new break outs. I am desperate for any advice. I've spent these last 3 months with trial and error
I'm looking for a new face wash for night time, I currently use PTR Glycolic Acid 3% facial wash, but am looking for something different. I have a few in mind which I pictured below. I have oily skin with tons of acne scars, with the occasional hormonal break out, i also sometimes use my clarisonic 1-3 times per week. Love a good light exfoliating face wash as well as hydrating!! I'm leaning towards Ole but I love PTR and Ren has great reviews and says its gentle which i love and omg I can't decide. Please help and leave any other suggestions!!
I'm a teen and I constantly have breakouts on my cheeks and between my eyebrows. I've tried lots of products, (I use them for a few months before I judge them,) and none of them do anything for me! Not only do I get pimples, but I also have scars left over from previous breakouts. Help! What do I use? Any tips?
My son has really bad eczema and I need help finding something that will relieve the symptoms i.e. itching. I want to go organic because I understand that product with less ingredients usually come with less potential side effects. Help Please!!
Hi all, I recently got that awesome Tarte Mother Nature's Miracle Discovery Set and I've been playing around with all the products. My skin has been breaking out, but I'm not sure if it's purging due to the new products or the products don't work for me. I have a history of cystic prone acne but the past year my skin has been amazing, so I wasn't too concerned at first. I've read that the maracuja oil is incredible for acne prone skin so I'm not sure what's going on! Other than the small breakouts, my skin feels velvety soft and softened already. I really want to keep using this product, so if anyone has had a similar experience, I'd love to know!
I've been struggling with cystic acne on my cheeks and it's been driving me insane because it always leaves an actual scar no matter how gentle I am. While I know that products at Sephora can't help with physical scars, I do want to prevent the acne so I can prevent more scarring. Please let me know if you know of any products that work well for this type of acne! I have oily (stubborn, in general) skin and clogged pores here and there. I've heard of the Renee Rouleau Anti Cyst treatment being good but you can't buy that at Sephora.
I had really bad acne up until 2 years ago. I don't have problems with the acne anymore, because I have made major adjustments to my diet. However, I am having trouble getting rid of some of the spots that the acne left. What is the best product for this problem?
Hi guys. I have oily skin so I've been using the Josie Maran argon oil for a couple months now and its definitely made me less oily but I feel as if it may be clogging my pores and causing breakouts since it is a little heavy. I only use it at night but what do yall think of the light version? Thanks a ton!
I have clogged pores on my chin and blackheads on my nose. The biore nose strips or face strips never worked on them. I don't get much pimples and my skin isn't dry or oily. I need something that will help get rid the blackheads and clogged pores, I have a cheap olay facial cleaner like the electric brush. It dosn't work. I also tried the youinge charcoal mask, it did nothing.
Hello everyone, I am looking for a sunscreen for my face that goes nicely under makeup. I have very dry and reactive skin. I do have mild rosacea that sometimes becomes sever acne rosacea. I have tried chemical sunscreens such as Lancome and La Roche Posay, but my skin doesn't tolerate them as well as it used to. I am allergic to an ingredient in Frist Aid Beauty and cannot use their products. I have looked at Josie Maran's SPF, but it contains beeswax and I am allergic to beeswax. Please keep in mind that I live in Canada and do not have access to a lot of sunscreens normally recommended such Drunk Elephant and MDSolarScience. Does anyone with rosacea and severely reactive and allergic prone skin have any recommendations? Preferably a mineral sunscreen. I am on a medication that makes me sensitive to the sun and has caused my skin issues (any my allergy to beeswax!) Therefore sunscreen is really important, and I am looking for one that will not affect the look of my foundation. Thank you!
I know that Sephora doesn't sell Illamasqua anymore, Nordstrom never has, and now I see that it is no longer on Bloomingdales website. Does anyone know where Illamasqua can be found in the States? I am definitely not paying international shipping from the UK.
Hey guys! I have dry and sensitive, acne-prone skin, and I'm always looking for new cleansing oils because I've not found my favorite yet. So far I've used The Face Shop Rice Water Cleansing oils and KOSE Softly Mu Cleansing oil which are more affordable. I've used BanilaCo Clean It Zero and Heimish Cleansing Balm, but I have a Newfoundland dog so his hair gets EVERYWHERE in products in tubs so I prefer pumps...hence a preference for cleansing oils. Thanks!
Hi! I was seeing if any ladies out there had some recommendations for products they have been using. I'm turning 25 in a few weeks, and looking for some new products. I have comination skin, acne-prone and scarring. Looking for day and night products! Thanks!
Hello! Me again I'm still working on getting the best skin care routine for my skin and keep it clear, so far no such luck. I've learned about low pH cleansers being better for your skin, acne prone specifically, so I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations? I was looking into the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip but apparently Silicone is bad for acne prone? If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, even for other products in my routine, that would be stellar!
I have some pretty bad stomach issues & in between going to the doctor i"ve been told to try a detox. I never did because I'd always felt peculiar about them. Anyways - I finally decided to try it...& my face is HORRIBLE!!! Is this normal? Does this have anything to even do with it? Honestly, it just made me feel better just to blame it on something else rather than my skin just purely sucking! I also heard a cleanse would help my skin because I would be getting rid of all the gross yuck inside! Is this true? These are the products I'm using now (GENTLE! - I don't get it!) -Kate Sommerville Goatmilk Cleanser -Josie Maran - I switch back and forth between The Argan Oil, Face Butter, Day Moisturizer w/ SPF (mainly the SPF during the day & I'll add the oil if my face is pretty dry - it's been super dehydrated lately!) Kate Sommerville Exfolicate Wash - I just bought this yesterday bc once this is over I know I'm gonna need. Gotta be prepared! lol Bascailly - are these good products to be using during a time like this? Is there anything else I can do to help this issue?
Hi everyone! I'm looking for a good face mask to use once a week, that will help control my acne and prevent further breakouts. I know there are a ton of good ones out there, just trying to find something that will FINALLY work for me! Thanks, y'all. I appreciate it
this is my first cystic acne breakout - and it's on my forehead and going on 3 months now. Healing as it goes - and then new ones emerge overnight. I've always been acne prone, and have a simple routine that helps any surface acne. I had my first cystic acne break out on my forehead/hairline (the ones that are big and deep where they take a long time to drain or shrink). I blame the period where I tried a bunch of new skincare, not remembering that my skin easily clogs (from thicker foundations too). It's not folliculitis cause they don't itch, and they aren't milia cause I had milia my entire life and I know the difference. Whatever exfoliation liquids or those "acne" pads I tried, they only irritated and made my bumps worse. And on top of that after 3 weeks, they gave me fine lines that I've never had before. So I really don't want to use them anymore. But I still have no idea what these bumps are. I'm on my third month. JUST as my forehead starts clearing up, NEW ones reform. My old simple routine that works with my dry dry sensitive skin: Aveeno intense moisture overnight cream (this cream saved my dry dry flaky skin for years now with no problem) bio oil for acne scars and rough skin Products I've tried to use for this bad breakout and the current bumps: Cosrx one step pimple clear pads (made it worse) Sonoma tea tree oil serum (made it worse) Arcona aftershave pads (I think made it worse) Aloe vera Gel (I used for a little bit, but the formula has parabens) Aloe vera leaves (wow it made me breakout a whole new fresh batch) Paula's choice CLEAR regular strength exfoliating solution (honestly it gave me fine lines. stopped it immediately) aztec clay mask w/ ACV (regulates it but is not helping) Mario drying lotion, and drying cream help bring them to a head. but that doesn't stop new ones from forming. Cosrx pimple patches (have worked very well to drain and bring some bumps to a head) Please - WHY is it when I'm starting to see improvement and a smoother surface, NEW acne reforms and the process starts all over again? This is the first time I'm experiencing this type of acne and even my close ones are like "why isn't your forehead healing at all?" I just bought probiotics today and hoping that it will work. But meanwhile, I really don't want to go to the term in case of any more "suggested" chemicals that will ruin my skin. please please please
Hey everyone! I have been breaking out across my cheeks, temples and neck for the past few months or more and I have tried maybe 6 different cleansers, serums, and spot treatments. Nothing is touching this. It's getting worse and actually have been having people notice and comment on my acne. I generally have had dry skin, but maybe not anymore? I never had acne growing up and I'm now 27 years old dealing with this. Any product recommendations? Please Help and Thank You!
I have fairly bad acne. I always get large cystic spots and it takes forever to go away. I'm looking for more of a high end brand that'll hopefully not only help with acne, but help with anti aging/ overall skincare and as strange as it is I like when it looks pretty on my counter Any suggestions (I was thinking "rose" by the fresh line but it seems more for moisturizing rather than acne).
I've dealt with acne for a few years now, and as a result I've been left with some post-acne marks. They are flat and redish. It also does not help that I am very pale. Does anyone know a product or anything I can do that will diminish them?
I HAVE SEVERE CYSTIC ACNE AND IT HURTS I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING AND NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. DOES ANYONE LIKE ME HAVE ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS THAT COULD HELP OUT ON SOME TIPS OR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO CONTROL THE ISSUE....PLEASE AND THANK YOU EVERYONE
