Hi everyone! I'm looking for a good face mask to use once a week, that will help control my acne and prevent further breakouts. I know there are a ton of good ones out there, just trying to find something that will FINALLY work for me! Thanks, y'all. I appreciate it
this is my first cystic acne breakout - and it's on my forehead and going on 3 months now. Healing as it goes - and then new ones emerge overnight. I've always been acne prone, and have a simple routine that helps any surface acne. I had my first cystic acne break out on my forehead/hairline (the ones that are big and deep where they take a long time to drain or shrink). I blame the period where I tried a bunch of new skincare, not remembering that my skin easily clogs (from thicker foundations too). It's not folliculitis cause they don't itch, and they aren't milia cause I had milia my entire life and I know the difference. Whatever exfoliation liquids or those "acne" pads I tried, they only irritated and made my bumps worse. And on top of that after 3 weeks, they gave me fine lines that I've never had before. So I really don't want to use them anymore. But I still have no idea what these bumps are. I'm on my third month. JUST as my forehead starts clearing up, NEW ones reform. My old simple routine that works with my dry dry sensitive skin: Aveeno intense moisture overnight cream (this cream saved my dry dry flaky skin for years now with no problem) bio oil for acne scars and rough skin Products I've tried to use for this bad breakout and the current bumps: Cosrx one step pimple clear pads (made it worse) Sonoma tea tree oil serum (made it worse) Arcona aftershave pads (I think made it worse) Aloe vera Gel (I used for a little bit, but the formula has parabens) Aloe vera leaves (wow it made me breakout a whole new fresh batch) Paula's choice CLEAR regular strength exfoliating solution (honestly it gave me fine lines. stopped it immediately) aztec clay mask w/ ACV (regulates it but is not helping) Mario drying lotion, and drying cream help bring them to a head. but that doesn't stop new ones from forming. Cosrx pimple patches (have worked very well to drain and bring some bumps to a head) Please - WHY is it when I'm starting to see improvement and a smoother surface, NEW acne reforms and the process starts all over again? This is the first time I'm experiencing this type of acne and even my close ones are like "why isn't your forehead healing at all?" I just bought probiotics today and hoping that it will work. But meanwhile, I really don't want to go to the term in case of any more "suggested" chemicals that will ruin my skin. please please please
Hey everyone! I have been breaking out across my cheeks, temples and neck for the past few months or more and I have tried maybe 6 different cleansers, serums, and spot treatments. Nothing is touching this. It's getting worse and actually have been having people notice and comment on my acne. I generally have had dry skin, but maybe not anymore? I never had acne growing up and I'm now 27 years old dealing with this. Any product recommendations? Please Help and Thank You!
My skin has been a mess for the past three months and I feel like I've tried everything. Any recommendations to clear my acne up would be so appreciated! Here's my current routine: AM: tone with Lush Tea Tree Water, Josie Maran argan whipped face butter, and the NARs tinted moisturizer spf 30 PM: wash with Youth to the people cleanser, Kate Somerville Anti Bac benzoyl peroxide treatment, and Ole Henriksen invigorating night creme OR Josie Maran light argan oil I have tried Paula's Choice 2% BHA, Belief aqua bomb, Ole Henriksen find your balance cleanser, Ole Henriksen find your balance toner, most Murad products (the post acne spot serum worked, but its recommended to stop use after 3 months), Tarte maracuja oil, Kate Somerville eradikate cleanser, Ole Henriksen invigorating night treatment, Ole Henriksen truth serum, etc. I feel like I've tried it all. I'm even on spironolactone which totally cleared my skin last year when I first started it. I did stop using a benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin treatment back in November that I was on for 10 years, but I wouldn't think it'd take 3 months for my skin to break out again. But my skin was clearest on spiro and benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin. So now I've introduced the Kate anti bac and have seen some results, however I'm so dry and still getting new break outs. I am desperate for any advice. I've spent these last 3 months with trial and error
I have fairly bad acne. I always get large cystic spots and it takes forever to go away. I'm looking for more of a high end brand that'll hopefully not only help with acne, but help with anti aging/ overall skincare and as strange as it is I like when it looks pretty on my counter Any suggestions (I was thinking "rose" by the fresh line but it seems more for moisturizing rather than acne).
I have clogged pores on my chin and blackheads on my nose. The biore nose strips or face strips never worked on them. I don't get much pimples and my skin isn't dry or oily. I need something that will help get rid the blackheads and clogged pores, I have a cheap olay facial cleaner like the electric brush. It dosn't work. I also tried the youinge charcoal mask, it did nothing.
I've dealt with acne for a few years now, and as a result I've been left with some post-acne marks. They are flat and redish. It also does not help that I am very pale. Does anyone know a product or anything I can do that will diminish them?
I HAVE SEVERE CYSTIC ACNE AND IT HURTS I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING AND NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. DOES ANYONE LIKE ME HAVE ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS THAT COULD HELP OUT ON SOME TIPS OR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO CONTROL THE ISSUE....PLEASE AND THANK YOU EVERYONE

Hi! I am currently 23 years old and have suffered from acne my whole life. I have recently been using Proactiv+ but stopped because it wasn't having a great affect on my acne or skin. I started to use Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correcting pads along with Dermalogica Medibac face wash and a toner. My face cleared up somewhat well but now I have these little tiny bumps/breakouts all over my face. I never used to get those, and rather I would get bigger acne bumps. Should I switch to using another skin care product? Does anyone have any ideas? PLEASE HELP!
I didn't have acne as a teenager, a few pimples here and there. Now I'm in my 20s and am struggling with acne (fml) I have tons of scars now and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for products that will reduce the appearance of these scars. Or any preventative measures!
Hi, Im looking to acne scars products that will work for acnes also, I have combo/oily skin , I have been getting so much breakouts recently and hyperpigmentation os horrible. I got it in control last yr. I was using a prescription topical cream 1% which is Adapalene, Im still using it now but i noticed its not working the same. I have been using Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum. I tried the Philosphy Microdelivery peel and it ripped my face off so I discontinued it. Then I tried the First aide Radiance Pads, i dont know if its working yet I only started using it 4days ago. By the wat I was using Glytone Brightening peel but it just too strong for my skin. Hi! I am using Dr. Dennis Gross Pell + Brigthen with Clinique acne solutions serum. Would those product work less because I use them together? And would actually this peel will make my skin Peeling? Thank you!!!!
Hello! I am looking for a new skincare routine and unsure if I should try the DRUNK ELEPHANT Day/Night sets or the SUNDAY RILEY New School Skincare Set (As they no longer sell Squad Goals) as I've heard amazing stuff for both. I am still a newbie and currently using a Korean skincare but I seem to keep breaking out now that I am older and almost done with it. My skin is sensitive, dry, now ACNE prone, blemish/ hyper-pigmentation spots and uneven skintone. Also I am turning 30 and want some anti-wrinkle skincare added to my routine. can anyone recommend on past experience, which one will help me the most! Thanks in advance!
Hello! I was hoping you guys could help me figure out if i'm purging or having a bad reaction to the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum. I started it on Tuesday, using it every second morning. I have since broken out in four new pimples and one that was barely there when I started has come to the surface. I know that Vitamin C can cause a purging like this and I was just hoping for some help determining if that's what's happening. I would really like to know before I use it for a month and totally wreck my face (it scars really easily unfortunately). Thanks in advance!
Hi! I have a few questions and concerns about my skin 1- i have very bumpy skin. around my inner cheeks and my horehead, and near my nose. They are small bumps, most are skincolored, but some are red. Ive had them since I was 10, and nothing would help. I had acne early, since i was 9, and it was moderate. nothing severe. I just have these pesky bumps that do not go away no matter what i do. 2- I have dark spots on the side of my face. I was wondering how to get those to heal and have an even skin tone 3- I have acne scabs, so post acne scabs. I want to get rid of these overnight if possible. All i want is a clear, healthy, smooth, vibrant face. I prefer some advice on how to prevent these issues, and how to heal them naturally, using natural ingrediants and poducts, as i have very sensitive combination skin. My acne is not severe, it is moderate. Right now i am currently using: the body shop vitimin e cleanser, body shop vitimin e toner, body shop tea tree skin clearing clay mask, clarasonic mia2, mario badescu buffering lotion, mario badescu drying lotion, mario badescu enzyme cleansing gel, mario badescu drying cream. **I do not use these products every single day, i use my cleansers every day, my mask 2-3 times a week, and my mario badescu acne products when i need them. please help, i have been dealing with these issues for years now.
I tend to get acne on my forehead. I have combination skin. Oily forehead and nose and dry cheeks and chin. The acne on my forehead is like these ingrown pimples that are swollen from inside (like small bumps) and if i apply pressure to them, they become a white head pimple after a day or so. Sometimes they give out a clear liquid too which seems like water?oil? I'm not sure what i need to use to get rid of them. Any ideas?
I have very oily skin and always break out. I'm on an oral medication for my acne but I need some type of acne kit to wash my face with and have a daily routine. I have moderate acne, blackheads, and big pores. I was looking at the clinique acne solutions and murad one. Which one would you recommend? or something else?
Are the products I'm using causing this to happen? My routine: (AM) Ceramic Slip cleanser, La Roche-Posay thermal water, Good Genes Lactic Acid, PTR hyaluronic cloud cream for moisturizer. (PM) Ceramic Slip cleanser, Thermal Water spray, Paulas Choice BHA liquid, Good Genes (sometimes at night) PTR hyaluronic cloud cream. HELP HELP HELP? I have very consistent acne prone skin around the chin and jaw line as well as enlarged pores and lots of black heads along the nose right now. Here are some photos of my skin without makeup and what it's been looking like recently. One in the AM and one right before I went to bed. Thanks a bunch!
This is one area I have zero experience in. I can do my makeup ( and i wear alot lol ) without a mirror, and usually under 10 minutes if i have to. And since i like to sleep, i usually have to. I want to get into countouring. I had it done in store once and LOVED the outcome. Anyone have any recs for something that isn't going to take 45 minutes in the morning?
I am using my own acne system kit now but they do not have a serum and I want to use my own serum and sleeping mask, so I want to know if these products would cause pore clogging or acne so that my acne system kit efforts would be wasted Please see the following list Laneige Bright Renew Original Serum http://www.sephora.com/bright-renew-original-serum -P399793?skuId=1749829&icid2=products%20grid 399793 Laneige Bright Renew Capsule Sleeping Mask http://www.sephora.com/bright-renew-capsule-sleepi ng-mask-P407655?keyword=LANEIGE%20Bright%20Renew%2 ... Body acne sucks. It sucks more than having acne on your face because it seems more irregular. Living with it is a pain, too because you can't do things like go to the beach or wear a low cut top without feeling super self conscious. Fortunately, mine is almost all under control now with the exception of a minor breakout here and there, but it's still annoying. I've learned a lot from my years of acne and I'd like to share what worked for me. I'm also looking for more tips if possible. Hormones are a big factor. Teenagers are more prone to body acne for a reason, and growing up probably was a big factor to my back and chest acne. I'm 21 now and it's not so bad. This isn't the greatest thing to hear but it's the honest truth. An equally big factor is hygiene. Yes, you may think everyone has good hygiene but not always. Here are some great tips that helped me a lot: If you have long hair, wash it more often or wear it up when you sweat more like in the summer. Hair products can build up and get transferred onto your back, causing breakouts. Honestly I only wash my hair every couple of days because I have oily hair, but being more conscious about it being on my back has helped a lot. And dear god please shower daily... this is self-explanatory. While showering, wash your hair away from your back. I used to wash out conditioner (harder to wash out than shampoo) while my hair was down on my back, so conditioner would get all over my skin. Even though you're clean from the shower, the residue is still there and clogs your pores. What I do now is tilt my head sideways so that conditioner doesn't wash past my hairline. Some people like to wash their hair upside down, too, but I find that that makes conditioner leak on my face, which is just as annoying. Change your bedsheets!! My lazy teenage self would never change the bedsheets every week. Your natural oils and dead skin and all of that stuff gets into fabric, and every time you crawl into bed you're essentially rolling around in your own filth. This is especially necessary if you've got oily skin like myself. Change your pillowcase even more often. You could also be allergic or reacting to your laundry detergent. Try out a different formula and see if that improves your skin. This latter part never affected me really, but I hear it does help a lot of people. Use products that combat body acne. I literally survive on the Murad Body Acne Spray (or whatever it's called) which is the most helpful body acne product I've ever used. It has a 360 degree nozzle so you can spray upside down on your back! It's based with salicylic acid to fight breakouts and helped my skin after just 2 days. I avoid using it during the day though because it has a strong scent and a minty feeling that can linger. I use it at night to keep breakouts at bay. When I forget, my chest acne gets worse. I also love the Neutrogena body scrub. The one below and the pink grapefruit one are great (the one depicted is better but not available in Canada ) because there are exfoliating beads, which lead to my next point. Exfoliate your body. Use a loofa or a 2-sided puff in the shower so that you're getting rid of dead skin to let new cells help your skin. When your pores are clogged, bacteria causes breakouts and it's harder to wash your back than it is your face. The best drugstore one I hear is the Neutrogena exfoliating one (not the generic yellow or the pink grapefruit.. I can't remember because it's not available in Canada). Use a heavier body scrub a couple of times a week to really slough away dead skin. You'll see the difference immediately. Wear clothes made from better material, like cotton and silk. This isn't always doable but it's very helpful for your PJs. You sleep for quite a few hours, and no one is really going to see you while you sleep. Find a good set of cotton or silk PJs which are more comfortable anyway. These materials help your skin breathe which will prevent breakouts from being irritated more. Drink plenty of water. This is essential for not just acne but skincare in general. It's the easiest thing to do and has the best effects. Also improve your diet. I'm not saying you should become a vegan, but lower your intake of sugary and unhealthy foods. Have some fruit once in a while, and eat some green leafy stuff. You can make whatever the heck argument you want about "no studies link chocolate or fries to acne" but what you put in your body shows on your body. Trust me, improving your interior health is the best way to combat skin problems and be healthier overall. See a dermatologist. And I don't mean some lowkey dermatologist who doesn't listen to you. Do research in your area and see a good derm who will help you. I didn't do this when I was younger and I regret it so much. I visited one derm and she talked to me for 10 mins about a product line she was selling and she left the room. Everyone's body is different, and a doctor could pinpoint your problems much better than yourself. You could be suffering from a Vitamin deficiency or have another issue you're not aware of. I hope that this thread helps you fight body acne. Feel free to reply with your experiences, questions, and advice. But remember: don't care about what other people think!! I used to be so self conscious of my body acne I would avoid swimming and wearing nice dresses. Now even with break outs I don't give a flying fudge! Make memories and be with loved ones. Years later when you're reflecting on your memories, you'll regret not doing the things you love.
