Best acne kit?
I have never posted here before, but I am DESPERATE! I have tried so many different products for acne. I'm 18 years old, and have dealt with breakouts nonstop since I was in middle school. Of course there were times where it wasn't AS bad, but bad enough. My main problem areas tend to be on my cheeks and my chin, however lately my forehead has been very broken out (didn't really used to be an issue before). I try to keep my hair off of my face, and it is my whole forehead, so I don't think that that is my problem. I have tried everything - drugstore products, proactiv, murad, etc. and even went to the dermatologist when I was younger. He had me try different mixes of drugstore cleansers and prescription gels etc. My mom says that I was on an antibiotic for a period of time as well, however I don't remember this. After spending long enough there, (I was still fairly young - probably in middle school, so I wasn't quite as diligent with my skincare routine), I gave up on the dermatologist because I didn't feel that I was getting any better results. I struggled with it all throughout high school. The last two 'sets' I used were Mary Kay and Clinique. Mary Kay seemed to work for a while, but it seemed that my skin got used to it after a while. As for clinique, it was too harsh for my skin.    I have pretty oily skin, as well as a bit of redness and hyper-pigmentation. I'm ready to try something new, and hoping that all goes well. Even though I tried it before, I have thought about trying Murad again. I have seen some really good reviews, but there was also some people that absolutely hate it. I don't want to become one of those who use it for the full month and look a whole lot worse. I have also considered the Philosophy acne kit, the Peter Thomas Roth kit, and the Formula 10.0.6 kit. I have researched all three of these, and they all have mainly good feedback.    Has anyone used these, and can say what they like? Or is there something else out there that I should look into?   Right now, I'm using Cetaphil foaming oil control wash for acne prone skin, a rotation of St. Ives apricot scrub and green tea scrub, a witch hazel toner, neutrogena naturals acne spot treatment, and a sephora moisturizer.  I did use the Korres toner for a period of time, and really liked it - however the ingredients were comparable to the witch hazel toner I am using now.

How long should you steam your face?
I just started doing at-home steaming after I heard a lot of great things about it-- put my face over a hot pot of water with a towel over my head. That is as far as I know.    SO, how long do I have to do this for to have an effect? At least 5 mins? 10 mins? No more than 15? No less than 5?   Are there also any specific things I should/must do so that I actually get a result?   My skin is acne prone and I am south asian with fair skin tone.

Clarisonic Question
Hi everyone! I saved all my pennies and splurged on the Clarisonic acne system! I took to using the Murad cleanser since I read a lot of people in the review section said they had great success with that. I used it for the first time tonight, and my skin has broken out more than the level it was at earlier today. I read that the skin goes through a "purge" period, just wondering if anyone using the Clarisonic can tell me if this is a typical response?   Thanks!

Which one should I get? HELP!
So I am kind of on a budget and I'm looking at some acne kits on Sephora. There are two that I am going back and forth on. I just cant get myself to choose one. I am leaning more with the Philosophy. But then again, a lot of people recommend Murad. Philosophy's kit include salicylic acid. As for Murad's, it includes that AND sulfur. Does sulfur help get rid of acne more?   I dont have crazy crazy acne all over my face. It's more like cystic and they're small.   http://www.sephora.com/acne-complex-30-day-kit-P37 5135?skuId=1440841   http://www.sephora.com/clear-days-ahead-30-day-acn e-trial-kit-P312005?skuId=1417237

Bismuth Oxychloride causing cystic acne?!
I need help!  I only use a small amount of concealer along with face powder on my tiny acne scars daily (and on the occasional pimple during that time of the month) I do not use foundation and I tend to have clear skin...however after using Laura Mercier Mineral powder for 6 months (after a staff recommendation and I thought it was the best ever so I used it religiously) I developed a HUGE cyst on my face by my mouth which my dr said was cystic acne.  I have NEVER had this before and after research I believe it is from Bismuth Oxychloride...the powder is the only new product I've used and only mineral product i've ever used...could I be overly sensitive to this??  I don't think its from anything else but i'm not 100% sure...I'm open to any ideas and any products that could possibly help my skin and not cause these horrific breakouts...i've had"the cyst" on my face for about 2 months with no sign of leaving anytime soon   Also my husband and I are in the process of getting pregnant so medication is not an option...   Thank you for letting me vent!!

Will Boscia Clear Complexion products really work for me?

safe blush to use for non inflammed acne prone skin
Hi, I have struggled with severe non inflammed acne (aka clogged pores) for several years. This is the type of acne that stays there for months to years and is buried deep in the skin and is typically caused by cosmetics. It makes my skin look bumpy and uneven. I suffered inflammed acne when I was younger but as an adult, I have mainly stuggeled with non inflammed acne (clogged pores). I have recently gone through facials (including chemical peels), changed my diet, stopped using most of my cosmetics (i've been staying indoors since I'm currently peeling from a TCA peel). I believe my skin is looking better especially after laying off all the cosmetics. I recently purchased Boscia's BB cream (as recommended by my esthetician) but have not used it yet.  I'm trying to find a good blush to replace my NARS blush (which I absolutely loved, except I believe was a strong contributing factor to my intensely clogged pores since in my cheeks is where most of them are concentrated. My question is, what blush is recommended that has no parabens, fragrance, has no oil (i have very oily skin), and will not clog my pores (has "safe" ingredients that don't clog pores)?

Can baby oil cause break outs/acne?
I was searching around online and I read somewhere that baby oil can cause break outs and clog pores since theres mineral oil in it. Which now I think I know why I've been getting all this acne for the past month to month and a half!! I started to use baby oil as a makeup remover around that time and since then I've been getting all my acne back. I used baby oil on monday to remove all my makeup and today I have break outs all over my cheeks and forehead.   I do have very sensitive skin, so maybe this is the reason I'm breaking out?

Time to switch Clarisonic heads?
I bought the Clarisonic Mia during Chic week, and now it's about time to buy a new brush head, and I'm not sure which kind I should get. I have been using the sensitive head that it came with, which definitely didn't exacerbate my sensitive skin ( gets really red with any exfoliation, and some products/fragrances cause breakouts). But overall I'd have to say that my skin isn't all that different. It has helped with the dry patches on my cheeks, but not my large pores on my nose or occasional horomonal breakouts on my chin area. Should I try a different brush head? Currently I just ise it at night because I didn't want to aggravate my skin but should I try using it twice a day? What are you experiences/ what worked for you? Thanks! Acne/breakouts HELP!
Just about two months ago I have been breaking out like crazy. I think I have cyst acne.. But it goes and comes as it pleases! I stopped using any new products. I eat decently healthy, workout 4 times a week, wash my pillow cases weekly, wash my face everyday, use my foundation brushes only once and have to wash it after. Yet I somehow still get breakouts every week. Another thing is I dont wear makeup as often as I did last year. I went from wearing it literally EVERYDAY and now I wear it maximum 2 times a week.   I just dont know what to do anymore. I use the clean and clear advantage acne spot treatment and it works great. But once they're gone, they find their way back! Some of them are small and some are SUPER red but the weird thing is they dont hurt at all.   Are there any products you recommend? I can't go to the derm. anytime soon because I don't have the money for that right now.

Desperate
Hey all. I have been dealing with acne for a long time. I've seen a derm before but last time I saw one they wanted me to do a daily antibiotic and that's not really an option for me. I would go see one now but it takes about 5 months to get in to see one in our area. I have been struggling lately with my acne. It ranges from cystic acne (main problem) to white heads to black heads and usually occurs on my chin. I know some of it is probably stress because I recently started going back to school. Last summer I switched to Neutogena's Natural collection and was having no problems then all the sudden it was cyst city. The only change I can remember around this time was I tried a BB cream instead of my foundation.   I switched back to my foundation and have been using Dermadoctor's Ain't Misbehavin' face wash and Origin's Active Charcoal Face Mask every few days. On my breakouts, I have been using Clinique's Acne Solutions Emergency Gel-Lotion Intensif Benzoyl Peroxide acne medication. It doesn't seem to be helping and may even be making things worse. I don't use a toner because I was told by my derm once that it can actually close pores and causes cysts. I also don't really use a moisturizer because I'm too worried something will break me out.   I'm kind of on my last line. It is starting to spread to my forehead and even some small spots on my cheeks. I'm just so frustrated. What do you guys recommend? I'm considering trying a sulfur spot treatment instead but am still looking for a moisturizer that will help keep things calm.

Is this my acne solution regimen??
Well, every so often I try something new for my acne and I always go up to my husband a week or so after starting it and say "my skin looks better, doesn't it?!" and it turns out to be a fluke and my breakouts continue.  However, I am hoping that I have finally found the perfect balance this time and that I may have discovered my skin solution regimen!   I have tried a lot in the last 8 years since beginning my 20s with major cystic acne problems.  Dermatologist (Doryx, clindamycin), Clinique Acne Solutions foundation and 3 step system, Proactive, the natural route, Clarisonic, etc.   Here is what I do now: AM -wash face with honey.  Yep, that's it, honey. -MURAD Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30 (-my makeup routine includes Smashbox primer, Dior or Revlon foundation, concealer, NARS loose powder, I haven't changed this)   PM -wash face with Origins Frothy Face Wash -Origins A Perfect World toner -Clarisonic 2x a week -MURAD Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask 1x a week -PeterThomasRoth DeSpot on chin and cheeks -Josie Maran Argan Oil with tea tree oil added all over face   I'm hoping this continues!!  I have small whiteheads occasionally but no huge painful cysts, and those are the ones that scar and ruin my face for at least 8 months.   Good luck to everyone else searching for their solution.

Climate change effecting acne...
So I've had fairly bad problems with acne for almost 8 years now. I've gone through multiple different skincare regimens and prescriptions...none of which have made an impact. A year ago I moved from Oregon to Ohio to attend college and noticed that with the humidity my skin got a lot clearer. I still had breakouts but they were mostly related to my monthly "gift". Whenever I come home to Oregon whether it be for Winter, Spring, or Summer break though, my skin instantly gets awful. I have tons of breakouts and experience dryness on a constant basis.  I'm currently using the prescriptions doxycycline (oral), tazorac (topical), and acanya (topical). I've also been using the Korres Milk Proteins Foaming Face Cleanser as well as Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer for Oily/Combination skin on a daily basis. (I would say I have sensitive, combination skin)   If anyone has any suggestions on how to better work with my skin in the climate change or anything please share! I'm so tired of dealing with the acne and scarring that comes with it. =(

Acne/Blemish Cream

Weird Topic, but can someone give me a skincare routine and products to use
This is long, sorry I am really tired of having skin problems, I want to be able to leave the house without having to put concealer and foundation. I had normal skin in high school except breakouts on forehead when it was that time of month. However, once I entered college I started breaking out all over. And my mom said same thing happened to her and didnt clear up fully til she was 26. I am only 20 years old so I can't wait that long. If its not that time of month or not close to it, I just wear nars radiant concealer over blemishes and powder because it can be covered. However it does not look amazing, but heavy coverage foundations day by day breaks me out. So I stay away. I went to a dermatologist a year ago and he put me on medicine that made it worse with no results and then wanted me to go on accutane but my skin is not that bad and my mom is against because of the side effects. Right now I just use first aid beauty cleanser and derma e no more redness cleanser. And moisturizer. My blemishes are red and small and mainly on the cheeks. However, during my period it is all over my face but multiplied by 5x and no way covering it. So if anyone can give me a skincare routine recommendations with products to use (sensitive/dry skin) and possibly makeup.
