Moisturize r help!
Hi there!
Okay, so my derm has me on what feels like 8 million things for acne. I had posted a few weeks ago concerning my skincare routine and the order in which I should apply things, and after consulting with my derm again I have a solid routine down. My routine consists of:
AM:
Washing with salycilic acid cleanser (Neutrogena)
Swipe Ery 2% pads over face (prescription)
Apply Erythromiacin/Benzoyl Peroxide topical ointment (prescription)
Oral Doxycycline pills (prescription)
PM:
Washing with Benzyol Peroxide (I know this is drying, but it REALLY helps with my acne)
Swipe Ery 2% pads over face (prescription)
Apply Ziana topical gel (prescription)
Oral Doxycycline pills (presecritpion)
...seem like a lot to you? I know, that's how I feel! And to make matters worse...all of this stuff is SUPER drying to my face (dry flaky patches). And my derm suggested I DO NOT use a moisturizer, which is the first time in my life I've ever NOT put moisturizer on. Anyway...I'm wondering what I can do to help with the dryness? It doesn't just look bad...it HURTS! I asked my derm about moisturizers, and she said if I had to, I could use a simple oil-free moisturizer. But it seems like everything (including gentle ones like Purpose, Cetaphil, and CeraVe) cause me to break out, leave my skin oily, and doesn't help with the dryness.
Soo givin my background, can anyone suggest a good moisturizer/addition/subtraction to my skincare routine? I want to use everything as effectively as I can to get rid of this stubborn acne once and for all without making matters worse. Please and thank you!

I'm sure that your derm has prescribed exactly what they know will work. Clearing up your skin is a process that has to be done in steps nothing is going to cure it overnight. Follow what you derm told you and as times passes and your skin gets better you won't have to use so many products. Just a maintence program that will include less products. Just hang in there you'll make it.
