Clinque Acne System a Go, but what next?

(0) Hearts

I bought the Clinique Acne skincare kit and I loved it! it worked wonders for me. From the cleanser to the toner and moisturizer (though I could point out a few flaws about the latter). Anyways, I loved it and I'm ordering the full sized cleanser and toner. Now my question is, should I proceed with the same acne moisturizer? I understand that with them being from the same skincare line its better to because the ingredients coordinate with each other. With the summer weather quickly approaching (14 degrees [58 degrees] last week and todays temperature soaring to 30/40 degrees with humidity [90/110 degrees]) I'm in dire need of a lotion with an spf and I was considering a Clinique one (just to stay in the same brand). Also, any thoughts on using an spf lotion over the Clinique acne moisturizer? I do have fair, acne prone skin (although the system has it under control for the time being) and is usually combination oily but can get excessively oily in the humidity. Any suggestions or advice? As I mentioned I'm buying the full sized products (when I'm done posting this, actually) and I'm going to hold off on the moisturizer until I've got some advice on it and will continue to use Aveeno's Sunblock Lotion in spf 30. Much appreciated folks :smileyhappy:

I have to agree with acne solutions line! I have seen amazing results in the last month. I only use it at night though since I have sensitive skin and am prone to redness. I use all 3 at night and wake up to great skin but am currently looking for something during the day. I have been using the Clarins foaming face wash, toner and their early wrinkle correction cream. The face wash is great foamy, nondrying and I barely use any! Toner is moisturizing so I think I will really benefit from in the winter when its not so humid but the cream is very lightweight soaks in quickly and I really like the way it feels. I am also going to try the Dior Hydralife line (sorbet or fluid) as their discontinued HydrAction sorbet cream was my holy grail moisturizer for years.

I've been using the Clinique Acne Solutions for some time now and it has worked wonders on my skin.  Noted, it can be a bit drying so, like you, I only use my system at night (I have dry-combination skin).  I do use the entire acne solutions line and it causes no problems for me aside for the slight dryness.  During the day, I use the regular 3 step skin care system for my skin type (2-Dry Combination) with the dramatically different moisturizing lotion.  It's my miracle routine, paired with the appropriate spot treatments for those pop-up breakouts!  Works great for me!  Soft skin, smaller pores, and hardly any breakouts whatsoever! :smileyhappy:

I've never used the Clinique Acne System, but what do you not like about the moisturizer? Is your skin still oily? Or is your skin still dry? If you're thinking of buying the full size products anyway, why not try Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion or Gel. I know a lot of people who have acne prefer the gel version, but it really depends on your skin type even if you are acne-prone. If Aveeno works for you, stick with it even if someone suggests you a pricier brand. While I use more expensive acne products, I still stick with my Neutrogena SPF for the long run. Always trust your instincts! Good luck!

I normally don't recommend using an entire line of acne products because it's just too harsh, literally every product you put on our skin has those chemicals. And eventually your skin will go to the dry out and over produce oils cycle. Have you ever tried Boscia? they have a "acne line" as well but made from natural willow bark tree instead of salicylic acid as its a artificial/chemical ingredient. As for SPF moisturizer? I recommend always using a separate SPF product over a moisturizer. I do not suggest moisturizers containing SPF because 1.they're usually low spf 2.has spf odor 3.usually sticky/shin on face 4.decrease effectiveness of ingredients in moisturizer. I suggest Amore pacific Natural protector SPF 30, Isa Knox 365  spf45, Kate Somerville Serum sunscreen SPF55, Clinique Derma White Super City block spf40.
