They are now available for purchase for rouge members. I didn't know they would come up with 2 different palettes and it took me completely by surprise. my wallet was not prepared for this! I am so weak to my Vices. If you could get only one vice palette this year, which one would you choose?
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
I thought this would be an interesting challenge as well as difficult, but also help you discover creative ways and/or using up something you feel guilty of buying but never using. I'm a bit of an impulse buyer when it comes to eyeshadows. I have several palettes but I usuall end up just using the same one or switch it up with another commonly used in my collection and I thought that should stop. Recently I've been good about rotating palettes but it still doesn't get much use that makes me happy I bought it. At first I thought "a month should do it" but I know not even I would be able to keep that promise. The challenge is this. To pick a product that you haven't really got much use out of, and use it for an entire week. So an example would be "I haven't used much of the Kat von D sinner palette so I'll use it for a week now." Here's a loophole to this. You pick your item but you can still use other shadows from other things, the point is that the item you've picked has to be in your daily look. It doesn't have to be palettes or singles only as long as you pick the item and stick to it for a whole week. That way we won't feel so guilty about not using it so much. The item that I will be picking will be the Kat von D Monarch palette. I use it every once in a while but I haven't for 7 consecutive days. So starting this Sunday, that palette will be part of my every day routine until Saturday. Summary: It doesn't have to be a palette, it can be a single eyeshadow. It doesn't have to be eye shadow, it can be a lippie, blush, or mascara. *edited to add foundation to the list* Yes, you can mix it with other products but this will be the item you won't leave behind in your daily routine for the 7 consecutive days. You don't have to post a picture of yourself if you don't want to, but if you want to take a picture of your item of choice, you can, and if you want. All you have to say to yourself is I can commit, I can accept, and I succeeded!
This hasn't been started yet so I'll give it a go. Today is the last day that SiJCP has an extra 25% off clearance so I stopped in to poke around before I start up the smoker for tonight. I grabbed all these goodies for $30.
Ok, so I have seen people comment in various threads about items they would like to see coming out for the Holidays. That gave me an idea, and after trying a couple of searches and coming up with nothing, I decided to pose these questions to everyone on Beauty Talk: If you could create your own Sephora Favorites set, what would it be? Or, if you were asked to create the next amazing palette, what brand(s) would you use and what would be in it? These are just starting points, but lets all get creative! If it were up to us, the consumers, what awesome things could be created to get everyone excited? I will start things off! If I could create a palette for Hourglass, it would be a large palette (but not TOO large) that has all of the Ambient powders and all of the Ambient blushes. They would be smaller in size, but a great way to try them all and play around! Or could make 2, each with all the Ambient powders then add blushes for warm skin tones in one palette with blushes for cool skin tones in the other. What are your ideas?
I'm going to lose my mind the more and more I read, hear and learn about bronzer! I just bought Chanel Les Beiges and am NOT looking to use it for contouring, but rather to give a little bit of warmth to my light, neutral-if-not-ever-so-slightly-cool undertoned face. I got it in shade 30, which is very similar to my natural skin color, but warmer and a couple very minor shades darker. It doesn't help that I tend to get pink/burn in the sun, so that is the color that I'm accustomed to seeing on the top of my nose, temples, etc. that I am now hoping to replace with bronzer. The last piece of advice I received from an SA I trust at Sephora said to go out into the sun, and wherever you feel the sun hit your face would be where bronzer should be applied. But that also seems like where I already apply blush and/or highlighter. Which has led me to create this thread, trying to figure out how to use them together. Would love some insight or direction to a good diagram on how to use blush/bronzer (not as a contour)/highlighter together. Because what the SA said makes total sense to me, but there isn't enough room on my face for everything!
Recently I received a PM from Sephora thanking me for my participation on BT and offering to send me a free full sized gift. Today I received a full size NUDE Brightening Fizzy Powder Wash. http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?k eyword=nude%20brightening%20fizzy&skuId=1629286&pr ... The back says: This effervescent powder wash brightens skin for a glowing complexion with multiple sources of Vitamin C. Powerful enzymes work together with all-natural rose hip and vanilla seeds for skin-clearing exfoliation, eliminating dull skin and impurities. With omega-rich acai berry, Inca gold and virgin coconut oils, this treatment exfoliator smooths and softens while refining skin. Super pumped to try it tonight!
Does anyone else struggle with using only "a pea size" amount of serums, moisturizers, retinol, etc? Whenever I try to use this elusive amount it never feels like it's enough to cover one cheek let alone my entire face! Maybe my face is just larger than average lol?
I've tried different primers and no primers, different foundations, different white foundation MIXERS to lighten all my different foundations. I've increased my moisturizing, tried different methods of exfoliating my face, using sponges, Beauty Blenders, foundation brushes, stippling brushes, and even gotten rid of all the peach fuzz on my face. Nothing helps. I always end up with these patchy clumpy pieces of foundation all over my face, even in areas that aren't usually dry on me. My nose looks like a mottled flaky mess and in short my foundation just looks disgusting. I'm not slopping it on my face either like the "friendly" girls on another forum kindly suggested I was. I put maybe a pea sized amount on each cheek, my chin, and my forehead and this still happens. NARS Sheer Glow caked, Illmasqua Skin Base caked like mad, Laura Mercier's Silk Creme is caked on my face as we speak, Kat Von D caked (of course), Loreal's Lumi cakes. The only base makeup I have ever been able to use without it doing this is Missha's Signature Perfect BB cream in #13, but I cannot build up the coverage at all without it getting cakey in spots. I don't understand what's wrong with my face or what I'm doing so wrong. Sephora associates don't know what's what to suggest (I just get more moisturizers tossed at me). My face feels and looks flawless and soft without makeup, but the second foundation comes into contact with it everything goes to the dogs and I just don't get it. If anyone has a suggesting as to what is happening and how I can prevent it I'd love to hear some input.
My love for Sephora continues. I was sent a comped, brand new, full sized Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel (launching 08-26-14) to review. I will use it for the first time tonight, so check back to this post if the product interests you.
--closed-- Box of awesome high end items and unicorns, show me yours and I'll show you mine, lol. While I’m not “ancient”, I’ve been on BeautyTalk WAY longer than I ever expected and have made some very good friends….as well as been enabled into getting WAY more makeup, lol. It is getting a bit overwhelming and as much as I like pretty things, my style is more minimalist, so I don’t reaaally need 6 or 7 jars of Guerlain meteorites etc. To help revamp/reorganize my stash as well as having some fun with the awesome friends I’ve made, I’m doing the LUV TB. It contains lots of makeup that I love but never use, altho I couldn’t bear to part with any perfumes or majority of the skincare, so you ladies will have to make up for it along the way. Keep it classy, with high end and preferably new or lightly used things. No drugstores. Since it’s got tons of expensive items, I asked people I trust who are interested, so the box is closed. If it goes well, I may do another one next year when I've accumulated enough treasures. =P Expand below to see the rules, taken from the awesome roxystar4 and slightly simplified: Spoiler (Highlight to read) * Please make sure every item is in a plastic ziplock bag to prevent spills. I know this post is similar to many others…but a lot of them are updates on new items (which is great and how I'm finding out about new things!!). But I'm curious, as I try to sort out what I most want, what items are really "must haves" (or most want) as opposed to just being special for the holidays. All feedback welcome!!!
I didn't start using foundation until the beginning of this year, so I don't know much about foundation outside of the basics. I am in love with Urban Decay's Naked liquid foundation, but my problem is that the shade I got matched to works great for my face, but then when you look at me as a whole, my face is lighter then the rest of my body! I returned the color I previously bought and the woman who was helping me out said if we went any darker in the UD line, that it would be too dark. So instead, we found a match in MAKE UP FOREVER that works, but I really prefer the UD foundation. How would one go about trying to mix shades to get their perfect shade? Is it just better to stick with the already made shades? Just need any advice on this!
Hi all!!! I want a daytime moisturizer that is gentle on my skin but that will improve it over time (not just coat it with silicones) and even my skin tone / decrease pore size / smooth the skin (and also will prep for makeup!). I have oily skin with large pores and it does get sensitive at times. This is my current routine: Cleanser: either Algenist Gentle Cleanser or Philosophy Purity Gel Cleanser Toner: day=Michael Todd Organics Antibacterial Algae Moisturizing Toner night= Michael Todd Organics AHA/BHA exfoliating toner I CANNOT stand any moisturizer with sparkle too it... I wanted to love the Algenist Pore Refining Gel Moisturizer but there are freaking mica sparkles in it and they accentuate my pores ARGHH! Please help!!!! Also -- Is it OK to use moisturizers that contain oils on oily skin? Will they clog my pores? Sometimes I use Korres Rose Sleeping Facial at night and I feel like my skin drinks it uppppp but it's too heavy for a daytime moisturizer... Any suggestions would be a huge help xoxo.
No matter how I do my makeup, I always look sick and/or tired, when actually, I'm wide awake and feel great. Could someone recommend some Eye, Cheek, Lippies that would help me out? I use #25 in MUFE's Mat Velvet foundation to give you a reference to my skin tone, I've got green eyes with light brown hair. I just can't seem to nail down a pretty & simple every day look for work. Thanks!
Ok so I recently bought Bare Minerals original foundation...I figured it would be an easy foundation for days I don't feel like doing much. I put on a primer, liquid illuminator and a little bit of cream concealer then went to apply the foundation with the tarte airbrush finish brush (recommended by TiffanyD to use with this foundation) and it looked terrible! It went on patchy and clinged to dry spots that didn't exist before I put it on. I do have dry skin, but have learned to moisturize well before applying foundation. I feel like I made a crucial mistake somewhere along during the application because I know this is a very loved foundation by many people. Anyone have any ideas?
I am very very simple when it comes to putting on makeup, and I am attending an outdoor wedding on October 4th at Ahmanson Ranch, which I guess is really really nice. I was wondering if there were any tips you could give me to just do a simple, but fresh and pretty look for an outdoor, country themed wedding... I am wearing a royal blue dress, beige heels, I have blue/green eyes, tan skin, and dirty blonde hair.
Have you guys seen these?! There are tons of shades and finishes to choose from, and you can build your own palette! I can't wait to try these; I wonder if Sephora will carry all of the shades? There are so many and I'd really like to go in and test a good chunk of them. http://www.sephora.com/artist-shadow-P387670?skuId =1622745
Today I came home and was super excited to have 8 Sephora boxes to open up even though most were gifts for my family and friends. I had purchased a few of the Ocos Locos 2, Feminine Palettes, Philosophy make up removers , etc from the recent sale First of all, I noticed that instead of receiving the Sephora gift bag like I requested, all 8 orders were in big gift boxes. Then, after opening all of my packages, I was missing 10 samples in total. All of the ones that I was supposed to get the Kate Sommerville exfloiant were missing. I know that they are allowed to substitute samples, which they did for some, but I was still missing 10 ! To make matters worse, I was missing 2 of the Clinique Smart serums that I was supposed to get for using the SMART promo code. I'm not impressed at all with the warehouse! Can someone please tell me what is going on with the warehouses?
Zadidoll just posted this find from Urban Decay's website and I have to say I'm smitten. $39 and not yet for sale on their website, but I'm sure it will be available soon. Assuming it will also be available on Sephora at some point? The set contains six deluxe minis with three new shades, Ladyflower (bright rose-pink), Crush and Illicit (sheer baby pink) and three bestsellers Gash, Liar and F-Bomb. Also included is a full-size 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Ozone. What do you think?
I am 23 years old, I have kind combination skin, oily/dry/blackheads. I need to start a skin regiment, I'm just not sure what steps to take or what products to use, I've used some origins and some Clinique and also all natural organic things. My main issue is the blackheads
Sephora just teamed up with the best brush cleaner in the world Parian Spirit and there doesn't seem to be any reference to it on their website, like "new products." Not sure why they are trying to keep it a secret. It's called simply: Sephora "Citrush Brush Cleaner" by Parian Spirit. Same natural formulation with no preservatives. Cleans, conditions and disinfects your brushes. You just need a little bit and then dry it off completely with a terry cloth or paper towel. No water needed. Cleans all types of makeup, foundations, even latex, acrylic and glues for eyelashes. The ultimate professional grade product for your home use.
I keep going back and forth between buying another UD palette (like Vice 3) or trying Too Faced Pretty Rebel or Boudoir Eyes. I have a UD palette but no TF yet. Not sure - which brand do you prefer for eyeshadows?
