Ok, so I have seen people comment in various threads about items they would like to see coming out for the Holidays. That gave me an idea, and after trying a couple of searches and coming up with nothing, I decided to pose these questions to everyone on Beauty Talk: If you could create your own Sephora Favorites set, what would it be? Or, if you were asked to create the next amazing palette, what brand(s) would you use and what would be in it? These are just starting points, but lets all get creative! If it were up to us, the consumers, what awesome things could be created to get everyone excited? I will start things off! If I could create a palette for Hourglass, it would be a large palette (but not TOO large) that has all of the Ambient powders and all of the Ambient blushes. They would be smaller in size, but a great way to try them all and play around! Or could make 2, each with all the Ambient powders then add blushes for warm skin tones in one palette with blushes for cool skin tones in the other. What are your ideas?
What are your thoughts on this set? I just ordered it but am a bit fearful that they will not be up to par with the quality of the sephora pro brushes which are fantastic! I can't stand when brushes shed so I am hoping this are okay but have any of you tried this set ? http://www.sephora.com/dual-action-brush-set-P3777 72?skuId=1492750
I don't know if I should really categorize this as a "confession" but I used to procrastinate by spending every "free" minute I had on this hur website! If any of you guys remember me...hi there! I keep trying to come back and post more often, but real life gets in the way. Stupid double major, haha. Just wanted to pop in and say I miss you guys, and BT, even though I stand firm in my opinion that it's gone way downhill since this time last year. With the Hourglass Blush Palette release live for VIB Rouges, I thought it was time for a lil renaissance. I wish I had some fun look to post or something!
Does anyone else struggle with using only "a pea size" amount of serums, moisturizers, retinol, etc? Whenever I try to use this elusive amount it never feels like it's enough to cover one cheek let alone my entire face! Maybe my face is just larger than average lol?
I was looking on the Ulta website and saw a new BECCA pressed powder shimmering skin perfector in champagne gold. I wondered if anyone has seen swatches of this. I already have Moonstone, Opal and Rose Gold so the question is do I need it?? LOL...of course. But I was really wondering how different it is from Moonstone. I'm not sure how to link a picture but you can find it on Ulta or the BECCA website. It says it's limited edition (ha ha, so was rose gold) and it has the same stamping on it as the holiday rose gold had on it.
I've been on the Ipsy waiting list, but still look at the thread. I thought we could have a shared thread from all the subscription boxes (including non-beauty ones likes underpants and lifestyle such as Wantable and POPSugar). That way we can live vicariously through each others goodies! (I know there are unboxing videos on YouTube, but I do not have the patience to sit through a five minute video about someone apologizing for the state of their hair. And I know there are blogs where I can see photos, but everyone usually gets different items in their boxes)
I have a pretty comfy makeup station and I do love me my products and I pretty much use everything from soup (primer) to nuts (setting spray). But I've noticed that instead of getting faster, I'm just getting slower and sloooower in my makeup application. I really enjoy the process of putting my makeup on - it's probably my favorite part of the day. But I feel like it's taking me a ridiculously long time to do my fairly simple everyday look (I don't vary how I do my makeup TOO much from day-to-day). So I used the timer on my phone for the past three days: 42, 50, and 52 minutes! Yikes! You ladies have seen my makeup. Nothing on my face should take 52 minutes! I know I take a long time doing my eyebrows - they're always a trouble spot for me. I'm going to TRY and speed myself up over the next few days so I can at least have more time to walk my dog in the mornings before work. So I'm curious...how long does it take YOU to do your makeup?
This hasn't been started yet so I'll give it a go. Today is the last day that SiJCP has an extra 25% off clearance so I stopped in to poke around before I start up the smoker for tonight. I grabbed all these goodies for $30.
I'm going to lose my mind the more and more I read, hear and learn about bronzer! I just bought Chanel Les Beiges and am NOT looking to use it for contouring, but rather to give a little bit of warmth to my light, neutral-if-not-ever-so-slightly-cool undertoned face. I got it in shade 30, which is very similar to my natural skin color, but warmer and a couple very minor shades darker. It doesn't help that I tend to get pink/burn in the sun, so that is the color that I'm accustomed to seeing on the top of my nose, temples, etc. that I am now hoping to replace with bronzer. The last piece of advice I received from an SA I trust at Sephora said to go out into the sun, and wherever you feel the sun hit your face would be where bronzer should be applied. But that also seems like where I already apply blush and/or highlighter. Which has led me to create this thread, trying to figure out how to use them together. Would love some insight or direction to a good diagram on how to use blush/bronzer (not as a contour)/highlighter together. Because what the SA said makes total sense to me, but there isn't enough room on my face for everything!
Have any of the beautiful ladies here on BT tried using drugstore cosmetics after solely using mid to high end stuff? I have never really dabbled in drugstore and keep saying I will but then never follow through. I have a mind to walkinto a drugstore and buy a bunch of goodies they have to offer and play around in drugstore for a week or two. I'm wondering what I'm missing or what I'm not missing. Is there anyone who could help me choose some items they like or who would like to post solely drugstore looks and review their experiences with them? I think it would be fun
I thought this would be an interesting challenge as well as difficult, but also help you discover creative ways and/or using up something you feel guilty of buying but never using. I'm a bit of an impulse buyer when it comes to eyeshadows. I have several palettes but I usuall end up just using the same one or switch it up with another commonly used in my collection and I thought that should stop. Recently I've been good about rotating palettes but it still doesn't get much use that makes me happy I bought it. At first I thought "a month should do it" but I know not even I would be able to keep that promise. The challenge is this. To pick a product that you haven't really got much use out of, and use it for an entire week. So an example would be "I haven't used much of the Kat von D sinner palette so I'll use it for a week now." Here's a loophole to this. You pick your item but you can still use other shadows from other things, the point is that the item you've picked has to be in your daily look. It doesn't have to be palettes or singles only as long as you pick the item and stick to it for a whole week. That way we won't feel so guilty about not using it so much. The item that I will be picking will be the Kat von D Monarch palette. I use it every once in a while but I haven't for 7 consecutive days. So starting this Sunday, that palette will be part of my every day routine until Saturday. Summary: It doesn't have to be a palette, it can be a single eyeshadow. It doesn't have to be eye shadow, it can be a lippie, blush, or mascara. *edited to add foundation to the list* Yes, you can mix it with other products but this will be the item you won't leave behind in your daily routine for the 7 consecutive days. You don't have to post a picture of yourself if you don't want to, but if you want to take a picture of your item of choice, you can, and if you want. All you have to say to yourself is I can commit, I can accept, and I succeeded!
I know you can add Beauty Insider points to your account after a purchase, but I'm wondering if there is a timeline for this? I just found receipts from Christmas presents my mom bought me in 2012 and would like to add the points to my account, if possible!!
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Hey Beauties! Looking for a facial exfoliating wash gentle enough for acne and combination skin---how's the Glamglow exfoliating treatment? I've heard good things about the Boscia exfoliating cleanser, but that dries out my skin, since I have combination and not oily---any suggestions?
Hi, I just wanted a professional opinion on how to get the most benefits out of my skincare routine and your opinion on what time (night time or day time) i should apply these as well. I will tell you beside the products what time of day I have been applying them but i still want your opinion on the matter. These are the products i use: *Clinique liquid facial soap for oily skin (day and night) *Clinique clarifying lotion type 3 for oily combination skin (day and night) *Clinique dramaticaly different moisturizing gel for oily skin (day time) (should i use at night also?) *Clinique Repairwear laser focus serum (day time) (should i use at night also?) *Clinique Repairwear laser focus wrinkle correcting eye cream (day time) *Clindagel (prescribed acne medication that is a thin liquid) (night time) *Mario Badescu glycolic eye cream (night time) *Tarte Maracuja Oil (night time) -thank you- and for my acne medicine my dermatologist said i can apply it under or over moisterizer at night, hope that helps with giving me a good answer
I use daily (and LOVE!) Urban Decay's 24/7 waterproof liquid eyeliner in perversion and I just went to reorder it...and it seems that it's no longer available?! HELP! Does anyone have a suggestion for one that is like it? I absolutely LOVED the brush and the color. Some eyeliners are TOO black and this one was just right. Thanks!
Ok so I recently bought Bare Minerals original foundation...I figured it would be an easy foundation for days I don't feel like doing much. I put on a primer, liquid illuminator and a little bit of cream concealer then went to apply the foundation with the tarte airbrush finish brush (recommended by TiffanyD to use with this foundation) and it looked terrible! It went on patchy and clinged to dry spots that didn't exist before I put it on. I do have dry skin, but have learned to moisturize well before applying foundation. I feel like I made a crucial mistake somewhere along during the application because I know this is a very loved foundation by many people. Anyone have any ideas?
Hi, I've been battling with acne for a while. Just went to see a new dermatologist and am prescribed some topicals that will be doing the job of drying my skin for me. She told me not to be using facial cleansers or moisturizers with any of the ingredients for acne such as salicylic acid or benzyl peroxide or I'll be drying my skin out even more which will be producing more oil. Before today's appointment, I've been using Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion (for oily/acne prone skin) and washing with Estee Lauder perfectly clean foam cleanser. Any product recommendations? My skin is pretty sensitive, so anything really light that doesn't contain "acne" concern ingredients would be great!
They are now available for purchase for rouge members. I didn't know they would come up with 2 different palettes and it took me completely by surprise. my wallet was not prepared for this! I am so weak to my Vices. If you could get only one vice palette this year, which one would you choose?
I did the Color IQ in a Sephora store and my match is 1Y02. None of the shades of YSL Fusion Ink Foundation come up as a match, but I'd like to try the product. What shade would be the closest match for me?
Hi there - I'm a huge consumer of mascara and eyeliner. I used to have a great face wash that could handle the chore of removing my eye makeup as well as clean my face, but it was discontinued. I want one product - a face wash - that can do the trick. I don't want to use eye makeup remover after I wash my face. Any thoughts?
