FEATURED POST
Makeup
On the threads here I see a lot of people regard these two brands as something that an older mother or grandmother would use, but what makes others regard these brands as something targeted to the elderly? I started using Estee Lauder when I was 13, and I have loved it ever since then, and I am still a teenager. They have my favorite eye shadows, my holy grail mascara,  their lipsticks and glosses are also loves of mine, and I am obsessed with their gold packaging. I have also used Lancome and I am a fan of them as well. Am I missing some information about this brand? I haven't been able to piece together myself as to why others think this brand is for the elderly.
All Other Skincare Concerns
I'm using Differin in its cream form (while also cleansing, toning, and moisturizing.) My moisturizer is Sheer Transformation from Ole Henriksen's line (in the blue jar,) and it's a cream, but it's very lightweight and not thick or heavy at all (so more gel like, but it "looks" thick.) I also use a cream-serum and a night cream from Eucerin that targets facial redness. All are creams. Is there a certain way I should layer them? I always moisturize before I apply Differin because my skin's a little sensitive to it and get's red when I apply DIfferin before I moisturize. I'm just confused on what happens after I moisturize...any advice?
Face Q&A
Alright, so I always have so much trouble finding the perfect foundation. I have combination skin, which I never seem to have a problem with when it comes to foundation. But I am very fair, my arms tan easily in the summer so I was using the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation, which feels and stays amazingly but the lightest shade only matches with my arms in the summer and I don't want to be matching shades just to my arms.  I keep reading reviews on Nar's foundations and Urban Decay's foundations, but I'm really feeling like they're not helping me. I will finally be going into Sephora this month, I am looking for a good light to medium foundation that has wonderful staying power, any suggestions on what foundations I should look at? I want to be prepared and go in with a list of the best and replace the Tarte!
Hair
Hey So I've always had very thick and very cource hair that is naturally very frizzy and puffy. Because my hair is very cource, it's also very dry on the ends. My hair is kind of straight, but it's also very, very kinky and flips out all over the place so it has a few loose waves. As I'm growing older (I'm now 15), my hair is getting harder and harder to manage as I get so many flyaways and it's so hard to put it in a ponytale, even. The last year or so I've been straightening my hair everyday and although my hair doesn't get especially damaged as it's so strong, it takes such a lot of time and effort, and I'd love to stop doing so but it looks crazy if I don't. I also dry my hair using a hair dryer, also I don't blow-dry it properly as it's very difficult on my hair and takes such as long time. Although heat is meant to cause more frizz, I find that if I let my hair dry naturally, it's even more crazy. My hair is quite dry but it tends to get a little greasy sometimes, so I tend to wash it every 2 to 3 days. However, I do find that it's shinier and more managable a couple of days after washing my hair.  I'd love to put together a better hair care routine, but I don't what would work well on my hair! Any reccomendations, tips or ideas? Thanks so much ! Oh and I live in the UK if that helps productwise.

I have been trying to get myself out of a minor depression since KVD discontinued her primer. I wondered if anyone tried the new Tarte primer or the the new too faced primer with it?
Face
So I am always on the hunt for that "Miracle in a Bottle" I went into Sephora to try a new foundation that I have not worn yet. (Which I have worn a lot) I am 42 with acne/oily skin. I find a powder foundation works best, but love the way liquid looks instead. I was matched to #33 in the 8hr mattifying compact in the Sephora line. It looked good when she applied my makeup. Just wondering why there is not much talk about this one. I have the MUFE Duo and I would compare it to that. (or when wearing it I won't?) I have yet to wear it, just curious if anyone that has used this likes or dislikes it. Also wear MUFE HD (stinks for oily skin, and yes I cleanse with my Clarisonic, use the Ole henriksen line and always use a primer, currently the oily free one from Smashbox) also use MUFE Duo compact. Never tried the mat velvet, don't know why. Aveda, and BM (matte formula) Also SA applied with brush, I have been using my BM Kabuki brush, shall I apply differently??

Just purchased sephora's 10 hr foundation and mattifying compact in light 23. Which color do i need to purchase the sephora 10hr fix and correct concealer?
Lips
Was almost ready to pay CRAZY Ebay prices and did a a quick google search and was able to see Ulta still had them as Sephora and Tarte have been sold out of them for a long time!! Just in case anyone didn't know like me!!

I'm honestly always on a hunt for a better eyeliner. eyeliners that glide on smoother, that stay on longer, and is better value..    I have purchased and used the Bobbi brown's gel liner 2 times, but I'm not crazy about them. They stay on a bit better than Nars cream liners, but still isn't enough.. my undereye area gets very very messy after about 4 hours.    I'm interested in the YSL gel liners, but like all other YSL products, the reviews are "too glowingly positive"  For ex. their stick concealer and touche eclat foundation are nice, but they're not worth 5 star reviews. (at least in my opinion)    Has anyone with eyes that are prone to smudging easily tried he YSL gel liner? (monolid reviewers would be even more helpful)

Happy Sunday, everyone!   QVC's today's special value (TSV) is this device today. I am 38yo, fair to light, and I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin. I am especially sensitive to anything win fragrance.   I used the NuFace Trinity device, and it definitely did provide a lift, but it wasn't a terribly pleasant experience. It also irritated my skin a bit. I returned it.   i am intrigued by the Tria TSV. I would like it for fine lines and evening out the texture of my skin.    has anyone used this? Did it work? How does it compare to dermie office fraxel treatments, or, I guess, does it even compare?   thank you for any guidance!

It's not letting me post pictures-whyyyy???? Anyway, there is a new eyeshadow palette and the Rose Gold SSP in Liquid Form out! Yay! I really want to compare swatches between the pressed and liquid. The palette is all matte and really pretty, but the last three colors look pretty similar. There's info. and pictures on Temptalia if you want to go see, but the pictures are not uploading...

Time to take advantage of some cash back!  Unfortunately, as I was pulling up the Sephora page via Ebates, my item went OOS.  Heartbroken, since it's something I had been waiting for   ...try, try again!
Beauty Confessions
I've been on a massive Dolce spree lately... I tried their lipsticks and lip glosses and I'm in love!  I also did my normal Kat Von D hoarding as well this month with all the new lippies.  So much so, that I haven't yet did my normal Nars round up.  Is there a particular brand that you have been snatching up lately anytime you have a couple of bucks in your pocket?  What is the brand and how much do you think you spent on your brand addiction?  And what do you love about it?

Just purchased the AgaVE Smoothing Trio & cannot wait to use it in the morning! I've been using Living Proof No Frizz & Perfect Hair day but went on the suggestion of the Sephora rep. Anyone out here in BT land try this set? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts

Hello! I have a question I am sure is asked a lot. I am having trouble finding a foundation, well kind of. I was matched in store for MUFE Mat Velvet+ in No. 20 Ivory. I do really like this foundation but since its summer I went back in to find something a bit lighter looking and a more natural finish. (I have Combo Skin that gets oily through the day on the forehead). I was matched with the tool they have now and was told I was 2Y04. Well now I am really lost, how do I know what color I am and how do I go about finding a shade for me with out having to go and try them all on and not get pushed into one I don't really like. When I go to find my color matches through the foundation I already have it comes up with 1R03 and a totally different set of colors. Now I have also gotten my hands on MUFE HD in 115 Ivory and it also looks good on me. So If you can help me out I would much appreciate it.

Just got an email from UD's website stating free shipping on anything. Also free deluxe samples with a perversion mascara purchase. Didn't specify when it ends.
All Other Concerns
My Dr's office has infrared saunas and I was wondering if anyone here has used them.  What does it feel like?  How long did you use one and did you see any benefits?   For those will ask, infrared saunas are supposed to: - remove toxins through increased circulation and sweating - burns as many calories as 30 minutes of jogging - clears cellulite - reduces stress and fatigue - improves acne and appearance of wrinkles

Just thot id share what works best for me.  I use the mia in the morning in the shower with my sheshido cleanser, thus avoiding getting makeup in the brush head.  Then I use the luna at night with my estee lauder cream cleanser.  The silicone bristles are a cinch to clean make up off.  I j u st lather some bath/body works antibacterial soap on it and it cleans right up.  I would love to hear other suggestions on this.  I will say my skin is glowing because im getting the best of both worlds!

I'm heading to NYC for the weekend and want to check out New London Pharmacy since I hear they are more similar to French pharmacy with the quality of products they have and the brands (including Bioderma!). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for brands I should check out outside of the usual suspects (e.g. La Roche-Posay, Nuxe, Lumene, etc.).

I wear Sand Beige in Laura Mercier Silk Cream Foundation and G40/50 in Cover FX Full Coverage Creme Foundation. Any clue what my match would be for the Sensual Skin Enhancer??
All Other Skincare Concerns
My skin is very oily/combo and has large pores. I also have redness and hyper pigmentation all over my face. I've tried samples of both Murad's and Clinque's products, and none of them have stung my face. However, both are pretty expensive ($50~~~) and I don't want to buy both because a) too much money and b) I don't want to overwhelm my skin with a slew of skincare products.    I know Clinique can target anything that's wrong with your skin, while Murad's hydrator can only do so much. Has anyone tried both these products enough to recommend one over the other?

Hi There - I'm currently using the estee lauder double wear foundation in Ecru 1n2, however I realize now its too light for my skin tone. I did the color IQ in sephora back in January and was matched to 1Y07, and i found that the estee lauder match to that code was Fresco 2C3. Just by looking at the Fresco shade i know it might be too pink for my skin tone. I am definitely neutral even though I find the veins in my wrists quite blue. My face has some pink undertone but id like to match my foundation to my neck and it is definitely more neutral and not pink. Looking for suggestions on what shades you might think would work for me? I understand the "7" is a medium shade. I was looking at the desert beige 2n1, or the dawn beige 2w1 or the rattan 2w2. thank you!!

Hi Everyone!  I used to LOVE MAC's SplashProof Lash Mascara and i LOVE IT!  It stays on, and looks amazing but they discontinued it.  I've tried their Waterproof Zoom Lash and the other one they have but both seem dry and just like theres not enough going on and i try to put on quite a few coats, any suggestions on something comparable to SplashProof?

I need a recommendation for a moisturizer or moisturizer regimen for someone that is acne prone. I have oily skin but with pretty dry patches.
