Hi I'm basically a very old skincare novice, completely clueless (you'll probably see another post from me about makeup haha). I'm trying to take better care of myself so I'm starting with my skin. I'm 33 and my 2nd son aged me probably 10 years. I've done the sporadic facial, the sephora mask, cheap and expensive products based on Sephora recommendations but there's no plan or consistency really. I need help building a routine. My skin is ok for the most part, I would say normal although I have no idea what's the criteria to label it otherwise :/ My biggest concern is my eyes, since the birth of my son last year they took a big hit...bags, wrinkles, dark circles. The other concern is that my freckles (On cheeks and nose) are merging together and creating age spots...dark spots? I was always happy with them now I'm super self-conscious. Would you lovely ladies help me with advice for someone my age? Probably a step by step daily routine with product recommendations? do i need a peel, mask? dermatologist visit? when to do facials? I don't want to say there's no budget , but this is very important to me (I got hit with PPD hard) so I'm prepared to make an investment
Which of the following is the best liquid foundation for oily skin? I say liquid because I tried Bare Minerals and don't like it, I also tried Make Up Forever Mat Velvet and it did not make my skin matte at all! Lancome TEINT IDOLE ULTRA - Enduringly Divine & Comfortable Makeup 14-Hour Retouch-Free, Oil-Free Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation NARS Sheer Matte Foundation MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 Let me know if anyone with oily skin has tried any of these and what is the best recommendation. I am also open to other foundations I may have missed that are also good. Thanks!
Hi all! I've been browsing the forum and found many suggestions for acne scar treatments. So I was wondering what the best product is for acne scars? I don't want a spot treatment or a peel, but an overall face serum/treatment. But I don't want a face lightening product (I don't want to lighten my whole face/complexion). Also, can I use these acne scar treatments in conjunction with another serum (such as an anti-aging serum)? Thanks ahead of time for your advice/suggestions/answers!
Hi, I am 12. I always watch juicystar07 and allthatglitters21 on youtube. They have inspired me so much to make a beauty guru channel, but am I too young? I also watch addicted2toofaced, and she is pretty young. I dont know also how to ask my mom and how to tell my friends. Please give me some advice, it would be so helpful! Thanks!
I absolutely love makeup. I've been doing it for about 4 years now, and I love everything about it. I own mostly drugstore with a few higher end products sprinkled in. As a high school sophomore, I don't have the money on hand to buy expensive products all the time, or to buy a $40 tube of foundation, then hate it, and it's hard to return stuff because I live in a small town, most of my shopping is done online, or in store when I get a chance to go a bigger city near me. So I need some help from experienced beauty lovers who know the ins and outs of high end makeup. What's some of you worth it high end makeup buys? For reference I have oily skin and my main concern is acne, and I like more full coverage products. Thank you so much, have a great day!
I've been cutting out meat for a while, and recently went full vegan and now my skin is freaking out. I've never really had that much acne to begin with, just usually around my period. But now my face is covered. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm trying to figure out if this something I need to ride out or change my whole skincare regimen... any advice is greatly appreciated!
Hi! I've been struggling to find a sunscreen for my face to use regularly in order to protect my already vulnerable skin. I have Lupus, so my face especially is sensitive and really needs consistent UV protection. I don't always wear foundation, but for when I do, I'd like something that works well under my other makeup. I'm very fair, (I use Y205 in the MUFE HD Foundation) so I don't care that much about a white cast. It'd be even more of a plus if someone could suggest a product I could touch up my UV protection with over my makeup that isn't the supergoop setting spray (tried it, didn't like it). My skin is normal, but will get oily around my T-zone occasionally.
Hey ya'll!! So I get married in September (3 months!!!) and I'm STILL looking for a good foundation to wear on my wedding day . We recently got a Sephora in my town so I no longer have to drive 2.5 hours to one or order online, so I went in and got the Make Up Forever HD liquid foundation and the shade match was lovely. However, it seemed to settle into my smile lines and get shiny and greasy throughout my workday (even with a good primer) so I'm not sure it would hold up well at my wedding. I have combination skin I'd say. I get oily in my T-Zone and have larger pores. Any help recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Need something with no SPF so it doesn't cause flashback in photos! THANKS!
so i LOVE tha falsies mascara from maybelline ( i use the waterproof one, for curl hold ) and was wondering if there are any mascaras similar to it drugstore, highend, stocked in sephora...in dr. who's tardis ( seriously, does anyone else watch that show... tell me it's not just me) wherever. and prefrbly waterproof, i've never liked a non-waterproof mascara. p.s. merry almost christmas! or new years, or hannakuah, or whatever you celebrate! <3 :0
I know, it seems like a long reach. I'm a workaholic, and I work about 16 hours a day usually. I also have shifts all night. Basically, I'm not looking for anything with crazy coverage or glam! Do you guys know any products I can wear during graveyard that will benefit my skin, soak up oils, and maybe last up to 10-12 hours? I'm mostly looking for a primer and a foundation/tinted moisturizer. I am very, very fair with combination skin. Thank you!
Hi. I am a teen and have occasional blemishes. i have tried the murad clarifying cleanser, but i get this colorless bumps on my forehead and dont know what to do. I feel like i tried everything, and not sure what skin regimen to invest in anymore. Please someone tell me what these colorless bumps are and how to get rid of them.
I am interested in buying an eye palette for everyday makeup looks and I'm trying to figure out what to buy next. I already bought the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette so that's out. Information about me is that I have green eyes and my skin tone is light to median.
I am allergic to most sunscreens. The ones I am not allergic to are the ones that reflect light but they usually leave a white cast on the skin. Can anyone recommend a sunscreen for extremely sensitive skin that I can use before applying makeup that wont interfere with the color?
Ive tried SO many foundations and every one seems to be a problem for me. My skin is pretty fair so most of the time the foundation oxidizes and my face is a different colour than my neck/chest. The most recent foundation I have been trying is the Georgio Armani Luminous Silk in shade 2 (3Y02) which is highly raved about and for some reason it looks super cakey on me, and is a little too yellow/dark for my natural skin tone. It also just doesn't look the dewy and flawless finish I want. My skin is not very problematic, sometimes dry but other than that it is good. Someone please help, I am looking for a luminous, dewy and flawless foundation and I have been on the hunt for too long!
I have one-three small milia near my eye (underneath). I have not gone to a dermatologist because its not that extreme for me to get an incision. I was wondering if there were any good treatments to get rid of them? I'm too scared to perform a surgery on myself, but I also don't want to spend hundreds of $$ just to get 2 of them out when they're not that bad yet. Thanks!
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had some skincare suggestions. I am fairly new to the world of skincare and I really want to work towards more radiant skin. I have sensitive and combination skin. I also have some acne problems, but those aren't my main priority at the moment. I was looking into some of Sephora Collection's cleansers and was wondering how those are. Also, how is the Urban Decay Hot Springs Hydrating Gel and would it work alone as a moisturizer? If you have any suggestions or tips, I would really appreciate the help! Thank you!
I just recently started getting awful forehead acne. Ive been told it could be from wearing my hair on my face. Stopped that, and it still contenues! Any products that could help clear this up? Thanks!
What is the best concealer for asian indian under eye dark circles that will not be drawn into the tiny wrinkles? I have attempted many though unable to achieve the desired, natural, well rested look without looking like I have risen from the dead....please help! Thanks, shaila
I am wondering what people think as the best concealer for blemishes. I don't like ones with salicylic acid. I was using shape tape and the nars soft matte but both are too pink in my shade and doesn't fully cover. Any suggestions?
I went to Sephora today to sample a few foundations: -Makeup Forever Mat Velvet Plus and -Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation But, the sales associate pointed me towards a few other foundations as well. -Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation -Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation and -Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation So, now I'm confused!!! Which one should I purchase in the full size?? To help you out, I have combination skin, slightly more dry than oily. My skin is only gets oily when I get hot. My skin is also acne prone, and in need of a full coverage foundation. If the foundation isn't completely full coverage, then I'd need an additional concealer. Which one of these foundations is not too mattifying/ works well with slightly dry skin, stays put, and doesn't break out or irritate the skin? Thanks
I have dry skin and at night I like to use a moisturizer that is REALLY moisturizing. I have seen replies for questions like mine but those products are not moisturizing enough for me. I would be using this lotion for nighttime along with some acne medication I am using. Thank you for your suggestions!!
Any oily girls like me have experience with this sunscreen? I need a non-comedogenic high SPF sunscreen that won't clog my already-overactive pores. I was looking at this or Sheshido's products. I've tried Boscia and it broke me out. I would like something that goes on smoothly under makeup. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I will be starting Accutane treatment this fall for acne in my T-zone, and I will need a new daily makeup routine to deal with dry, flaky skin. I'm very, very self conscious without makeup, so going fresh-faced probably won't be an option. I have very sensitive, very pale skin, and I'm worried that my usual makeup will look weird and fake if my skin is flaking. It would be amazing if y'all could help me choose some products for daily use! Thanks! This is what makeup I wear on a daily basis: -primer -foundation -concealer -powder -blush -highlighter -bronzer -nude eyeshadow -eyeliner (pencil) -mascara -lip gloss So if y'all could help me find moisturizing products that won't look conspicuous with dry skin, that would be amazing! Oh, and one last thing: my Sephora+Pantone Color ID is 1R02! Thanks so much!
Hi Beauties! I'm planning my first trip to Europe (Hungary, mainly) in a couple months and am concerned with being able to use my heat tools...I have a lot of hair that I try to take particular care of, and I'm attending a wedding - so I need to look polished. I have a Velecta Paramount hair dryer, an amika Polished Perfection Straightening Brush, and their Switch Kit curling iron. I mention the specific tools I have so that I can ask the following: Has anyone traveled to EU with these specific tools, or similar? Did you use a converter - which one? Has anyone tried just ordering new tools from a EU seller so that the tools have the right hardware? If so, any suggestions on similar quality tools to look at? I'm also curious to see if anyone has other thoughts/ideas/suggestions on the topic that I haven't thought to ask about. Thanks!!
Hi! I've been using a Beauty Blender for a couple years now but I've found that sometimes the long wear foundation I use won't come out when I wash it. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear and when I go to clean my Beauty Blender there're patches of the foundation that get hard and won't come out. It's not just a stain, there's actually a hard patch of dried foundation (sometimes on the surface and sometimes i can feel it inside the blender). I've used their soap with both hot and cold water, but nothing seems to help. Also, it's happening with a brand new blender so its age can't be the problem. I need some advice on how to get it out. Thanks!
