I went to Sephora today to sample a few foundations: -Makeup Forever Mat Velvet Plus and -Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation But, the sales associate pointed me towards a few other foundations as well. -Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation -Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation and -Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation So, now I'm confused!!! Which one should I purchase in the full size?? To help you out, I have combination skin, slightly more dry than oily. My skin is only gets oily when I get hot. My skin is also acne prone, and in need of a full coverage foundation. If the foundation isn't completely full coverage, then I'd need an additional concealer. Which one of these foundations is not too mattifying/ works well with slightly dry skin, stays put, and doesn't break out or irritate the skin? Thanks
I am interested in buying an eye palette for everyday makeup looks and I'm trying to figure out what to buy next. I already bought the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette so that's out. Information about me is that I have green eyes and my skin tone is light to median.
I am wondering what people think as the best concealer for blemishes. I don't like ones with salicylic acid. I was using shape tape and the nars soft matte but both are too pink in my shade and doesn't fully cover. Any suggestions?
I have dry skin and at night I like to use a moisturizer that is REALLY moisturizing. I have seen replies for questions like mine but those products are not moisturizing enough for me. I would be using this lotion for nighttime along with some acne medication I am using. Thank you for your suggestions!!
Any oily girls like me have experience with this sunscreen? I need a non-comedogenic high SPF sunscreen that won't clog my already-overactive pores. I was looking at this or Sheshido's products. I've tried Boscia and it broke me out. I would like something that goes on smoothly under makeup. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I will be starting Accutane treatment this fall for acne in my T-zone, and I will need a new daily makeup routine to deal with dry, flaky skin. I'm very, very self conscious without makeup, so going fresh-faced probably won't be an option. I have very sensitive, very pale skin, and I'm worried that my usual makeup will look weird and fake if my skin is flaking. It would be amazing if y'all could help me choose some products for daily use! Thanks! This is what makeup I wear on a daily basis: -primer -foundation -concealer -powder -blush -highlighter -bronzer -nude eyeshadow -eyeliner (pencil) -mascara -lip gloss So if y'all could help me find moisturizing products that won't look conspicuous with dry skin, that would be amazing! Oh, and one last thing: my Sephora+Pantone Color ID is 1R02! Thanks so much!
Hi Beauties! I'm planning my first trip to Europe (Hungary, mainly) in a couple months and am concerned with being able to use my heat tools...I have a lot of hair that I try to take particular care of, and I'm attending a wedding - so I need to look polished. I have a Velecta Paramount hair dryer, an amika Polished Perfection Straightening Brush, and their Switch Kit curling iron. I mention the specific tools I have so that I can ask the following: Has anyone traveled to EU with these specific tools, or similar? Did you use a converter - which one? Has anyone tried just ordering new tools from a EU seller so that the tools have the right hardware? If so, any suggestions on similar quality tools to look at? I'm also curious to see if anyone has other thoughts/ideas/suggestions on the topic that I haven't thought to ask about. Thanks!!
I've been cutting out meat for a while, and recently went full vegan and now my skin is freaking out. I've never really had that much acne to begin with, just usually around my period. But now my face is covered. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm trying to figure out if this something I need to ride out or change my whole skincare regimen... any advice is greatly appreciated!
Hi! I've been using a Beauty Blender for a couple years now but I've found that sometimes the long wear foundation I use won't come out when I wash it. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear and when I go to clean my Beauty Blender there're patches of the foundation that get hard and won't come out. It's not just a stain, there's actually a hard patch of dried foundation (sometimes on the surface and sometimes i can feel it inside the blender). I've used their soap with both hot and cold water, but nothing seems to help. Also, it's happening with a brand new blender so its age can't be the problem. I need some advice on how to get it out. Thanks!
Will sephora restock the drybar total blowout bundle or another similar bundle?? I just ran across it on sephora.com yesterday but it was out of stock. My hair dryer just died, and I am looking to try to drybar dryer along with some of their other products. It was limited edition and I have called to speak with online rep - they said it was still there so they didn't think it was discontinued but there was no restock date. Thanks!
I'm a 21 year old college student with combination skin and large pores on my cheeks. My eyes are my main problem, I have dark circles, lots of puffiness, and significant bags under my eyes from stress and lack of sleep. I just finished the Drunk Elephant Shaba Eye Serum, it reduced my dark circles slightly but not enough to repurchase. Any recommendations for an eye serum or light cream that reduces eye bags and puffiness are greatly appreciated!
As a beauty addict, I have more than my fair share of makeup products..but I've been slacking on my skincare. a lot. At one point, I was just using wipes and cetaphil lotion ( I know, disgusting.) Anyway I've been getting back into my routine though. This is my current routine: -Shiseido Gentle Cleanser -Algenist Hydrating Toner -Clinique Moisturizing Lotion+ But I have questions! What do you use? Serums? Exfoliators? Luna? Any tips or experience is greatly appreciated and I'd love to hear all about y'all skincare routine! (P.S. I am prone to redness on my cheeks and my skin is generally normal/dry but the tip of my nose is white head galore and I have those whiteheads that stick out almost on the sides of my nose) Please let me know what you use to get rid of these suckers!
One of my eyebrows is higher than the other and also a different shape - much more arched whereas the other is more straight. Every time I go to get my eyebrows threaded, they can never do much about it. But when I fill them in, it's so obvious, especially in photos! I don't know what to do - any ideas? (I use ABH dipbrow, but any suggestions are great)
I was sooo disappointed to find out that Dior had discontinued their Extase line of mascara and need a good alternative. Tried Better than Sex, Rollerlash, They're Real (different but better than the others), Diorshow, ect but haven't found one that lives up to Extase. Your suggestions are appreciated- thank you.
In the summer my face tends to tan better than my chest and im not sure what type of makeup i should use on my chest to match my face. Its hard because i have freckles so i never use any face makeup (only stuff for my eyes/lips).
I'm wearing a navy blue dress and I'm using the Modern Renaissance palette for my eyes. I have very pale neutral-toned skin, blue eyes, and very dark brown hair. I would really like something that doesn't need to be reapplied to often and doesn't look super weird when it wears off.
as much as i love maybeline's mascaras, they smudge and flake like crazy. i need something that lengthens and separates (like maybeline's one by one) and keeps my long lashes from falling down over my eyes. most importantly i need something that doesn't give me raccoon eyes. p.s. i've tried hypnose, it burns like crazy. i guess my eyes are sensitive too.
I recently read that cornstarch can aggravate acne. I also read that talc is a known carcinogen. I am currently using Nars blush but I keep breaking out only where I apply it...I want to try something new but I can't seem to find any blush that does not have these 2 ingredients! please help.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had some skincare suggestions. I am fairly new to the world of skincare and I really want to work towards more radiant skin. I have sensitive and combination skin. I also have some acne problems, but those aren't my main priority at the moment. I was looking into some of Sephora Collection's cleansers and was wondering how those are. Also, how is the Urban Decay Hot Springs Hydrating Gel and would it work alone as a moisturizer? If you have any suggestions or tips, I would really appreciate the help! Thank you!
I am looking for recommendations for an Asian bridal make-up and hair artist in the San Gabriel Valley, CA area (especially in Pasadena, Alhambra, San Gabriel) to do fresh, natural (not over-done) Asian makeup for my wedding day. I am hoping to spend $300 or so (including wedding hair/make-up and trial hair/make-up) to find an artist who is professional and well-reviewed. I also need an artist who has a studio or salon at which to meet since I don't want to have my hair/make-up done at my house or at the venue. Please message me if you've worked with an artist, and can highly recommend them. I'd prefer artists who work with a lot of Asian brides (some make-up artists struggle with Asian eye makeup), and who can do both hair and make-up. I am attaching pictures of the type of natural Asian make-up look that I'm going for. I
I have a Babyliss 1 inch curling iron. I have medium to thick hair....and right now it's about sitting on my shoulders (length of my hair). It's an angled bob but has grown out a little since I got it cut in October. I have had this curling iron for a while....but when I use it to curl, it doesn't seem to curl! I use the Tresemme Heat Protectant prior to and I use hairspray as well....I don't get what I may be doing wrong. It has heat settings and it doesn't matter which heat setting I put it on....it still doesn't seem to curl at all. I tried doing it today, but it just didn't work! So I ended up using my straightener to do it. I feel like I wasted money on buying this curler and I've seen so many youtube gurus I watch online have the exact same curler and theirs curls great and properly. But for me it just doesn't work....is it because my hair is shorter? Oh and also, I don't own hot rollers so that is not even an option at all...lol Any suggestions??? What do I do???
hey all, i have long, thick, blonde hair and i need some ideas for hairstyles for prom! I don't want to go all up but i definitely dont want to wear it all down. please share pictures of hairstyles that are sort of half up/half down types so i can get some ideas of what I want to do. thanks! PS-Here's a few pictures of me to go off of what you think would look best<3 and here is the dress(: it will be sewn together in the middle so it's a one piece dress, and i'm not sure what types of accessories i want
My skin is both oily and dry. I'm also have large pores and very fair, and sensitive skin. Would love skincare recommendations as well as foundation/primer/concealer etc recommendations. I find that my foundation gets patchy and dry looking fast no matter what I try.
