Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
Guys, you know the saying.. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I went to Sephora on two separate occasions. First, I went to make an exchange from the DUO Mat powder to a Stila eyeliner. Meaning from $34 to $20. So I should be getting $14+tax back on a store credit card. Cashier scans the eyeliner first then the Duo Mat, then the eyeliner. Bro tells me that I owed $7.XX for 1 eyeliner that cost less than my Duo Mat. I don't think that is how math works, I am not an accountant, but I can do basic math. This dude obviously can't. He swiped the store credit card twice, meaning he puts my amount of $14.+tax on the card and then takes it back out and tells me to pay more. Uh no. Fast forward to the afternoon of the same day, I called to check my balance. NADA. There is nothing on it, that was 9/8/2014. I called numerous times to have this solved and nothing. FINE. I will pretend that I got burglarized and lost about $16. Fast forward some more, to 10/1/2014. I went to the same Sephora to pick up some makeup removing wipes. $12 for Josie Maran and $8 for Ole Harry. $20 total. I have some gift cards to use. One had about $2.XX and the other had about $35. I gave the dude the first one, then the second one. He then tells me that the second one was just enough to cover the charge and then threw away my gift card. I asked for the cards back and he gave me the receipts. I am now home and was looking through my receipts. Well, guess what?! Bro threw away $14.13 into the thrash, if I had not ask for my cards back. AND IF I HAVE YET TO MAKE IT CLEAR, IT WAS THE SAME SA THAT CHECKED ME OUT. So here is my wonderful Sephora service story. Even if they are as nice as angels, I cannot tolerate the SA's being so incompetent. I almost lost $30 just from this one guy. Bottom line, lesson learned. If possible avoid Stonestown Galleria Sephora.
This hasn't been started yet so I'll give it a go. Today is the last day that SiJCP has an extra 25% off clearance so I stopped in to poke around before I start up the smoker for tonight. I grabbed all these goodies for $30.
Well, it's that time of the year again - the time when we get to buy special products for ourselves (and others) and possibly feel a little less guilty about spending, knowing that a portion of the money we spend goes to a worthy cause. Breast Cancer is not just something for women to worry about, it is a disease that men can be diagnosed with too. * I was hoping we could all post products that we find that support legitimate charities to raise money, Please feel free to post whatever you find.* If you search "Beauty That Gives Back" here at Sephora you'll find a few cute items, I"m hoping there are more to come. I Just bought a pink Tweezerman tweezer - looks like it may need a BCA mate. Clinique and Sephora both offer "BCA Pink With a Purpose" Lipstick in a cute little case. A Huge fave of mine is by Bobbi Brown - it's "Pretty Pink Ribbon Lip Gloss Collection" It's 4 glosses and they're gorgeous! (I'm hoping they're minty flavored - sometimes they do offer mint gloss - waiting on that info.) This one is really screaming my name! Estee Lauder usually does something as does Ford (they usually have special T-shirts.) So many decisions to make, but it's so worth it. For a pinkaholic like me, this is a dream & a nightmare! But hopefully our purchases will help make other peoples true nightmares - past, present and future - turn into a dream come true. So please feel free to add any other offers you may find. Oh, just one other thing, please feel free to leave one of everything pink for me! btw - As usual, sorry so long. I also hope the wording of this was okay, didn't want to use certain words that might upset someone or make light of this situation at all - I hope that came through.
It's midnight in New York and you know what that means... it's October!! I don't care if I'm in California, I'm still making this post hahaha. I started my haul at CVS because my sister had $10 rewards for beauty and I used that towards lipsticks for my kit. I got Wet n Wild lipsticks in Sugar Plum Fairy, Wine Room, and Mauve Outta Here. I also got a Milani lipstick in High Voltage. I paid $2 for 4 lipsticks! I went to Ulta to pick up NYX Dark Circle Corrector and the Essence Lipstick (4th one above) in Wear Berries THEN, I went to Sephora to pick up a free deluxe sample of Bare Minerals lipstick in Speak Your Mind and my MUFE Birthday gift! PS my birthday is October 18 hehe
Hi, I really like the look that the Makeup Artist did for me on my wedding day. I love it but I did not have a chance to see how he did it (since I had to close my eyes, of course LOL) I am going to a special event this weekend and want to do this look on my own. Anybody has any idea about it ? I know this is a cut crease look but I don't know where to start and how we can create the perfect line between the lid and the crease? How to smoke out them? What kind of brushes to use ? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you !
I have been noticing that you cant tell I'm wearing makeup in pictures. Am I not wearing enough, you can only tell im wearing liquid eyeliner but in person I feel like I am wearing a good amount? Is it just my makeup that's not pigmented enough?
Good morning (or afternoon) BT! You migh remember my post from yesterday about a new round of challenges. This is just for fun, and I will be posting a new theme every week. Feel free to join in whenever! To quote my post: "I'm not sure how many of you remember the makeup challenge posts, but I want to start some new ones for October! With Halloween just around the corner (yes, a month is just around to corner to me) I thought this would be a good way to practice any potential makeup/costume ideas. I'd like to post a new theme every week, but there are no deadlines so feel free to join in whenever and show off your costume makeup skills" With a little inspiration from the recent MAC collection, this week's theme will be Rocky Horror Picture Show ! Recreate a look from your favorite character or create your own RHPS inspired look. I'm looking forward to what you guys post and will be doing a look of my own Have fun! Here is some face chart inspiration also:
Just got my Vice 3 yesterday in my Ulta haul, and I need some help putting colors together. I can also take combination suggestions using other palettes-- something I am not good at is mixing palettes. I also have Naked 1, Vice, Sephora ipad palette, and soon to be Chocolate Bar. Anyone use Vice 3 yet and have an awesome eye to show off? Help an eyeshadow impaired girl out! Pictures welcome!
I am searching for a foundation to help cover uneven skin tone and acne scars. I have combo to dry skin type. I tried Kat Von d and Estée lauder double wear but my skin was too dry and looked cakey . I really would prefer something more natural looking vs matte finish. In the past I have used bobbi brown but my formula was discontinued (extra repair foundation) and not completely happy with what I was put in as a substitute (bobbi brown moisture rich). It's not very long lasting.
I have recently been using the Tarte Amazonian Clay liquid Foundation, and bareMinerals Blemish Remedy, and both are making me break out... I have used the Clinique Stay-Matte but it also made me break out. I am looking for a good Liquid foundation and/or a powder, preferably pressed powder for on the run touch ups, that won't encourage breakouts. Any suggestions?
I am wearing a black dress with rhinestone accents to a wedding. I have medium brown eyes and medium toned skin. What are the best color eyeshadows to wear? My daughter says purples because it makes my eyes look pretty. Please advise.
Went to Sephora in JCP for the new KVD holiday palette (which is amazing btw) and saw these exclusive favorites sets. Didn't see anything about them on BT so I thought I'd share. Spa Radiance Star Performers Cleansing Rituals Lashes Unlimited Lip Service Makeup Must-Haves Eyeliner Essentials
So after researching under-eye skin care, I am finding some controversy over whether we really need to purchase moisturizers specifically for the eye area or not. What I am reading states that a good daytime face moisturizer or serum should be sufficient for the under-eye area. The products specifically formulated for under-eye are just twice as expensive for less product. Is this true in your opinion? I have fine-lines under my eyes at age 46 that need moisture in order to resist the 'concealer creasing' that occurs throughout the day. There's got to be a good daily moisturizer that does the trick without having to spend a fortune on these little bottles of eye cream/serum. What do you think?
Hello - My favorite lightweight moisturizer was discontinued (Shiseido The Skincare). I seriously hate moisturizer that is heavy on my face. Especially, because I put tinted moisturizer over it. I also don't understand the need for the moisturizer to have an SPF AND the foundation to have an SPF. That's a lot of Zinc that seems like overkill to me. I tried the white lucent moisturizer. It is lightweight but I am not in love with what it does to my face. Can anyone recommend a fragrance-free moisturizer that is lightweight and contains no SPF protection or very little?
--closed-- Box of awesome high end items and unicorns, show me yours and I'll show you mine, lol. While I’m not “ancient”, I’ve been on BeautyTalk WAY longer than I ever expected and have made some very good friends….as well as been enabled into getting WAY more makeup, lol. It is getting a bit overwhelming and as much as I like pretty things, my style is more minimalist, so I don’t reaaally need 6 or 7 jars of Guerlain meteorites etc. To help revamp/reorganize my stash as well as having some fun with the awesome friends I’ve made, I’m doing the LUV TB. It contains lots of makeup that I love but never use, altho I couldn’t bear to part with any perfumes or majority of the skincare, so you ladies will have to make up for it along the way. Keep it classy, with high end and preferably new or lightly used things. No drugstores. Since it’s got tons of expensive items, I asked people I trust who are interested, so the box is closed. If it goes well, I may do another one next year when I've accumulated enough treasures. =P Expand below to see the rules, taken from the awesome roxystar4 and slightly simplified: Spoiler (Highlight to read) * Please make sure every item is in a plastic ziplock bag to prevent spills. Yeah I bough a brush totaling $35 and it ended up being awful it sheds like crazy and is no where near as nice as my Real Techniques brushes. I will NOT settle for store credit. I'm a kid so this is a LOOOT of money for me, I absolutely need my cash back. I requested an email receipt because that's most convenient for me. I never got one. What do I do?
The Sephora Favorites line is one of the things I love about Sephora. I've discovered great products that I never thought I would love because of it. I'm glad to see the selection is growing, with more skincare sets added. Regardless, I would love it more if Sephora would make an all-lipstick kit, all-blush kit, or a bronzer-highlighter kit. Maybe a nail product assortment. Whatever it is, I'd be happy to try as long as there is absolutely no Nars Orgasm or Laguna Any suggestions?
Hi everyone, I was wondering if you could help me. My hair are currently slightly curly and I usually straighten them with a hair straighteners. I have heard that there are ways to keep them straight without the need of a hair straighteners but I not too sure where to look at. Could anyone give me any hints on how this work? Many thanks, Mary
I've probably spent the last half hour searching through BT's data base, as i'm trying to decide what skin care items that I want to invest in, when November's 20% off sale rolls around. I've found bits and pieces but nothing concise. My first question is Sunscreen. What kind of skin-protecting product works well under makeup? I just (Sept. 21st) turned 27. (But I still look much younger) And in turn, I'm taking a good hard look at my life as well as my skin care regime and changing what I do not like about it. I've never really used any type of sunscreen product under my makeup. And even though my foundation is spf 15, I do not feel like that it enough. Secondly, Anti-aging skin care products. I'm thinking of trying Murad's "Essential-C" line. I'm trying to start preventative anti-aging care and to heal my skin from my past of dermatillomania. I figured this would kill to birds with one stone? Also here's where the few life questions come in... (location: Ontario,Canada) I want to upgrade my highschool credits ( i graduated when i was 17 but didn't know what i wanted to be when i grew up and honestly just know actually came to a conclusion - it just took me 10 years to figure it out lol) Has anyone upgraded or got new credits before? What site did you use? I think I have to get chemistry, biology and probably math. I want to go to school to become a Vet Tech. Snowboarding. Any advice for a beginner snowboarder? I have never even gone before. I do not have any equipment. I am starting from scratch, so please be gentle lol. Well that's it! I'm not sure where to post this..
