--closed-- Box of awesome high end items and unicorns, show me yours and I'll show you mine, lol. While I’m not “ancient”, I’ve been on BeautyTalk WAY longer than I ever expected and have made some very good friends….as well as been enabled into getting WAY more makeup, lol. It is getting a bit overwhelming and as much as I like pretty things, my style is more minimalist, so I don’t reaaally need 6 or 7 jars of Guerlain meteorites etc. To help revamp/reorganize my stash as well as having some fun with the awesome friends I’ve made, I’m doing the LUV TB. It contains lots of makeup that I love but never use, altho I couldn’t bear to part with any perfumes or majority of the skincare, so you ladies will have to make up for it along the way. Keep it classy, with high end and preferably new or lightly used things. No drugstores. Since it’s got tons of expensive items, I asked people I trust who are interested, so the box is closed. If it goes well, I may do another one next year when I've accumulated enough treasures. =P Expand below to see the rules, taken from the awesome roxystar4 and slightly simplified: Spoiler (Highlight to read) * Please make sure every item is in a plastic ziplock bag to prevent spills. I didn't see anything posted yet about these new palettes, but saw them on Ulta and I'm thinking of using my 20 percent discount to pick one up. A little pricey at $49 each, but it looks like a really nice palette! Top to bottom, they are Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit. Now to decide which one!
Are there any popular brands, sold by Sephora or anywhere else, that you just aren't into or don't consider for whatever reason - consciously or subconsciously? Like, for me, for whatever reason, I don't even know why, I never even look at Make Up Forever or Cover FX... and probably plenty of others. But obviously plenty of people love both brands and promote them when people are looking for products.
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
So I got tired of waiting for Perversion mascara to be available in store and bought the Marc Jacobs Omega Lash. I'm on the fence about it. I do LIKE it but I'm not sure I LOVE it. All things being equal, I probably prefer Too Faced Better than Sex because it gave me more volume and fullness. MJ's gives a ton of length, but I already have super duper crazy long lashes and usually want fullness and volume over lengthening. Having said that I am not one for returning products without a REALLY good reason. I really dislike returns of products done lightly as in the end that drives up prices and is extremely wasteful. I think I should just keep and use the mascara. It's a nice mascara and even though it doesn't blow me away, in 2 months I can justify a new one, and hopefully by then Perversion will be available. I desperately needed a new mascara as my old TFBTS was way old. OK, I think I just talked myself into keeping it. 2 months won't kill me. I know it was pricey at $33 CAD, and if I HATED it then I would return it, but I don't think feeling "meh" about a product justifies returning it. OK, sorry, I didn't really ask a question there so much as I just went through a thought process exercise. :-)
Hi everyone, I could use some major help in trying to find a foundation match. My skin has a definite yellow undertone. When I get matched at Sephora, my result is 3Y05 which matches me with what I currently use, MUFE HD in #120. However, when I went to MAC, I was matched with the Pro Longwear Foundation in NW15. The MUFE foundation clearly has yellow undertones to match, but to me it makes my face look even more yellow. I understand that the NW at MAC means it has pink undertones and is meant for cooler skin, but it seemed to work for me? I don't quite understand which type of undertones I should be looking for and I would like to find a better match for my skin in the MUFE HD foundation. Should I try one that has more of a pink undertone or stay with the yellow that my natural skin tone is? I appreciate any advice!!! Thank you!
Anybody see the pictures!!! Swoon! I've only bought a few Mac products here and there and never a collection. However, the release date is my birthday! (nothing evvverrrr happens on my birthday!) But I really love the smokey-ness to this collection. I have my eye on the "An Amorous Adventure Eyeshadow Quad" the blue swatched is gorgeous! I am not one to buy single shadows endless I hit pan on one in a palette and I really love the colors in this quad! SO what is everyones thoughts about this collection? Anything that's making your Credit card itch to be swiped? Or hide **also did anyone notice that one of the posters manhunks is styled like GOT Khal Drogo?
I have a pretty comfy makeup station and I do love me my products and I pretty much use everything from soup (primer) to nuts (setting spray). But I've noticed that instead of getting faster, I'm just getting slower and sloooower in my makeup application. I really enjoy the process of putting my makeup on - it's probably my favorite part of the day. But I feel like it's taking me a ridiculously long time to do my fairly simple everyday look (I don't vary how I do my makeup TOO much from day-to-day). So I used the timer on my phone for the past three days: 42, 50, and 52 minutes! Yikes! You ladies have seen my makeup. Nothing on my face should take 52 minutes! I know I take a long time doing my eyebrows - they're always a trouble spot for me. I'm going to TRY and speed myself up over the next few days so I can at least have more time to walk my dog in the mornings before work. So I'm curious...how long does it take YOU to do your makeup?
I searched around and saw storage but not many vanities. I just got my vanity in today, I'm probably going to get a chest to store everything else, because these drawers are small! They also don't open all the way. This is my set up for now. Whats your set up like?
Not wanting to swatch lip products directly onto my lips, I found a paint chip that is close in color to my natural lip color to swatch onto. My bare lips have a lot of natural color. This hack works for me about 95% of the time. This is also good for determining coverage and pigmentation. Hope this is helpful.
Is anyone else drooling over this new palette by Makeup Forever? It looks gorgeous. I'm also intrigued because I've never tried MUFE eyeshadows (other than a cream eyeshadow I have). I think I read that all these shades are available to purchase separately from their new line of shadows. If anyone here gets it, please swatch and share! Has anyone tried the new MUFE eyeshadows yet? This gets me excited about fall clothes and boots!!! http://www.sephora.com/artist-palette-P388223?skuI d=1622885
I don't know if any of you ladies know about this but Sonia Kashuk just came out with a LE 15 piece brush set in celebration of their 15th anniversary. I just picked up the last one in my town today during my lunch break. I personally think this is a steal. It is $40 at Target. If you can find it, I suggest to get it right there and then because this set is sold out almost everywhere and each Target in the US and Canada each get 2 sets. Go on to Target's website and use the "find in a Target store" and click on "pick up in store" if it shows up to reserve it. Sonia Kashuk is trying to keep it in stock but it keeps selling out. This set will be available until October according to their customer service line. If anyone wants to know how they perform, let me know and I will do a small review here on BT.
With the Rouge Event just around the corner, and money to be spent, heres my list! My current (it could grow) wishlist : With so many holding off on purchasing, and the 4x point reward, I'd love to see what people have their eye on or what they plan on hauling at the event! So....Whats on your list?!
does anyone want anastasia brow powder? I have in ebony or brunette. I hardly used them I also have illamasqua brow powder in vehement. They are free...I will ship them to u...no strings attached! I just don't want them to be a waste since I found my go to brow gel now.
Hi all ! I know that August is one of the best times to shop at Sephora because of the great perks, extra points and all those goodies. Has anybody heard anything about this yet? Any posters or in-store sightings? I'm so excited and we're one week away and I haven't heard anything yet! Ah !!! Doesn't 2x, 3x, or 4x (depending on membership) sound awesome? I really hope that Sephora hasn't forgotten...Hoping for bigger and better things this year, not to say that last years wasn't too shabby itself. Let's end this with a question: Q: What was your favorite perk/part/time of August Appreciation Month? My answer: I love the whole month, even though promos change weekly, I loved the VIB Bag w/samples and the 3x points, pretty sweet
*Apologies if someone has posted about this already, I did a search but didn't see anything. Just finished watching Caroline Hirons new video (I know she is a rather "polarizing" guru but that's besides the point!) and she mentioned as one of her recent skincare favorites the new Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser. I hadn't even heard of this yet so I did a search and found it on Sephora's site! No reviews there yet so I wanted to come over to BT to see if any of you have seen/heard of/tried this yet! It looks amazing, and I am a huge fan of the Pure Truth line in general. It's also not terribly expensive compared to some other cleansing balms (which this seems to be similar to). http://www.sephora.com/pure-truth-tm-melting-clean ser-P388265 It has vitamin C, rose hip oil, and like the rest of his products no sulfates/parabens. Thoughts??
This is my second order of Give Me Some Lip. My fav is the full size Smashbox with the cushy paddle like applicator and the Buxom with a great tingle feeling. Anyone else have this set? What do you think beauties?
Hello! I'm currently looking for an eye cream to incorporate into my skincare regimen. I'm almost 20 and don't have any specific concerns with my eyes. I've tried a few samples from different brands (Kiehl's, Chanel, Sephora), that target a specific eye concern, but nothing has wowed me. Though I find eye creams to be a bit of a drag, I realize and understand the importance of having an eye cream I can use daily. Suggestions and helpful feedback is greatly appreciated!
Hi, I'm 26 years old and have normal/combination skin with occasional breakouts. Although I'm not at the point of having wrinkles or fine lines, I've always read that you should start using anti-wrinkle and/or anti-aging products in your 20s before any of those issues come up. So I'm thinking of starting to use something, but I honestly have no idea what I'm doing and I need some help. I don't know what kind of ingredients to look for, stay away from, etc. I'm really not looking to get an entire new skincare routine. I already have one that my dermatologist has recommended and has been working for me for years. I'm more interested in a single product that I can use along with my normal cleanser and moisturizer to help stave off any signs of aging. What are your thoughts? Any product recommendations? I'd love to hear them!
I've traditionally used Clinique because it's hypoallergenic but am still having sensitivity issues. My skin stays red and irritated, and frequently peels or is oily (or both at the same time... which I didn't know was possible). I also have a problem with clogged pores and am allergic to a lot of fragrances. Anyone have recommendations, please??
Does anyone have experience with Make Up For Ever Super Matte Setting Powder and/or CoverFX Matte Setting Powder? I'm trying to find a product for a person who lives in a humid area of the South. Early 20's, acne-prone skin, med-dark skin tone. Has anyone found either of these powders to be too flat? Any other comments on them?
