Hey BTers! I decided to start at new haul thread for the month June. I love seeing everyone's hauls.Share what goodies you got this month. (beauty and non-beauty) Remember guys a haul is a haul big or small.
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
Hey Beauties ! I was just here thinking and browsing the Sephora site along with my collection and it made me think about some stuff that just wasn't worth all the hype or wasn't all that . Most recently for me it has been the Benefit There Real Push up liner, it just wasn't a good consistency in my opinion and i totally could have done without it but anyway i thought i would start the discussion of what products have you purchased that wasn't worth the hype or you regret getting
Does this look familiar to anyone? I found a post about this on INMYKIT on facebook. Benefit claims that the They're Real Push Up Liner is the first ever lash hugging gel eyeliner in a pen. However, that Maybelline pen gel eyeliner was released in 2013 . It's only available in Asian countries, I think. I'm not sure whether Benefit is claiming to be the first lash hugging gel eyeliner pen, or just the first gel eyeliner pen in general. What do you think? Did Benefit copy Maybelline?
Sephora posted a few videos and he seems to talk more about the packaging than the product itself. He seems kinda clueless about his stuff in fact. Or in my opinion he does. Does he actually know about the actual makeup or just the packaging? If just feels awkward watching him and it seems like hes trying to figure out what to say about the product. What do yall think?
I've been fairly lucky in finding HQ brushes in my go-to blushes. They've held up nice, don't shed and blend nicely. But I just bought a CHANEL blush recently and the brush is GARBAGE and now I'm looking for a good brush. I only use powder blushes, but could use a recommendation of something I could find at either Sephora or at a department store - I'm not interested in ordering online from Japan or Korea or something along those lines. Whaddaya got ladies and gents?
I've shopped at the outlets hundreds of times but never stopped into this store. Tonight I decided to browse around and had no idea they carried brands like Mac, Smashbox, Originis, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Clinique. The prices were pretty good. I noticed the Smashbox hydrating primer I normally pay $42 was only $24. Has anyone shopped there? I'm curious if these are old expired products.
After getting a summer job and making some pretty good money so far, I decided I want to splurge on my first high end product. I wasn't sure at first but then decided on purchasing the Meteorites from all your reviews. Are the"magic balls" worth getting for sure? Thank you!!
Hey everyone! I'm a teenage guy and I love skincare. I'm starting to get into very natural looking makeup just to conceal and even out some redness. Im very excited to be part of this forum! I get very passionate about this stuff! I just love it. I want to work in the beauty industry after I graduate!
Hi everyone! So it's been, like forever, since I last posted on here. Oh, how I've missed this beauty realm! Anyway, I have an interesting topic I'd like to share and hear your thoughts on! I grew up as the niece of a Mary Kay consultant, and from day one I was always told that every beauty regimen consisted of "cleansing, toning, and moisturizing". In attempts to combat my acne-prone skin, I researched and researched the best ways to achieve clear skin and realized that toning isn't always the key to healthy, acne-free skin--everyone's skin is different, and sometimes being too harsh or using products that are too drying can actually CAUSE acne. I had finally found a routine and products that worked and, through trial-and-error, discovered ingredients that aggravate my skin (which I now avoid). Before, I had been using Murad's AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser twice a day (I can already hear the gasps) and my skin was clearer than it had been in a while and my skin seemed to tolerate the exfoliation. However, I'm moving to Florida in three weeks and was just recently there to scout out the area. MAN, had I forgotten how HOT, HUMID, and MUGGY it is! Phew!! Guess what happened? Of course my skin was constantly oily, and instantly began to break out. And my Murad cleanser instantly seemed to stop helping and began aggravating my skin. So when I returned home (Ohio), I realized that I really need to rethink my skincare routine and LISTEN to my skin. ANYWAY, long story short, I re-visited my toner, Sea Breeze Original Formula. I used this long ago, but stopped due to the fact that I was afraid of drying out my skin too much and therefore causing my skin to produce too much oil and therefore creating acne. **ugh, the deadly cycle**. So I've been using a gentle cleanser morning and night, followed by my Sea Breeze toner (I hate that they call it an *astringent*...it sounds so....harsh), followed by a gentle, basic moisturizer or my beloved Argan Oil. Honestly, my skin improved overnight. So I wondered, am I really CLEANING my skin enough? Today, I experimented with just that! I had nothing to do today (and by nothing, I mean NOTHING!) So that meant no makeup, nada. I cleansed, toned, and moisturized this morning at around 9:00. It's 7:00 pm now and I was feeling grimy, so I cleansed my face then just took a few cotton rounds and toner and swiped them on my face. OH. MY. GOSH....THE DIRT!!! It's unbelievable!! And this is from literally doing anything and not wearing any makeup!!! I'm just stunned by how much dirt and grime my toner and cotton pad were able to pick up, and it has really made me reconsider the methods in which we "clean" our face. I know toners aren't for everyone, and I've been against them ever since I did my research on clearing acne-prone skin. But my golly, I'm just stunned so I had to share this with you all, pictures included!! I used it several times, the first cotton round being the first swipe, and the last one being a clean, un-used one (just so you can see the difference). How do you feel about toners, and if you use 'em, which ones do you prefer? P.S. Sorry for the super. Incredibly. Long. Post. It's been way too long, and I felt the need to be thorough. Plus, as I said, I had NOTHING to do today, which equals boredom. Which equals this post.
I am sure we all have some products that we use the most and then we "run" to Sephora (or other stores) to repurchase and stock up on it, with a thought - "Just in case or I am about to finish up my other one, so I might as well pick up a back up now... etc" . What are your most used products, the ones you know you'll go and repurchase no matter what? Mine are: - Anastasia Brow Wiz - ohh boy - this is one of my little fave things that I use the most and I buy few of them a year, just because I use it so often. - Nars Creamy Consealer - does its job, so smooth and gives me the coverage I need! - When Travelmate face masque <3 - so amazing, portable, and travel safe/mess free!!
Hey everyone, I thought it would be a good idea if we did YouTube Tags on BT because it's really fun and some of them are actually very helpful. There are bunch of beauty related ones out there ( Beauty Scenario, Perfect Palette, Lip Addict, etc.)we could do or we could even makeup our own! To start off, I am going to do the Would You Rather Tag! Questions: 1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows? I would rather lose all of my eyeliners because I rarely wear eyeliner, and I can just use eyeshadow as a liner. 2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again? I would chop off all my hair because it would grow back eventually, but I can't imagine myself with a wedding train of hair. 3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek? Definitely pink because I actually get tired of corals and they are not as flattering on me. 4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup? If I could, I would definitely split the money between the two, but if I had to choose one! probably clothes because different outfits are more noticeable and will probably make a bigger difference in my overall appearance. Anyway, I don't have enough clothes LOL 5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick? I would apply lipstick as eyeliner-no reason for this one other than that it sounds more comfortable. Although ,it's probably not very safe.... 6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora? Definitely Sephora because there are more choices as far as brands, types, and colors. 7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life? One lip color for sure because I loveee eyeshadow, and I can't imagine wearing only one color! Anyway, I just wear tinted lip balm most of the time. 8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter? I think I would rather wear summer clothes in the winter if it means I can wear tights and a coat. If I can't even wear a coat, then I would wear winter clothes in the summer and just camp out by the AC 9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round? Definitely dark nails because they are more likely to go with everything, and neons don't even look that good on me. 10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product? Again, I choose eyes over lips, so I would give up my favorite lip product. 11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun? I would prefer to wear a ponytail only if I could straighten my hair everyday. Otherwise, my hair looks so frizzy and messy in a ponytail :/ 12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss? I don't really paint my nails that often because I have really ugly nails, but I am working on getting them to a better shape, so I would choose never to wear lipgloss. Sigh 13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday? If they mean sharpie them in as in fill them in, then I would choose that, but I would never use an ACTUAL sharpie LOL In that case, I would have no brows and spend a lot of time filling them in regularly. 14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish? I would definitely choose makeup over nail polish because makeup is way more fun for me, and I don't have the nails for nail polish!
Got an email today (July 6) that the Marc Jacobs Fall Beauty Collection will be available for early access tomorrow at 9 AM PST! It arrives in stores on July 24th. There are a couple previews on the Marc Jacobs Beauty site right now (which I can't link to, obviously) that look pretty interesting. I hope they've come up with a better mascara this time around!
I was just looking through the "What Are You Wearing" thread and looking through the list of products I suddenly realized I very rarely use concealer under my eyes anymore. It used to be one those "will not leave the without it" items. It got me thinking back to a moment many, many, MANY years ago at a Clinique counter... I can't remember what I was shopping for (probably super double face powder because that was my HG back then. I think I was around 20 when this story happened - I'm 39 now for reference.) So anyway, the sales lady was trying to upsell me on a bunch more products of course (which, I was 20 and in college - good luck getting blood from that stone, lady) and this is what she said to me word-for-word: "Honey, you're gorgeous but those dark circles are distracting me from the rest of your face." Whhaaaaattt??? I honestly can't remember how I reacted or if I bought the product I went in for originally. I know that I did NOT buy any concealer though! Have a couple more to post but BT is being super iPad unfriendly lately! I don't want to open up any wounds with this post. Just hopefully dumb stuff SAs have said to you that you can look back on and laugh about now!
We had triple points on fragrance in both February and May and double points on skincare in January. Then, 15% off during Chic Week in April. Sephora Friends and Family is in October and then slowly VIB/Rouge/BI's are given a 20% discount in November. I've already used my annual 10% VIB renewal discount. So, here I sit in the month of July sure there has to be something coming, because that is a big time gap until the next fabulous promotion. I've been searching and see each August, Sephora has done something fun (2011 VIB weekend was every Rouge's DREAM!). Last year looks like it was a double point situation to celebrate the new BI program. Please fill in the blanks, where you see them! I'm ready to make a bigger purchase, but am holding off for some perks!
I'm interested in trying the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush, but I'm unsure of which color to buy. I have blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin. I am a little tanner than usual at the moment, but I'd like something that will work in the summer months as well. Any suggestions?
Hi, I am looking for a new skincare line and so far am interested in either Nude, Boscia, REN, Ole Henriksen, Korres, or Caudalie. I am overwhelmed by reviews online and all the information. My main concerns are minimizing pores and getting rid of blackheads, moisturizing, and preventing wrinkles (I am 30 and mainly have wrinkes around my eyes). I also plan to get the Clarisonic Mia 2 to use with the cleanser. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks
I posted a thread about removing my makeup/washing face with dry skin a while back. A lot of folks recommended cleansing water. Also, many threads recommend cleansing water, especially Koh Gen Doh. So I finally placed an order for cleansing water (Claudalie since I love everything I try by them) and got it. I've used it a couple of times and do like how refreshing it feels but I have no clue if I'm using it the right way! Currently, I come home and use a cotton round with the cleansing water and proceed to wipe my face with it. I don't use it for eye makeup if I wore eye makeup I use a separate eye makeup remover first (with a cotton ball) and then proceed with Claudalie Cleansing Water. Am I supposed to rinse my face with regular water afterwards or is the wipeout by itself just fine? I will tell you that I've tried both and the time I rinsed with water afterwards, my face was so dry. The time I didn't, my face had a nice dewy glow. But I don't want to leave it on if it's not meant to be left on. HELP!!!
As far as using makeup goes, I am a complete noobie, but I have really sensitive eyes (get real red and puffy, very itchy and watery, not fun) and I have no idea which kinds of products would work for me. And any other advice would also be awesome, considering I'm a teenager who has no idea what she is doing, and does not want to look like a raccoon or like they let a kindergartner draw on their face. Thanks so much!
We swatched all of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments to see how the colors looked on different skin tones. What do you think?
Do you have a swatch of this product? Post a pic in the thread below!

Is there a product either cream or wipe that will reduce redness immediately after working out? I have very light skin and when I workout I get very red and it can take 30-40 mins post workout to get back to normal. I would love to find a product that would help reduce that time frame to make working out over lunch and prior to work in the morning easier. Would love suggestions.
Hey guys, so I am taking a math mini-mester now plus I am working about 30 hours a week. I'm in class 9 hours per week plus long nights of homework since an entire semester is being crammed into 4 weeks. I have to wake up super early for class and I'm at work late at night, so I'm not getting enough sleep. My under eye circles are awful to say the least, and I'm breaking out a bit in my T-zone. Is there anything from anywhere that'll help with the stress causing my skin to freak out? My skin is pretty normal, not oily or dry really. It can be from anywhere?! Or any suggestions?
I love the matte look, something very long lasting and full coverage. I live in DC, extreme weather, humidity and cold. I've heard the Tarte Amazonion 12 hour coverage is a must try. Is this worth all the hype? I've tried Urban Decay, both MAFU brands, as well as MAC and even drugstore Rimmel. How does Tarte compare? Any thoughts, ladies? <3
Hi dolls, I posted this picture on another thread , but I think everyone needs to see this rose gold gorgeous-ness! It's exclusive to Boots (in the UK) so mark your calendars for July 16th (; I probably won't even use them that much...it's just too pretty to pass on.
