It's July!!! Time to start a new thread for all the amazing July hauls from you guys! Please post all your hauls, big or small, beauty or non-beauty...can't wait to see them all!! To start us off - here is a tiny sample haul from Dr. Hauschka
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
I was just looking through the "What Are You Wearing" thread and looking through the list of products I suddenly realized I very rarely use concealer under my eyes anymore. It used to be one those "will not leave the without it" items. It got me thinking back to a moment many, many, MANY years ago at a Clinique counter... I can't remember what I was shopping for (probably super double face powder because that was my HG back then. I think I was around 20 when this story happened - I'm 39 now for reference.) So anyway, the sales lady was trying to upsell me on a bunch more products of course (which, I was 20 and in college - good luck getting blood from that stone, lady) and this is what she said to me word-for-word: "Honey, you're gorgeous but those dark circles are distracting me from the rest of your face." Whhaaaaattt??? I honestly can't remember how I reacted or if I bought the product I went in for originally. I know that I did NOT buy any concealer though! Have a couple more to post but BT is being super iPad unfriendly lately! I don't want to open up any wounds with this post. Just hopefully dumb stuff SAs have said to you that you can look back on and laugh about now!
Hey BTers! I decided to start at new haul thread for the month June. I love seeing everyone's hauls.Share what goodies you got this month. (beauty and non-beauty) Remember guys a haul is a haul big or small.
I went to SiJCP in search of Beauty spatulas. They were also having a Benefit They're Real liner event, and I was interested in getting a custom skincare kit. The first lady I talked to had no idea what spatulas I was referring to (come to find out she was not really helpful at all will explain later). Gabbi came over and showed me to the spatulas. I got the last ones. She confirmed they are not coming back in stock, which I knew thanks to the lovely Randee. I asked her if I could participate in the They're Real liner event. She grabbed the tester and started sanitizing it. I informed her that I would rather not have that put on my eyes even with sanitation and would just prefer to use the sample they were giving out for my eyes. Apparently, they ran out the first day of the event (whenever that was). That was odd, because I overheard a different associate talking about a headpiece she was wearing and she said Benefit sent them a bunch of stuff for the event. I almost said but refrained that it would have been nice if they sent more liner. I could not care less about their fancy accessories, but I would have liked to try the liner. I cannot be the only one who does not want the tester to touch my eyes. I saw the tip, and I doubt alcohol could sanitize it well enough. I needed $45 to qualify for Rouge, so I figured I might as well go for it. There were nowhere near enough spatulas alone to get me there, so I found a few other items. I wanted a custom skincare kit, but they were fresh out. When the first lady scanned me up, she said I re-qualified for VIB. Correction, that was months ago. She called another employee (the one who was loving the Benefit accessories) over and she concurred that my Rouge status would not be effective yet, because my last purchase was less than 24 hours ago. It updated online already, so I thought that was weird. Anyway, I told her just to ring up the spatulas. I did ask her for samples, and she gave me the Murad one and the Philosophy perfume. Two more than I ever get in a freestanding store. On my way out, I noticed a sale section that has some of the same items in the website's sales section, but the prices were better. I grabbed a few. This time, Gabbi checked me out. She mentioned that I was $9 and some change off from Rouge, which was odd because I thought the items would have gotten me there. I added one more item on to get me over. Yay. I made Rouge. She insisted on finding me a kit with a lipstick, which was very nice of her. At first she mentioned getting me a mirror, but she said they were out. A completely different lady told her she should give me a packet full of samples, which she did! I was very happy about that. When I got home, I noticed that the Beauty insider account number on the spatula receipt was not even mine. I wish I would have noticed when I was in the store. It makes sense now that I think about it, because there is no way I would just be qualifying for VIB. I hope whoever I qualified is grateful I got her/him there. However, I want the purchase transferred to my account, so I sent Randee a pm. Gabbi put the second purchase on my Beauty insider account, so I would have qualified the first time if the unhelpful lady would have used my account. I am actually glad it worked out the way it did. I doubt I would have stopped by the sales section had I already qualified. The lady who suggested I get the bag of Rouge samples was not at the register the first time either, so I would have missed those as well. That lady never even heard me ask for samples, so it was so nice of her to offer them out of the blue. Overall, I rate my first experience a B (taking points off for having a They're Real event without samples they are advertising, and ringing me up on the wrong Beauty Insider account despite giving her my VIB card). I cannot really hold the lack of skincare samplers against them as items sell out when they're good. One final thought, I am glad I saw the Divergent polish in person and never ordered it first. As I never return anything, I would have been mighty upset that two of the colors were grossly separated, and I could not shake them back to normal (yes I tried, because all 6 polishes were on sale for $5.99)!
Hey Beauties ! I was just here thinking and browsing the Sephora site along with my collection and it made me think about some stuff that just wasn't worth all the hype or wasn't all that . Most recently for me it has been the Benefit There Real Push up liner, it just wasn't a good consistency in my opinion and i totally could have done without it but anyway i thought i would start the discussion of what products have you purchased that wasn't worth the hype or you regret getting
Details: The new store opened in Garden City Center in Cranston, Rhode Island. They opened at 10:00. I got there about 10:10 and there were already lots of people in the store and arriving. I was glad to see they were getting a good response. Everything was so pristine!!! Brand new, untouched items for testers. Perfectly spotless shopping baskets. I wished everything could stay perfect like that. The Sephora staffers were very friendly and helpful. I got lots of individual help trying products, getting advice, and so on. The store was offering a very nice gift with a $50 purchase. It was a (boxed, with cards) Alex and Ani bracelet. I think this was a great choice for 2 reasons: - Alex and Ani is a Rhode Island-based company and their flagship store is right next to Garden City Center. - The bangle was the “Arms of Strength” Charity by Design starfish bracelet. The starfish has a pretty pink BCA crystal on it. A&A gives 20% of the proceeds from the bracelet to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. This is another local, Rhode Island organization. (There were representatives from the foundation at the opening, and info was put in the Sephora bags.) I absolutely love that the store picked a promotion that benefits charity, and that they worked with local companies. This was so much nicer than if they had given away some “made in China” plastic doodad that said Sephora on it. Well done! :-) There wasn’t anything specifically for Rouges, such as a preview party, and so on. But the bracelet promo was great. (And I loved that it is silver toned, so it goes with my other A&A bracelets!) All in all, I really liked the store and staff.
Not sure if this is allowed? But I'm going to give it a shot and hope it doesn't get closed *covers eyes* What's on everyone's wish list for this sale? The sale started yesterday for card holders and will be available starting July 18! I'm having a hard time in finding anything I like on the previews I've seen so far! But I really want this!
I searched around and saw storage but not many vanities. I just got my vanity in today, I'm probably going to get a chest to store everything else, because these drawers are small! They also don't open all the way. This is my set up for now. Whats your set up like?
I got the kiss pop I ordered in the mail today... Definitely not what I was expecting. On first looks, the packaging is super cute and feels very high quality. I ordered crush, which was described as a tangerine red, and all I'm seeing is tangerine. I'm very pale, and this comes out as a true orange on me in natural light. But mostly, this is far from moisturizing, in my opinion. It nearly crumbled when I applied it, and already my lips feel dry. I'll wear it around the apartment tonight, but I'm not so sure this will be staying. what are everyone else's thoughts on these?
Well that was the most depressing hour of my life. I decided to google "beauty over 50" and I just feel like shooting myself lol. Apparently I'm supposed to wear tinted moisturizer (no foundation), 1-2 at most neutral eye shadows (no color under any circumstances) and forget about lipstick with color. Yes maam - keep that whole face as boring as neutral as possible. You guys have no idea how this does NOT jive with my personality. I've worn makeup my entire life and I cannot tell you how often I've had ppl come up to me if I'm at a makeup counter and ask me for advice because they thought I worked there. I understand at my ripe old age of 50 I shouldn't be glowing in the dark decked out with sparkles and glitter but my God, I just bought the Marc Jacobs Siren palette and I love it!! But apparently I should gather up all my non neutral makeup and bury it in the backyard. Say it isn't so.
I found out this weekend that my sister uses regular body lotion for her face and St Ives scrub and some other face scrub everyday. She has extremely oily skin and I suspect all these products make her face even oilier. Apparently she had a bad experience with a Lancome face moisturizer because it made her break out so she doesnt feel any mid to high end products will be any good since Lancome didnt work out for her. With that said, can anyone suggest drugstore (she doesnt want to spend a ton of money right off the bat) moisturizer? Any suggestions for a cleanser for oily skin that will thoroughly clean her face without containing exfoliating scrubs? She feels that any face wash without the exfoliating scrubs dont clean her face very well. Thanks for your help!
I have one eyebrow blonde like really blonde and I have the only one kind of blackish brownish I can't help it I was born this way I know weird lol!. I refuse to die it just because you know how us girls are once we do something permanent we regret it later. My problem is that everytime i try to match the blonde one with the blackish brown one they still never look the same color i try the color brunette and they still do not look the same with filling them in. So if someone can please help I'd appreciate it.
I bought the Murad spot treatment and let's just say my blemish is now the least of my worries. I'm allergic to something in it and now have a red raised rash that looks like a million tiny little pimples. Uuuugh
Hey all, I need recommendations on a skincare routine. I have oily skin, and there has been times that I breakout. I'm not sure if it's because I don't cleanse my skin well, or if it's just the foundation that I use. So far I wash my face every morning and night. I use Philosophy to take off my makeup first, then I use the clarisonic gel cleanser with the clarisonic machine which I love. Is there something I'm missing ? How do you care for your oily skin ?
I have oily/acne prone skin, I've been breaking out a lot lately. I get a lot of cyst like too and brown spot discoloration afterwards. What is the best acne cleanser and spot treatment? I'm older and it's quite embarrassing for me. I'm getting frustrated. I've tried dermatologist and honestly it's been a waste of my money. I've tried p.t.Roth, ddf, murad... help please!

Does anybody know a good concealer that covers dark under-eye circles and doesnt crease? I am fair skin toned and currently use cliniques line smoothing concealer, but it still creases under my eyes even when I use a setting powder on top.
So tomorrow, I was going to buy Lingerie de Peau & try the Meteorite in stores to see if I like them enough to buy them. BUT, I think I took for granted that because this is such a high end product, it did not contain talc. But it does! I am shocked. I'm not paying 60+$ for some pretty pearls made of talc. Is this just me or what? I never had problem with talk, and I wouldn't mind it too much if it was a 25$ powder, but for the price I'm paying, it better be talc free. Is is just me or if sometimes, luxury brands are a little behind in terms of ingredients and all? What are your thoughts?

I am a 20 year old college student and am going on a semester long study abroad trip to Europe this fall, and would like suggestions for a quick, easy, and long-lasting face makeup routine? Also, I have acne prone and dry skin, so I would need products that cover my blemishes, would not worsen acne, and would moisturize my skin. Thank you!
I feel like this is a palette that is an all-around favorite for a lot of people (other than a few people that I've seen who complain about the smell). I regret buying it a lot, though. I'm honestly not sure what it is about it, but I can't seem to get it to work for me no matter what I do. The shadows are pretty pigmented, though some of them are useless to me because they're essentially just different shades of slightly sheer white. I just can't seem to make any decent looks with it. Anyone else finding it less than awesome, or have any suggestions for looks?
Hey everyone! I'm a teenage guy and I love skincare. I'm starting to get into very natural looking makeup just to conceal and even out some redness. Im very excited to be part of this forum! I get very passionate about this stuff! I just love it. I want to work in the beauty industry after I graduate!
I was wondering what product I should try next because I've used 2 eyebrow pencils: the anastasia brow wiz which lasted about 3 months for me but it started giving me dry spots on my eyebrows? i thought that wasn't a long period of time especially considering the price so i ended up purchasing the Nars brow perfector. I like the formula better but i've only used it for about a month and it looks like i only have a week to two weeks of product left. I thought it would last longer cause it has more than double the product as the anastasia brow wiz? I was wondering what product I should use next. I'm thinking about the anastasia dipbrow but that seems a bit complicated as i've only used pencils so far.
So I have been experimenting with liquid eyeliners for a little bit and have been trying some that really haven't been working out for me lately. I first tried Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner and it was a deep dark black and it went on very nice and glossy (which I like) but the felt tip began to come off in little balls and whenever going over the line it would remove the liner . I have been also using the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and that is a brush tip which I have found is better than the Stila at application but again has been taking away the liner if you are to go over it a second time. I'm looking for a pen type eyeliner which a semi-glossy finish that doesn't wear off or take away the line when going over it and is good for cateye/winged eyeliner. Has anyone tried the Alexa Chung Eye do Liquid Eyeliner, I heard that was good but I'm not entirely sure.
