Sephora posted a few videos and he seems to talk more about the packaging than the product itself. He seems kinda clueless about his stuff in fact. Or in my opinion he does. Does he actually know about the actual makeup or just the packaging? If just feels awkward watching him and it seems like hes trying to figure out what to say about the product. What do yall think?
Hi, I feel like I always choose blush colors that are too light (aka Nars Sex Appeal) that just disappear on my skin. Any recommendations for Auburn hair, Hazel eyes, Yellow/Neutral undertones, Very fair, slightly ruddy???!!!! THANKS!!!
hi! funny-- though i am turning 17 in less than two months i have not yet begun to wear makeup. i have dark brown hair, eyes and fairly dark coloring (always attempting to tan ). i am looking for a sophisticated, simple, a touch more than natural look (i dont find the purple eyeshadow, pink cheeks and lips attractive) for a makeup design. if you have the time, what do you recommend?
I am in my early 30s and am starting to notice that my eyelids are beginning to droop a bit. The skin isn't as tight as it used to be and my makeup doesn't come out as well as it used to (the shadow in the crease). I used the search bar, and the answers were from 2010-2012, nothing too recent (there may be new products?). I know there are no miracle products, but can anyone suggest an eye cream/serum that will help to prevent future eyelid sagging? Thanks!
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
Hi ladies I am looking to switch up my hair from drugstore brands that I have tried in the past and was looking for some advice. I currently have medium length hair that I am growing out over the summer. My hair is constantly dry no matter what I am using to clean it and lately has felt always greasy too. Recently I have been switching between different brands once they start to leave my hair so greasy and lacking in moisture. I also itch a lot on my scalp which seems really weird. I have gone between Paul Mitchell, Garnier to the Loreal line and at this point I am ready to get something better. I have tried everything so I am thinking it is time to have a salon quality routine now. I have thick, coarse, dry hair that I do color twice a year at most. I would really love shiny, healthy hair that doesn't look so dry and damaged all the time.
After getting a summer job and making some pretty good money so far, I decided I want to splurge on my first high end product. I wasn't sure at first but then decided on purchasing the Meteorites from all your reviews. Are the"magic balls" worth getting for sure? Thank you!!
Mac is launching this in August. By the way, if anyone wants to look like Marge Simpson, just apply some turmeric spice as a mask onto your face. That stuff won't come off for a while lol I made that mistake.
My Local Sephora is usually fantastic, never had a complaint about them... until today. I returned 5 products in-store today.. from 4 separate purchases I made during spring fling. 2 unused and unopened... and 3 products I really disliked. So the teller calls over the manager because it is a larger return, which I totally understand.. The manager looks at me and says.. You want to return all of these, you used them all.. and are returning them? Don't you know you can get samples so you don't waste so much product." and gives me an eye roll and a condescending look. So I tell her that 2 are unused and the other 3 products were all skin care and did not work for my skin.. I thought used products that didn't work were able to be returned.. Is this not the case? Or does everyone, get a lecture when they return a product used? Curious if you guys make returns of used products? I personally am really turned off getting samples from jars and such because people are constantly putting their dirty hands in to the product and them I am supposed to put that on my face. Just a gross thought for me. Am I wrong in returning used Skincare?
Well that was the most depressing hour of my life. I decided to google "beauty over 50" and I just feel like shooting myself lol. Apparently I'm supposed to wear tinted moisturizer (no foundation), 1-2 at most neutral eye shadows (no color under any circumstances) and forget about lipstick with color. Yes maam - keep that whole face as boring as neutral as possible. You guys have no idea how this does NOT jive with my personality. I've worn makeup my entire life and I cannot tell you how often I've had ppl come up to me if I'm at a makeup counter and ask me for advice because they thought I worked there. I understand at my ripe old age of 50 I shouldn't be glowing in the dark decked out with sparkles and glitter but my God, I just bought the Marc Jacobs Siren palette and I love it!! But apparently I should gather up all my non neutral makeup and bury it in the backyard. Say it isn't so.
It's July!!! Time to start a new thread for all the amazing July hauls from you guys! Please post all your hauls, big or small, beauty or non-beauty...can't wait to see them all!! To start us off - here is a tiny sample haul from Dr. Hauschka
Hi i have normal to dry skin , some large pores on nose area, and do have some fines line as well the 11 lines and deep lines around mouth area, also have some neck lines. can someone suggest a good line for this age?
I have purchased products from Sephora in store and used my card each time. But it says my point balance is $0 and that I have no transaction history. The first purchase I made was in the US and thats when I signed up for the Beauty Insider program, but they said it was okay that I live in Canada and that it would still work when I shopped at Canadian Stores.
I'm looking for the perfect foundation! I have combination skin.. Can any one give me any suggestions in foundations? I've tried one brand which is not a Sephora brand, I've heard plenty of good reviews on Sephora make up. Thanks Paige
Hi everyone! So it's been, like forever, since I last posted on here. Oh, how I've missed this beauty realm! Anyway, I have an interesting topic I'd like to share and hear your thoughts on! I grew up as the niece of a Mary Kay consultant, and from day one I was always told that every beauty regimen consisted of "cleansing, toning, and moisturizing". In attempts to combat my acne-prone skin, I researched and researched the best ways to achieve clear skin and realized that toning isn't always the key to healthy, acne-free skin--everyone's skin is different, and sometimes being too harsh or using products that are too drying can actually CAUSE acne. I had finally found a routine and products that worked and, through trial-and-error, discovered ingredients that aggravate my skin (which I now avoid). Before, I had been using Murad's AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser twice a day (I can already hear the gasps) and my skin was clearer than it had been in a while and my skin seemed to tolerate the exfoliation. However, I'm moving to Florida in three weeks and was just recently there to scout out the area. MAN, had I forgotten how HOT, HUMID, and MUGGY it is! Phew!! Guess what happened? Of course my skin was constantly oily, and instantly began to break out. And my Murad cleanser instantly seemed to stop helping and began aggravating my skin. So when I returned home (Ohio), I realized that I really need to rethink my skincare routine and LISTEN to my skin. ANYWAY, long story short, I re-visited my toner, Sea Breeze Original Formula. I used this long ago, but stopped due to the fact that I was afraid of drying out my skin too much and therefore causing my skin to produce too much oil and therefore creating acne. **ugh, the deadly cycle**. So I've been using a gentle cleanser morning and night, followed by my Sea Breeze toner (I hate that they call it an *astringent*...it sounds so....harsh), followed by a gentle, basic moisturizer or my beloved Argan Oil. Honestly, my skin improved overnight. So I wondered, am I really CLEANING my skin enough? Today, I experimented with just that! I had nothing to do today (and by nothing, I mean NOTHING!) So that meant no makeup, nada. I cleansed, toned, and moisturized this morning at around 9:00. It's 7:00 pm now and I was feeling grimy, so I cleansed my face then just took a few cotton rounds and toner and swiped them on my face. OH. MY. GOSH....THE DIRT!!! It's unbelievable!! And this is from literally doing anything and not wearing any makeup!!! I'm just stunned by how much dirt and grime my toner and cotton pad were able to pick up, and it has really made me reconsider the methods in which we "clean" our face. I know toners aren't for everyone, and I've been against them ever since I did my research on clearing acne-prone skin. But my golly, I'm just stunned so I had to share this with you all, pictures included!! I used it several times, the first cotton round being the first swipe, and the last one being a clean, un-used one (just so you can see the difference). How do you feel about toners, and if you use 'em, which ones do you prefer? P.S. Sorry for the super. Incredibly. Long. Post. It's been way too long, and I felt the need to be thorough. Plus, as I said, I had NOTHING to do today, which equals boredom. Which equals this post.
I am in search of a skin care routine that will even out my skin tone (redness in my cheeks I have had all of my life as well as acne scars). I am interested in finding a routine that includes all of the works (cleanser, toner, serums, etc) for what might work for my combination skin. I am in my mid-20s and concerned about aging so I would like the moisturizer to include SPF for day wear.
Every time I do liquid liner or gel liner and I do a wing, when I open my eye the wing gets cut off and it looks weird and it annoys me. I don't know if it has to do with the shape of my eye or how i'm doing the wing but how can I prevent this from happening so the wing doesn't get cut off and so i can actually see it?
Once I get the box back I'll pick out some items and donate the remaining items to 'The River' (a local organization that takes and redistributes new and used makeup/beauty items to women in need). I'm interested in trying the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush, but I'm unsure of which color to buy. I have blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin. I am a little tanner than usual at the moment, but I'd like something that will work in the summer months as well. Any suggestions?
I bought three different 24k Donna Bella products from Hautelook recently because I thought it was a much less expensive way to try the brand. I tried one of the products the other night - the 24k Deep Facial Peeling. It left an awful gum residue on my face that actually balled up and got stuck on every facial hair on my lower jaw/chin area. I had to use alcohol to remove it. I am wondering if Hautelook sold expired or bad product? It is also a non-returnable final-sale item, and Hautelook is refusing to take it back. Has anyone else tried this product? If so, does it really do this, or did I get a bad product? I am now afraid to try the other products I bought because I have to wonder about their freshness/authenticity. Thanks!
I want everyone to get out of their comfort zone and do something creative or crazy with your eye makeup! It was actually Meagboho's idea for me to start this thread Here's mine for today. I don't get to work with purples, pinks, or bold eyelashes on anyone, so that's I came up with this look. I wish the colors showed up better on camera though. If you ave anything that you want me to try to recreate, post them below Ignore that giant pimple on my cheek haha. I'll be posting regularly in here with random looks that I come up with! update: products used in for this look: Maybelline cream eye shadow in Barely Branded Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette MAC Omega L'Oreal Infallible eye shadows in Burst into Bloom and Purple Priority L'Oreal Infallible gel eyeliner ELF cream eyeliner Cre8tion lashes in #41 and Ardell Demi Wispies
As far as using makeup goes, I am a complete noobie, but I have really sensitive eyes (get real red and puffy, very itchy and watery, not fun) and I have no idea which kinds of products would work for me. And any other advice would also be awesome, considering I'm a teenager who has no idea what she is doing, and does not want to look like a raccoon or like they let a kindergartner draw on their face. Thanks so much!
My dermatologist, who is normally very conservative, recommended Dermapen sessions. I'm usually a skeptic when it comes to these sorts of things so I thought I'd see if any of you had tried it. Thank you!
