It's July!!! Time to start a new thread for all the amazing July hauls from you guys! Please post all your hauls, big or small, beauty or non-beauty...can't wait to see them all!! To start us off - here is a tiny sample haul from Dr. Hauschka
Hey BTers! I decided to start at new haul thread for the month June. I love seeing everyone's hauls.Share what goodies you got this month. (beauty and non-beauty) Remember guys a haul is a haul big or small.
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
I got the kiss pop I ordered in the mail today... Definitely not what I was expecting. On first looks, the packaging is super cute and feels very high quality. I ordered crush, which was described as a tangerine red, and all I'm seeing is tangerine. I'm very pale, and this comes out as a true orange on me in natural light. But mostly, this is far from moisturizing, in my opinion. It nearly crumbled when I applied it, and already my lips feel dry. I'll wear it around the apartment tonight, but I'm not so sure this will be staying. what are everyone else's thoughts on these?
I keep purchasing new things that catch my attention (or that I've convinced myself I need), but I simply can't get through all of the products I own. I don't have an issue tossing old mascara and liquid liners, but I absolutely hate the thought of tossing any other product before I've used every last bit of it. I've realized that it's impossible for me to use everything up unless I stop buying make-up altogether. What unused / unfinished products do you have trouble parting with? And what do you do about it? How do you use it up so you can move onto something new and exciting?
I was just looking through the "What Are You Wearing" thread and looking through the list of products I suddenly realized I very rarely use concealer under my eyes anymore. It used to be one those "will not leave the without it" items. It got me thinking back to a moment many, many, MANY years ago at a Clinique counter... I can't remember what I was shopping for (probably super double face powder because that was my HG back then. I think I was around 20 when this story happened - I'm 39 now for reference.) So anyway, the sales lady was trying to upsell me on a bunch more products of course (which, I was 20 and in college - good luck getting blood from that stone, lady) and this is what she said to me word-for-word: "Honey, you're gorgeous but those dark circles are distracting me from the rest of your face." Whhaaaaattt??? I honestly can't remember how I reacted or if I bought the product I went in for originally. I know that I did NOT buy any concealer though! Have a couple more to post but BT is being super iPad unfriendly lately! I don't want to open up any wounds with this post. Just hopefully dumb stuff SAs have said to you that you can look back on and laugh about now!
Hey everyone! I'm a teenage guy and I love skincare. I'm starting to get into very natural looking makeup just to conceal and even out some redness. Im very excited to be part of this forum! I get very passionate about this stuff! I just love it. I want to work in the beauty industry after I graduate!
Hey Beauties ! I was just here thinking and browsing the Sephora site along with my collection and it made me think about some stuff that just wasn't worth all the hype or wasn't all that . Most recently for me it has been the Benefit There Real Push up liner, it just wasn't a good consistency in my opinion and i totally could have done without it but anyway i thought i would start the discussion of what products have you purchased that wasn't worth the hype or you regret getting
Well that was the most depressing hour of my life. I decided to google "beauty over 50" and I just feel like shooting myself lol. Apparently I'm supposed to wear tinted moisturizer (no foundation), 1-2 at most neutral eye shadows (no color under any circumstances) and forget about lipstick with color. Yes maam - keep that whole face as boring as neutral as possible. You guys have no idea how this does NOT jive with my personality. I've worn makeup my entire life and I cannot tell you how often I've had ppl come up to me if I'm at a makeup counter and ask me for advice because they thought I worked there. I understand at my ripe old age of 50 I shouldn't be glowing in the dark decked out with sparkles and glitter but my God, I just bought the Marc Jacobs Siren palette and I love it!! But apparently I should gather up all my non neutral makeup and bury it in the backyard. Say it isn't so.
I searched around and saw storage but not many vanities. I just got my vanity in today, I'm probably going to get a chest to store everything else, because these drawers are small! They also don't open all the way. This is my set up for now. Whats your set up like?
So tomorrow, I was going to buy Lingerie de Peau & try the Meteorite in stores to see if I like them enough to buy them. BUT, I think I took for granted that because this is such a high end product, it did not contain talc. But it does! I am shocked. I'm not paying 60+$ for some pretty pearls made of talc. Is this just me or what? I never had problem with talk, and I wouldn't mind it too much if it was a 25$ powder, but for the price I'm paying, it better be talc free. Is is just me or if sometimes, luxury brands are a little behind in terms of ingredients and all? What are your thoughts?
Not sure if this is allowed? But I'm going to give it a shot and hope it doesn't get closed *covers eyes* What's on everyone's wish list for this sale? The sale started yesterday for card holders and will be available starting July 18! I'm having a hard time in finding anything I like on the previews I've seen so far! But I really want this!
Hey beauts. So lately I've been feeling the urge to splurge on lipstick. Im terrified to pick something that looks amazing in the tube but awful on myself. I have no issues with colorful shadows but lips....eeeek. The picture have as my profile is my daily go to look. Ice also added it on my profile. Can't figure from my phone how to post it. Lol. Any suggestion you guys can give me as to what might look good. Based on skin tone and just in general. Thanks lovelys
I bought the Murad spot treatment and let's just say my blemish is now the least of my worries. I'm allergic to something in it and now have a red raised rash that looks like a million tiny little pimples. Uuuugh
I am a 20 year old college student and am going on a semester long study abroad trip to Europe this fall, and would like suggestions for a quick, easy, and long-lasting face makeup routine? Also, I have acne prone and dry skin, so I would need products that cover my blemishes, would not worsen acne, and would moisturize my skin. Thank you!
Happy Mani Friday! After all of the festivities last weekend, today I just wanted something simple and clean, so I decided on an easy mani using Formula X White Matter (a perfect, pure opaque white).
What are you rockin' on your tips this weekend? Show and Tell!
Sephora posted a few videos and he seems to talk more about the packaging than the product itself. He seems kinda clueless about his stuff in fact. Or in my opinion he does. Does he actually know about the actual makeup or just the packaging? If just feels awkward watching him and it seems like hes trying to figure out what to say about the product. What do yall think?
After getting a summer job and making some pretty good money so far, I decided I want to splurge on my first high end product. I wasn't sure at first but then decided on purchasing the Meteorites from all your reviews. Are the"magic balls" worth getting for sure? Thank you!!
So, for years I've been chasing that youthful glow, but now given the stellar contouring and highlighting products out there, I think I'd like to try some matte finishes with them. You know, velvety. Any recommendations on what to try? Oh…adding…my skin runs a bit dry and is fair with some freckles. Generous coverage would be a plus.
Ok started looking for a highlight pencil for under my eyebrow.....am probably going with Anastasia Brow Duality, over Benefits High Brow... but as I started looking at the Benefits line, I found it somewhat confusing....so do people actually buy stay don't stray, as well as erase paste, as well as the eye brightener.....anyways, my question, which of these Benefits products should I start with? I am looking for a great face moisturizer, primer, brightener and tint, all in one would be FABULOUS! And it doesn't have to be just the Benefits line. And the best eye primer, brightener so that my makeup stays put? Thanx!!!!! MOST appreciated! Also, I am 57, so I would like to keep it age appropriate, Thank You!!!!
I'm 51 years old w/ a fair/light complextion and dry skin. I want a setting powder that does not turn my sheer to med. foundation coverage completely matte but allows some of the 'dewy' moist look to remain. Which of these powders is best for that OR is there another powder you would recommend?
Hi everyone! So it's been, like forever, since I last posted on here. Oh, how I've missed this beauty realm! Anyway, I have an interesting topic I'd like to share and hear your thoughts on! I grew up as the niece of a Mary Kay consultant, and from day one I was always told that every beauty regimen consisted of "cleansing, toning, and moisturizing". In attempts to combat my acne-prone skin, I researched and researched the best ways to achieve clear skin and realized that toning isn't always the key to healthy, acne-free skin--everyone's skin is different, and sometimes being too harsh or using products that are too drying can actually CAUSE acne. I had finally found a routine and products that worked and, through trial-and-error, discovered ingredients that aggravate my skin (which I now avoid). Before, I had been using Murad's AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser twice a day (I can already hear the gasps) and my skin was clearer than it had been in a while and my skin seemed to tolerate the exfoliation. However, I'm moving to Florida in three weeks and was just recently there to scout out the area. MAN, had I forgotten how HOT, HUMID, and MUGGY it is! Phew!! Guess what happened? Of course my skin was constantly oily, and instantly began to break out. And my Murad cleanser instantly seemed to stop helping and began aggravating my skin. So when I returned home (Ohio), I realized that I really need to rethink my skincare routine and LISTEN to my skin. ANYWAY, long story short, I re-visited my toner, Sea Breeze Original Formula. I used this long ago, but stopped due to the fact that I was afraid of drying out my skin too much and therefore causing my skin to produce too much oil and therefore creating acne. **ugh, the deadly cycle**. So I've been using a gentle cleanser morning and night, followed by my Sea Breeze toner (I hate that they call it an *astringent*...it sounds so....harsh), followed by a gentle, basic moisturizer or my beloved Argan Oil. Honestly, my skin improved overnight. So I wondered, am I really CLEANING my skin enough? Today, I experimented with just that! I had nothing to do today (and by nothing, I mean NOTHING!) So that meant no makeup, nada. I cleansed, toned, and moisturized this morning at around 9:00. It's 7:00 pm now and I was feeling grimy, so I cleansed my face then just took a few cotton rounds and toner and swiped them on my face. OH. MY. GOSH....THE DIRT!!! It's unbelievable!! And this is from literally doing anything and not wearing any makeup!!! I'm just stunned by how much dirt and grime my toner and cotton pad were able to pick up, and it has really made me reconsider the methods in which we "clean" our face. I know toners aren't for everyone, and I've been against them ever since I did my research on clearing acne-prone skin. But my golly, I'm just stunned so I had to share this with you all, pictures included!! I used it several times, the first cotton round being the first swipe, and the last one being a clean, un-used one (just so you can see the difference). How do you feel about toners, and if you use 'em, which ones do you prefer? P.S. Sorry for the super. Incredibly. Long. Post. It's been way too long, and I felt the need to be thorough. Plus, as I said, I had NOTHING to do today, which equals boredom. Which equals this post.
My sister needs help balancing her skin out. She has an oily AND dry t-zone because of a minor acne. She has dry skin at the center of her forehead, between the eye brows, on her nose, and her skin. She has a hard time sticking to skin routines because she sometimes goes out and doesn't come home, so her basic routine is: Neutrogena makeup remover wipes Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleanser Paula's Choice 2% BHA exfoliant Simple Light Moisturizer or Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion Tretinoin (only when she needs it) I don't have a solution for her ): She also can't wear some liquid foundations because they emphasize dry skin
Hey peeps! I've noticed quite a few of these posts, and was thinking it might be nice to a have a thread for people to ask other's opinions on how certain features/skin tones look with products we may want to try. Or...it'll end up being just another enabling thread...
I received the first sneak peek for Ipsy in my inbox this morning and figured I should share and get the July discussion going Sneak Peek #1 Everyone will be receiving 1 of these 2 items from bareMinerals Sneak Peek #2 Everyone will be receiving 1 of these 2 items Sneak Peek #3 Everyone will be receiving 2 of these items Sneak Peek #4 Everyone will be receiving 1 of these items
I have dry and dehydrated skin from living in the cold winters of Canada and from drinking little water. I've started becoming healthier and began drinking more water, which has made my skin a lot better but it's still red and a bit dry. What are some really good products that will fix this and give me that naturally beautiful skin that all the SA's have? I thought it would be best if I asked here. When I got my last makeover the people helping me, as nice as they were, didn't do too many favors for my skin. Despite using products to stop the dryness my skin was dryer when I walked out than when I walked in.
I've been using True Lash for a while now (it was an impulse buy, and now I'm completely hooked), which is easily the best eye makeup remover I've found. http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?k eyword=KATE%20SOMERVILLE%20True%20Lash%E2%84%A2%20 ... The problem is that it's so expensive and a tube doesn't last long at all. It's pretty hard to justify as a must-have item. So I'm looking to replace it with something similar. I love the cream formula - I've found that oil removers leave me scrubbing which easily irritates my eyes and the lid area. The cream is so smooth and just glides on easily (plus it takes off everything). I really don't care about the True Lash claims to promote lash growth. I don't really think it works (and that isn't why I buy it). I'm pretty happy with my lashes already. I was looking at the Fresh Soy Conditioning Remover http://www.sephora.com/soy-conditioning-eye-makeup -remover-P384779?skuId=1585991 Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm http://www.sephora.com/take-the-day-off-cleansing- balm-P126301?skuId=886267 Benefit They're Real! Remover http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?k eyword=they%27re%20real%20remover&skuId=1626761&co ... and the Naturally Gentle Remover http://www.sephora.com/naturally-gentle-eye-makeup -remover-P122675?skuId=590927 I'm leaning towards the Fresh Soy Conditioning, but I'm open to other thoughts and suggestions!
