So I've come to love all of you in the short time I've been here, but the amount of complaining that I'm seeing over the $20 off of $50 coupon not being sent out yet is getting a little riduculous. Yes, I understand it's not fair for those of us who haven't gotten emails yet when people have had physical cards for days now. Yes, I understand Sephora needs to get their act together and be on top of these things. Yes, I know a lot of people want to snag items online before they sell out. And yes, I know Sephora has been MAJORLY slacking lately in a lot of peoples eyes and that's not helping with the anxiety. But it's not even noon yet (EST anyway) the sale JUST started today. Just wait a littttle while longer, give it until at least midday (2pm-3pm seems adequate) before going off on a rampage. Or at least keep all complaing into one thread instead of starting a few threads for the same problem.
Why did you ask if I had a big family? Oh, uhhhh.. these 8 Philosophy Purity cleansers? Oh yeah... that's right, I have a really big family! This is all for them!!!!! :::nervous laughter::: It would be totally crazy if this was all for me. Ah ah ha ha... :::Hangs head in shame::: ---------------------- The above encounter has happened to me more than once. The most embarrassing was when buying family size potato salad--I live alone and I still like a good value. Is that so wrong?!?!?
I am taking it on faith that Sephora will get the gift cards into your hands soon. I wanted to start a happy, what did you get thread. This way we can post our new beauty prizes here. I will start. I got the HOURGLASS Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Mattifying Oil Free in Shell. Thanks Sephora, and I want to give a shout out to the Mod Kevin. Kevin if you are listening, you are doing a good job. Everyone here loves Sephora, and just doesn't want to be forgotten, that is the reason for all the anxiety about the gift cards.
I would have gotten mine today had UPS not left 2 of my boxes behind at the shipping facility :face palm: Hopefully tomorrow they won't leave without it. I managed to get one of my Sephora packages from black Friday though. OT: the UPS guy was using a budget truck to make deliveries...interesting, he said the other truck was too full so he had to use it....
my dear BBFFs, I thought you would know (since you collectively know EVERYTHING!) whether it's appropriate to touch up lipstick at work and how do you do it? I've been wanting to wear more pigmented lipsticks at work instead of my normal reapply-without-needing-to-look lip gloss. However, since my lips are dry I need to apply gloss sometimes once every half hour. If it's lipstick I definitely need a mirror. Popping off to the ladies room every half hour just to touch up lipstick is probably not a great idea. Is it ok to pull out the mirror at work, in a meeting, in the cafeteria, etc? Or should I just stick with the boring non-pigmented gloss?
Title says it all. I'm just looking for new amazing things to try and I would love to know your absolute favorites! And then just tell me why you love it so much! You can list as many as you want but don't list your whole make up/skin care/hair care/whatever else collections just the ones that really stood out in amazement to you when you first tried them all the way u till today. Im kind of a newby to trying out all sorts of things. I've only really tried out sephora so mine will be from there but you guys could choose anywhere. Okay 1. Dior lip balm lip enhancer Why I love it: I lovee my natural lips. So I don't want to cover up my natural color (which is a bit of a redish pink) I just want them to stand out a little more. The balm brings blood flow to your lips in the same way a mood ring does to take your natural color and make it brighter! Now I get compliments all the time with people "wow I love that color is that your natural lip color or lip stick"? 2. My origins brightening eye cream: really helps to make tired eyes look wide awake add a touch of concealer and bam it looks like you had perfect rest! 3. Lancôme xl mascara booster mascara base: love this stuff makes a hugeee difference with my mascara and you dont have to layer as much mascara because it gives you that great layered look with just one or 2 other mascaras so that saves a bit of money lol. That's my only loves so far like I said I haven't tried too much.
The site worked SO WELL this year! I got into the site and had a completed order at 12:01 EST!!! Last year it took me an HOUR to order on the site. Anyways, I grabbed the Kate Somerville, Ole Henriksen, and the Art of Shaving $10 deals. Three presents/stocking stuffers down on my list! What did everyone else get?
Does anyone else have this problem? I can't seem to get lotion on my upper back area between my shoulder blades and right now my back is itching like crazy! Any suggestions on how I can apply? Sweet Hubby is not always around to help!
Three hours ago, Urban Decay posted on Facebook, "...we’ve worked hard with our retail partners Beauty dotcom, Sephora and Ulta to move up the online launch of Naked3 to 12/6 instead of 12/9."
So there you go! At Sephora, Ulta, and Beauty dotcom it will be available this Friday! Everywhere else (e.g. department stores) will have it on 12/9.
So, I'm in the midst of the college application process and I was writing essays for Brown U and one of the questions posed was in regard to a community that I valued and I started my essay by mentioning Sephora's Beauty Talk. ^.^ You ladies mean a lot to me if you sneak into my applications to Ivy Leauge schools!
Receive an order today that contained above promo. Received deluxe samples of Lancôme and Buxom mascara samples, Sheseido bio-performance deluxe sample, 1 oz. Living Proof frizz nourishing sytling cream, and a foil of philosophy time in a bottle. Hope that helps people.

I know I wont see results immediately but did you guys ever try eye creams and saw results fairly quickly in the reduction of dark circles? I have not found a concealer to hide my dark circles! I've tried soo many the list is endless - Bobbi Brown, Nars, Clinique, MUFE, Amazing Cosmetics, etc..Soo now its time to heal my dark circles rather than hide! Any suggestions would be highly appreciated! =)

Hey girls, So I couldn't contain my feeling of joy when I heard that the hospital I work for has just recently opened a Transgender Youth Clinic. It's the first clinic in Toronto to be devoted to dealing with patients undergoing a gender transition. In a city like Toronto we don't have a whole lot of resources available for those who need the help to transition properly without ridicule. I'm just so thankful that they've finally done this and that these children can get the help they truly need. If I could get a job transfer to work with these youth I would do it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't want to see them go through the same struggles I did when I was transitioning. Anyways I just thought I would share this great news because this is one thing I truly feel happy about right now :-D !!
I am NOT getting a consensus from the answers I've been receiving from the nyc stores and from the posts I've seen IDK if the answer has been made clear yet, but my apologies if I missed it somewhere. Do we have a definitive launch date for Sephora for UD's Naked 3? Thanks, and again so sorry If I overlooked something, I really want to used my $20 off on this not spend it too soon only to have N3 come out a few days later!
http://www.sephora.com/colorful-eyeshadow-portfoli o-P377681?skuId=1596121 Is it just me, or is Sephora tripping? $600 for 80 of their no name eyeshadows? You can buy those Coastal Scents palettes for like $40. I can't believe anyone would buy this.
There's clearly an underlying trend with my faves, but I promise they all translate differently on the eyes and for different purposes . These are all part of the permanent range and/or are still available for purchase. -Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in B-day Suit: This is my favorite base to use on days when I'm wearing neutral powdered eyeshadows. Despite its sheer nature, it really amps up any taupes or grays I layer over it. I find that Benefit Creaseless shadows aren't too long-wearing, which is why I prefer using them as bases. One pot will also last you for a couple of years without drying out. (MAC paint pots, I'm looking at you!) -Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Initiation: One of the best holiday purchases this year, this bad boy is packed with shimmer and glitter -- perfect for this time of year! However, the glitter particles do not migrate throughout the day. This is probably one of the more opaque Illusion D'ombres Chanel offers, and it's just beautiful. Just go and pick it up. You'll be thanking me later -Diorshow Fusion Mono in 821 Chimere: This is perfect for days when I'm running late but still want something on my eyes with minimal effort. Chimere pulls rose gold under some lights and goldish brown in others -- truly a multi-faceted shade! The shimmer is quite noticeable, don't get me wrong, but it's still toned down enough that I would say is work appropriate. -Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige: Maybelline really outdid themselves with these Color Tattoos, as I find them far superior than MAC paint pots in terms of staying power and not creasing as the day goes on. I particularly like using Barely Beige as a base for champagne and peachy-pink powdered shadows. I haven't had any issues with these cream shadows drying out, but even if they did, I'm not complaining as they're a fraction of the price of most higher end ones. -Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Shadow in Slate: I'm a huge fan of the Tarte Amazonian line for the eyes, and the huge dent in the pot is a good indication of how often I reach for this product. It's the perfect taupe shade in a cream form for me, as it pulls neither too warm nor too cool on my eyes. Again, another one of those pop on the lids and blend into the crease with my fingers of a shadow and I'm out the door. What are some of your favorite cream shadows?

Wowie! It feels like I missed a bazillion heart parties in the blink of an eye (granted, it may have been a month-long "blink"). Instead of throwing a bunch and have it get complicated, I'm throwing a MEGA SUPER party for the thousanders (yes, that's a word in Beautytester's book) that haven't had their party yet (fashionably late, yes?) CONGRADULATIONS to Moregun89 for 1000+ hearts! Cheers to fellow computer security nerd with expensive skincare taste, lol, and thanks for that tip for fixing my sick computer btw. =D CONGRADULATIONS to Kalex for 3000+ hearts! I'm so used to that Egyptian sculpture with the hat thing you had for your profile forever that I was having trouble recognizing you for a while, lol. CONGRADULATIONS to Roxystar4 for 3000+ hearts! And for humoring my indecisive debates over Dior eyeshadows. No Golden Flower for me, but next time, definitely next time. =P CONGRADULATIONS to Rikkie for 4000+ hearts! I can't imagine the work that goes into checking every.single.item on the promo/perk thread. If you ever stop maintaining it, there's gonna be mutiny on BT I tell yeh. =O CONGRADULATIONS to Prettyinpa for 8000+ hearts! Save the best for last of course. One of the first person that welcomed me into BT and always there to provide some level headed advice. And I thought your name was Inpa (as in Pretty Inpa) for the longest time (it's Pretty-in-PA). And I remember you mentioning you own horses. Lol, if you live in Pittsburgh close to me, I'm totally gonna go play with your horses nxt time I'm in town. XD CHEERS to more helpful and fun posts to come! and happy holidays! ps. ack! this reminds me of the other thing I was going to re-remind the mods. Font color/size don't show up, plz fix iiiiiit. >.<
After receiving the $15 off email this morning, I decided to place an order. Upon check out I was informed that I was not allowed to use my gift card with this promotion. I called customer service and was rudely told that i can not use more than one gift card. This policy is ridiculous. Gift cards are like cash and to tell me that I can not use that as a form of payment is unacceptable. Your promotions are like traps. What good is a gift card if you cant use it? I have never run into a problem like this and am curious to know what the policy is and why.
i was just wondering what kind of fears people have. I have a TON of fears, including heavy rain + thunder, spiders, and crowds of people (anxiety). Also, how do you guys cope with your fears? What kinds of things comfort you?
Hi everyone, I received some tips awhile ago on using coconut oil to remove eye makeup. I've tried it and it works, but I think I'm a little clumsy as I think I got some in my eye, and it hurt and stung. Any tips there? A lot of you really seem to like coconut oil, and I am curious what else you use it for, and exactly how. For example, I heard you can use it to condition your hair. Exactly how do you do that? Put it on, wait awhile and then shampoo it out, or what? What else do you like to use it for? Thanks!!
I have the beauty blender and I absolutely love it! However I don't want to purchase the Beauty Blender Sponge Cleanser. Its too expensive in my opinion. Any easier methods to clean it. I cant get the stains off the foundation off the bottom of my beauty blender.
So today I was working on a project for a class I'm taking where the assignment was to take 3 pictures and compare them to pictures already presented to us using photography terms etc etc etc. ANYWAYS, I decided to take pictures of beauty products because I have a lot of them and I figured I could make them work. And I wanted to share them with you! The nail polish one isn't my favorite but it served its purpose. Let me know what you think!

I was at the movies recently and it made me feel slightly bad about my makeup. How on earth do the makeup artists get foundation to look so perfectly skin-like? I think my makeup is usually pretty natural but most girls would be able to tell I'm wearing foundation. I want to find a foundation that has decent coverage but doesn't look like foundation.... maybe I'm asking too much. Makeup isn't magic. Can any of you recommend foundation like this for me?
I know there are quite a few posts about the Naked Palettes, but the responses I've read haven't really told me what I want to know and it's hard to keep everything straight so here Naked 1 vs Naked 2 I have medium tan (think NC30- NC35, NARS Stromboli etc) skin with olive undertones and I have dark brown hair and eyes. I've been eyeing up the Naked 1 palette for years but haven't committed yet because I didn't know how much I would use it. I think I'm ready to get one now though, since I do have the $20 off waiting to be used, and I've started getting into eyeshadows more but I do not have a neutral palette yet. I would like to know which of the palettes you own, how often you reach for each and whether or not you find them to be worth it, compared to other neutral-ish eye palettes out there. Lastly, I think out of the three (I don't think I can wait for Naked 3 to launch on Sephora but still), Naked 1 would likely be the most useful/flattering for me, but if anyone has any other opinions, they would be really appreciated.
