I have a love for ridiculous lipstick colors and am in the market for a true blue. Everything points me at OCC's Rx but I own their Traffic (primary yellow) and haven't been the happiest with the consistency. Basically if I'm spending $18 I don't want it feathering off my face, transferring to everything and remaining tacky and wet all day as lip tars seem wont to do. I don't want a blue-black or a cyan or a navy. I could live with a darker shade but not something that is ashamed of its own color. I also absolutely want to avoid pastels. And to round off the spending point, I don't want to waste my money. Is OCC: Rx the best bet? A few cheap brands have ventured into the blue game such as NYX but cheap make-up is usually cheap for a reason. My other option is some indie companies I might reach out to. Any ideas?
I first learned about this from Wayne Goss' FB page so I had to search for it. He said it will be available in Selfridges UK (GBP 180) on Nov 1. Does anyone have more info for US? So far I only found this pic from the Fashion North blog:
I usually only get a monthly hormonal break out on my chin. I bought the Mia a month ago and my skin has been purging ever since. I have been breaking out for 4 weeks straight. How long does this purge usually last? Is that what Im experiancing, or do I need to switch to a sensitive brush head, or stop using the Mia all together? I havent changed anything else in my routine, I'm using the same cleanser, the same moisturizer, same serum, same foundation, same everything. Please help.
I remember when I first joined BT about a year ago, there was a lot of scrambling for those traincases in the sale section. Well, it's that time of year. They're baaaaack!!!! http://www.sephora.com/strike-wild-traincase-P3878 17?skuId=1601236
I follow Kat Von D on Facebook and yesterday, Monday, 10/20/14, she posted that she was launching a new beauty website in 10 days/on 10/30/14.🙀 See her post on FB for details on what the intent of the site is. I didn't want to post a screen capture of her post for two reasons 1) I am not sure if I'd be infringing on some protected material and 2) there was one bad word at the bottom of her post and I'd have to figure out how to edit that out since BT has rules on language. 😜 I am pretty excited - I love her products and I love her tutorial videos. I am anxiously awaiting the launch! I did visit the site to see what is currently posted and I was able to sign up to receive email communications. The site already looks pretty hot!🔥

It's midnight in New York and you know what that means... it's October!! I don't care if I'm in California, I'm still making this post hahaha. I started my haul at CVS because my sister had $10 rewards for beauty and I used that towards lipsticks for my kit. I got Wet n Wild lipsticks in Sugar Plum Fairy, Wine Room, and Mauve Outta Here. I also got a Milani lipstick in High Voltage. I paid $2 for 4 lipsticks! I went to Ulta to pick up NYX Dark Circle Corrector and the Essence Lipstick (4th one above) in Wear Berries THEN, I went to Sephora to pick up a free deluxe sample of Bare Minerals lipstick in Speak Your Mind and my MUFE Birthday gift! PS my birthday is October 18 hehe
I'm sitting here with my soft plush blanket and warm cat on my lap feeling very happy it's getting chilly. Got me to thinking, what are some good fall/winter staples for fragrance, lotion, makeup...etc? Doesn't even have to be about beauty. Do you love peppermint mochas from Starbucks? Eager to make/eat a pumpkin roll?
I wanted to try the Dior Airflash spray but don't have time to try it in stores will be ordering online. Would the color #300 be a good match for me? for Reference i wear Barcelona nars sheer glow and Guerlain Lingerie in 03 beige natural . Thank you girlies!
Ok BT, what did you find today? Edit 10-2, feel free to post if you find something from your favorite brand. I have been searching for a good neutral palette for quite some time now and I have been trying to talk myself out of getting one of these palettes, but I have decided to take the plunge and get one of them. However, I am torn between the two of them. I personally think that cooler toned shadows fit my skin tone better (I sort of have yellowish undertones) so after some suggestions I have been leaning towards the naked 2. But there are some colors I really cannot stand in the palette (tease, pistol, foxy), and I know those shadows would go to waste. In the naked1 palette the only color I cannot stand is gunmetal (and maybe toasted would end up being a dislike), but because the colors are so warm I'm afraid I would get it and realize that none of the shadows are good for me, which would lead me to not reaching for it. Lastly, I was looking at swatches of the naked2 palette and this photo really caught my eye. The colors look sooo pigmented and nice, but in some other photos I have seen the colors look completely different and not as nice. Does this photo accurately show the true colors of the naked2 palette? Anyway, I'm basically town between the two and I would love if anyone has some good feedback on this! Thanks!
I received this year's birthday gift back in January...The MUFE lipstick was just the right shade but I didn't keep track of what colour it was. Can anyone tell me what shade it was or were they all different colours?
It hit me a few days ago that Black Friday 2014 would be here soon!!! I happen to just love love love Black Friday shopping. I am not a morning person, a total night owl actually, so I've enjoyed that the last couple of years there have been more stores opening late on Thursday. (I don't support folks having to work on Thanksgiving just so I can shop but I won't wake up at 3 am to be at a store for a 4 am opening - I'd rather just stay up and hit a midnight opening - just a personal preference). Last year Sephora branded their Black Friday deals as "Dealtopia". As in years past, they had some amazing $10 deals. Some were online only and some were available both in store and on-line. On-line, we were limited to two items of each deal, but many of us made multiple orders. In-store, some locations held to the two item limit of each deal, and some didn't and they let you buy more. What is always the great mystery for on-line shopping is the exact time that the deals will go live. I want to say that it was midnight EST time. Last year, the online shopping was a bit of a nightmare. Anyone remember entering the "queue" where you were advised not to hit the back-button, or refresh, else you'd lose your place in line? With some patience, many of us were able to find our desired deals. My local store opened at midnight and when I got there at about 11:45, I was about the 15th person in line. There was only one "aggressive" shopper, who was behind me, but went kinda crazy when the doors opened. She knew what she wanted and by gosh, she wasn't afraid to nudge you out of the way to get there! Other than that, it was crazy busy but nothing horrible. They had many of the deals sitting on the main front display, but they also had some employees who had rolling carts with some of the items. Finding that "one" item you just had to have was tricky if it wasn't on the main display. To get an idea of what the deals were in 2013, I recommend googling "Musings of a Muse Black Friday 2013" to see the great details she posted including great pictures. Captured below is the list of deals from 2013, as found on The Musings of a Muse site. In addition, I just took a photo of the ones I bought last year that I still haven't used or given away. I think my favorite $10 item was the Josie Maran set, which included her Bare Naked Nail Wipes (20 count) and a 1 oz. Whipped Argan Oil Hand Cream in Vanilla Apricot. I think the "hot" item was the Philosophy Purity wash. What was your favorite? Note that Sephora did most of their Black Friday advertising using Pinterest and Facebook. I do not remember how many days before Black Friday they posted what the deals would be. Do any of you remember? All I know is that I am really excited for 2014!!! Alright, I just discovered LUSH! I haven't taken a bath in forever, but I bought a bath bomb from LUSH. Now I think I will be taking a bath every night! UGH! So Wonderful!!! Who else love LUSH?!?! What are your favs?
I'll be going as the notorious Harley Quinn I'll be wearing all black leather with a few strategically placed pieces of red, with the tips of my two ponytails sprayed red. Also either some kind of black mask, or black eye makeup. And a dark lip.
I posted a question about this problem before. My makeup hasn't been setting on my skin lately. At first it was only a problem on my nose, and it would look dry and blotchy. Since then, I have noticed under my eye/cheek region has been very blotchy looking as well. I moisturize my skin every morning and night with a Cetaphil moisturizer. I've tried using Urban Decay's Complexion Primer Potion and I've used many different brand foundations to try to find the problem. Nothing has really changed. I went to a local Sephora and talked to a skin expert about the problem. She gave me a sample of Kate Somerville's ExfoliKate & Perricone's Blue Plasma. Neither of those seemed to work. My makeup just looks patchy and splotchy on my face. Since getting older, I have found myself to have drier skin. I have never had this problem before and have been able to use any foundations or primers without any problem. Has anyone had this problem or have a suggestion to the next step I should take in treating this problem?
So I stared at my collection last night and rifled through for a good nude lipstick when I realized something. I really only have pure beigey-nudes. I have one that leans slightly pink, maybe, but it's not quite what I would like to have in my arsenal. This is an unacceptable gap I need to fill up, obviously, especially since I tend to top all my nude lippies with a pink-tinted gloss! Now I would love to find the perfect pale slightly pink-undertoned nude lipstick that will not wash me out. I'm on the pale side, between NW15 and NW20, though in the summer I can pull off NW20 for maybe a month. Tom Ford Blush Nude seems to fit the bill judging by swatches online, but I'd like to know my other options in formulas such as Nars Audacious, Givenchy Le Rouge, Guerlain KissKiss, Chanel Rouge Allure, YSL, Bite Beauty, Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy, Rouge Dior, etc. I do prefer more moisturizing and luxurious formulations. I am comfortable with a $20 to $40 price range. Looking forward to some awesome suggestions! Thanks, everyone!
Hi, I need to help with matching the right shade to my skin tone and as I live in the UK I can't go into a store. I'm NC25 in MAC. I am 49 years old with combo/sensitive skin- more on the dry side. I have been using purity made simple, both original and gel formulation, but i find it doesn't remove makeup really well. I have tried a sample of the foaming face wash by clinique and works well to remove makeup but now my skin is dry. Wondering about the cleansing oils - and which brand - either philosophy or clinique?
i just recieved my Target beauty box, I think it was free with $7 shipping. All in all, definitely worth the cost. Elnett extra hold hairspray...good for purse Fekkai dry shampoo...always can use, we'll see if it's better than my Batiste Laniege BB cream....been wanting to dry NYX eye pencil in Milk...already have Loreal color riche lipstick...seems like a lip gloss, we'll see if I like it coupon for $3 off of $15...easily done. i also got the Walmart beauty box, free with $5. I like them both for different reason. You can see the pics along with others in the Walmart beauty box thread.
I use Laura Mercier's oil free tinted moisturizer because the color matches great and I LOVE the lighter-than-foundation coverage. My one concern with it, though, is that it can get a little oily throughout the day. I always have blotters handy, so I just sort of use those, but is there a better way to go here, such as a primer? Do you recommend using a primer with tinted moisturizer? Does that help? Or does it go against the lightweight feeling of using something like a tinted moisturizer in the first place?
