Good morning my dolls! Today is my *Dun da da dun!* 14th BIRTHDAY! Many of you have known me since I was just twelve years old. There are many tender memories and sweet laughs that have happened here at BT, and always knowledge to be shared. I've made many good friends here and experienced sisterly love like none other. When I was obsessed with a boy earlier this year who turned out to be a lying, disgusting piece of crap Y'all were there for me. When I cut five inches of my hair off in my room one night then proudly posted a few pics, y'all were supportive and kind. Here's to us BT, We are family! Wild and love Skye <3
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
Are there any popular brands, sold by Sephora or anywhere else, that you just aren't into or don't consider for whatever reason - consciously or subconsciously? Like, for me, for whatever reason, I don't even know why, I never even look at Make Up Forever or Cover FX... and probably plenty of others. But obviously plenty of people love both brands and promote them when people are looking for products.
--closed-- Box of awesome high end items and unicorns, show me yours and I'll show you mine, lol. While I’m not “ancient”, I’ve been on BeautyTalk WAY longer than I ever expected and have made some very good friends….as well as been enabled into getting WAY more makeup, lol. It is getting a bit overwhelming and as much as I like pretty things, my style is more minimalist, so I don’t reaaally need 6 or 7 jars of Guerlain meteorites etc. To help revamp/reorganize my stash as well as having some fun with the awesome friends I’ve made, I’m doing the LUV TB. It contains lots of makeup that I love but never use, altho I couldn’t bear to part with any perfumes or majority of the skincare, so you ladies will have to make up for it along the way. Keep it classy, with high end and preferably new or lightly used things. No drugstores. Since it’s got tons of expensive items, I asked people I trust who are interested, so the box is closed. If it goes well, I may do another one next year when I've accumulated enough treasures. =P Expand below to see the rules, taken from the awesome roxystar4 and slightly simplified: Spoiler (Highlight to read) * Please make sure every item is in a plastic ziplock bag to prevent spills. Hello! So pretty recently my foundation has been acting up. Whenever I apply foundation I ALWAYS get this cakey, dry skin look. I do have dry skin but I always exfoliate and moisturize before I apply my foundation. That being said I also have acne. And normally that's where I find it cakes the most but I don't have acne all over my face, even where I have smooth skin I see that it's cakey. The cakey makeup won't go away. It's also seems like you can see the peach fuzz on my face, it's so weird. I use my Laura Mercier foundation with my Cover FX liquid foundation brush. I put on my NYX Pour Filler primer and put on my foundation. I truly put on a thin layer, a thin enough layer that I still see the redness from my acne (which I dislike but I'd rather have my acne showing than a full of cakey makeup.) After putting on my foundation I would normally set my face with a matte powder (which makes the cakey makeup look even more worse.) Add bronzer and blush (height of the cake.) I have no clue what to do anymore. I've tried different foundations, all the way to pricey top of the line ones, to drugstore ones. I've tried different ways of putting the foundation on, my fingers, a sponge, a brush. I've tried BB cream. Nothing is working. Can anyone please save me from this makeup nightmare? Thanks in advance!
To all my Canadian ladies. Where can I find Lorac products in Canada? I've been going back and forth to Canada since the BF is there. I haven't had any luck finding the Lorac Pro at Ulta so I wanted to know if it's sold anywhere in Canada.
Hello! I'm currently looking for an eye cream to incorporate into my skincare regimen. I'm almost 20 and don't have any specific concerns with my eyes. I've tried a few samples from different brands (Kiehl's, Chanel, Sephora), that target a specific eye concern, but nothing has wowed me. Though I find eye creams to be a bit of a drag, I realize and understand the importance of having an eye cream I can use daily. Suggestions and helpful feedback is greatly appreciated!
Hello BT! Today is August 1st and that means another month of hauls! This month is the 2x/3x/4x the points for BI,VIB and ROUGE respectively. A great time to stock up on points lost throughout the year! Please share your purchases! Remember, a haul is a haul no matter how big or small!
I didn't see anything posted yet about these new palettes, but saw them on Ulta and I'm thinking of using my 20 percent discount to pick one up. A little pricey at $49 each, but it looks like a really nice palette! Top to bottom, they are Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit. Now to decide which one!
I know MUFE has come out with a ton of new shadows, does anyone have links to blogs or YT videos with some reviews or swatches? I've been looking but no luck yet. I know we can't post links, but I'd love a heads up to where I can see the new shadows in action. Thanx
Hey So I've always had very thick and very cource hair that is naturally very frizzy and puffy. Because my hair is very cource, it's also very dry on the ends. My hair is kind of straight, but it's also very, very kinky and flips out all over the place so it has a few loose waves. As I'm growing older (I'm now 15), my hair is getting harder and harder to manage as I get so many flyaways and it's so hard to put it in a ponytale, even. The last year or so I've been straightening my hair everyday and although my hair doesn't get especially damaged as it's so strong, it takes such a lot of time and effort, and I'd love to stop doing so but it looks crazy if I don't. I also dry my hair using a hair dryer, also I don't blow-dry it properly as it's very difficult on my hair and takes such as long time. Although heat is meant to cause more frizz, I find that if I let my hair dry naturally, it's even more crazy. My hair is quite dry but it tends to get a little greasy sometimes, so I tend to wash it every 2 to 3 days. However, I do find that it's shinier and more managable a couple of days after washing my hair. I'd love to put together a better hair care routine, but I don't what would work well on my hair! Any reccomendations, tips or ideas? Thanks so much ! Oh and I live in the UK if that helps productwise.
We've all been there...a bag full of unused or disappointing make up from the drug store, which I still like but without the ability to try before buy you end up with a lot of fails. Then you find Sephora and wonder, is the price worth it? You try a few things, you like a few things, you see the price tag and tell yourself: "Eh, I can go with ramen noddles for a week to afford this." And then you buy it. What was your first purchase? Why did you choose it? I always like hearing other stories like this. Share on!
Hi all! I've been browsing the forum and found many suggestions for acne scar treatments. So I was wondering what the best product is for acne scars? I don't want a spot treatment or a peel, but an overall face serum/treatment. But I don't want a face lightening product (I don't want to lighten my whole face/complexion). Also, can I use these acne scar treatments in conjunction with another serum (such as an anti-aging serum)? Thanks ahead of time for your advice/suggestions/answers!
Not wanting to swatch lip products directly onto my lips, I found a paint chip that is close in color to my natural lip color to swatch onto. My bare lips have a lot of natural color. This hack works for me about 95% of the time. This is also good for determining coverage and pigmentation. Hope this is helpful.
I don't know if any of you ladies know about this but Sonia Kashuk just came out with a LE 15 piece brush set in celebration of their 15th anniversary. I just picked up the last one in my town today during my lunch break. I personally think this is a steal. It is $40 at Target. If you can find it, I suggest to get it right there and then because this set is sold out almost everywhere and each Target in the US and Canada each get 2 sets. Go on to Target's website and use the "find in a Target store" and click on "pick up in store" if it shows up to reserve it. Sonia Kashuk is trying to keep it in stock but it keeps selling out. This set will be available until October according to their customer service line. If anyone wants to know how they perform, let me know and I will do a small review here on BT.
I have a pretty comfy makeup station and I do love me my products and I pretty much use everything from soup (primer) to nuts (setting spray). But I've noticed that instead of getting faster, I'm just getting slower and sloooower in my makeup application. I really enjoy the process of putting my makeup on - it's probably my favorite part of the day. But I feel like it's taking me a ridiculously long time to do my fairly simple everyday look (I don't vary how I do my makeup TOO much from day-to-day). So I used the timer on my phone for the past three days: 42, 50, and 52 minutes! Yikes! You ladies have seen my makeup. Nothing on my face should take 52 minutes! I know I take a long time doing my eyebrows - they're always a trouble spot for me. I'm going to TRY and speed myself up over the next few days so I can at least have more time to walk my dog in the mornings before work. So I'm curious...how long does it take YOU to do your makeup?
So my mom is visiting and she wants to buy some Kerastase vials that are supposed to help new hair grow (he has lost some hair in the last years and she used to love the super full head before...) I'm looking it up and it looks like what she needs are the Densifique vials. Do you guys know them? Do you know if they word? Any other ideas for avoiding hair loss and helping new hair grow? Thanks!!!
My hair is super dry, damaged, and extremely prone to tangles. I have used so many different shampoos, conditioners and different types of brushes. I get my hair cut regularly. I have struggled with extremely tangly hair since I can remember. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and can suggest some products to use that can breathe some life back into my hair and ease the tangles!
I just recently started washing my face everyday. It's horrible, but I guess I never had to wash it as much. Now that I am washing, applying moisturizer, putting on makeup, and then removing it it is a lot for my skin. I have noticed my skin feels almost oily--but doesn't look oily. I apply moisturizer AM and PM is it being over moisturized?
Is anyone else drooling over this new palette by Makeup Forever? It looks gorgeous. I'm also intrigued because I've never tried MUFE eyeshadows (other than a cream eyeshadow I have). I think I read that all these shades are available to purchase separately from their new line of shadows. If anyone here gets it, please swatch and share! Has anyone tried the new MUFE eyeshadows yet? This gets me excited about fall clothes and boots!!! http://www.sephora.com/artist-palette-P388223?skuI d=1622885
This is my second order of Give Me Some Lip. My fav is the full size Smashbox with the cushy paddle like applicator and the Buxom with a great tingle feeling. Anyone else have this set? What do you think beauties?
