i'm looking to buy a foundation that won't settle into laugh lines or look too cakey. i think i have combination skin…. it's initially somewhat dry in the beginning of the day and gets super oily as the day goes on in addition to being acne prone. i'm torn between kat von d lock it foundation and Makeup forever matte velvet
I am going shopping soon and can't decide whether to purchase two buxom lip cream in dolly and mudslide or two of their full on lipsticks in amsterdam and brooklyn or one lip cream and one lipstick. I am normally a lip balm type of girl.
I have been seriously trying to get into the contour world. I have been told before to use the NXY and I did not like it. So I've gave in and decided to either get the tarte contour pallet or the Kat Von D one. I need some pros and cons of each? (fair skin tone, combo skin type)
I have textured, uneven skin due to past acne. Its not too bad and dents aren't too deep but it is so annoying. My pores seem large too. What could I use to resurface my skin and get rid of this scarring?
I'm currently using the First Aid Beauty Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizing Gel and it's doing nothing for me. Can't wait until the tube is empty. I'm considering splurging on the Drunk Elephant B Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel but wanted some opinions on it since it's so pricey. I use the CeraVae PM moisturizer at night and would prefer not to use the AM in the morning before my makeup.
I have tried several different primers, eyeliners, mascaras, and shadows. My eye makeup runs and pools at the corners and under my eyes, giving me raccoon eyes. Help! What products do you suggest to solve this issue?
I have just purchased the Fresh Seaberry face oil and the Fresh Lotus cream. I love them both!!! I would like to purchase a new cleanser, face scrub, moisturizer, face treatments, I just don't know where to begin. I have oily skin and sometimes have some dry spots. Any advice/Help would be greatly apprieciated. Thank you so much!!!
i dunno about you guys but this month has been a whirlwind. this month's favorites are a few new babies and a couple rediscovered old timers. surprisingly no skincare, as i'm keeping to what i know (and harp on about all the time) and it's working out grand. STILA stay all day liquid lipstick, baci . got this, and all my other lipsticks have been neglected. i can't stop. flattering yet subversive nude -- just a hint of purply grey keeps it on the edge. NYX microw brow pencil in black . A PROPER BLACK PENCIL FOR US BLACK HAIR GIRLS !!!! thank the heavens. very similar to ANASTASIA brow wiz, but this formula i've noticed gives a slight sheen to the brow hairs, in a good way--looks more natural that way ! thank you @MK89 for guiding me toward this little drugstore gem ! ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE dangerous complicity EDP . the first time i got my nose on this i thought there was nothing dangerous about it. i didn't think it was particularly unique (i still don't, frankly) or exciting about it. but this one is a slow burn. this perfume is kinda the TLC 'creep' of perfume. just creepin on the down low and then you realize you're intoxicated and in love. (i don't think that's the point of that song. whatever.). very much want to learn more about the chinese o smanthus flower now, too. i've found that boys like it (if you care about that). NARS liquid illuminator, copacabana . i bought this last year and fell in love, only to neglect it because i thought, maybe, it broke me out. turns out it doesn't break me out (we'll blame the amount of stress i was going through when i originally tried it). which is great for me because it's everything i want in a highlighter ! NARS single eyeshadow, lhasa . i've been on a cool tones kick this month (i'm still a bit baffled by this development) and the glorious lhasa has been by my side through the ride. if anyone wants a grey eyeshadow, this is what i'd recommend. a mid-toned grey with a hint of violet and brown that aren't so literal but give lhasa an enchanting depth. pairs beautifully with NARS blondie eyeshadow in the crease.
I have been wearing my color IQ matched liquid foundation for months with no problems, and suddenly in the last 3 days a few hours after getting to work I notice my face is orange. Not oompa loompa orange, but the foundation has an orange tint to it. It doesn't look like this when I put it on. I don't have anything new in my routine, so I applied my foundation with a brush instead of the beauty blender, and was still orange. Today I applied with my fingers, and left off my blush just to make sure that wasn't what was turning me orange. I'm still orange. I have pretty dry skin. Could it be that my foundation is old? Help?! What do I do?
welcome back to the junk drawer of random beauty thoughts and musings. it has been nearly a year, so i think it is time for a rew RT thread ! when i'm doing my makeup in the morning, my dog sometimes throws a fit until i move his food bowl over to where i'm sitting. i'm certainly not the diva in our relationship. ____________________ THE QUESTIONS THREAD : http://community.sephora.com/t5/Products/The-Quest ion-Thread-Because-not-all-questions-need-their-ow ... Just turned 30 and I know you should use a peel pad daily, and I've been told to use an exfoliator, should I alternate them? Or use the peel pad everyday and the exfoliator twice a week? I have flaky skin everyday, It's pretty smooth on most of my face but it's dry, flaky and acne/blackhead prone on my nose and chin. I'm also hoping to save some money because my regime is expensive and I think too complicated. Cleanse with Skyn Iceland Glacial Facewash Tone with Skyn Iceland Arctic Face Mist Peel with Skyn Iceland peel pads (sometimes daily, sometimes every couple of days) Treat with Ren Overnight Facial (usually on days I'm not using the peel pads as this helps replenish moisture) Serum with Murad (can't remember what it's called but it's supposed to help with hormonal breakouts) Moisturize with Ren Global Day Cream Indie Lee Blemish Treatment (it's the same as the Kate Somerville Eradikate). Things I don't want to change: my moisturizer (it's heavy but it's the only one that reduces the sensitivity of my skin and actually provides enough moisture, everything else I've tried from oil-free, to light moisturizers, to other heavy moisturizers and oils have not worked. My blemish treatment , which is a spot treatment I use at night and clears up my acne without drying up the rest of my face, and it works when nothing else has. My cleanser, it's a good buy, effective but not to drying, natural and is helping to balance my skin. Things I like but don't need or would like a cheaper alternative: the serum , I want something with Retinol that won't break the bank where a little goes a long way. The Ren Overnight resurfacing treatment , I love this but it's expensive and probably I don't need it, but it's nice to use once in a while when my skin is crazy dry. Things I need some tips on: the peel pads , these are a must-have but I don't know if I should switch to just an exfoliator when I haven't found them to be effective and I would like a cheaper alternative. Also, I would like good advice on a nice exfoliator with lactic/glycolic/aha acid or an enzyme exfoliator. I would like to simplify my routine if possible but have been struggling to find a way to do it, save some money but keep up with my skin feeling amazing (for the most part).
I am looking for a new skincare routine and would like to use the whole line. Im debating between FAB and Caudalie as I have sensitive skin. What do you guys recommend? I don't have any skin concerns besides pores that should be controlled with exfoliating I would appreciate suggestions!
I have super dry skin and have been looking for the perfect foundation that give light/medium coverage without clinging to dry patches and looking cakey? I prefer a natural finish and not too look *too*dewy. Thanks!
I have prom coming up in a week. My dress is navy blue. It has white, silver, a rustic gold, and turquoise beading on it. I'm not sure on what colors to choose for my eyeshadow or lipstick?? I have brown hair and brown eyes with a light to medium skin color. Help!
I will be going to Thailand soon, and the weather there is HOT. Better yet, I'm going during the humid rainy season! I would rather not have something that has a full, heavy coverage in that heat! My acne has gotten better so I'm not as concerned with getting full coverage as I used to be, but I'm still not sure which bb/cc cream or even tinted moisturizer is good enough to last in the heat! I've tried benefit's bb cream but the somewhat powdery finish made my dry spots look splotched an uneven, as any powder foundation does. I have fair, sensitive skin that is dry combination. Thanks for any suggestions!
Awhile back we played this game and it is time to revive it! QUESTION: IF YOU WERE STUCK ON A DESERTED ISLAND, WHAT FIVE MAKEUP/BEAUTY ITEMS WOULD YOU WANT BY YOUR SIDE? Rules: Choose five items that would be your “necessary” beauty items if you were trapped on a deserted island Necessity items don’t count. (toothpaste, deodorant, etc.) A picture of your five items only adds to the fun when posting.. Remember ~ Creativity Counts! Here is my contribution: 1. Urbany Decay Naked2 Eyeshadow Palette 2. It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Foundation Brush 3. Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation 4. Kat Von D Liquid Lip in Bow n Arrow 5. Sephora Black Magic Cleaning Cloth
I have thin, frizzy wavy hair and not a lot of time in the morning to blow dry. I'd love to get some hair products that would help to reduce frizz, add texture and keep the wave in my hair without a use of a blowdryer. Right now i'm using Redken soft right now, but it's not working for me anymore
Hi! Now that summer is here (even though I'm in LA so it's sunny all the time), I am especially concerned with getting enough sun protection! My makeup contains SPF 30 and I apply it each morning. To be specific, I generally use Tarte Tinted Primer with SPF 30. Is this enough to get through the day? I always go on a 30 minutes walk in the sunshine during lunch, 6 hours after application. I'm inside the rest of the day. Is this enough? Do I need to be reapplying? I also have very oily skin so can't be putting on lotion throughout the day. What do I do?????
