Im currently on my 3rd week using Retin A and my skin has become dry and flakey. Apparently this is normal until my skin adjust to the retin. Im seeking an affordable cleanser (preferably cream based), i also need a good SPF moisturizer. I have to stay away from anything citrus in order not to irritate my skin (while on retin citrus and alcohols can irritate and cause bad redness). Also, i prefer something with minimal alcohol in the products. I cant afford to lose anymore hydration lol. I cant wait until my "Ugly" phase is over. Only 3 weeks in and my skin is almost acne clear. Im hoping the dreadful 4-6 weeks horror stories of purging does NOT come my way, Id really appreciate any suggestions from my fellow beauties.
Hello! I have a question I am sure is asked a lot. I am having trouble finding a foundation, well kind of. I was matched in store for MUFE Mat Velvet+ in No. 20 Ivory. I do really like this foundation but since its summer I went back in to find something a bit lighter looking and a more natural finish. (I have Combo Skin that gets oily through the day on the forehead). I was matched with the tool they have now and was told I was 2Y04. Well now I am really lost, how do I know what color I am and how do I go about finding a shade for me with out having to go and try them all on and not get pushed into one I don't really like. When I go to find my color matches through the foundation I already have it comes up with 1R03 and a totally different set of colors. Now I have also gotten my hands on MUFE HD in 115 Ivory and it also looks good on me. So If you can help me out I would much appreciate it.
I only wash my hair once or twice a week and am looking for the best shampoo and conditioner for that. I have really thick, dark hair. It usually feels very dry the day I wash it. By day two or three it starts to feel soft, is more manageable, and looks shiny. I use very little product, mostly because I want to prevent buildup and looking greasy and I don't dye my hair. I do use dry shampoo between washes when necessary.
So two nights ago I decided to pull out all my lippys and take a sorta inventory on colours and items that would be useful for summer looks. I ended up sitting there with cotton pads and systematically applying and removing one after the other, deciding if I would wear each colour this season or not. I must say I'm sitting pretty with quite a few bright summery lippys. the colours I deemed too dark were shuffled to the back of my drawer. i ended up putting six lippys aside for either my mother or my sister to pick at if they choose cause I thought they were mistakes for me. In the end I feel much more organized, with a better sense of what I own and my lips are super exfoliated from all the swiping and wiping. how do the rest of you keep track of your inventory? Or do you? It just occurred to me that I should have been disinfecting my lippys as I went.... Oh well.
What is the BEST SETTING SPRAY for keeping your makeup (especially blush, bronzer, highlight) in place ALL DAY?! I am running out of my Mac Fix Plus and I would like to try something new, that hopefully works better!! Thanks Dolls!!😘
Hello makeup lovers! I'm looking for a new blush, but I have some requirements: 1) must come with a brush, for touchups on the go 2) powder, since I use powder foundation 3) nice natural tone, prefer pink or peach, I have fair skin (I wear MUFE Mat Duo in shade 200, can't remember what I am in MAC, maybe NC20?) I recently tried Clinique - while changing nothing else in my routine - and after 2 days had two large blemishes. I tend to be sensitive/break out on my upper cheeks just below the orbital bone (redness, small blemishes, clogged pores). I'm very careful about washing my brushes and with my skincare routine, so going to chalk this up to either blush (or maybe my Nars undereye concealer?). Here's what I'm considering - what do you recommend? Any other brands? Lancome Blush Subtil (regular or shimmer) Shiseido Luminzing Satin Face Color Givenchy Le Prisme Blush ($30 is usually my limit, but willing to try this) Thanks in advance!
My Dr's office has infrared saunas and I was wondering if anyone here has used them. What does it feel like? How long did you use one and did you see any benefits? For those will ask, infrared saunas are supposed to: - remove toxins through increased circulation and sweating - burns as many calories as 30 minutes of jogging - clears cellulite - reduces stress and fatigue - improves acne and appearance of wrinkles
Hi, I struggle with very stubborn skin, my face is extremely oil prone, but if i use to harsh of product it will also peel yet still be very oily, anyways I was using Cliniques Stay Matte Powder Foundation it seemed to soak up excess oil and not cause alot of oil on my face, but now I see that it is no longer being sold. Does anyone have a recommendation for a powder foundation that will keep my face as matte and not oily as possible?? I also use face primer too and that helps a little bit..... Thanks!
HI all! i ordered the cute little Sephora Universal atomiser, thinking I could transfer my Tory Burch Rollerball perfume into it. Unfortunately, it isn't going to work...it is adapted for spray-type bottles and it doesnt open up for pouring. I want to get that perfume out of the rollerball, because it just seems like I don't get enough product out of the roller ball...then I feel like a kid scribbling all over myself trying to get enough coverage! Plus, I am afraid over time the product inside will become contaminated with any body oils or dirt it may come into contact with from my skin. Any suggestions? ( other than next time don't be a cheapo and just buy the darn spray bottle and be done with it!) EDIT: If one pays enough attention, all one has to do is unscrew the bottom, hold it upside down, and pour a perfume into it! :::shuffles away embarassed::::
I normally don't have a problem with most makeup products. My skin is okay with Makeup forever, Bobbi brown, Hourglass, Guerlain, and Giorgio Armani most of the times. but when it comes to MAC items, I break out almost instantly and it takes more than 2 weeks to fully recover. it just makes my skin to warm up, cause black heads, and break out. I checked the ingredients and they don't really have anything that might cause breakouts. (I used prep and prime natural radiance and the mineralize moisture foundation) if anything, MUFE has more of ingredients that normally break me out like parabens.. does this happen to anyone else? I was going to purchase their pro longwear concealer but really don't know if I should..
I have dry combination skin type that is very very acne prone. I get redness every now and then, but with the right products, I usually don't.. but breakouts are something I tend to not be able to control I use clarisonic, philosophy and sulwhasoo peels for exfoliating about 2 times a week, but I feel like its not enough to deep clean for pores especially in the summer. I have in the past used Fresh umbrian clay and PTR sulfur mask from what I can remember on top of my head. I loved the umbrian clay mask, but found it to be very dehydrating.. PTR sulfur mask on the other hand barely did anything.. oh and Glam glow was way too irritating for my skin.. can anyone please recommend a good clay mask that I can use for the purpose of drawing out impurities and keeping my skin a bit more clear? thank you in advance!
Hi, I received a birthday gift Item number 1569847 , I added it to my shopping bag as i was ordering something else. I am curious to know what's in it and wanted to know the shades.. Do I have the option to choose the shade of lipstick I wish ?
Hi everyone, I was wondering what you would recommend for a SUPER shiny, glossy lip gloss that makes your lips look wet, juicy, reflective and maybe even give a fuller effect to lips... ? I prefer non-sticky glosses and maybe not too much glitter in it. I would like to use it over lipstick so color pay off isn't too much of a deal to me. plumping glosses are okay with me too I have tried mac dazzle glass and they were shiny but tooooo sticky and gloppy and the ingredients in it are not the best :/ I have the buxom glosses, which are my favorite as of now because they have a tingle and are quite glossy but still not as shiny as i want. nars was nicely formulated but not glossy I was thinking about dior glosses , lancome juicy tubes, or the new soap & glory xxl pillow plump that is exclusive for vib's right now. What are your thoughts ? Any help is appreciated thank you all so much! <3
As soon as the Makeup Geek store restock their blushes, I'm placing an order. I am not familiar with their eyeshadow, which ones do you love/hate? What do you use it for (crease, highlight, blending, etc.)?
I have bought sooo many lippies here lately, especially when bite rereleased their double ended lippiesvand the 4 pack of lip stick, Marc Jacobs released his, and of course Kat von d recent release, I've amassed quite a few lippies and have at least 5 more coming! (The UPS man hates me!) Sooooo I need advice from you guys on how to organize them. I will say my eyesight is awful so I cant read the colors on the bottom of the lippies. I have an ikea table with 5 drawers with drawer organizers from bed bath and beyond, but they are getting full! I noticed curiouscannible had hers in acrylic stackable thing. Good idea but, should I organize them by brand, or color?? And if by color, what about the double ended bite ones? So come on guys, give me your secrets!!
I use Guerlain's Lingerie de Peau liquid foundation and on lazy days the LDP BB. I usually use the BB with my fingers (which I hate, but that's what the instructions say) and the foundation with my MAC 190 (flat domed synthetic brush). I've read good things about MAC 187 (stippling brush) which I also have but I just can't see how that works. I have very good results with the 190, but it seems that this style brush is falling out of favor and I'm not sure why. Is there another good brush I can try or should I just stick with the 190 if it's working for me - no streaks, perfect even application, etc. I'm always looking out for the "next best thing" and I guess I'm curious as to what that is.
I've finished my jar of the Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment a few weeks ago and am still hesitating whether to rebuy it or not. I really like the Kiehls one to use under makeup as it hydrates my eye area and makes the fine lines under my eyes less noticeable and the fact that it doesn't irritate my eyes if I put it too close. I've been using the Algenist Eye Renewal Balm and have noticed that my eye area looks dry when makeup is applied over top. Should I just go back to Kiehls or maybe try another eye cream? Another one I am considering of getting is the Bobbi Brown Hydrating eye cream since it does have the word "hydrating" in its name.
I want to get into contouring and I have light skin with pink undertones. I've heard good things about Anastasia's Contour Kit and Smashbox's as well but I'm at a loss here. What are your recommendations? Am I better off buying a highlighter and bronzer (I don't want orange!) or going for a kit. Do the kits work well for light skin? From reviews I've read I think kits tend to lean more towards medium complexions? Let me know what you recommend as far as products go. I prefer matte powders. Thanks!
ok this is going to probably be a really slow question to ask on a beauty thread , because i should probably already know and all that buuuttttt.... how do you tell if you have oily, dry,or combination skin ? When I'm shopping for foundation and they ask I'm usually just like i don't know but it does not seem like anyone can help me I know sometimes i get oily but not all the time so I'm just really confused >.< so guyss how can i tell ( sorry again for the dumb question lol)
I tried many foundations (acc to me) from drugstore to high end, but any foundation didn't match me i tried sephora color IQ test thrice, it suggested me stilla foundation, i bought it hoping it would suit, but it made me look dark at least one to two shades dark being asian, never want to look dark, when i remove foundation half side, i can clearly see dark and light shades of my face recently tried Dior foundation also, same problem. I have combi- dry skin, with very oily t-zone and very dry cheeks, i am 26. Please suggest me good foundation which has many shades, that i can find one which suits my color perfectly, like second skin.
