Hi there! Just wondering what everyone was looking to purchase for their mothers for the upcoming holiday? Beauty or non-beauty - I'm looking for some inspiration . My mother, after having a brain tumor ~10 years ago has become quite sensitive to lots of products. She tried my Clinique "Even Better Eyes" and she said it stung! She doesn't wear a whole lot of makeup, but sometimes may apply a smidgen of eyeshadow or some lipstick. Even fragrance wise, she either wears Chanel's eau de toilette (one of the "exclusifs" that Sephora doesn't sell) or Armani's Aqua di Gio (yes, men's cologne), which I totally refuse to buy for her / endorse because that also happened to be my ex boyfriend's fragrance of choice and I'm now averse to that smell lol. At Christmas, I bought her a gift set of hand lotions (which I'm sure she still has plenty of) so I'm trying to think of something different!
I know theres been a lot of threads on SPF but I need an SPF for my face. Last year, most of my pics came back with a white face on me. Ive determined its my spf. Id like an SPF for my face that is as high as can be (30+), tinted preferably , and that wont leave a white cast or flash in pictures. Does such a product exist? Thx for ur help!
ok so im interested in getting the giorgio armani luminous silk but my closest sephora is a jcp.. they dont have them and last time i got a foundation based on coloriq it was too light, so i was wondering any of you in the shade LIGHT MEDIUM SAND in TARTE or N30 in the COVERFX DROPS that could help me? im really interested in the giorgio but if you use the estee double wear id appreaciate recomendations!
does anyone have recommendations on skincare products for blackheads? I have them mostly on my cheek and it Is really unbearable, I've tried using lush's mask and although my face feels fresh after, no difference in the blackheads
Hi, Scent Lovers! My Mom loves No. 4711. What scents, if any, are similar to 4711? I'm not looking for a dupe, but I would like to stay in the same scent family. This is how the fragrance is described: The precious ingredients are carefully harmonised. Bergamot, lemon, and orange provide a uniquely revitalising effect. Lavender and rosemary have a calming and relaxing effect, strengthening the nerves. Neroli, extracted from the blossom of the bitter orange, has a calming effect in the base note, creating a positive mood.
anyone know what color the oil free" bisque " spf 20 is laura mercier? in winter I use porcelain. nude is too yellow, blush is too pink. I have freckles and blue eyes and fair to light skin with pink and yellow and blue tones . I wondered if bisque might be good for when my face colors up a bit?
I went into my local store just to browse the Surratt line. While I was there I decided to look at the Becca Complexion Creme. I already knew which color to select (Olive) when an associate came over and asked if I'd like to be color matched. I agreed. Boy, oh boy she said I had have red undertone. RED?! I didn't say anything, but when she said my match in Becca would be "mink", I did what "Miranda" did in Devil Wears Prada , and pursed my lips. Why such a big dispariety ? I am "Olive" in the particular formula. Lesson learned "don't always trust the color IQ",
Anyone else remember the Sephora Collection bath & body products in Tropical Jasmine?? It is the most amazing scent. I stocked up on the Dry Oil Spray (my fav) when I knew it was being discontinued. Now I only have half a bottle left which I hoard and use only on special occasions. So Sephora, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the tropical jasmine scent. I would do anything for any product in that scent!

So, I'm somewhat new to this whole makeup thing. I'm 20 years old, with fair, combination-oily skin. My cheeks tend to be red and sensitive also. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a foundation or bb cream for my skin, and also a light powder to finish it off. I've tried Clinique's almost powder and it seems to cake on my face, and shows every line. I'm looking for something that isn't extremely heavy on my face since it's almost summer. Also if you have any recommendations for a lip stain or lipstick that will stay put all day and not run, that would be great.
I want to purchase some new eyeshadow and eyeliner. I have blond hair, blue eyes, fair skin with pink undertones and rosacea. Hooded eyelids/aging eyes. At 45 I am showing signs of aging and not sure what colors I should be wearing to flatter my skin tone, enhance my blue eyes and are good for my aging eyes. Often times my eyes look tired. I have no idea what colors to wear. I do have trouble with my shadows creasing and liners running. I do not like to wear waterproof products due to my delicate lashes. Any suggestions?
I just received my order of Sunday Riley's "Start Over" eye treatment. I've used the product before and my last bottle reads "Active Eye Cream" but this new one reads "Active Eye Gel Cream." Does anyone know if this is the same product? Have they changed the formula? The packaging is different from my old one (bought in January) so I was wondering if it is the same. Thanks!
I was wondering if they are going to be released together or when? I seem to recall reading that the blush/lip pots were a summer item and the cream shadows a fall item but not certain. Anyone have any further information? Thanks!
How do i pick the right concealer for my skin tone when they dont have the same shade as my foundation, I wear makeup forever in marble but they dont have that shade in concealer, they have a darker one with the same undertone (which i know going darker is a makeup nono) but the lighter ones all have pink undertones. Is it bad to go for a pink undertone in a concealer?
Hi, I am currently using ELDW in 2C1 and would like to change to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation. What would be a good color match. I was using ELDW in 2N1 but it is a little yellow for my skin. Thank-You so much for your assistance!
It's live chat day on BeautyTalk! Today we're chatting with Josie Maran and Susanne Langmuir, the founder of Bite Beauty. It's Susanne's first time on BeautyTalk, so give her a good welcome (and feel free to suggest new colors for the upcoming lippies of the month...I know you want to ).
The chat is open now for BTers, so head on over to ask a question!

So while browsing here in BT I have noticed a lot of us having issues and horror stories about finding the correct foundation match, have love hate relationships with certain brands/colors. I remember going through so many sample/purchases of hoping this will be something I like or will be my HG foundation, but would wind up in disappointment . The frustrations of trying to find not only the right shade, but also the tone/coverage and ingredients that make us feel comfortable and look good on the skin. Ohh how many counters I visited and tried so many brands in order to find the one. I mean it is sometimes so exhausting - because sometimes MUA's not listening your preferences (ex: I am on a warmer side and with slightly yellowish undertone and I am given a sample of cool/pink /neutral foundation) or also the lighting the stores sometimes is no help. Other times when we ask for samples so we can try it at home and in natural lighting to see if it is the perfect color match and coverage MUA's/SA's give us a tiny sample - which barely covers our whole face/enough for one try and other times they are very generous about it or the look we get "oh she is just wants a sample and not buying anything!!!" On top of that we always have to worry about the seasons changing and us trying to find a shade lighter or darker. So let's share the stories and your ways of finding the right shade/tone of the foundation.
Hi beauties! I'm going to Toronto this weekend with my friend who has never set a foot in a sephora store. We live 8 hours north of Toronto. So with that being said, I want to bring her to the best sephora store! Could you please tell me wich store you like the best and why! (Yorkdale, Eaton center, Square one) also im not very good on highways so which store is the easiest to get to without getting lost!
hey! so recently i've been loving this new foundation. prior to finding it, i was obsessed with Double Wear. Just looking to hear people's thoughts on the new foundation/if anyone has has switched from Double Wear to this! <3
Ok, so I have been looking around at new ideas for eye makeup When googling, I came across the smashbox eye shape recommendations, which seem pretty popular. I had always believed my eyes were round, so I tried their round recommendations. I got a bit frustrated since these recommendations are clearly for people who do NOT have prominent lids (I have prominent lids). Everything is VERY light with little eyeliner, and I was looking washed out. Last night I came across the video they have for determining eye shape and now they say I have one almond eye and one downturned eye. Thinking that the downturned eye needs the most help I went with those recommendations for day, but the wash out issue is way worse, since in their opinion people with downturned lids should use even less liner. Has anyone else had this issue? When I look at the videos, the concepts seem great, but in real life it just doesn't seem to work.
Oh god. Today, I tried out Benefit Hello Flawless foundation sample I've got weeks ago. Recently, I was actively searching for a foundation that suits me better than Nars Sheer glow and was considering between Chanel and TF. When I applied this HF foundation, I thought I found my HG foundation. It was really the best foundation I've ever worn...so smooth, right coverage, my skin looked flawless! and... After washing my face, I found some red bumpy breakouts (whitehead-ish, something you can easily pop up, not a big inflammatory one) on my face...and when was the last time this happened to me? It was when I used Bare Minerals mineral powder foundation. Wait, is this Bismuth Oxychloride? I did my research, and yes, there you are! I'm just so sad. I immediately ordered this foundation from Sephora since I just knew! it's the perfect foundation..but didn't know that it's that plus Bismuth Oxychloride. I was just a step away, and now I know I have to return it. SO SAD!
Hi! I was wanting to try a Mercier tinted moisturizer but since I am a fair redhead and I know I'm tough to match I'm not sure which shade to order. I use Make Up Forever HD in 110 in winter and 115 in summer if that helps. Have any ideas?
Hello! I have been looking for a new skin care regimine and have been out of luck after buying expensive recommendations that do nothing at all. My skin is very dry but I don't like an extremely dewy look with my makeup! I have heard of the Sanitas skin care and although it is not well known I have heard great reviews, has anyone tried this line or have a recommendation for other products in an dry skin care routine?
