Hey guys, I subscribe to Ipsy and received a Pop Beauty lip gloss in my February box. The color was beautiful but it smelled off, like burnt plastic of some sort. Regardless, I tried it on my lips just to review the color and it tasted terrible. I thought that the product was supposed to be that way, so I put it aside and decided not to use it. Then I saw someone post on BeautyTalk that they manufacture the mini samples in Asia and the full size in the US. I figured the company was outsourcing but I didn't really care since I am not really of fan of Pop Beauty to begin with. Pop Beauty finally posted this on their Facebook: "Dear Ipsters, Unfortunately some of you received a POP Plump Pout Mini with an “off” taste or smell as part of the IPSY send-out in February. We want to address this issue and explain exactly what we have been doing about it. First and foremost we want to assure you that all of the ingredients used in the Plump Pout Mini, which are listed on the shrink wrap on the product packaging, are FDA approved and 100% safe for use. The reason for the disparity between the ingredients listed on the product packaging and the website is that the full size version of the Plump Pout Mini is manufactured in the USA, while the Mini is manufactured in Taiwan. We recently reformulated the product, and our factory in Taiwan used the new formula to make the Mini. We apologise if you have had a negative experience with this gloss. We have never encountered a problem of this nature with our products, and we assure you that we are taking this very seriously. If you feel that you have received a defective Plump Pout Mini, please do not hesitate to e-mail POP’s customer service at the e-mail address below. We guarantee that every e-mail will receive a response. Yours sincerely, POP beauty email@example.com" I've read several posts about people complaining to POP and Ipsy and were able to receive replacements, so I just wanted to spread the info!
I have combination skin with a very oily T-Zone. Im 16 years old and obviously don't have a lot of money to spend on makeup. What would you suggest to use? (Suggest high end and drug store) I'm currently using covergirl outlast 3 in 1 but I am pretty fair skinned and this foundation OXIDIZES on me. so I want something that has decent coverage but will match up and blend well, and last long without me getting oily. thanks !
I just turned 30 and have been using OH Truth Serum for a few months. I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $40 to switch to Caudalie's Firming Serum? The price tag is really steep, and I'm curious to know if it is really that much better. Any feedback is appreciated.
i was interested in the kat von d lock it foundation, and concealer because i seen youtube videos and i love the flawless full coverage it gives. i have severe scars and acne to cover up. MY routine is to shower wash my face and moisturize, but for about 4 hours im super flaky and dry even with applying moisturizer, BUT therafter im a complete greaseball and i think i look so gross i hate it, i see flaky seperation with my foundation in my tzone. btw i use porefessional from benifet for my primer on my face.... please help,
Heat styling. We all do it, yet we all know it's not the best for our hair (it's a vicious cycle). So when I heard about Agave's new Healing Vapor Healing Iron that conditions while heat styling your hair, I had to know more! I talked Fernando Romero, founder of Agave, about this brilliant new innovation, and how you can get healthy hair from the same plant that gives us tequila (!!).
Where does Agave Oil come from and what about it makes it so great for your hair (especially compared to the other kinds of oils out there)?
Agave Oil is born out of the leaves of the Blue Webber Agave plant, found in Mexico, and also happens to be the species of Agave plant selected by Tequila manufacturers. It is so precious that it takes 7 years to harvest.
The Agave plant leaves contain Amino sugars that help hydrate and moisturize hair, making it look shiny and healthier. What makes Agave Oil different is that it hydrates and conditions without weighing down hair. You can use Agave Oil on all hair types – including fine hair, and you won’t experience greasy, heavy results that are often found with other oils.
How did you discover all of Agave Oil’s great benefits? When I was a small boy growing up in Mexico, my grandmother shared the secret of the Agave plant’s high sugar content, and its hair & skin healing properties.
The Agave plant survives all types of weather in the high mountains of Mexico - hot, dry and humid during the day and very cold at night, and it has to hang on to every drop of moisture. Agave Oil uses this same hydrophilic (water loving) technology, infusing moisture deep into dry, damaged or frizzy hair.
Let’s talk about your new Healing Vapor Iron . What makes this iron better for your hair than typical methods of heat styling?
Regular irons can dehydrate and damage the hair – especially those that heat up to 450F. The Agave Vapor Iron is the first iron to condition while you style your hair. By infusing the Agave extract into the hair shaft, we’re conditioning as we style. The Leave-in Vapor Infusion conditioner in the refillable iron cartridge gets vaporized, micronized and sealed into hair, for sleek shiny hair on a deeper level. It’s like a conditioner with a cord.
The Vapor Iron uses “NanoIonic plates” to help you get a smooth sleek look. NanoIonic plates sound like something out a sci-fi movie. What are they, exactly? The iron plates are infused with a patented NanoIonic mineral complex, which hydrates, conditions and protects your hair from heat damage and drying out, making it feel smooth and look shiny. The mineral complex emits natural ions that have been shown to micronize water molecules, making them smaller, so they more easily penetrate the hair shaft. This deeper level of hydration helps to eliminate frizz until your next shampoo and helps heal split ends.
What kind of regimen would you recommend to maintain beautiful healthy hair, especially with frequent heat styling?
Daily use of the Sulfate-free Agave Shampoo and Paraben-free Conditioner is a great start. After shampooing, towel dry, then work Agave Oil Treatment though the hair in the mid-lengths and distribute though the rest of the hair using your fingers. Blow dry with a professional dryer and paddle brush. Use the Iron two to three times a week to treat your hair to a Vapor-Iron conditioning & style experience. And if you have static or fly-aways, apply a little Vapor Infusion or a Agave oil Treatment to eliminate them.

I have tried everything at this point to stop the oil from forming on my forehead. Nothing seems to work. Not even setting powder. I have changed face washes and even wash my face in the morning when I wake up. This is starting to drive me bonkers. Any suggestions on how to stop the oil from forming in my t-zone. Any products that work well? Please help me out here.
Hi- I'd love advice on a couple of things: -What's the best concealer for dark circles? And also what's a good brush to put it on with? -Also what's a good powder to minimize pores, hide fine lines, and ideally give a little bit of a glow/glimmer? Thanks, Jessica
There was someone who was going to do a foils/small sample TSB. I do not believe that person is still going to do it. If they are, I apologize and will not do one. I have been in two boxes and loved it but I have never started one. If anyone is still interested, I am willing to try to start one. We can use the same rules from the other TSB. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Also we need to decide if we want to do this with a small flat rate box (I believe shipping is around $6.00) or a medium flat rate box (I believe shipping is around 13.00). If you are going to participate, please be prepared for the shipping costs! This box is open for US shipping only. Shipping becomes more expensive for Canada. Once we decide if we want to do a small or medium box I will post pics of what I will start the box out with. If at that time someone decides they don't like what I am starting the box out with just let me know. I want this to be fun for all. Once I get the box back I will go through it & give the leftover items to the local youth group who works with the homeless shelters in Fredericksburg VA. I have been on BT off and on for a while, but I never really said much on here. For the past two years or so I've mainly watched makeup videos on YouTube, and while they're fun to watch I had a hard time finding new products that worked for me. It was easier to learn techniques by watching the videos, but I was dissapointed in most of the makeup and skincare that I bought. So, I come here to BT and it's completely different! From hearing great reviews I have tried the Korres wild rose buff cleanser & sleeping facial, Nars eye primer, Marc Jacobs highliner, and Origins charcoal mask. They are all wonderful! My skin has not looked this good in years! I have had a great time on here the past few months and just wanted to say thank you! I hope BT stays like this for a long time!
i have the weirdest eyes, they might not be that noticeable to other people but i feel like it is. one of my eyes are slightly bigger than the other and is slightly longer. what can i do to make my eyes look somewhat even?
I was on Reddit's Makeup Addiction and user MyLittleLabMonkey posted a sneak preview of the new Too Faced Summer Collection. I didn't find a previous discussion on it, so sorry if it's a repost! All I could find is that the launch date is in April. First pics are from reddit, the last one I found on a UK site. Found some more info on the UK site: Too Faced Summer 2014 Collection A La Mode Eyes Palette – New This new eyeshadow palette features 9 new shades. Lately I've been bored with my makeup , ive watched Sephora , youtube videos. Pinterest , tumblr ect. pictures for natural makeup (for high school) but nothing getting my inspired or giving me ideas! any looks you go back to over and over?
Hey all! As I'm sure I've stated before, I have recently become a student again for the first time in a decade... it's great for my future, but horrible, HORRIBLE on my current financial situation. I am not able to afford a haircut right now, and my hair is doing some strange, strange things. No matter what I do ( clarifying shampoos, cowashing, kendi oil, deep conditioning ), the bottom half of my hair is a dried out mess, and my roots are flat as a board. Does anyone have some maintenance/styling tips for me until I can make it to the salon? I am becoming so sick of throwing my gross hair into a bun!
Has anyone figured out how these mailers are generated? Every month a mailer goes out to pick up the deluxe sample of the month at Sijcp. Last month it was a vinyl drawstring bag filled with about 5 deluxe samples. No purchase is necessary. I figured I would ask here since no one from Sephora or JCPenny can figure it out.
My name is Bombshell and I continue to be an eyeshadow addict enthusiast !! However, five weeks ago I began a quest to actually start using my mountains and mountains of palettes and shadows. Along with some awesome ladies who have joined in I have committed to using the same palette 5 days in a row and posting the results at the end of five days. Those with single shadows are welcome to join in as well! If you are interested in the original rules & lists posted they can be found in off topic, (take the challenge: palette parade). the gist of it is make a list, plan to show all your shadows love for extended period of time (5days), if you hate it first day move on. I am also planning to add weeks of singles by brand (Stila week, UD week, Nars week). I think instead of posting and editing lists it would be easier to report what we plan to use at the beginning of the week and the report the results at the end. We meet here at the end of the week to discuss what we wore for the week, how it worked for us and most importantly to share pictures and advice! Anyone can join as we all started at different times and have different numbers of palettes, and will finish at different times. I am looking at 38 (?) more weeks if I don't buy one more palette! Xoxo I look forward to more fun parading with all you girls! I am looking for a gentle exfoliator to use on the night i do not use my clarisonic. I was something that wont dry my skin or irritate it and can help remove death skin and with my uneven skin tone. I do not use my clarisonic on the days i dont wear makeup u just use my Philosophy Purity cleanser. I have these two in mind if anyone has tried them and can let me know how it works.
Hi ladies, Is it weird that I use other items like dark brown eyeshadow as a bronzer? it shows up on my skin a lot better and you don't have to use such a heavy hand because it's already really pigmented saving you product! I like to use other eyeshadows as a highlight or cream blush as a lip color (though it can be a little drying). Does anyone else do this? Also, what items do you multipurpose with? xoxo, Kelly saving money YAY
Hey, im 15 and have i combination skin (oily in the t-zone). Every time I apply foundation, it never seems to smudge and if i try my begins to be very dry and irritated. Is there any thing that can fix this problem? Also, applying moisturizes never seems to help.

I recently purchased something online and chose the good genes treatment serum (?) as one of my sample options.. I tried it a few days ago as a mask.. (as instructed on the back) so I applied a thick layer and waited 20 minutes before washing it off.. It almost was hurting when it was on my face, but I thought its going to do something amazing (because it has a good rating and a steep price).. but instead when I washed it off, it was the worst thing that happened to me. It gave me this strawberry red color on my cheeks, the largest and most visible pores that I've ever seen on my skin, and very very rough to touch texture of my skin... a portion of my skin also ripped off.. and everytime I apply a moisturizer over it, some kind of clear liquid comes out.. I also have white heads now.. I honestly don't know what to do.. because.. I never had this kind of issue before.. and nothing seems to help.. I hate how my pores are accentuated when I wear makeup even if I wear a primer now.. because its that big and accentuated..
I have a LOT of long, fine, stick straight hair. I've finally had it with my two curling irons (1 1/4" and 3/4") and am going to buy a 1". I can't decide between the Hot Tools and the Bombshell. My 1 1/4" curling iron is a Hot Tools and while the curls look great initially, they fall out of my hair extremely quickly. The 3/4" curls (old Conair) stay but they are way too tight and just don't loosen up enough - and with a lot of hair, the barrel is just too small to be able to curl large enough pieces. So I guess my question is, if the 1 1/4" Hot Tools curls fall out of my hair faster than I can walk out the door, can I expect the 1" Hot Tools barrel to be any different or should I take the plunge on the Sultra Bombshell?
