I have very oily acne prone skin, what is the best setting spray to use? I've tried the Urban Decay Deslick with little results. Also what is a good setting powder to use over the Kat Von D lock it foundation and the kat von d powder?
C'mon, let's admit it, we've all hidden make-up or made up what we use to our family. Remember the days for some of us where we had to pretend we didn't wear make-up and we put a lipstick under the bed so mom wouldn't see? Or lied about how much you've spent? Welcome to: Make-Up Confessions! (Just please don't tell my grandma about my extensive Guerlain collection! I think she may have saw the packaging though...) My grandma prefers I use cheaper make-up from drugstores... oh man, that VIB card is not going to make her happy...
So with all the discussion about makeup confessions, hauls, and new TSBs, we know that we all have a serious hobby and addiction to beauty. But how do you store them in your home? Do you like how you've organized your makeup collection? Do you have the space for them? How about your space for prepping and putting on your makeup? What would you change, if you could? Honestly, with me... I've had to make a lot of compromises and make the best out of what I have to work with! I live in a very old home, over 200 years old. I love it to pieces and I wouldn't trade it for anything. BUT it kind of lacks some of the modern conveniences that newer homes have. I don't have many good storage solutions yet, my closet space is almost nonexistent, and I'm currently using an entire room with built-in shelves to display my shoe collection. I don't yet have a proper makeup vanity, and my full-sized bathroom is laid out very poorly and does not have good ventilation, so I don't like to store my makeup in there. Instead I have cleared out the drawers in my night stand and do my best to organize my makeup in there. When I go to put it on, I grab what I need and transfer it to my bathroom, where I apply my makeup -- luckily with tons of natural light! -- on tiptoe so I can peer into my too-high and too-small vanity mirror. I can't set makeup out on top of my mirrored dresser/vanity because I have a very bratty cat that likes to wake us up every morning by pushing things off of dressers and tables, and I have nightmares that I would wake up to a shattered Lingerie de Peau bottle on my wood floors. Let's just say that we fully intend to renovate that bathroom once we've set aside enough money for it, lol! In my fantasy land, I would have a well-lit vanity space with six large makeup drawers, a padded bench, and a makeup mirror. Heck, I'd have a whole bathroom just for preparing my makeup every day! More realistically, in the short term, I am going to buy Muji acrylic makeup drawers or similar makeup organizers and really keep things looking pretty in my drawers. I'd also like to buy some bathroom storage solutions (cheaper solutions, since we are saving for a renovation) to better organize my bathroom sink and vanity, and of course, I think a good makeup mirror is in my near future. How about all of you? Are you happy with how you manage your cosmetics? Any pictures or storage ideas to share, for people with limited space? I'm curious!

I was on Reddit's Makeup Addiction and user MyLittleLabMonkey posted a sneak preview of the new Too Faced Summer Collection. I didn't find a previous discussion on it, so sorry if it's a repost! All I could find is that the launch date is in April. First pics are from reddit, the last one I found on a UK site. Found some more info on the UK site: Too Faced Summer 2014 Collection A La Mode Eyes Palette – New This new eyeshadow palette features 9 new shades. Bonjour Soleil Palette – New & Limited Edition Shades: Chocolate Soleil – mate bronzer Sun Bunny – natural bronzer Snow Bunny – luminous bronzer Brow Envy Palette – Includes two eyebrow powders, setting wax and a brow highlighter Liquid Lipstick – Available in 6 rich and pigmented shades with a long-wearing formula. Natural Eyes – Is a revamped of the best seller palette of nine richly-pigmented shadows that pair perfectly and blend beautifully Pardon My French Set – New Includes: Bonjour Summer Eye Shadow Palette Perfect Eyes Eyeliner Waterproof in Perfect Black (Full Size) 24-hour wear Shadow Insurance (Deluxe Sample) Waterproof Lash Injection Mascara (Deluxe Sample) I'm excited for the bronzer & eyeshadow palette. Been trying to die Too Faced products. What do you guys think? :EDIT: "been trying to die" wowwww... it's been a long day. I meant to type "been dying to try." Hahha
I've recently heard how facial serums are very important in the skin care routine. How does everyone feel about them? Are they necessary? Do you use a serum? if so, which one? I tried a sample of Sunday Riley's good genes, it burned at first but left my skin looking amazing, but not for $105 :/ I have extremely dry skin and have to moisturize thoroughly.
I'd love to know what you gals (or maybe guys) use or suggest as a primer. In addition to longevity I'm looking something with a smoothing effect for pores and baby wrinkles. I am finishing up my Stila color correcting primer which did nothing for my slight redness but it def gave staying power. I had been waiting for months for sephora to restock illamasqua hydra veil buttttt it seems like they won't be restocking it at all. And I don't want to pay the ridiculous taxes and shipping to have it sent from the UK. I was looking at the Clarins or too faced. Any suggestions??
And it's my first play session. I used the Abnegation eye palette, the blush palette, and the Temptation Choice lipgloss. The pics were taken before eye liner and mascara so the colors are easier to see. I just put on my foundation, concealer, eyeshadow primer, and then the Divergent line. On my eyes, I put Golden Honesty in the crease, Intrepid Moss on the inner half of the lid, Bold Expresso on the outside half, and Altruistic Almond as the highlighter. I put Transform over everything dry and then I wet the brush to apply a second layer of it to the lid only. Basically, the Transform shade added a layer of silver glitter. It's very messy dry, so I suggest the wet application method. I found the eyeshadows had a good color payoff with little fallout using primer. On my cheeks, I used Obscure Coral with the highlighter and bronzer. The brush included works well for contouring and is a basic, decent quality brush but nothing to swoon over. The eyeshadow side of the brush was a little large I felt, so I only used it for the transformation shade at the end. I used my Too Faced brushes for the rest. On my lips, I placed just a coat of lipgloss. The color comes out very sheer and isn't sticky. It has mint in it, so it was too irritating for me to wear personally because I'm sensitive to that. I'd love to see the looks others come up with for this line! Please share!
Hello! Like many others, I am on the hunt for the best foundation for my skin type. I am 34, I have very oily, acne prone, and somewhat sensitive skin. I have worn foundation most of my life and have tried lots of products. I am currently using Hourglass Immaculate Liquid to Powder Foundation...which I like a lot...I feel like it looks flawless and natural until midday - then it starts looking cakey and greasy. Bare Minerals Matte is a good go-to for me. I like Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light, but I find it so hard to remove at the end of the day, which makes me think it can't be good for my skin. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions! Side note, I'm a big believer that good skin care and skin prep is vital to any foundation's performance, so I do take really good care of my skin. I rarely breakout anymore, but I'm looking to cover uneven skin tone and post acne marks. I'd say medium coverage. Thanks in advance for any insight!
I feel eye shadow is the most universal item. So many colors, brand, prices. But, even if eye shadow is not your favorite you crave more. Last year I bought stila in the lights, Bh cosmetics's party girl. Now I want Too Face Chocolate Bar, The Divergent Multi collection, Naked Basics, Naked 3. Anyone else have a hard time finding a reason for more.
So, last weekend a couple of friends and I decided to go to a bar/club in town to hang out. I got way dolled up and, in the process, discovered a new style of lipstick application that I love! And to be frank, I discovered in completely by accident while trying to decide what color to wear. So, I'm wondering, does anyone else wear this style occasionally? (Weird and awkward selfie included to show off what I mean! Not to mention, I'm a camera queen. )
Exactly what the title says I know we've chatted about this before, but I thought I'd revive the topic with a new thread. With Chic Week coming up and new collections/products/lines dropping what feels like every day, what brands (collections, too, since Sephora's offering can be limited at the brand's discretion) do you wish you saw on shelves? For me, it would be Chanel, Tom Ford, and YSL's Spring collection. Chanel's Illusion d'Ombres (cream shadows) and Glossimers (lip glosses) are calling to me with their siren song, as are Tom Ford's lippies, quads and contour palettes (however exorbitantly priced!!!). I love YSL lippies, so I wish the new colors got some love here at Sephora. Oh, and while we're on the subject, ByTerry and Chantecaille wouldn't hurt, either! I adore both, and don't own nearly enough of either!
Alright so I don't know what the trick is to find a proper concealer or for that matter any foundation for my skin tone. I had a beauty consultant who helped find me a tarte concealer but I find its really heavy and it looks a little darker than my tinted moisturizer itself. Really confused on how to nail getting correct products for my skin tone. The two products im using are: smashbox camera ready BB cream (light/medium) tarte maracuja concealer (tan) Do have heard that your concealer can be a shade lighter or two?
I recently had my color IQ captured at a store and I am a 1Y02. One of the matches that comes up is for Marc Jacobs Beauty Marvelous Mousse Transformative Foundation in Color 12 Ivory - for very fair complexion w/pink to beige undertone. I think I might like to try Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation, but the colors are listed without the nice descriptors like the Mousse variety. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what color would be the closest match? Thanks in advance for your advice!
I have recently been reading an article that said wearing blue eyeshadow makes you look like a clown so NEVER wear blue eye shadow. So no blue eye shadow at ALL! Well I highly disagree with this. Blue is a graceful color. If you wear it and put it on right it won't make you look like a clown! I wear blue eyeshadow when its night time.
Hi! I would like a recomendation to choose a foundation for my wedding day! It will be taking place in the summer, so I need something to stick on my face but still look like myself. I have combination skin, and a little bit of redness. And im pretty sure it will be hot that day, so I dont want to be oily-shiny. Hope you can help me!! I was thinking about studio skin 15 hour wear foundation, but im not pretty sure! I linked a photo of myself so you can have an idea, I have make up on, and the other one with the pink t-shirt with no makeup at all HEEEELP!
Any of you tried one, or both of these pretties? I am trying to decide between the two, as they look pretty similar in pictures. I love the Chanel but I get points and dollars towards Rouge requalification if I choose the Dior, so....decisions, decisions!
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a drugstore moisturizer that wont clog my pores or make me more oily? I kind of want to save my money for chic week and I need a moisturizer like yesterday because I'm out! I have combo skin that leans a little more towards oily (T zone). I have a few dry patches on my chin and sometimes my cheeks. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I can't decide what powder foundation buy, I have the MUFE Pro finish powder foundation (I'm the shade 117 golden ivory) I have very oily skin and I feel the pro finish don't do much against that. Which one do you recommend?
I'm having a hard time finding a foundation with those characteristics. I'd like to find a foundation that has a good shade range for yellow/golden medium skin that is long lasting for long work days. I was recommended the hourglass immaculate foundation but it was honestly too powdery and cakey even with a beauty blender and the 'yellow' shades were still too pink for me. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
