Ok, so I have seen people comment in various threads about items they would like to see coming out for the Holidays. That gave me an idea, and after trying a couple of searches and coming up with nothing, I decided to pose these questions to everyone on Beauty Talk: If you could create your own Sephora Favorites set, what would it be? Or, if you were asked to create the next amazing palette, what brand(s) would you use and what would be in it? These are just starting points, but lets all get creative! If it were up to us, the consumers, what awesome things could be created to get everyone excited? I will start things off! If I could create a palette for Hourglass, it would be a large palette (but not TOO large) that has all of the Ambient powders and all of the Ambient blushes. They would be smaller in size, but a great way to try them all and play around! Or could make 2, each with all the Ambient powders then add blushes for warm skin tones in one palette with blushes for cool skin tones in the other. What are your ideas?
Have you guys seen these?! There are tons of shades and finishes to choose from, and you can build your own palette! I can't wait to try these; I wonder if Sephora will carry all of the shades? There are so many and I'd really like to go in and test a good chunk of them. http://www.sephora.com/artist-shadow-P387670?skuId =1622745
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
They are now available for purchase for rouge members. I didn't know they would come up with 2 different palettes and it took me completely by surprise. my wallet was not prepared for this! I am so weak to my Vices. If you could get only one vice palette this year, which one would you choose?
This hasn't been started yet so I'll give it a go. Today is the last day that SiJCP has an extra 25% off clearance so I stopped in to poke around before I start up the smoker for tonight. I grabbed all these goodies for $30.
Hi all!!! I want a daytime moisturizer that is gentle on my skin but that will improve it over time (not just coat it with silicones) and even my skin tone / decrease pore size / smooth the skin (and also will prep for makeup!). I have oily skin with large pores and it does get sensitive at times. This is my current routine: Cleanser: either Algenist Gentle Cleanser or Philosophy Purity Gel Cleanser Toner: day=Michael Todd Organics Antibacterial Algae Moisturizing Toner night= Michael Todd Organics AHA/BHA exfoliating toner I CANNOT stand any moisturizer with sparkle too it... I wanted to love the Algenist Pore Refining Gel Moisturizer but there are freaking mica sparkles in it and they accentuate my pores ARGHH! Please help!!!! Also -- Is it OK to use moisturizers that contain oils on oily skin? Will they clog my pores? Sometimes I use Korres Rose Sleeping Facial at night and I feel like my skin drinks it uppppp but it's too heavy for a daytime moisturizer... Any suggestions would be a huge help xoxo.
Does anyone else struggle with using only "a pea size" amount of serums, moisturizers, retinol, etc? Whenever I try to use this elusive amount it never feels like it's enough to cover one cheek let alone my entire face! Maybe my face is just larger than average lol?
Sephora just teamed up with the best brush cleaner in the world Parian Spirit and there doesn't seem to be any reference to it on their website, like "new products." Not sure why they are trying to keep it a secret. It's called simply: Sephora "Citrush Brush Cleaner" by Parian Spirit. Same natural formulation with no preservatives. Cleans, conditions and disinfects your brushes. You just need a little bit and then dry it off completely with a terry cloth or paper towel. No water needed. Cleans all types of makeup, foundations, even latex, acrylic and glues for eyelashes. The ultimate professional grade product for your home use.
I've been on the Ipsy waiting list, but still look at the thread. I thought we could have a shared thread from all the subscription boxes (including non-beauty ones likes underpants and lifestyle such as Wantable and POPSugar). That way we can live vicariously through each others goodies! (I know there are unboxing videos on YouTube, but I do not have the patience to sit through a five minute video about someone apologizing for the state of their hair. And I know there are blogs where I can see photos, but everyone usually gets different items in their boxes)
Im 16 and have mildly sensitive skin. My skin is quite difficult to explain because it is acne/oily but it is also quite dehydrated because i disrupted the moister barrier from using products with harsh chemicals. I was hoping that someone could recommend a cleanser, toner, moisturizer and spot treatment for me. I also have a Clarisonic and prefer products that are natural and I do not want products that have harsh chemicals. Thank you so much
Recently I received a PM from Sephora thanking me for my participation on BT and offering to send me a free full sized gift. Today I received a full size NUDE Brightening Fizzy Powder Wash. http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?k eyword=nude%20brightening%20fizzy&skuId=1629286&pr ... The back says: This effervescent powder wash brightens skin for a glowing complexion with multiple sources of Vitamin C. Powerful enzymes work together with all-natural rose hip and vanilla seeds for skin-clearing exfoliation, eliminating dull skin and impurities. With omega-rich acai berry, Inca gold and virgin coconut oils, this treatment exfoliator smooths and softens while refining skin. Super pumped to try it tonight!
I have been haunting the HK section, hoping a few leftovers may turn up (Other than the two that are always there). Look what I found! Already signed up to be notified. Looking forward to seeing this collection, and I hope they have a launch party for Rouge!
I am very very simple when it comes to putting on makeup, and I am attending an outdoor wedding on October 4th at Ahmanson Ranch, which I guess is really really nice. I was wondering if there were any tips you could give me to just do a simple, but fresh and pretty look for an outdoor, country themed wedding... I am wearing a royal blue dress, beige heels, I have blue/green eyes, tan skin, and dirty blonde hair.
i've seen this type of question asked more generally, but i wanted to ask it specific to skincare. not only is it interesting to see what has really worked for people, but it'll maybe highlight some products others are interested in trying ! so: what are specific products that would cause you to hyperventilate were you to run out ? mine currently are: CLINIQUE take the day off cleansing balm FIRST AID BEAUTY facial radiance pads CAUDALIE beauty elixir AVEDA botanical kinetics hydrating face lotion i have steps that i would never skip that are not represented in the above list, but the products i use for those steps tend to be more interchangeable. additionally, a couple products that may reach HG status soon, but need a bit more time in my rotation: FIRST AID BEAUTY skin rescue purifying mask w/ red clay CLARINS blue orchid facial oil
Hello. I'm trying to get into the hang of makeup. I don't really own any brushes. I use a liquid foundation and just apply with hands at the moment. I have Mac's mineralize natural I apply with a sponge... please correct me on what brushes should be used. I want to buy a cheap basic brush set off ebay/amazon. They're like 12-pieces or something for less than $15. I just have no idea which ones are good for liquids, powders, contouring, eye blending (without you looking like a panda) etc. For example in e.l.f. Studio Brush set. They have a complexion, foundation (angled, pointed) , powder, stipple, fan, smudge brush, etc. So many! http://img2.buyincoins.com/gallery3/1/f3/55281/055 281-1-04.jpg If someone doesn't mind helping me be educated in this art, I truly appreciate it!
My love for Sephora continues. I was sent a comped, brand new, full sized Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel (launching 08-26-14) to review. I will use it for the first time tonight, so check back to this post if the product interests you.
Ok so I recently bought Bare Minerals original foundation...I figured it would be an easy foundation for days I don't feel like doing much. I put on a primer, liquid illuminator and a little bit of cream concealer then went to apply the foundation with the tarte airbrush finish brush (recommended by TiffanyD to use with this foundation) and it looked terrible! It went on patchy and clinged to dry spots that didn't exist before I put it on. I do have dry skin, but have learned to moisturize well before applying foundation. I feel like I made a crucial mistake somewhere along during the application because I know this is a very loved foundation by many people. Anyone have any ideas?
I need help with really bad dark circles. They are hereditary, no matter what I do they are not going anywhere. On top of that they are deep set. The concealer wears off very fast and it always ends up creasing. If that's not all, I have golden undertones. It is very difficult to find a color that matches my skin and it never looks right; I end up with a grayish shadow. I need help. I'm tired of looking tired with make up on.
I posted a previous post about starting a traveling box with samples and deluxe samples and a few ladies were interested in doing one! This is the 1st traveling box I am apart of and of course the 1st that I am starting. So, we need to decide if we are going to do a medium or small flat rate box. RULES No used items. No open items DO NOT take more than you put in. Let's keep this fun and fair DO NOT take multiples of the same sample PLEASE try not to keep the box more than 3 days Make sure to send your address to the person listed above you Once you send the box off, post the tracking number in this thread ALL unused items allowed (well maybe not nail polishes if it will make the shipping costs go up) Post a pic of what you take out, what you put in and what is left in the box before you send it off We are going to have fun and try to keep this going as long as we can! If you are interested in being in the box, I have a few spots left so post a pic of what samples you have in this thread to be added. To start off, we are only going to have 10 people! 1. CuriousCannibal 2. MegEm 3.MLLECC 4. tessie84 5. Kittichick 6. NicoleFrat 7. NightKnight 8. Sweetxteeth 9. Nishcakes 10. Kariyava
I have a pretty comfy makeup station and I do love me my products and I pretty much use everything from soup (primer) to nuts (setting spray). But I've noticed that instead of getting faster, I'm just getting slower and sloooower in my makeup application. I really enjoy the process of putting my makeup on - it's probably my favorite part of the day. But I feel like it's taking me a ridiculously long time to do my fairly simple everyday look (I don't vary how I do my makeup TOO much from day-to-day). So I used the timer on my phone for the past three days: 42, 50, and 52 minutes! Yikes! You ladies have seen my makeup. Nothing on my face should take 52 minutes! I know I take a long time doing my eyebrows - they're always a trouble spot for me. I'm going to TRY and speed myself up over the next few days so I can at least have more time to walk my dog in the mornings before work. So I'm curious...how long does it take YOU to do your makeup?
No matter how I do my makeup, I always look sick and/or tired, when actually, I'm wide awake and feel great. Could someone recommend some Eye, Cheek, Lippies that would help me out? I use #25 in MUFE's Mat Velvet foundation to give you a reference to my skin tone, I've got green eyes with light brown hair. I just can't seem to nail down a pretty & simple every day look for work. Thanks!
Hi there - I'm a huge consumer of mascara and eyeliner. I used to have a great face wash that could handle the chore of removing my eye makeup as well as clean my face, but it was discontinued. I want one product - a face wash - that can do the trick. I don't want to use eye makeup remover after I wash my face. Any thoughts?
