I know some people either love this or really dislike it. I'm in the in-between crowd where it doesn't irritate my skin but it doesn't really do much for it either. Anyways, i will be giving away a brand new jar of the mask. Sticking with the favorites theme, it will go to the person who can guess my favorite actor. Only for people living in the US. hint: its not a TV star.
with the popularity of the "skincare regrets" thread, i thought i'd make a post discussing "gateway" products that contributed to your learning what your skin likes. i have a few. for cleanser, the BOOTS botanics hot cloth balm was a revelation for me because it was the first time i tried a balm cleanser--and essentially any sort of cleanser that didn't leave my skin tight and stripped. it completely shifted my perspective of approaching skincare as skin care rather than skin punish . the AVEDA botanical kinetics exfoliant was my first acid toner i used after cleansing / before moisturizer and i saw a marked improvement. i now use primarily AHAs rather than the BHA (salicylic acid) that is in the AVEDA, but upon my first purchase i didn't even really know the difference. i was soon down the rabbit hole that is skincare and lastly, KIEHL'S midnight recovery concentrate was the first facial oil i'd ever used. it taught me my skin liked oils--and i stopped searching for only oil-free products. i woke up with skin feeling supple and i thought "ohhhhh" . i also applied it directly to a in-the-skin-never-completely-goes-away spot on my chin. within 2 hours it came to a head and i never saw it again. this eventually led me to my beloved CLARINS blue orchid oil. and the rest is history. how about you ?
I know we have a thread where we' talk about being healthier and such, and much like the challenges for makeup, this will be a challenge for exercise. Today I finally decided "Enough of this slugging around." I just finished one mile at a 3 mile speed and switching to 2.5 once in a while. If you're starting this journey with me, please check out (I hope Malday doesn't mind me calling the thread this) - the sister thread. Here you will find healthy recipes, AND delicious as well. I'll be including some vegan/vegetarian recipes mainly. http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/The-Reci pe-Thread/m-p/1845978/highlight/true#M101081 So I won't title this 30 day challenge, but I will aim for 30 days and keep going from there, hopefully. Here's an image of some stretches provided by the lovely ShannonAlexis:
I like to plan for these sales way in advance. I know it's not till the end of March / early April but I thought this feed would be fun to see what everyone is considering! What do you plan on purchasing? Here's what I'm considering... definitely need to slim down the list... what do you think are must haves out of these? Opinions on these products? Hey guys, I hope you can help me out with this! The scenario: I have extremely extremely pale skin. I have tried Sephora's Aerosol Foundation in Cream, Make Up for Ever Velvet Matte in Alabaster, Tarte's Amazonian Clay Foundation in Fair-Light Honey and Josie Maran's Powder Compact in 01- Fair/Light but everything has been too dark for me and it's getting quite frustrating to not have found a perfect match yet! I have even tested out some of suggestions listed under the ColourIQ, and low and behold, they are still too dark and/or orangey For all those with a similar issue, what foundation do you guys use and why?
hello, i recently purchased BECCA Perfecting Powder in OPAL online but i dont know if it would go with my skin tone my skin tone is 230 BUFF W on the product LANCOME PARIS 24h foundation so yall can have an idea of my skin tone i was wondering if opal would go good or do i need to change the color to moonlight?
today, i received some products from Sephora, by a brand called Belif. its a Korean skincare brand that will be launching at Sephora in March. i was so excited to receive these products because it's the first time i've been sent something from Sephora. i'm going to try one of the moisturizers tonight and i'll be back to update ~~ have any of you tried products from this brand? or received them from Sephora?
A couple of days ago I was using one of my Tarte Matte Lipsurgence's and set it down for a minute in my vehicle. Suddenly it was nowhere in sight. I checked everywhere and it's gone. Adding to my frustration it was a limited edition color that I've grown quite fond of. I wonder if it will magically pop up years later, like when the same thing happened with my Lancome juicy tube that was my favorite. Anyone else have this happen to them? It's very frustrating because I'm ocd when it comes to losing makeup products. I will basically tip over the whole house/ car until I find them. And if I don't it haunts me for a long time. lol
Around this past Christmas and Black Friday I spent several hundred dollars on vamping up my skincare routine, I bought lots of sets from Sephora as well as a few other companies, one of the biggest product regrets I had was changing my eye makeup remover. I tried one from Sephora, one from Caudalie, one from Fresh and I absolutely hated them all. I just ended up going back to my original form of removal which is coconut oil. However, I hate this too because its such a big jar. Sigh. Anyone else have product nightmare stories they want to share? doesn't necessarily have to be skincare, my second biggest regret purchase was the Benefit They're Real Mascara.

The only thing I love more than shopping is getting a great deal. I've created a website, with the same name as this thread (minus spaces and the exclamation point), to share my passion with more people. If you share here and want to keep the deal exclusive to BT viewers, just write for BT only in the post. I will heart every deal I see . If your deal does not have a heart from me, I have not seen it yet. A heart with no comment means I already had your deal on my site or am not planning on listing it (I may already have a better offer or another possible reason). Should I use your deal, I will thank you here and mention that it was "shared on BT" on my site. Thanks again to everyone who shares! If you find something full priced that is new and awesome, share it here. http://community.sephora.com/t5/Sephora-com/Spring -Summer-2015-Found-in-the-Wild-quot-New-quot/m-p/1 ...
I have been using UD's Perversion. I loved it for awhile. But it seems like it is not consistent. My lashes seem awesome one day but meh the next. And it has some clumpy days too. Those days seem to be increasing. I'd like to buy something new. I'm not sure what direction to go in. I'm leaning towards the Diorshow. But even then I'm not sure which one I want. Any recommendations? Thanks!!
Ladies, in the spirit of February being the dead of winter, let's bring some extra warmth to BT. I've noticed many ladies mention over the past few months that they lack the confidence or comfort level to rock a red lip. In that vein, I've decided to do a red lip a day for the next 28 days (or until I run out). Please feel free to pop in and join me by posting a pic of your red lippie, even if you don't want to don a red every day. And who knows, you might even find your next great red this way! Day 1: BITE Beauty Luminous Creme in Poppy Day 2: Shiseido Lacquer Rouge 417 Sanguine (I did not consider that I would need reds to complement a developing tan...oops!) Day 3: BITE Beauty Matte Lip Crayon Maraschino Day 4: Hourglass Opaque Rouge Icon (for my trip I only packed minis, so pretty much all GWP Day 5: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Beso Day 6: BITE Beauty High Pigment Pencil Pomegranate Day 7: BITE Beauty Luminous Creme Scarlet Day 8: Dior Rouge Dior 999 Day 9: BITE Beauty High Pigment Pencil Meritage and NYX Butter Gloss Cherry Pie (Meritage was described as a brick red, but even with the red gloss it still looks really pink to me) Day 10: NARS Hardwire (LE) Deadly Catch Day 11: Clinique Chubby Stick Mightiest Maraschino Day 12: Urban Decay Revolution FBomb Day 13: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Cruella Day 14: MUFE Artist Rouge N45 Day 15: Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick Frenched Day 16: Buxom Provocateur Day 17: BITE Beauty for Sephora VIB Rouge Day 18: OCC Liptar Matte Harlot Day 19: Guerlain KissKiss Shaping Cream 325 Day 20: OCC Stained Gloss Jealous Day 21: NARS Audacious Olivia Day 22: NYX Butter Gloss Red Velvet Day 23: NARS Audacious Lana Day 24: OCC Metallic Liptar Role Play Day 25: NARS Audacious Bette Day 26: OCC Matte Liptar NSFW Day 27: NARS Audacious Leslie (not photographing true to color, it is a more rusty red IRL, but I waited too late to photo, and now the good daylight is gone) Day 28: OCC Metallic Manhunter liptar
So I was looking on the Foreo website about their products, and stumbled upon their Luxe and Platinum versions...for $6,500 and $8,800, respectively!!! I couldn't believe it! What is the most ridiculous beauty product you have seen? EDIT: should say FOREO..maybe I'm in a golfing mood! lol
I am very grateful to have received the Fresh Lotus Preserve Eye Cream as a gift from Sephora. This is the first gift I have received from them. This is a new item launching at Sephora and will be available in stores the end of March. I am excited to try this product. I have Rosacea and am sensitive to a lot of things. I have hope because the Fresh Cleanser has worked very well for me in the past. I will try this product for a few weeks and post before and after pictures. Wish me luck ladies! From the Sephora site it states: What it is: A lightweight formula that illuminates while delivering 24-hour moisture for a radiant, youthful-looking glow around the eye area. What it is formulated to do: Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream illuminates while delivering 24-hour moisture for a lustrous look around the delicate eye area. The lightweight formula revitalizes the eye contour while combating dullness for a radiant, rested appearance. It includes Fresh’s super 7 complex, specifically designed to minimize and prevent early visible signs of aging, enhance radiance, and provide antioxidant protection, and is further boosted with protective star fruit extract. What it is formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens - Sulfates - Phthalates
Chanel has reformulated their Rouge Coco line and released a whole new set of Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating lipsticks. They are available on the Chanel website (where I got mine), but should be available at Nordies and other stores apparently by the end of this month. Per Chloe's nudging, I am starting this thread so people could post swatches and discuss the lipsticks. It is marketed as a hydrating and pigmented lipstick - and that is exactly what it is (not longwearing and not matte). It is sheerer than their Rouge Allure line though, and feels like you are applying a lipbalm. As it is quite emollient, some might need a lipliner, I am not sure (swatch first). Here are the swatches of the colours I own: Gabrielle - red Emilienne - berry Ina - fuschia pink Jean - purple/violet Marie: - pinky nude on me Dimitri - Fuschia pink I have put all swatches in one post so it is easy to compare.
In the spirit of all the other wonderful challenges on BT right now, I'm starting up a nail polish challenge for us. I have a ridiculous stash and I need to show my polish some love. With nail polish, once a day would be absurd (of course), so let's try and show off a new look and polish once a week. I'm personally going with manicures only, but if you'd rather do pedicures or even both go for it! I'm eager to see your collections and meet other polish junkies. It's past time for me to commit to using my stash! I was shopping in store today and decided to pick up the new Anastasia Brow Bar to Go kit. This kit has 2 color choices, chocolate and dark brown (yay!). The older set had the pencil in a lighter shade that didn't look good on me, but it was a pencil (keyword). This set is a mini brow wiz, how mini do you ask? This is all the product you get, that's it. For $16 you get a mini brow gel.tweezers and a 1 time use brow wiz.....
I am a 69 year old senior and always on the lookout for the perfect lip color. I have blonde hair, olive complexion and brown eyes. My lips are not big, so i like to over-paint them. Please tell me if you have suggestions. i am not afraid of color. i normally wear a tinted moisturizer, mascara, blush, and undereye concealer.
trying new products can be...overwhelming. do you love a product because it works ? can you tell right away if it's performing the way you want it to ? sometimes i'm so happy to finally try something and let my enthusiasm blind my actual impression of it (at least at first ) it takes time to come to proper conclusions ! particularly when it comes to skincare, but makeup too. so here's a thread where we can discuss our experiences while trying a product for a first time. it can also be a place that people can reference if they're considering a new product. right now i'm trying a sample of the REN v-cense night cream. i've only used it for 2 nights so far, but i LOVE IT. i love it so much i'm tempted to go ahead and grab it up, but i need to make sure it doesn't break me out over time (it contains shea butter which *can* be a breakout trigger for me, but not necessarily). it smells of frankincense which i adore, but i know for some people would be a turn off. i'm also checking out the VICHY aqualia thermal serum. i really love the CAUDALIE vinosource s.o.s. thirst quenching serum, and prefer the texture of it to the VICHY, but think the caudalie may break me out slightly (i also was probably overusing it...i was very enthusiastic). so i'm just trying to figure out which i prefer. how about you ?
I want to grow my hair out to waist length. My hair is around the bottom of my ribs but since it's curly it looks shorter than it actually is. My hair gets tangly easily and is naturally thin, what are some products that could make my hair shinier and softer? What are some tips for growing hair long & keeping it healthy?
Updates & FAQs: HERE IS THE MARCH 2015 (Ladies') BAG ! Barney's Spring Bag Event is: March 10-14, 2015! SA's in stores (all beauty counters at Barneys locations) are accepting pre orders NOW. The order amount for the GWP is $200 this time (not $250!). Want to order from an SA in store? Scroll down in the thread for ordering info/SA contact information. Brand information: There are some brands NOT sold on Barney's website that are available if you place an order with an SA through a brick and mortar store . We are working to compile a list. *I contacted the Beverly Hills Barney's location by phone but they were unable to give me any information on beauty brands not on the website that are available in store. Yuck. *I talked with Anna O. in Apothecary at Barney's BH, but she said she didn't know anything about Barney's.com and couldn't tell me what brands they offered that weren't online. *I have left a message with the concierge at Barney's New York - Manhattan flagship store asking specifically for a list of beauty brands sold in store so I can compare myself (or if they know which ones are in store that are not available on Barneys.com that would be great, but after talked to BH location I doubt it), we will see if they call me back. Update: They never returned my call. *I have emailed Barneys CS to ask about beauty brands sold in store - no answer. Update: still no answer. *I also emailed Irene, she did confirm no Guerlain or Tom Ford cosmetics. Chanel - Even thought it's not available on Barney's website, it is available to order through an SA in store (see the thread for more information). Tom Ford - I believe fragrances are available through Barney's in store and online; cosmetics are not (not even through an SA in store). Guerlain - It seems like this brand is not available (not even through an SA in store). Shu Uemera - Online reviews say this brand can be purchased through the Barney's Chicago store. Please post your additional info in the thread and I can update this FAQ list. ************* Favorite Barney's product recs welcome! Let's discuss our favorite products they offer, our wish lists, and what we'll be ordering to get the GWP! The backstory: Spoiler (Highlight to read) I am eagerly anticipating the Feb Barney's GWP, which is one of the best I've ever gotten. I'm going to place a pre-order with the NYC store (through the store it seems even better/get extras!). I'm filling my Barney's Favorites list online to keep track, as I pull together my order... I have been putting off other purchases and saving my pennies! I will stock up on a few basics, and a few news/splurges. Cash has been tight for me the last 6-9mos, so I have been really looking forward to this purchase. What are you thinking of getting? What products do you love that are sold at Barneys? Recommendations - want to trys!? This is the place to get excited with me... P.S. I don't think the official word is out on the dates (previously their big twice-annual GWP have started on Wed or Thurs, and the last two years this one started on Feb 10, and Feb 13th... so I'm thinking if I'm lucky this Love Yourself bag will start Feb 11 or 12, 2015). Hello everyone! Hope everyone's having a gorgeous day! I need some good recommendations for an undereye setting powder and maybe a new concealer recommendation while I'm at it. My major concern is having the concealer look natural and having it not settle into fine lines. Here's some info about me: -I'm a 2y09 with the IQ system here (so I'm kind of a coppery/tanned tone irl) -I have dry/normal skin with no blemishes anywhere besides the eye -Genetic dark circles that are a ***** to cover -I have seasonal allergies (Spring/Fall mostly) -Right now I use MUFE HD Concealer in 12 -I use LM Tinted Moisturizer in Tawny I heard a lot of people recommend the Anastasia contour palette but I don't want to buy a whole palette if I'm going to use one color, you know? But I also have to do what I have to do so if it's highly recommended I'll bite the bullet. Thank you for your help!
I love seeing other peoples empties! So I decided to make a board where people could post pictures of their empties, or just tell us about them! I'd also be interested in knowing whether you're repurchasing anything or not.
I currently have the Mac mineralized foundation and a prep and prime pen for highlighting. I find that my makeup does not last for me as it is mineralized and it wipes off my face very easily. Should I switch to maybe a foundation that isnt mineralized? However, I do like the fact that it is less harmfull on my skin. How is the Tarte line? Also looking for a under eye consealer and primer that may help my situation. Please help! What do you guys recomend? Thanks, Stefanie
