Whats that beauty item that always tempts you but you never actually make the purchase?
So we're always posting on hauls and stuff, and I thought this would be an interesting twist. Lots of us have that one (or more) thing that we eye every time we go into sephora/ sephora website, and we want to get it but we don't. What is yours? What about it tempts you? and Why don't you get it?   I''ll start. For sephora.com, I would definitely say the urban decay eyeliner vault.  All those shades are so tempting, and I am such a junkie for pretty colors. But it is too expensive too buy all of them, especially that I already have too many eyeliners, so I always tell myself that I wouldn't use all those colors anyways.

Return policy
Hey guys, So last year i bought my mom a back up of her laura mercier foundation and a invisible setting powder and soon after that got her the dior nude skin-glowing foundation. And she ended up loving the dior one way more then the laura mercier one. Anyways so my question would be can i still return the unopened laura mercier foundation even though its been half a year and do not have the receipt anymore?

SERUM that targets blemishes?
Hi ladies! I am 21 years old and i want to start using serums. The main factor that I am considering is if the serum will lighten up my blemishes. I have a few on my cheeks and i hate them! >:X Also, it would also be a plus if the serum will have anti aging effect so I can use it as a prevention against wrinkles. And lastly, I have oily skin that gets breakouts during those times of the month.   Can you recommend me a good serum that delivers those abovementioned results?   Thanks in advance, ladies!

Going Against the Grain: Products Others Rave Over, You Don't
Alright, this is a thread that I've thought about starting for a long time but have been trying to consider how best to approach it without starting a flame war or offending anyone.   Disclaimer: this thread is not for people who love these products to try to convince those who don't love their favorites that they're wrong, to try again, etc.  Trying to make anyone feel bad for their opinion will not be tolerated. Nor will "beauty evangelizing." Likewise, please remain polite when you talk about the products you just don't like.   So, what products do you go against the beauty grain?  What are those consensus favorites that you just don't like?   I'll start.   I'm just not a fan of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. I know they're widely considered a HG product and everyone " has to have them! ".  I understand why they're considered a value from an intellectual perspective.  But I don't own any of them, and won't. I often bite my tongue because they seem to be the only answer repeated thread and after thread.

How long should you steam your face?
I just started doing at-home steaming after I heard a lot of great things about it-- put my face over a hot pot of water with a towel over my head. That is as far as I know.    SO, how long do I have to do this for to have an effect? At least 5 mins? 10 mins? No more than 15? No less than 5?   Are there also any specific things I should/must do so that I actually get a result?   My skin is acne prone and I am south asian with fair skin tone.

me wearing makeup 15 year old boy
I love makeup so much and I was wondering what I need to do about this obsession and if I can wear make up in public. I have wanted to play with makeup for about a year now and i have loved when girls put makeup on me or i use some of my moms. I would love to take this to a new level and start wearing makeup in public or just buying makeup and trying it on at home and practicing. Some day i would love to be a makeup artist. I would also need a way to do this without my parents knowing and how would i buy the makeup i want.

So I have been using the truth serum for about a month now, but I just haven't noticed any difference in my skin.  I'm 24, so maybe i shouldn't expect to, and it should be more of a preventative thing for me.  I'm new to serums in general so i'm just not sure what i should be expecting.  Anyone have any thoughts to share on this?  Any tips on how to get the most out of this product?

I'm having a Beauty Moment, you?
What beauty moment are you having right now?  Are you currently into the bright lipstick look?  All neutrals?  The bronzed look?  Trying a different hairstyle everyday?    My current beauty moment is mixing blushes.  I'm usually a one and done type of girl, but since I've purchased the LORAC blushes (um, all of them!) that were on sale a while back I've started to mix blush colors- a cream blush layered with a complimenting powder blush; a bright blush muted with a skin colored blush; blush bronzer mix.   Next, I'm gravitating towards lightening up my eye looks.  As it's getting warmer (and stickier in DC) I'm softening my eye looks and layers of colors to one soft color and a bright eyeliner (or just brown or black). What beauty moment are you having?

Viggle App!
This is off topic but i noticed a ShopKick post awhile back and i do use it! But i am loving Viggle. It the same concept as shopkick where you check in and get points to redeem things. But you do it with Tv shows! I don't know about you ladies but i watch plenty of TV! You just sync it to your tv, it catches what your watching and you get a point for every minute you watch it! They have featured shows where you get more point as well! I think it is great! I've had this already for a few days and have 1,500 + points! You get gift cards you can redeem for a certain amount of points. For instance Starbucks gift cards are 12,500 points, and i assume it would be a $10 gift card. And they have a Sephora Gift Card for 20,000 points! I think i will be there in no time! Anyone else use this or think they will now??!!!

Heading off to college, Time for a new me. :)
Okay I will be heading off to college this coming August . I'm so excited, and thanks to a friend I'm slowly starting to get into make up. I love color, I love playing around with colors. I have a BH Cosmetics 120 Eye Shadow Palette that I love playing around with. My problem is my face. Trying to find a foundation that covers my acne without the thick, cakey feeling. My skin starts out really dry in the morning and gets oily throughout the day, and right now I live in Texas and work at a Sonic so I really need something that covers and really stays. Any advise?

Q. Can't find a foundation that will stay put!
Ok so i'm getting married September of this year so i've been on the hunt for a foundation that will not only last the whole night but look great for photos. I don't have a lot of acne but I do have some redness so it needs to cover that as well.   Here's the thing i've tried the following with no luck:   Kat Von D Foundation - great coverage but wipes right off within an hour!   MUFE matte foundation - matte for like an hour and then wipes right off   And yes i've even used a primer under both of these. Whats crazy is I don't even really have super oily skin yet they both slide right off. I'm not sure if I need to be using a setting powder or spray or both? HALLLPPPP!!!

11 (Not "10") Things We All Need to Know...
There are 2 people that I've come to really respect their knowledge of skin care and makeup: Lisa Eldridge and Caroline Hirons.  Lisa is exceptional at knowing how to make makeup wear and look better, while Caroline is equally brilliant at understanding the skin and what ingredients it does and does not need--and she is blunt, straight-forward, and speaks from knowledge, not theory.   To follow are Caroline's "Things I Say Over and Over Again".  I know a lot of my questions have been answered by her blog--especially her "Cheat Sheets", so I'd thought I'd share with y'all in case it helps even just 1 person.  Enjoy!   1.  You are obsessed with your pores. They do not open and close like doors. You say they are HUGE - then send me a picture and I can SEE NOTHING.  We CANNOT see your pores. The only person that can see your pores close-up is your opthamologist - or your boyfriend. Your opthamologist is looking at your eyes. Not your pores. And if your boyfriend is thisclosetoyou and notices your pores? He's gay. Or not attracted to you. Or at best, rude. Rethink the entire relationship. 2.  You overuse the Clarisonic. A lot of you. A LOT of you. You can use it - you're just not meant to use it every time you brush your frigging teeth.  Step away from the trendy facial tool and wash your bloody face properly. 3.  Nothing good ever came from scrubbing your face with a peach kernel.  There's a reason they are 99p. Step away. 4.  In general, foaming is what you want Fairy Liquid to do. Not your cleanser. And to the brands: I am unapologetic. 5.  Freckles are cute. At any age. You will do damage to your skin trying to get rid of them. Leave them alone. Embrace them. 6.  Stress is the key to most flare-ups, whether they are acne, rosacea or eczema. Practise relaxation. And not in some hippy-dippy way. Seriously. See the bigger picture. Chill. 7.  Inflammation is the root of all evil. Eat less sugar, take more fish oil supplements. A lot of fish supplements. 8.  Natural doesn't mean you won't react. Essential oils are one of the biggest triggers for skin. 9.  'Dupes' belong in makeup and nail varnish. There is no 'dupe' for a high quality, years-of-research-behind-it skincare product. 10.  Spend your money on supplements, skincare, foundation and concealer and scrimp on the rest. You will look fabulous.     11.  If you would spend more on shoes, handbags, lipstick, jeans or fashion in general than you would on high quality skincare - you will be a sixty year old woman (and man) with a vintage wardrobe and a face like an alligator.

Is giving perfume/cologne as a wedding gift okay?
My older brother is getting married next month to his girlfriend of five years and I would like to get them something different, so I thought what better than matching perfumes? I am thinking D&G Light Blue for Femme and for Homme since they are fresh scents that appeal to most everyone. Is this okay? My other sibling pointed out that they may not like it and thus never use them, but I argued that they are good quality expensive perfumes that neither would ever think of purchasing for themselves. What do you think? Is this a good gift that they will enjoy, or am I way off the charts?
