What concealer can be used ON ACNE Like the ones with acne medication in it. I only know Clinique had one that looks like a really thin pencil that has Salicylic Acid but cant find it any more Thanks!!
I'm making this thread because I simply don't want to create a new thread for every little question that pops into my head, nor do I think that most questions need a separate topic. I had previously just dropped whatever random question that came to mind into the Random Thread (thanks jemly!), but I had been thinking about starting this for a while and figured I'd give it a shot to see if it could be of any use. I'm well aware that the people who could best utilize this thread will likely remain completely oblivious to it, but if it can consolidate even a small fraction of questions -- and maybe even generate some interesting conversations both beauty and non-beauty related -- that seems worthwhile. Official thread mascots: The Curious Puppies. Official thread anti-mascot: Lucille Bluth. It probably would've been wise of me to have a relatively inane question to use as an example and kick this thread off... Well, since I apparently don't have any pressing questions, I'll start with this two-parter: What's your favorite drug store nail polish shade AND which official mascot puppy is your favorite? Bonus/Extra Credit: What's it's name?
Hey Beauties, this thread is all about holo! Post anything from highlighters to brushes, I wanna see all you got! Feel free to ask any questions about any of the products I post and don't forget to give this thread a big ol' heart! Stay gorgeous Love, NewMoonChild

Having dark circles under the eyes may be as a result of sleep deprivation, seasonal allergies or even an over indulgence in some activities the night before and it can happen to just any of us. This article will discuss how we can conceal these dark circles under the eye to brighten the eyes and not necessarily making them go away.
It is true that a well-done makeup will camouflage dark sides, but we must know that the use of a more long term approach like an eye cream should be considered.
Another way to cover dark circles is calling Color theory into play by making peaches or pinks to counteract the gray, blue and brown tones in under-eye circles. This is according to Sotomayor, a beauty expert. Most people can get dark circles covered up just fine with the use of a regular concealer on the said undertones to neutralize and brighten the dark circles. If all that didn’t work, then priming with a color corrector before layering concealer on it will do just fine. To prime; pink is good on fair skin and peach on medium to dark tones.
Apart from picking a concealer with a pink or peach undertone, Scali said that the right formula should go on smoothly and without looking cakey but it should dry down much so that it doesn’t crease too much. To get this perfect outcome, apply your concealer after your eye makeup but before making up your lips, cheeks, and brows. This will allow the concealer an adequate time to set, and should you notice little crease right after its application; you have ample opportunity to smooth blend it as well as add needed quantity of powder if required.
Concealer application depends on the type of coverage. To apply for medium coverage, it is suggested that one taps it at the inner and outer corners of the eyes, then smoothen with a tidy and fluffy eye shadow brush. For an application for full coverage, a finger or a concealer brush should be used to tap a corrector into the inner corners of the eyes or whichever spot the color is darkest, and then with a brush, pat neutral concealer one shade lighter compared to the skin tone under the entire eye area. The major key here is to avoid rubbing it as rubbing it may wipe the product to the side while leaving problem area uncovered. Dust the area with translucent setting powder afterward to ensure that the concealer sits where you want it. Also, it is important to avoid the use of mineral powder for the best finish.
Welcome back to the deal sharing fun! Deals shared here may also be posted to my blog (same name as the thread) unless you write for BT only. If I share your deal, I will always thank you here. I will heart every deal I see (without an outside or cheat link) to acknowledge it. Beautytalk (the forum) does not allow outside links. A heart with no comment means I already have the deal or am deciding not to list it. Please list the retailer (without the link or cheat link; dot com) if it is not mentioned in the picture. Mods come in more often when they see any type of link. Thanks for sharing (original deals and repeats are welcome)! Please also share any deal haul you want, especially mystery gifts. Discussion is encouraged. A lot of questions come with certain deals or retailers. When I see questions I can answer, I will respond (unless the poster consistently ignores me or someone else already answered the complete question). I read all the main posts (so no need to tag me). Every bride deserves to feel gorgeous in the event of her wedding. So going all out to hire makeup professionals for bridal makeup or doing the bridal makeup by self, the facial makeup contributes more than 70% of confidence to the bride about her appearance. Understandably, the lips have to do loads and loads of kissing on this day, so the bride or whoever is responsible for making her up must ensure that the lip makeup is such that outlives the several kissing that will necessarily be thrown at it. Brides do not have the luxury of time to stress about issues that could have easily been fixed such as touching up lip makeup. It is absolutely unacceptable for the bride’s lip makeup to fade out or smudge not to mention stain her groom. On this note, it is important to be armed with a number of products that will ensure a long lasting lip makeup that will pass the test of many kisses, eating and even drinking.
For lip color of long lasting value, we are familiar with the usual liquid lipstick. Works like a lip gloss, only that it dries and stays exactly where you want it. With this, the bride feels confident and does not have any worries about smudging or even staining the groom with her lip color. The following are long lasting products for bridal lip makeup:
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick
Sephora Creme Lip Stain
Fiona Stiles Color Impact Matte Lip Crayon
Flower Color Proof Long-Wear Lip Creme
Revlon Colorstay Overtime
Here are some expert pieces of advice for how to do a bridal lip makeup that will last long enough: 1. Line the lips: The first hack is to line the lips and with the same lip liner, fill in the entire lip. After this, use your long lasting lipstick on the lips as the first coat and then pat with tissue right before you apply again. 2. Lip gloss rule: If you must apply lip gloss, make it very sparing because it has the tendency of taking off the lip color. 3. Use Lip Stain: it’s best to use a lip stain for the perfect bridal lip makeup. With just a sparing coat of gloss on the stain, you are a go! 4. Prep and Prime: The need for skin and lip preparation before the wedding event is necessary. The fact is that without adequately preparing the lips, only the lip makeup will not do the magic. Just as the skin needs proper prepping, the lips must be well cared for before this day.
It seems that the trend of contouring and highlighting have found a permanent place in people’s hearts. With the right moves, you can make your face into different looks. Hence, the believe that contouring is here to stay. Unlike the contouring of those old times, one can achieve a much more natural look now. Let us quickly consider some tips for reverse highlight and contouring. 1. Matte Contour only: Why we do contouring is so that a viewer’s eye is deceived by the look of the re-shaped face. By all means, avoid using products that shimmer because, already, you have the dark colors to recede and the light colors to highlight.
2. Avoid going excessively dark: Generally, to be able to use much of dark colours, you need to be very confident in the art. If you are not yet much of a pro, then use only a single shade or two that are darker than your skin tone.
3. Be careful about your shade: To achieve a natural contour look, make use of a product within your regular colour range. For instance, a warm tone shouldn’t go outside of products of the same tone because it will rid your contour of the expected natural look.
4. Blending with powder or cream: The idea here is to stick to what you are good at. There is no hard and fast rule about the use of a bronzer or any cream contouring products for that matter. So, if blending powder is an advantage you have, then go all out for it. Do not feel restricted because a majority of the people use cream contouring.
5. Picking the features to contour: Most of the time, contouring the whole face may be of no need. We must know why and what we want to contour. The highlights and contour are to be lightly applied to select areas.
6. Applying where shadows naturally abide: contour should be applied to places with shadows. For example, the temple of the forehead, the nose’s downside, underneath the cheekbone and the jawline are areas on the face that have shadows naturally, and they are the exact areas that need contouring.
7. Reversing the order: While the regular application is to apply the foundation first before the contour shade. Reversing the order of application gives a more natural outcome. So, applying the contour before the foundation is not a “no-no,” it is, in fact, a recommended technique.
8. Smile: To find the cheekbone, all you need do is just to smile to find the cheekbone and apply contour shade right beneath the cheekbone. Using the fish face approach often results in erroneously applying the contour too low on the face.
9. Where and how to apply your highlights: We all know that there must be a highlight for every contour right? The highlights balance out contouring. So, we should apply highlights on the high areas on the face, the areas where light hits on the face; for instance, the top of cheekbones, nose bridge, under the lower lip, top of the brows and middle of the chin.
10. Blend out smooth: For a perfect highlighting and contouring, there need be a lot of blending to ensure that no streak or lines are left on the face. This can be done by using a sponge or a brush. For a more beautiful result, blend in circularly motion.

Every cream compact foundation I used to use has either been discontinued or reformulated and I am lost, currently using Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup to Go as it's the least annoying of the liquid foundation and cushion compacts I have already tried and tossed but it would be better if it was just a solid cream instead of annoying liquid. I am seeking a non-drying cream compact foundation with no sunscreen or talc, is this now totally impossible?
I bought the oil free one in Bamboo Beige knowing it was too dark. It has very true olive undertones - not yellow or warm. It is very hard for me to find a true light olive color. However, I am acually fair. Right now I am tanned and this color is still 1-2 shades too dark. I thought I'd mix it with lighter foundations I own. Would Beige Ivory be a better match? In the store it didn't seem much lighter but it did seem less olive, and I need lighter but still olive. The lightest color is only a tad too light, but it's too bright yellow...I need a more earthy green tone. FYI, I am closest to Mac NC15 in winter and NC20 with a tan. In winter, Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in 10 Beige is a good match, albeit lacking my distinct olive undertone. YSL in B10 is okay. UD in 2.0 is pretty good. All of these are a tad too yellow (as opposed to olive) and light for summer. I need very GREEN yet fair/light, which almost no one makes until you get to the light/med range. I dont like the wear of Makeup Forever, and their supposedly light olive 117 and 120 shades look more yellow on me. Similarly, the often recommended Nars colors are too yellow. I am a neutral, slightly warm leaning, earthy yet pale olive. Any ideas?
How I should clean liquid/cream makeup in an open pot? Makeup like the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer, Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer, Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealer for example. I apply it with my fingers so germs and bacteria probably build up. Do I spray some rubbing alcohol in it? Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything online on how to clean liquid makeup with this packaging but I really want to make my makeup last! Please help!
Welcome! This thread is all about the SiJCP experience! These stores are different than the stand-alone Sephora stores and like everything else, there are pros & cons. Some of the pros: SiJCP has exclusive Sephora Favorites Sets ( which aren’t sold online ): Post a pic of any you may find out there in the wild GWP promos: sent out via email, snail mail or postcard offers in the store. There is usually no minimum purchase requirement but you will need the barcode. Be a pal? Post any offers you come across here Their own “Rewards”: the 100-pt’ers are usually different then stand-alone stores Some of the cons ( IMO ): Their own “Rewards”: which are hardly ever stocked The great mystery of the “ SiJCP Email Distribution List ” is still….you guessed it – a mystery! No one, not even store employees, know how to get on this email distribution list. The investigation is still ongoing Communication isn’t consistent and each store seems to operate differently. BTW, if you had a good experience at the store, please complete the survey – this means a lot to the hard working SA’s. Thanks everyone for your help
I got a brand new Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Foundation from Sephora today and noticed the foundation has separated in the bottle. We then checked three different Sephoras and all the bottles looked the same. Does anyone know if it's normal for the Genius Gel to separate in the bottle? If I shake it mixes together and after awhile separates again. Is the foundation bad or is this normal for this product due to the gel texture? Thank you.
I'm addicted to Stila Smudge Stick but the caps are terrible, constantly fall off or crack, leading to dried up twist pencils and wasted $. I read I can re-soften with a little heat, but is the effect permanent or do I need to apply heat every time? Threw all my dried ones away and I'm trying to decide whether to re-invest in new pencils with bad caps. Also, the candle trick is described for wooden pencils but what about twist-up pencils from a plastic tube like Stila? Thanks!

I will be going to Hawaii for a month and I think that due to the humidity I will need a primer to ensure my makeup has some staying power. Right now I am using the NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and it lasts for me without any primer until about 3-4pm when applied at 7 am. I am in between choosing three different primer options at the moment. Any thoughts on the following: Sephora Collection Beauty Amplifier Ultra Smoothing Primer http://www.sephora.com/beauty-amplifier-ultra-smoo thing-primer-P412147?skuId=1829274&icid2=products% ... I do have oily skin when it comes to the afternoon and more dry in the morning.
I'm looking for a reliable black lipstick hat won't fade or smudge. so far I see that Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick has the color black and I'm curious if this works for anyone? Or if someone has a better recommendation?
Hi.. I am struggling with my makeup routine! No matter what I try I can't seem to have a flawless finish with my foundation. My skin is combo of dry and oily in t zone mostly. Currently using esteem lauder double wear. cleaning face with origins checks and balance moisturizing with jack black double duty applying makeup with a densely packed brush with a drop of boscia beauty oil Once I apply the makeup, I can't add any other products such as concealer, contouring, brightening or illuminating creams it results in shifting my foundation and leaving it looking patchy and colour has shifted My nose especially, I have a hard time keeping makeup on without it flaking off Please help! Thank you
I saw the best youtube video...on anti-hauls. Basically, it's things you are not going to buy (no way, not ever, absolutely) and why. So here are my anti-hauls for holiday 2016 updated: 1. The KVD/TooFaced collaboration. People are already listing it below. I don't get it and to me it just looks tacky. Two brands that apparently aren't better together. 2. Pat McGrath lips sets. I do not need glitter on my lips and the shades don't look unique or distinctive. 3. The new Tarte deluxe blush palette (the $65 one). I need to stop with these deluxe size holiday offerings. I can't seem to hit pan on one blush, let alone 9 (I think it has nine). 4. Things off Beauty dot com just because they're discounted. I do not need makeup, even super cheap makeup. I might want it, but I don't need it. 5. Sorry on this one, but after buying a bunch of UD palettes at full price, to see them all get discounted deeply, I will not be buying more full priced UD palettes. 6. If the Sephora Give Me More Lips has lip liners, I will not be buying it. Videos one and two are on the last or almost last page of comments to this thread. The others are littered in. Kimberly Clark (youtube name so not putting in names not allowed on BT) made them. Video 2 I'll link now:
Hey everyone! I was chosen to get some stuff for free to try from Sephora! The items are: Milk Makeup highlighters in Mars and Supernova Dior Pump and Volume Mascara Tocca Stella hair fragrance I have tried the Milk highlighters and swatched them on my arm as well as on both of my cheeks for you guys. I really love both! They apply well and don't stay feeling sticky on the cheeks after application. I think that Mars is great if you want something more natural/subtle, while Supernova is great for a sort of extra terrestrial feel . It was super hard to capture Mars in my photos though, but it is a sort of orangey color with a reddish shimmer (think Fireball by Urban Decay). It looks super great and natural once on the face though! Spoiler (Highlight to read) As for the Dior mascara, I haven't tried it yet but I opened it to check out the brush! I'm curious how it'll work for me.. I hope well! It doesn't look like other mascaras which I find myself using more often (think of an hourglass shaped brush with more dense bristles), but maybe this one will surprise me Photo in spoiler! Spoiler (Highlight to read) EDIT: Just tried the mascara on one eye... Omg.. LOOK AT MY LASHES. One eye has nothing and the other has two coats of the Dior mascara (applied one coat, then waited about 10 seconds before applying the next- no curling or primer used). This is amazing, wow. Sorta in shock, and if this doesn't flake and go wild, this is my new HG. And finally the hair fragrance! I got it in Stella and omg it smells so good. I sprayed one spray in my hair and it's lingering with me and all I can smell! It's very feminine and floral, it's quite sweet too and I think it smells stronger than many of my regular perfumes. I think this is something I'll spray onto my hair on windy days so the wind can lift my hair and spread the scent haha. Thank you so much for all of this Sephora! It really made me happy (especially with my low-buy and such lol).
I've been having issues with foundation sliding off my skin and looking cakey shortly after application. I have tried every mattifying primer (Becca ever-matte, MUFE mattifying, estee edit pore vanishing stick, nars pore & shine control, tarte tinted BB treatment, hourglass veil mineral, smashbox, porefessional, etc.) and nothing works. I always pat the primer in rather than rubbing it in, as well, and this does not help. My makeup doesn't apply properly to my nose or upper lip area (slides off, looks cakey right away) no matter what I use. I've tried a beauty blender and several different types of foundation brushes. By midday, any foundation I try pills on my cheeks, and becomes very cakey and gross everywhere on my T-zone - particularly around my nose. Shine is also a major issue. Currently using Nars Sheer Glow foundation, but this also happens with tinted moisturizers, Lancome Teint Idole, and Smashbox BB Water. I also set with UD De-Slick. Current skincare: Olehenriksen Oil Control Toner, Good Genes, FAB Mattifying Moisture Gel or Clinique Dramatically Different Gel, and Origins GinZing eye cream.
